you can get to those options without enabling Dev opts. I tap on other codes but it wont change.

You need compatible Bluetooth device.

Ok, but what's the best codec ?

I have an aptx compatible ear phone and on connecting it automatically selects the aptx audio codec and I also get a toast "Powered by Qualcomm" and the aptx logo. I did try changing the codec to aptx hd and adaptive, but didn't notice much of a difference. Not sure if I have bad sensitivity to audio quality or listen to bad quality audio

Enable Audio Booster in Bluetooth Headset

hi,
is there a regsitry tweak to enable audio booster in bluetooth headset?
Thanks.
hi
plz tell me if you find thnx
I'd like to know the answer to this too.
No, only WoW SRS will work via bluetooth, I personally prefer it anyway.
Wow SRS?
I haven't seen any options for this either. Anyone know how to turn this on/off on the HD2?
i think nitrogen player(w/ equalizer) works. my problem is i don't know how to play all my music on nitrogen player,, its like only a certain chosen album can be able to play???
Agree, SRSWOW HD I think is the only one, unless you use audio booster and Audio Route together, might work?

Yes, and very easy!
turn on your BT device, and leave it next to your HTC
Go to settings/comm manager/ Bluetooth/
Your HTC your instaled BT
Click on it, then will be 3 tabs click on the setings.
then click on advanced/ Audio, and cick on the check box "Play system sounds ...device" and done.
Either my HTC Pure does not have this option or I am not understanding how to find it. Could you please show a screen shot of this 'audio settings page' with "Play system sound...device"

Sorry, but the procedure you've just described doesn't work with HD2.
Checking the box doesn't change anything and if you try to activate Booster Audio while BT is on, the system pops up with the same error warning.
Look forward to getting further help

My MaxxAudio isnt working properly?

When im using MaxxAudio, the sound doesn't seem to change when I go through the EQ settings or the MaxxVolume stuff.
Is it anything like Viper4Android where you have to load the driver on startup or something?
Im running stock 4.4.4 CM 11.0-xnph05q .

Bumpity Bump.
Still not sure whats up with MaxxAudio. It doesnt have any effect on the sound. If I use the enhancements in PowerAmp, they work fine and increase the bass etc, just a bit annoying that its limited to only that app and the built in effects dont seem to work for me

In poweramp tap the equaliser tone /volume to go to the stock equaliser tone /vol screen
Make sure music fx is enabled, then long press on music fx to change the sound
Of that doesn't work
In poweramp settings-audio - advanced, make sure music fx is enabled

Volumen on headphones too low

Hi!
1º Sorry my English. I try to explain but maybe i don't use the best words.
I don't know if is only my phone or not.
The volume on headphones is too low, I try with originals and others headphones (apple, beats, sony...) via bluetooth , USBC, USBC-Converter... and is horrible
I don't want to have a disco on my heads, :silly: but yes, I want to listen my music a few strong as a others phones.
Maybe is a limitation on Europe, because the quality of sound is so good, but the volumen... Meh
Thanks!!!
I read on theverge and mashable that there is suppose to be a DAC/AMP coming as an accesory. But so far I have only seen the freebuds.... My Galaxy S8 is certainly louder than P20....The Quality itself seems good though.
The only trick I know is too enable Dolby Atmos, then go to Music profile, and then "off" then you get a little more loudness and a graphical EQ that is flat. I think that should be a profile without DSP stuff going on. But most natural to me sounds with Dolby atmos disabled. But then it really struggles with volume.
Spotify has this option for example so you can set it up I think. Personally I dont need more volume. Usually using a bit more than the half of the bar.
It is a bit quieter than other phones I used but definitely not too quiet. Maybe you should go check your hearing ?
In ear headphones can be really damaging to hearing when listening on louder volumes.

