There aren't any places around here where the Pixel 3a is on display so I couldn't test it myself. Would someone please go to vsynctester.com and test how close to 60Hz the display is? A test on the 3a XL is also helpful.
Thanks in advance.
There you go
Thanks. About 59.92. That’s pretty good.
If someone with an XL is out there, I would appreciate the results from that as well. I don’t want to clutter the forums with another thread for the XL.

Hello. I am new to the forum and a bit of a shutterbug. I have been having trouble discerning between variations in colors on some of my outdoor shoots. My friend gave me a few websites where you can take color tests. He gave me this one in particular eyesocialeyes.com/color-quiz-plus/ and I seem to be deficient in the color vision department. Has anyone ever had this problem and do you have any tests to try or tips to help? Thanks
I suggest you go to see an eye doctor. They can give you a proper diagnosis and go from there. Since this thread has nothing to do with mobile device development, I will now close it.
Hello XDA,
Tryin to keep it short & sweet, bare with me please. I’m having this weird contrast dissimilarity across the display of my Galaxy S7. Some regions of the display are having dark contrast level and some being relatively high (making it bit white-ish), especially noticeable in dark colors or any grey shades.
Of course I did research around a bit before posting this and found lot of people having the exact issue and I don’t mean to create a duplicate thread.
Just want a little help from you guys, fellow Galaxy S7 users. I’ve linked to some images below which can easily show this issue if you have. This was used by someone else and was able to easily spot it without displaying a plain mono color image. So those who are even confident about not having this issue at all also can go ahead download & display the images on your display.
Please post the results here preferably pictures. Because I really doubt whether this issue is normal with AMOLED considering this is already my 3rd replacement but it disturbs me a lot seeing this with a 700$ phone.
**I have also linked my condition with an illustration since it’s hard to capture mine in camera.
Thanks a lot <3

Lately (since oreo i believe), a lot of phones affected by this weird bug. When you touch the screen, and move your finger really slowly, the OS ignores that slight accurate movement. After a couple of milimeters movement, it then recognize the movement, creating a sudden jump in detection .
It is not a sensitivity issue, because right after you touch the screen, it detects your finger. But the OS maybe choose to disregard that slight accurate movement as accidental.
In my experience, the same thing occurs in Sony XZ2, P20 Pro (now fixed since 120 firmware), in smaller extent in Mix 2s, and yes in OP6 as well (alo not as pronounced but definitely there).
Most users wont be aware of this issue, but avid fps gamers who needs accurate aiming might be troubled in getting their frags.
Check out these videos, one is of oneplus 6, and the other one as a comparison pixel 2 xl with almost zero deadzone.

Anyone else experiencing this "problem"? Still experiencing it on 5.1.6 ..
Huawei recognized this problem and fixed it. So this bug is definitely fixable.
Here is the thread from p20 pro forum
Here is the thread from XZ2 forum
Just test it with the multi-touch app and i can see it too.
But honestly, I was not aware of the issue. I didn't notice a thing in normal use.
Have you reported this to OP?

Yes under normal daily use it is definitely not noticeable..
Btw, how to report to OP? Oneplus forums?
I have it as well,
Mine is very annoying because every content that I wanna see is very frustrating because every tiny bit of a swipe makes the page go down or up a lot and fast
Is there any fix to that?

Done.. Hopefully they recognize the problem and escalate this.. Loving the phone, but too bad it's unusable to play my kind of games

if you touch, hold, slowly slide your thumb to aim, will it follow instantly? Or does it have slight delay until it recognize your precise movement?
just a shot in the dark , But try disabling pocket mode under advance see if that makes a difference.
Can anyone report on how the screen displays in the sunshine? I've read that pictures turn out well in bright sun. On my N5X, I could barely see the screen to take pictures outside. I live in Florida so sun is usually there.
I read a Tom's Guide review which reported that 3a XL was not so great in the bright sun.
Just for in from taking my kid to the bus stop and it performed better than my Nexus 5x did.

These "positives" for my needs are pushing me to buy! It's the wifi calling I really need but wanted to be able to see the screen in the sun. Because of the rising costs, I never thought I'd be looking at a Google phone again. I guess i'm not cured from the Google bug.
I didn't have any issues with my screen in sunlight.

Appreciate your input.
Same here, no issues. I came over from the LG G7 which had a crazy bright screen at around 1000 nits on its highest setting. Yes, the Pixel 3a is not as bright, but it is just fine. I am very impressed by the quality of the device and the screen overall. Very happy so far! Also, the performance of the phone has been great. Hard to tell that it is using a slower processor unless you are literally comparing it side-by-side with a phone that has a SnapDragon 845 or 855.
Hello, does anyone have a problem with green tint on Oppo the same as OnePlus 8 pro have. Interesting i had OnePlus 8 pro and have problems with green tint
I have sam problem with my Oppo Find X2 Pro. First didn't believe but after realised that have same problem. I bought another one and much lower but still exists. That can be noticeable on Chrome dark theme on 10-15% level brightness
No I am ok with my CPH2025 UAE model.
No Problem here too CPH2025 EU
Very strange,i am glad that you don't have any issue,my device is EU model from Germany, both of them have same problem. First one have much more issue than this one. Both of them i unpack, new sealed...at day light it's hard to see but you must be in absolute dark environment and open Chrome, dark mode, close all tabs and bring device to 10-15% brightness. And watch carefully display colour. Is it all grey or have some variations to another colour, somewhere lighter somewhere darker?

Yep, had 2x OP8 Pro and 2x Find X2 pro and all had issues in absolute dark with min brightness
+ dark band from punch hole
It was more prominent on OnePlus
OP8 Pro bought directly from OnePlus
X2 pro bought from German dealers
Sent from my OPPO Find X2 Pro using XDA Labs

Agree man. But i am wondering is there any device without that problem i will get it ???. But if all are effected it's ok than.
Everyone that tells you that they don't have an issue are either lying or ignorant. Also you think it's bad now? Turn on DC Dimming (Low-brightness flicker-free eye comfort) and then have a look ?
OP8/Pro and Find X2/Pro have the same Samsung display, even S20 variants and Note20 have the same grey low brightness uniformity issue it just depends how well they hide it. Supposedly the technology for AMOLED screens isn't up to par to keep the quality consistent at 120 Hz refresh rate. Now don't misunderstand me - it isn't right and I don't feel like playing silicon lottery with my 1000€ device and if someone gets proof the issue is here because of cutting costs I'm all for class action lawsuit/forcing them to make a new and better batch but so far it seems like we're part of a screen "beta" test. Still the calibration seems better on the Oppo flagship so get that one if you don't mind the locked bootloader and find a lower priced model.

Agree man with all you said. I feel the same. I paid 1000€ and really don't like to see display like that. As you said do something and hide it ??. 3 x Oppo 1 orange two black have dame issue more or less noticeable 1 of two OnePlus have catastrophic issue but second one i think he have almost no issue . I would like to know is there any way to do to made this gone?

That's what I'm talking about. It's not big deal but we didn't get devices for free. It's pretty nice price. They should fix that
