So I'm trying to unroot my S8. It's a verizon variant, G950U. I have partcyborg ROM installed, along with safestrap and TWRP.
I am using stock Odin 3.12 and it keeps giving me this message no matter what I do. (<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1))
I have tried using the latest USC firmware found on updato and no dice.
I have tried using the latest VZW firmware found on updato and no dice.
I cannot use chainfire because I have lost root and cannot get it back (SU binaries occupied)
I have tried extracting the PIT file and flashing that, no dice.
I'm really at a loss. I thought it would be easy peezy, just put it in download mode, flash BL, AP, CP and be done with it, but I'm not having any luck.
Any ideas on how to get me back to stock?
Did you try a modified odin? I've never rooted, but it seems like I've read that somewhere.

I think your knox counter was tripped (yes, you have it) and no, there is no safestrap available for this phone model.
If you're on the ml1 base you're stuck with root only. Any attempt to downgrade or flash a custom recovery will result in a softbrick.

Thank you

Can the warranty bit (at least as it's shown in Odin mode) be set or reset from 1 to 0?

Nope, not the warranty bit, only the flash count.

I was afraid of that. I need to send the device back to Verizon but soon as they see that they'll charge me something outrageous. Well, at least I know not to pay for the warranty coverage anymore. Thanks for you quick reply!!!
So I just got a refurb'd gs3 and I checked the apps and it doesn't appear to have Knox, but it's on 4.3? It says it's on build JSS15J.I535VRUCML1 and that the baseband is ML1, but there doesn't appear to be knox on it. Also, when I boot to recovery or whatever, it says Bootloader SWREV: 1 or something like that. Is it safe to assume that it was previously unlocked and I can install a custom rom or something? I was gonna try the standard saferoot at first.

Knox is there and your bootloader is still locked. You have to root with saferoot. Everything you need is here:

None of the solutions that were there helped at all
Hey guys, thanks for viewing.
Have a friend's N920T that is soft-bricked. The only information I have is that he tried to flash Note 7 ported rom. My guess is that he did not OEM Unlock the device before hand.
--DOWNLOAD mode reads--
Product Name: SW-N920T
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
FRP Lock: Off
Secure Download: Enabled
Knox Warrant void: 1 (0x8301)
AP SWREV B:4 K:1 S:2
and after Odin flash it follows with
"SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE 4, BINARY 2"
My guess is the AP SWREV related to this error message
I have tried flashing multiple odin firmware packages to no avail. (last package I flashed said it was DPG1 although I just realized it was DPD1
Any help/guidance would be much appreciated!
If he or she was on the latest firmware DPH2 then you can't downgrade to DPG1, I have already tried it. You can try flashing the DPH2 firmware found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68609915&postcount=5 see if that will work.
That was my dilemma, I wasn't sure what the latest firmware was.
Will try this firmware asap and post back. Thanks!

Hello,
I am trying to install Lineage OS 14.1 on my SM-G930R4 herolte device. I have tried multiple odin versions, ranging from 3.09 to 3.12.3. I am trying to flash to newest TWRP, but I did try twrp-3.1.1-0 aswell. Nothing has worked. The error I am getting in ODIN when using 3.10.6 and 3.12.3 is "Complete(Write) operation failed." and in 3.09 I am getting "NAND Write Start!!" where it gets stuck.
I have ticked OEM unlock and USB debugging. I have also spent awhile googling this issue. But I am not finding anything and am not skilled enough to figure this error out myself. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I'm having similar issues. Any luck?

I can fix it for you by teamviewer and in process i need your whatsapp number for convenience.
Everything I can find suggests the G930R4 is USA snapdragon. You can't flash TWRP on USA snapdragon models, bootloader is locked permanently and the unlock option in settings doesn't actually do anything for them.
