Does the phone still work if you uninstall the app? I know you need the app to sign up and stuff. I talked to a CSR via chat but they were just regurgitating scripted information. I'm kind of a neat freak and privacy conscious and don't like stuff on my phone I don't really need.

No real complaints whatever.... I'm glad I made the switch....$40...unlimited data....they just recently uncapped the Data cap....it was capped at 5mb download speed.....now it's uncapped for a limited time....getting 30+mb download speed now.
1 minor issue is you do get deprioritized when you are in a crowded area....stadiums...Las Vegas...etc.

I joined Monday from MetroPCS.
My wife is on Verizon proper.
We are getting the same speeds when testing.
Signal quality and strength though is way better. MetroPCS would die after entering many buildings I work in.
A couple for options I paid extra for on Metropcs are included in Visible like call forwarding.
No wifi calling yet for android
RCS is enabled as a feature on the phone but I have yet to actually experience it in use.
Support by chat and twitter is bizarre to me.
Twitter works best IMO.
At this price point and if it keeps the current features and improves upon them it is a no brainer.
No added fees either.
40 flat.

TMobile is killing me. The have me stuck in a contract that i did not agree to for the next two years. I have asked for a transcript of the upgrade/renewal call, they declined and have told me to drop it and not contact them again regarding the issue - I cancel i get two ETF's!!
Well i would hate the Hit on my credit, but will never pay them based on the principle of the matter.
My question involves unlocking the phone and using it on one of the pay as you go providers: Their coverage in my area is not great, but oh well.
I see online sites where i text to their number and they send back a code that unlocks the phone...anyone tried? any good?
What about the SIM card? Any info on how that will work? places to but etc..
any help whatsover? I've always just dealt with AT&T and Tmobile, have no experience unlocking or getting around anything like that.
G2x only works with GSM networks and 3g/4g only works with Tmobile network.
If you want to use your g2x with other carrier, you will still end up with networks who are resellers of either at&t and tmobile.

I don't think this kind of stuff shows on your credit report anyway.
How far up the command chain did you press the issue with T-Mobile? You had to have signed and agreed to something when you set up your account with them. That signed contract is all that matters.

That's the issue. Their over the phone system is flawed. The process is to speak with a REP then they transfer you to an automated system, which is the signing if you will. The auto system ststes your phone # and that you are acknowledging entering into a contract - NO DETAILS of the contract.
I am at the mercy of the communication between me and the REP and the accuracy of their input into whatever system they use.
I went Customer Service -Loyalty -Contract review. So three levels up the chain and was told in the last correspondence they will not investigate any further, Do not email again - Case closed.

That would be a nice savings...is it like a reload system. What interested me about Virgin was they had a $25 plan. I think it's $35 now, not sure if if the cheaper is available. Anyway, only had a few minutes but UTT and data. The trick was to download some program (forget teh name) and teh calls go through the data so no minutes are used!
Also, Metro PCS seems to be the major player around here.

Guys, If i get the Simple Mobile Unlimited Talk, Text & Web for $40 3G Speed. Will the 3G work on T-Mobile G2X?
2nd Question:
If i get the Simple Mobile Unlimited Talk, Text & Web for $50 4G Speed. Will the 4G work on T-Mobile G2x?
Trying to verify before i purchase the phone. The reason i am trying to find out is because on SimpleMobile website, LG G2x listed is only compatible w/ 3G not 4G, while T-Mobile G2x says clearly it is a 4G phone.
Someone can please shed some light? I called the tech support they didn't know the answer.. Wierd.

+1 SM works fine. Had a data tower issues last week. But the cost is worth it.
They just rolled out a $40.00 monthly everything unlimited. Data is only 3G on that one though. And you cannot tether with them. SO that kind of sucks.

That's not true. There's a fairly well-known loophole of using alternate upgrades to keep unlimited data and extend your contract. I've successfully done it three times now. The last time was in April when I got my M8. I have unlimited data and my contract expiration date is 04/07/2016. :good:

Technically, according to the conditions of the list, we should be fine. One of the conditions is "Have fulfilled their minimum contract term". This is Big Red we're talking about here, though, so you never know. I hope T-Mobile steps up their coverage game in my area soon. I'm sure they will welcome me with open arms when Big Red forces me to get rid of my old voice plan and unlimited data.

Switch to T-Mobile
I'm switching to T-Mobile soon - I tether a lot so having unlimited is nice and there is more development for T-Mobile/AT&T editions. I would get throttled with unlimited on both networks so why not pay less?
Better reception more reliable network... More coverage. For me I travel so its nice to know I have data and my kids are able to tether for games and videos. Just my 2¢ often worth less to others lol.
The OP left out one important little detail: Only the top 5% of data hogs get throttled. Those that use more than 4.7GB/month.
I'm ok with that.

4.7GB? Seriously? lol
Can anyone confirm the state of Verizon HTC One M8s that have switched to TMobile?
I assume by "everything" they literally mean, everything--calls, WiFi, 4G--or does the 4G only apply to "refarmed" areas? I already have S-OFF via Firewater so I'd assume the tough part's done...

