This vid shows how easy and simple it seems to take apart and peel the back cover although it's on another language. Just wondering has anyone done it already. Looks kind of cool

watch the jerry rig everything teardown. he does the same to his device. you will probably lose any water resistance though since you are tearing up the adhesive strip that holds the back panel on.
Get a case with a clear back, and have a custom skin made with the insides.
Put the skin on the back of the phone and the case on top.
They'll sell it on witrigs soon enough for like $45US

That would kinda work although it's too easy and fake.
I probably will if I break my back plate, because at that point, why not? I did it to my Samsung S8+, and loved it.
I won't be removing the back of the phone just to do it though. I prefer water resistance.

I had my phone since may 4th and today I noticed a scratch On the back of the phone and it seems that the coating got removed and the shiny layer is showing up. Any one with scratches on the back and how to get them removed or deal with them????

Out of curiosity, what color phone do you have? Care to take a pic?
I have a scratch on the back of my phone as well. I saw it as soon as I took the phone out of the box. It almost goes across the back right above the HTC logo.

Havent received mine today (I've got white on the way), but based on the material finish and type, I feel inclined to suggest that a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might do the trick since it's mildy mildly MILDLY abrasive but not enough to scratch the finish, but rather remove any surface impurities (similar to clay-barring a car's paint finish).

I have the grey HOX. I am still trying to figure out how it did scratch since it is in my pocket by itself all the time.
Will post pictures later
Maybe you can try some really really fine sandpaper to get back the matte finish. Don't try anything used for polishing.

Polycarbonate, from Wikipedia:
Polycarbonate is a very durable material. Although it has high impact-resistance, it has low scratch-resistance...

While encasing the phone in polycarbonate may make it nigh invulnerable, it does not ensure that it will remain pretty for its lifetime. Restoring polycarbonate to a gloss would be no issue (see headlight restoration), but restoring a matte finish will probably be difficult. I plan to Otterbox it and forget about it.

Already got the Otterbox on her...def takes away from the form factor, but I think I will leave it on for a while...just seems so sturdy, and protects the camera better than any other case I've seen thus far.
Hi.
Looking for an "invisible" cover for the back of the phone only, primarily for making the phone more "anti slip" rather than scratch protection or anything else. I don't want it to look intrusive though as I generally never bother with any protection on phones at all - I like them raw usually.
Can anyone recommend something? Even if it's part of a complete phone protection system where I can discard the rest. Remembering that ANTI SLIP is the prime goal! :silly:
Thanks in advance.

I am having a great day today so I though why not make another give away. I got accidentally two of these cover so one can go to someone who like it. It is made of hard plastic and protects the phone from sides. It doesn't cover the back, but I don't mind since I see my nice blue color of the phone cover. It has holes to attach the strap which is convenient when you take photos so it will not fall. You can see from pictures how it look on my phone. If you like it and would like to have it please PM me. I will give the priority to Europe and whoever will write first. Good luck. Shipping is free as well.
Best,
A.

I stumbled upon this today and thought it look great

Just wondered if anyone has done this with their S6?
and if so how did you go about re-attaching the glass after?

Zhanlida T-7000. It is black and it is very similar to the original. I prefer black because it does not turn yellow with light.
Do you have one to recommend me?

No. It is not waterproof anymore, but if I apply the glue very carefully I can seal it as much as possible. I just love the way it looks.

My Note 9 has glue and I was very careful applying it. I can not assure you that it is 100% waterproof but it has received humidity from rain, wet tables, etc and I have not had a single problem. I gave it to my brother and he loves it. I think that being carefull it can be waterproofed.
Jerryrigeverything and the other guys who make transparent phones just do it to show but not for daily use. I am confident that my phones are sealled. Time will tell but the note 9 has been transparent por months and is perfect.

Yes. I saw it but I preferred the original look. It would be great if the original battery color was red but I do not want to touch the battery.
OP, I have a quick question. Isn't there some sort of black "card" that covers the motor for the front camera? I think it contains the NFC antenna.
Did you lose any functionality (other that waterproofing) by doing this? I only ask because, once I break my back glass (and I'm sure I will eventually), I'll probably do this as well.
Looks good btw.

I removed the black cover to be able to show the camera motor and the board. I just lost NFC which I never use. Everything else works as expected.
In a couple of days I will post new pictures with the back glass glued and I think that I can make it waterproof again or at least splash resistant.

It was never water proof.
It was mildly water resistant. An not now.
