Hello!
A relative asked me to get a look on "No service" error on his Google Pixel. Since it had unlocked bootloader, I flashed latest Pie to it, didn't help.
What else can I try to figure out if it's a hardware or a software issue? Please help.

Yes, tried multiple SIM cards, which definitely work on other phones. I can see the correct phone number of SIM card in Settings - About phone.
Maybe you should tell us what you have tried so we don't have to guess.

I'm doing that as soon as I get an advice, so for now:
1. Seen the message about unlocked bootloader.
2. Reflashed using adb tool from https://developer.android.com/studio/command-line/adb and official image from https://developers.google.com/android/images
3. Tried different SIM cards from other functional phones.
Never mind. Tried fastboot --set-active=a using advice from another place, following reboot, now this Pixel is completely bricked.

Hello all. I found a thread on how to pull the unlock code off my tmobile galaxy s 4g using the embedded information on the phone. I tried this code with no success so I decided to give tmobile a call to get the code. So today I get an email with the code and it is the same exact one that I pulled off the phone and it still doesnt work. It this point I do not know what else to do. I tried both the apps from the andriod store with no success(helroz/ SGS Unlock) one says null and the other is blank where the code supposed to be. Does anyone have any ideas? My phone is the samsung sgh-t959v tmobile galaxy s which has been ungraded to 2.3.6 via klies mini and is rooted via superoneclick 2.3.3-shortfuse. Any help is appreciated.
Flash back to stock and walk into a T-Mobile store with your phone and the email.

You need to have a different carriers SIM card to use the code. Find a buddy who has ATT and put that SIM in the phone. Reboot and enter the code. Presto you're now unlocked.

So I decided to call the store before wasting gas and I am glad I did. The agent said there is nothing that they can do and I must call customer case to resolve this. Let the drama begin...

I used a digicel sim card that I have still active in another country (Jamaica) with the sim unlock attemps. The only other sim that I have laying around is an old metro pcs sim thats deactivated. I doubt it is the sim the phone is just not taking the code.

So your running stock/rooted and you've tried another carriers card. OK. I'm not sure whether that SIM has to be able to get connection or not. Next step would be to borrow someones card. I know when I unlocked mine I just popped in an ATT sim. Entered the code and that was it.
So I just got off the phone with customer care. They are saying that the imei on my account dosent match the phone I am requesting the sim unlock for so they have to correct that first before resending the code again. But what I dont get is why when i pull the hex code off of the phone the code matches the first unlock code they gave me. Both these things seem to tell me that the code is correct but why isnt the phone accepting it? I have 5 attempts remaining left and I have tried to reset it from some threads that I see but with no luck. Hope I dont end up with a useless phone. If I run a custom rom on my phone will it unlock it that way?
You need to be on stock to get the phone to accept the unlock code so don't flash anything else.
not to hijack, I'm on remics rom. If i were to put in a sprint sim and enter the unlock code that would not work?

I was having trouble bootloader unlocking my Telus locked Moto G, but I had seen somewhere that someone had sucess flashing a different firmware and then unlocking it. So I flashed the British Retail firmware and now I have no mobile network and it asks for an unlock code at each boot up. I've tried the Brazilian retail firmware to see if it would fix it but it didn't, pretty sure I need the Telus firmware.

I didn't say I didn't believe you.... When you say network lock when it says that is it a blank screen with a text box in the middle? Unless it really screwed up your modem cause when flashing other firmware it can really screw things up.

I have yet to find the Telus stock firmware. But what I've exsperinaced from other phones when the modem gets screwed up it messes with the efs and if it wasn't backed up there's no way to get it back. But in this case it's weird lol. Somehow your phone is locked to a network which I've never seen happen before.

Reflash stock and all will be OK, don't forget to wipe data. It happen to me a couple days ago.

The APN menu isn't very intuitive, you have to type in all the details then tap the three-dot-menu-button-thing on the top right and then tap 'Save'. Once you've done that, in the list of APNs you need to tap inside the little radio toggle along side the APN you just typed in on the list to select it and activate your settings.
Hope that helps.

Yes, very same problem, solved by flashing the stock telcel firmware (my carrier) also wiping data. It's a must in order to fix that. Otherwise you have no signal, home button don't work and power options are gone.

Hello there guys.
I have a tmobile one plus 7 pro.
I flashed my phone with this guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/how-to-convert-tmobile-op7-to-t3935947/
Everything works fine, no more tmobile logo when I boot... But the OEM unlock option is still grayed out.
Also, when I hold the volume UP, Down + insert USB cable, the phone connects to the MSM tool for 3 seconds, and disconnects right away. The phone is no longer staying in that mode.
I want to unlock this thing. :'(
Are you sim unlocked? Your sim has to be unlocked for the oem unlock to stop being greyed out.

