I am wondering if the camera is an upgrade from V40. I am also wondering if the Quad DAC tuned by Meridian sounds as good or better than V40.
Who else is ordering?
I can see them listed on ebay. Very tempting.

Check Wonda Mobile, it may not be the European version but it's a lot cheaper, so waiting for the price to drop or when more LG G8 become available!
I'm in Canada. My carrier is Bell mobility. Bought the Korean version LG V50 with dual screen as a package. Bought it on eBay. I'm loving my day to day use on it, it's a excellent kickass product.

Sadly not available in the UK via eBay, I wonder how it compares to the G8 as this would be my first LG phone.
In the UK the V50 will be quite pricey on contact so Wonda might be an option. I'm weighing up getting the V50 or something like the Lenovo Z6 Pro which is getting a global release this Thursday on Aliexpress - Lenovo's official store having a sale I think. Lenovo Z6 Pro is only £400 - looks a great bargain.
Both LG and Lenovo don't have a great track record of updating Android but Lenovo might be improving as two updates have been issued since the Z6 Pro was released in April.

Prices are in dollars, and delivered by Fedex .
I ordered on a Monday and got it on the Friday of the same week.
I followed it on tracking and was a bit jealous as it took a tour round Paris before getting to me,
After getting the phone I received an email from fedex with a £25.00 charge for import duty.
Hope this helps.

Forecast price in UK is £805 for the handset only and over £100 for the second screen. I can't find a price for the second screen by itself.
I think I'm on or about the price it will go for in the UK. However EE have exclusive rights in The UK or at least they say they do so I don't know if you will be able to buy a sim free phone in the near future in the UK.

I've one. Cinese version. No problem in Italy with this version
I got the phone from wonda three days ago. The phone is amazing.
Although I wish the UI could look more stock like Asus or Nokia.
I'm thinking of getting one, but I first need to know if it is rootable

Hi guys
Would it be worth going from Samsung Galaxy SII to a Moto. It seems like a grea but Im not sure its worth it. Is the camera better or worse then
current GSII.. Don't need it for music youtube alot..
Thx guys.
Well Moto G is an upgrade from the GSII, specially if you consider that the Motorola hardware and bechmarks are compared to the GSIII, although Moto G is 175$ cheaper. The only thing that you would miss upgrading is the camera, the GSII camera is pretty good even these days.
Touch control the only bit
It is worth it, cheap, unlocked and feels great in my hands if I could install touch control I would no miss my nexus 4 at all. The battery seems to be better than the nexus 4 too.
I say go for it.
Is ti worth paying $275 cad for it with in store activation.Activation is $35. Either that or Telus charges $60 to take device without activation.

Another Canadian user here -- depending on where you are, you can buy an unlocked Moto G from the US website (can't post a link, but google "Moto G" and it's the first or second result), as long as you can get it shipped to a US address. Then it's just a hop across the border away.
Other thing is, I don't know about Telus, but I did call Koodo when this phone came out and the rep said that if I bought the phone from them, it'd be SIM-locked to Koodo. I see that you're on Telus, but if having an unlocked device is important to you, you might want to get it elsewhere.

I bought from Koodo for $200 outright, plus tax, the week it came out. The Telus stores refused to sell outright, and when I pushed it I was told I could buy outright from the Telus website, or wait a few months. A 2nd store said they could sell outright in a week or so.
I think Google/Motorola's deal requires carriers to sell outright if asked, which is why Telus website outright buys had to be allowed.
Here in Canada we're SUPPOSED to have new regulations in place requiring carriers/sellers to unlock them on demand, more or less immediately I think, with no charge, if you buy a phone outright.
That's my read on the new regs, I'm not sure how right I am or how well that's going yet.
Anyway, it's only a few bucks to get an unlock code on EBay or wherever.