Your concern is right, vol are very low even with 3rd party headphones , average volume I have to set is around 60-70% always
volume is low when there are too much noise in the background. maybe bcoz of the noise cancellation (or maybe you have ear problem). im using both apple earbuds and the huawei earphones, Pulsar+ player with in-app EQ manually adjusted + Dolby Atmos EQ adjusted to music. volume is too loud for me at 60%, my base %%% for me even in my ASUS Zenfone 5

I noticed this problem too with the original earphones and my Honor monster earphones connected with the headphone adapter. But, weirdly, the sound from my Huawei bluetooth earphones is louder!
low volume on P20 pro bluetooth
I had the same problem. I found the app Volume booster GOODEV. With that app, you will be able to boost the sound much.
Had the same issue! Realized its the cheap connector included swapped for this:
Belkertech Nylon Braided Type C to 3.5mm Audio Microphone Female
Good increase in volume. Hope that helps someone.
For Spotify what can help is to uncheck te option for same volume for all songs
fixed
My wife's mate 20 pro have similar low volume issue with her bluetooth headset and I did this to resolve the issue.
You are going to need to change the Bluethooth audio codec in the "developer options"
You'll need to search for how to get into the developer options on the internet because I can't link as a new user.
I believe you'll need your bluetooth headset connected before you can make any changes otherwise the option to change will be greyed out.
Basically I changed the Bluetooth Audio codec from ACC (which seems to be the default) to SBC. After this, the max volume dramatically improved.
For some reason, options like
Bluetooth Audio Sample Range, Bluetooth Audio Bits Per sample, Bluetooth Audio Channel Mode, Bluetooth Audio LDAC Codec are greyed out even when the bluetooth headset is connected while I checked on another android phone that these are options you can actually play with.
I wanted to change these to see if it'll actually improve bluetooth audio. Either way, I'm happy that changing this works. Let me know if it help for you guys as well?
Settings -> Sounds -> Dolby atmos -> pick "music" -> adjust all levers in the equaliser at the bottom of the screen to +x dB. I maxed out all levers to +12 dB. And voila you've got more volume without changing any relation between different frequencies.

Thanks a million m8! Works for me. Now I can't have volume much above 60% without being uncomfortably loud.
P.S. had to reboot my P30 Pro after changing the codec setting to SBC before the new setting was activated.
Most things depend on what headphones you are using the stock Huawei headphones are so-so... not really worth it either Apple.. When I plugged in my Sennheiser the sound was x2 louder, after that I also got Huawei AM61 sports bluetooth headphones which are great as well. Pay attention to OM as well it is not recommended to use more than 32 OM on a phone without an amplifier.

Hi bro! Does it also work with wired headphones? At first glance I don't think so. Is there no solution for those who use wired headphones?

I don't think so, no. My friend said he did something similar with the USB-C wired connection, I'll ask him tomorrow.

Low ringtone/notification volume fix?

Hello, I have a regular pixel 3 and the ringtones/notifications are way too soft. I've noticed that if I'm playing a game or watching a video, the volume is great when notifications come through. Is there a way for notifications and ringtones to use the same audio channel (not sure if I'm using the right terminology here) that video and games use? I've read that it's "working as intended" per Google, and notifications and ringtones only play through the bottom speaker. Just trying to find a way to not miss so many calls when the phone is in my pocket.
Tldr: the notifications are too soft, and can it be fixed.?

Does that require further configuration, or will it "just work" after installation? I've read about it, and I think I need root for it, which I'm willing to do, just want to make sure I can get it working if I go the root route.

2.7.1 pretty much just works, you still need to configure it to Ur taste but it's a lot easier to install than previous versions
That's awesome, thanks for your answers. Final question - do you have viper4android installed on your pixel 3 and can confirm the audio plays out of both top and bottom speakers at a louder volume?
Yes it does indeed

If you read a couple of posts up, I asked the same question and acidspider said viper4android does utilize both speakers for notifications and ringtones and plays at a louder volume according to him/her. As to configuration, I don't know. I haven't tried it yet. I was probably gonna wait a bit and try it later. Maybe after the August updates.
Clean it with alcholo
Still not loud and doesn't use both speakers

I've tried every setting I could and the Pixel 3 ringers and notifications are still not loud and will not play out of the top speaker!
Someone should be able to figure this out?
It would really help if both speakers were utilized.

Yes both speakers work except for ringers and notifications.
I don't see why that shouldnt work, have you the audio modification library and audio compatibility mod installed from magisk?
Yes they are installed. No matter what I do the ringer will not come out of the top speakers nor get loud enough.

ok, ringtone/notification still low volume, but after testing the viper4android IS working in general sounds. Just not for the ringtone/notification, lol!
I haved personalised ringtone and the volume war too low. Since I use the officially ringtone, this is fine for me.

No, I haven't found a solution and the phone is still brand new in the box since it is useless if I can't hear it ring!
I also have a 3XL and the ringers and notifications also only come out of the bottom speaker but at a higher level.
I know someone can or has already figured it out.

Voila voila