I am not sure, how do I find out?
The only thing I did was I flashed my phone with the link I provided, and it did take effect because no more tmobile logo.
How do I sim unlock? do I depend on tmobile or is there something I can patch?
Thanks so much man

You have to either call t-mobile and have them unlock it, or there have been people on the forum who have been unlocking. You also will need to flash back to t-mobile fw

Follow the guide in this post to revert back to T Mobile:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...obile-one-plus-7-pro-msm-tool-revert-t3936528
I used this guide to get my T Mobile OP7Pro unlocked:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-unlock-sim-t-mobile-users-heres-how-t3935327
So there is the possibility of rooting without sim unlocking on tmobile if it's still possible. You have to find the q 3 beta use place the file in you sdcard directory update toggle the oem unlock. Find the a copy of the current firmware "update" them follow one of the many tutorial for unlocking your bootloader. I was able to do this but it was 2 months ago the might have since patched this method
www.xda-developers.com/t-mobile-oneplus-7-pro-root-tutorial/amp
I also suggest you do some research before just asking questions. I took me two weeks to find that when I was looking.
Howdy all,
I'll try to keep things brief but informative.
Yesterday I got the unlock bin for my T-Mobile Oneplus 7 Pro. I unlocked it, flashed LineageOS (latest 17.1), Magisk (19.04 but then updated to latest after install), DM-Verity, and TWRP (unified Q version).
I have installed Nethunter, F-Droid, and some other basic apps.
I just got a new SIM Card from T-Mobile and activated it last night, however it shows the same as the empty SIM slot (which my phone doesn't have a physical second slot) and on the lock screen at the top left rotates between saying: "No SIM card" "No SIM card - T-Mobile" "No SIM card - No service". In the phone the top right does not show any bars, x'ed out or otherwise, however one time after taking it out, googling, then putting it back in it sis appear x'ed out until reboot.
I cannot send texts as it says no preferred SIM card selected, and I cannot make calls due to a lack of service; however, I can receive texts and calls and even answer calls and speak to the calling party just fine.
I was getting nothing, then I saw where someone received a text and it fixed it for them, so I texted myself, got a backlog of texts, but nothing else came of that.
I have no idea what to do from here and only vauge idea of why it may be like this but no understanding of it.
I found this reddit post seeming to detail the issue, but I do not know if it applies to me (presumably does) and I do not understand any of the information in the post, nor do I know what to do with this information:
reddit.com/r /oneplus /comments /gb5jlk /factory_reset_no_sim_card_detected_oneplus_7_pro /
(sorry for the spaces, can't post outside links until after I've posted 10 posts)
and with that I'm all out of idea and knowledge. My background is in Offensive Security, but I know very little about SIM Cards and smart phones so all help is greatly appreciated!

I didn't do it so I'm going to assume it is not. I've only unlocked the bootloader (obviously). How would I go about unlocking the SIM?
Also, the original carrier was T-Mobile and the SIM is also T-Mobile, I assumed this would be ok but is there an issue since I didn't unlock it yet I installed custom stuffs - or what would be causing an issue by not unlocking it? (just trying to learn more )

How did you root?
Did you grab a patched boot image or did you boot with the TWRP image and install Magisk yourself?
Grabbing the wrong image is the number one thing that causes WiFi and SIM issues.

If you didn't use the msm tool to get you back to the T-Mobile firmware, then you probably aren't on T-Mobile firmware. I had the same issue trying to get lineage to work, and was able to get back to stock and have data.
Since you probably don't have the bootloader unlock code, you need to convert to international firmware, and fully update to at least 10.3.2 before you flash lineage. If you don't, you won't have service.

I did use the MSM tool, it's locked, has the T-Mobile boot animation and everything.
I do have the unlock file & code, I had to wait a week to get it.
Okay, so let me start off the S20 I'm writing about is the T-Mobile Variant and I'm trying to run it on Verizon and I have run into a road block.
The phone is seeing the service from the Verizon chip and my account is seeing the phone but it is not allowing texts or calls and not mention my account flags this phone as *SAM SG20 DOM-SM* too and I don't know what it means.
The steps I have tried to no avail is factory reset, manually adding APN settings, manually adding the imei to my account so if anyone has any ideas I'm game to try them.

Your phone is unlocked soo.
Unfortunately, IN the USA there isnt a unlocked version of the firmware for your phone.
You'll probably be stuck with the apps unless you can uninstall them with ADB.