Do not get it from Telus, try going to FutureShop, Best Buy, or The Mobile Shop. Buy it from Koodo on a $150 tab, activate, get $100 in gift cards, then cancel after 30 days. It's a lot cheaper and you don't need to sign a conttract.

Damn, I guess they have switched to in-store only pricing.
For the money that Telus wants, I would look into getting it from the US via Amazon or Motorola. It should be unlocked and you could get the GSM or international version.
I'd say the Moto G is a definite upgrade over the S2.
Been looking at ebay I may just bite the bullet and pay $200 for phone $10 for sim and activation fee. I guess Moto G is considered a contract phone as live chat says I should not pay either of those fee's.

If you buy direct from Motorola, it's $199 even (your screen shot show $199.99). I don't know if you have Amazon Prime, but you won't have to pay shipping if you do. I assume you'd have to pay shipping from Motorola. Tax will depend on where you live, of course. We, here in Texas, get charged tax from Amazon, but that free shipping with Prime is nice.
As far as your question about the global mode working in the US, there have been a few threads about that; I believe in the Q&A section of the Moto G forums. Basically, it will work, but depending on your area, and who you choose to use as a service provider, you may or may not get the HSPA+21 speeds. The US model is more likely to get you the faster speeds here in the US (especially if you use T-Mobile).
I have Amazon prime, and before I bought mine I compared the final in-cart price for both amazon & Motorola. It was about a dollar cheaper on the Motorola site, both with free 2-day shipping.

Got mine from Amazon. Motorola is apparently having issues with orders getting canceled and what not. Just make sure that it is actually sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party seller. All the Moto G unlocked phone cost the same new AFAIK $199. Look at swappa.com there is one for sale at $195 used. Only thing cheaper is going to be a carrier locked handset. Global will work just like the US version, except slower speeds on T-Mobile verses the US model. The difference is one band for HSPA+ (3.5G) compare the bands with your carrier. Also, the Global version shows the carrier name in your status bar while the US version does not. I would go for the US version unless you go out if country a lot because that one appears to get updates sooner as apparent by the KitKat updates.

The only thing I could add in favor of purchasing through Amazon is they give you reward points to spend on future orders. Of course, you need to use Amazon at some future point to benefit but if shop with them on even a semi-regular basis, this might be a consideration.
I decided to buy a Nexus 5 (16GB version), in my country (Eastern Europe) it is about $625 (including standard 2 year warranty).
And one of my friends told me that he'll be visiting Japan, so I want to make him buy for me. If he can find one i estimated the price to be around $475 including the registration fee and taxes to my country, but I learned that the warranty would not be valid in my country. And my friend does not know too much about these devices.
So would it be worth the risk, or should i just buy from my country?
Thanks.

Well, it seems to come down to whether the two-year warranty is worth $150, which works out to $6.25/mo. I would say that's a pretty good deal.

Does anyone have any idea when the UK shipments will be going out? Has anyone preordered from Clove? I am US based and patiently waiting my shiny new S8+. It seems the US based orders have already started rolling out so hopefully we see some movement for the UK devices next week.
delivery on all pre orders from the main shippers (samsung, carphone warehouse, very, argos) will be 20th april. clove are a reputable site so they should ship around that date assuming they will get stock 8 days early like the main suppliers. also add international shipping and import tax if held.

Is it typical to get hit with import tax?
Just checked the most it would be is 1$ per value and item. So shouldn't really be an issue.
I'll get mine wednesday the 19th from Amazon (I live close to Turin Italy). With the best price option I'll pay 872€
I ordered from Clove too but they say ships on 04/28.
Just a heads up, if you ordered from Clover Tech they are stating they don't expect any stock until the 28th. Kinda sucks as I pre-ordered from them being in the US and all I didnt have much of a choice for the Eyxnos variant anyways. Other suppliers in UK are already shipping but it looks like Clover is not a supplier such as Very, Samsung themselves and carriers.