No such thing as a data hog, data WANTS to be transferred, that is the whole point of a network. If Verizon's network can't handle the network demands of their customers, they should upgrade their network, not throttle their customers. They make billions of dollars for pete's sake.
I travel 50% of the year for work, and hotel "high-speed" internet is rarely fast enough for VPN, screen sharing, downloading ISOs, etc. My phone is the only way I can get enough bandwidth on the road to do my job, and I can easily use 50-70GB/month. I do not consider this to be outlandish - files get bigger every day, data demands grow every day, and network speed and capacity must keep up with this trend. Land-line ISPs have no problem with this, Verizon is just greedy.
I use about the same 50 to 70 gigs a month. But I've upgraded so I'll be fine. I also live in the booneys, but we got 4g last year and I haven't noticed any throttling here. Good luck to others!

What do you mean by "but I've upgraded so I'll be fine"? I would love a new phone (currently on HTC Rezound) but refuse to give up unlimited data, even if it means buying a G3 or One M8 for full price.

I just bought the M8 on contract during their mother's day promo and kept my unlimited data. Just transfer your plan from your old phone (2 year contract fulfilled) to the new one.
Unfortunately you cannot rely on what the sals reps tell you. They told me I had to give up mu unlimited data, but I would get 5 GB/month instead of the standard 2 GB. After they'd done the switch I was still unlimited....
Yeah have multiple lines. Just transfered my upgrade, used it and my contract is resumed for another 2 years.

with foxfi, can you still receive calls without interrupting the internet connection?
I'm about to go back to an android (note 5) from an iphone6 and with the iphone, when a call comes in, I loose connection. The iphone is jailbroken.
With my rooted g3 using another tethering app, i didn't loose connection when i call comes in.
Its not a really big deal, but it is nice to stay connected while being on the phone.
FoxFi works...no interruptions with the connection...only negative is the notification pop-up...trusted certificate... 3rd party may be monitoring warning.

Got the update. 5.1.1. Added the Android Security Patch date im About Phonee. Tried to activate wifi calling but it keeps saying try again later. There are a few visual tweaks as well. I'm not super versed on emojis but since they are supposed to come with 5.1.2 I assume they are not included (I assume Samsung also has to make there awful version of them)
EDIT: figured it out. I had something disabled with package disabler that prevented it from being setup. I re-enabled all packages then worked fine then re-disabled the same ones. Working on figuring out the specific one.

Process of elimination has told me it has to do with the Verizon Login (red square with padlock and key in PackageDisabler) com.motricity.verizon.ssodownloadable that may be the culprit. But I was going by if it would let me update my address location for e911 since I had it activated. Hopefully that works for them!

Black friday was after the cut off, even though the date was 11/15 for the $20 fee it was really 11/14 any sims activated on 11/15 were charged. Anyone who upgraded before 11/14 should be fine until their contract expires...Verizon even said so in their press release. The $20 isn't so bad when you think about it, you can now have unlimited minutes with wifi calling and you can do DPP upgrades now which beats the hell out of paying full price for a phone.
I also renewed my contract on early November and locked in the same $29.99 pricing. VZW sent an email couple months back warning unlimited customers that this would happened on 11/15. My bill is still showing me the same price. Foxfi also works on the latest software update!
Question: How do you use wifi calling?
The new icons are horrible.

Anyone Using the Oneplus 7 Pro on Verizon in the U.S. and not having issues?

I'm seriously considering buying the Oneplus 7 pro as my next phone. My carrier is Verizon (I can't change it, it's for work) I'm having some second thoughts after reading on these threads about the issues people are seeing with Verizon. I'm curious if anyone has activated the Oneplus 7 pro on verizon that is not having issues with things like not being able to receive calls from iphones and not getting text messages on a wifi connection. This will help me make my decision on if I will move forward with purchasing this phone. Thanks a lot!!!
I have been using the 7Pro with Verizon for about 3 weeks. I have had no issues with Verizon since day one. I think maybe the first couple of days when I received a call from an unknown number it would show restricted on the caller ID. That issue was resolved with the first update I received. As far as activating the phone with VZW, all I did was move my apps from old Galaxy S8+ and then go online to VZW's website and activate my 7Pro and deactivate my S8+. Everything worked from the start. I have been very happy with my 7Pro and VZW.

Almost everything was working with just a sim swap. Except, I wasn't able to receive incoming texts at all, wifi, or on LTE. My sim is on a business line, and a quick call to Verizon help by dialing 611, and let him know I needed CDMA-less provisioning and we activated it, and tested it, and no further issues. I do get VoLTE, but obviously no wifi calling thru Verizon.

