if the status of the bootloader your phone is "unlocked bootloader allowed = YES", then you can root your phone,if the status = NO then might not be able to

Open phone app, input *#*#7378243#*#*, tap "service info" "Configuration", then find "Bootloader unlock allowed".
If it said "Yes", you can get your unlock code on https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader/ ; If it said "No", then...It was a great pity that your phone can't be rooted.
By the way, the SOV32 is customized version of au.

For now there's no way we can unlock bootloader because our device is using mediatek chipset..unlike others Xperia device which using Qualcomm chipset..
Just let Sony unlock the bootloader in the upcoming updates. ... u will get to know this in the same above menu where the status will become yes!
Sent from my GT-I8552 using XDA Free mobile app

What's your E3 model : D2212 (3G Dual Sim) or D2203 (4G LTE mono SIM)?
You can know that in your phone by following these steps :
1.Go to Setting/parameters
2.Scroll at the bottom and select "About Phone" (or Device)
3.Look at "Model Number"

1.In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
2.Go to Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If bootloader unlock allowed says "Yes", you'll can root your phone. If it says "No", or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked and rooted.
Mine says yes

Hi,
-First you can't change it to yes
-Second You can't root your device for the time being cause you need an unlocked bootloader
-Third there's no way to unlock a bootloader unless you have "Unlocked allow yes"
-Fourth be polite next time and say at minimum "Hello" please
Assalam o alaikum!
I've found a software on YouTube to change bootloader status no to yes

I don't think so, we're talking about bootloader so it can f*cked up anytime I think it would be better to don't play with it if we're not sure.
This is just an advice, do what you want to do after that, I'm just giving my thought no need to follow it if you don't want to
What is the logic behind this?
I mean some devices are unlockable and some are not!
What this actually mean?
Well! Can i install custom recovery on locked bootloader?

Nope, you need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash anything.
So it simply means i can't flash any recovery, rom or root my device
That pretty much mean you can't do anything right now sorry bro
It means I've to sale out my device
And buy other brand like LG or HTC
Or exchange it against another unlockable one ?
I don't know, do as you like, sorry for you, just bad luck
http://bootloaderunlock.com/
I've found a video tutorial on YouTube with a link to download software to unlock the bootloader of devices those shows the status "Bootloader unlock allow:No"
Here is the video link
Beware a lot of fake videos are running through the Internet, I warn you, but as I said before do as you like.
If I were you I would not play with bootloader, either I change phone, or I wait for a locked bootloader tuto.

Did you try this? I found this video a while ago, decided not to try it
Why not to try it?
Okay now i decided to not to play with my z5 and change my device
Wise choice, still sorry for you mate
Thanks but this is definitely my last device from sony
This ain't Sony who's responsible, this is your provider.
I'm French I have a Z5 (no prenium no compact)
From Bouygues Télécom, and it ain't locked I'm actually rooted running a custom Rom everything is fine.
This is between you and your luck, you and your provider

Can't unlock bootloader Xperia Z3

I want to install a custom ROM and recovery on my Z3 but I can't find a way to unlock the bootloader. Even with the FlashTool it doesn't seems to work. I tried downgrading to an earlier version but everytime my phone gets bricked unless I use the last version available.
Thanks
Go to dialer. Type *#*#7378423#*#*
In service menu navigate to service info, configuration, and you will see a line that says "bootloader unlock available: yes" or "no"
If it says no then you will not be able to unlock the bootloader as it is factory locked to this state.
If it says yes then follow the Sony guide to bootloader unlocking Z3. They will email you the unlock code and details of how to proceed.

That's correct.
Unfortunately not all devices can be unlocked and there's no way to change that status.

how did you find out that your BOOTLOADER unlock is NOT allowed?
anways if your device's bootload cannot be unlocked then you cannot do anything!
however there is only one solution! , DOWNGRADE YOUR DEVICE TO ANDROID 5.1.1 ( use flashtool > Xperifirm > 2015 device z5(samuri)--take firmware "service Exchange Unit" form list(thats android 5.1.1) on which z5 was actually left SONY FACTORY)
once your downloaded firmware, close xperifirm and FLASHTOOL automatically trigger making ftf file for you ,
flash this firmware and TRY ROOTING it with KINGROOT or KINGOROOT , as ANDROID5.x.x had xploits and kingroot and root it.
now you have z5 device ROOTED (LOCKED BOOTLOADER).
and if even KINGROOT have no strategy then I don't have any other options for you

That means by downgrade firmware I can root my device, but no surety for that. And no custom rom also.
I bought a second hand device. Now I am planing to sell it
Thanks for the reply.

all the best, if you wana stick to Xperia Line then I would suggest for you
XZs or XZP
make sure you check the boot unlock status on display pieces, XZs can be rooted after boot is unlocked where XZP , you must buy $20 utility and run it for every update.
BOTH DEVICES , DRMKEYS cannot be BACKED UP
for z5, til XZ, drm keys can backed up!
i have Z5 Docomo AU model SOV32, and i want to custom rom mine, but when i check the Bootloader Status is "No".

No, you cannot install custom ROM on that device . next time when you buy xperia device check Bootloader Status before hand.
No tips, No way. (so said)
I tried this but can't root so far even with Kingroot or KingoRoot.

Xperifirm always give you an option of downloading the latest rom for your device. My device is Sony Z5 so therfore I can donwnload nougat 7.1.1 from experfirm. Now coming to the point as you said earlier about lollipop 5.1.1
How you can download an older version of rom from xperifirm. I never find the way how do you?