Sorry to rub it in, but I received my Clove Monday. They shipped Friday. DHL got it across the pond over the weekend. Hi,
I ordered my 7 Pro from Amazon prime since it was guaranteed next day shipping; store was swiftronics.
Everything seems to be okay but when paying attention to the content of the box, nothing is in english. The documentation, welcome note from the owner/CEO, everything is in mandarin/cantonese. Also, when I do a factory reset, instead of "wiping partitions" or whatever is written at the bottom of the progress bar, it's also something in a language I don't understand.
I also noticed that when I boot it up, for 2-3 seconds, i'll see the oneplus logo, the "powered by android" at the bottom and it won't be centered, as if it was an image for a different resolution phone. After those 2-3 seconds, screen goes black and then the same logos come back but this time they are centered.
Should I be worried that I was sold a unit made for the Asian market? I don't care so much about documentation but I know China for example has its own restrictions for the internet and I don't want to have those in Canada.
In the about phone, it says Model GM1910, Oxygen OS 9.5.11.GM21AA.
Would it be different hardware for North America / Canada?
Quick update, I checked with the online chat with OnePlus and it's definitely a device made for China, not north america. It seems to work fine but I might try to return it and buy it again directly from OnePlus instead.

Thank you. I'm not concerned about documentation but the off center logo I find weird and you confirming that the bands are different makes me more confident that I should return in and buy one from Oneplus canada directly.
I'll just go back to my 6T for a few days while figuring out the return with Amazon.

So yours came with Hydrogen and you flashed Oxygen? Mine came with OxygenOS so I have a feeling this seller buys phones, flashes them to OxygenOS, and re-sells them as international.

Yeah I think that is very likely the case bc your model is should only be sold in China and all oneplus phones sold in china comes with hydrogen.
Just an assumption, as Chinese models are sold at a relatively lower price, maybe your seller purchased them in China and shipped them there to get the price lower.

The chinese 8+256 model costs 4499 CNY (around 637 USD), the model I found on op US official website costs 699 USD, but on amazon the price is 850 USD, not sure what the deal is there.

I noticed that too, hence why I bought it from OnePlus in USA directly and not Amazon.

On Amazon Canada, the version with 8gb/256gb was 949$CDN with next day shipping thanks to Prime. On the OnePlus store, it's 939$ but it ships from California so it takes longer to get to Canada. Not long but a few days longer.
Other reason I wanted to buy from Amazon is that I knew I'd love the phone but I was concerned about the size. Since our family buys a LOT from Amazon, I would not be too concerned about returning a phone if the size was a huge issue.
Turns out it's big, really big, but I can get used to it. What I don't want though is to have a phone for the next two years that might not be perfectly setup for north America.
I returned the Amazon phone last week and will order from OnePlus once they confirm my credit card has been credited.
It might not be a big problem but I plan on keeping the phone for awhile and I want to make sure it's perfect. It being a model for the Chinese market would bug me every day so I didn't want to keep it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that since it's made for China, it should come with hydrogen OS but it came with Oxygen OS so it's possible that store opens the phones, flashes oxygen OS, then repackaged them as "new from factory"

The listing I found (the one I bought) has no mention of being a China model: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0...392-182d8c1e93fc&pf_rd_r=BXHY5GGBGWZ139E82XCY

Do you get a one year warranty? If not, send it back to Amazon and order from OnePlus. Not having band 71 on the Chinese model is moot, since only t mobile USA uses it.

As you clearly are not comfortable with the actual situation and as long as you still have the return window open, there is no other way to happiness except returning the phone to Amazon and buy another one from oneplus. You will never have peace of mind knowing that the seller did that trick to make the phone international...

I hate returning stuff because I'm really happy with the phone and I'm not sure how much money merchants lose on returns. I don't think they were dishonest, but I think it qualifies as selling something not exactly as advertised.
Lesson learned, I bought my 6T directly from OnePlus, I should have done the same for my 7 Pro.