I actually used the OnePlus Switch app to move my apps and other files to my new 7Pro. It was rather easy to use. The only real issue I had after moving apps was I had to uninstall and reinstall a few apps because they would not load. https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/help/discussion-verizon-prepaid-oneplus-6t-t3864541
After successfully activating and using the OP6T on VZW prepaid, I simply popped my SIM into the 7Pro and everything worked fine. None of the issues you mentioned have occurred, in my experience.
You might simply put your current SIM into a 7Pro and see what happens. If you have problems, I'd recommend going to a CORPORATE Verizon store (not a franchise location) for help. They are much more savvy. Make sure that your account has CDMA-less and VoLTE active.
Good luck!

I'm Using mine on Verizon. So far the only issue I have had is visual voicemail. Since I have been on a custom ROM I think its fixed. I did have to call Verizon and have them do the CDMA less deal. I wasn't getting text messages. But it was quick fix. So far I'm liking it better than my pixel 2 XL
Thanks for this is red this is great news to me I have been holding off on buying the phone through OnePlus website. Wi-Fi calling is not really an issue for myself I don't think, forgive my ignorance I'm coming from Sprint where any outside phone you bring there is no way you can be on a call and data at the same time I forget what Verizon causes feature voice over data VOLTE? This is not a problem with Verizon and the OnePlus 7 I assume? Thanks

I had a 6T now the 7 Pro.
I'm not having any issues.
No issues here coming from the Pixel 3 XL. The OnePlus Switch app worked great and as it has been said previously, a few apps required that i uninstall, then reinstall them again to get them to work (maybe 2 out of 50). VOLTE works great and I typically have no issues. The only time I have ran into a problem is occasionally it will say I am connected to WiFi or LTE, but no data will transfer as if I am not connected. A quick reboot solves the issue, but it is not consistent enough to determine if it is an app, Verizon, or the phone itself. Happened maybe 3 times over the last 3 weeks. No Visual Voicemail is disappointing. Also, get a weird, jumbled text from Verizon after every Spam call I get. Will be getting on with Verizon support to see what that is about. Fingers crossed that Google will get it's stuff together with their RCS rollout and it makes it onto OnePlus devices. I can't really think of any deal breaker as far as bringing OP7P to Verizon. At least not for me. Will update if I can think of anything else.
Just to claify...No VVM transcription, video calling, Name ID and Wifi calling otherwise everything else works?

Mms/sms: yes
But more importantly VoLTE does work
(Ie. Using mobile data during a call)
Used to be a big issue on custom or non VZW ROMs on VZW
Do you have to do anything to get your hotspot to work properly the reason I don't buy phones from Verizon is I'm on the grandfathered unlimited data plan meaning I don't get throttled after using a certain amount of data it's only $10 more a month than their so-called unlimited plan they have offer now. If I switch to a Verizon phone they will make me sign up with dere new data plan which only offers 30 gigabytes a month and I would burn through that inside of a couple days. So the reason I've been sticking with my HTC u12 plus is the native hotspot on this international phone works right out of the box since it's not Verizon limited software. I just wondered does your hotspot work flawlessly?

Hi there so how about your phone does it do the hotspot without issue? I know Verizon branded phones you have to have their newer program to use the hotspot and they limit you at 30gb I'm on that old grandfathered plan like I've been mentioning and on my HTC u12 Plus I can tether to my heart's content because it's not Verizon's software limiting my usage of the hotspot. If the 1917 International model of this phone has the native hotspot working I'm buying this thing tomorrow.

Yes, the hotspot works just fine. My wife and I use it every day when our kids want to use their tablets when we're away from wifi. Multiple devices connected to the hotspot doesn't seem to slow it down.
I am no longer on the grandfathered plan, i recently switched to the 'above unlimited'.
But the plan i was on before had no problems with hotspot on this phone, nor my 6T.
But it did track the amount of usage. If we'd go over certain GB it would throttle the speed.
I read on the forums here somewhere there might be a way (by editing build.prop iirc) to trick VZW from telling the difference between mobile data and mobile data+hotspot. Ie, reading hotspot as mobile data only so you can go over your GB cap. I tried it, there were a few lines that weren't the same on this phone, and my family switched to the new unlimited plan before i could test it out
(I was hesitant to switch from my arsenal of HTC phones, too... ?)
I been on Verizon since op7 pro came out, don't know about iphone calls because haven't had any 1 call me who had an iphone. Hotspot worked on stock rom and now on RRS rom. Also issue with visual voice mail but regular works, verizon asks you to make a pin managed on their app

Im in the same boat as you I need to uprage but have a grandfathered unlimited data plan. Seems like the 1plus7 is the phone to get as samsung phones are now locked. anyway have has it worked out for you? did you get a specific model for it to work with verizen? did you root your phone once you got it? Let me know if I can ask you more questions.

I have a galaxy S7 edge. looking to upgrade I would like to get the one plus 7 Mclaren.
I have the Unlimited data grandfathered plan and would like to keep enjoying the hotspot.
I think this is the phone I want but does it meet the criteria? If you have your on verizon can you answer these questons?
1.does the hotspot work without paying verizon a bribe every month?
2.I would like add blocking so rooting it,? does it break the bank apps or fingerprint scanner?
3.are all models able to get on verizon or do I need a specific model? if so which one?
4.does it have any bloat ware like samsung?
