Hi! I have made a clean flash of the last Pie update (downloaded it from Sammobile and flashed it with Odin, totally clean flash). The flashing process went ok, but I have realized that the screen doesn't turn on as notifications are received, unlike it used to do just some days ago... Is anyone experiencing the same issue? I flashed the last PHE Pie spanish update.

Hi
When I got the phone the day it came out, I rooted it right away, so no more OTA updates.
Since then I have seen on Sammobile that there have been 2 updates since that date I bought the device.
The buildnumber is LRX22G-G920FXXU1AOCV
Baseband version is G920FXXU1AICW
I downloaded this http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/45394/G920FXXU1AOCV_G920FNEE1AOCN_NEE/ and flashed it succesfully, then downloaded CF-Autoroot and rooted again (as root was gone after the flash)
But the thing is, I haven't seen a single change after the updates. Some people said the memory problems was fixed. Also the time to alarm is ringing should be back(Like, if setting it at 11pm to 1am, it tells you, that there is two hours to the alarm rings), but I don't have that.
So my question, how do I check I have the latest update while rooted? Also I have done it right, right? Download newest firmware, flash it and then reflash root.
Thanks in advance
Hi all, first post here, as a brief introduction... I have bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 a couple of weeks ago and recently it has been a constant pain in the.... mind
Currently I have G920FXXU2BOFJ Baseband and it constantly crashes, even without doing anything. The crashes/reboots are completely random and very annoying. I have tried to update the firmware to a latest version from France (which had some updates for Android 5.1.1, file name G920FXXU2BOG8_G920FOXA2BOG8_XEF) but the problem persists.
Trying to revert the firmware to the original I made a mess so I'm currently using Smart Switch as I write to recover the phone from the dead. Any ideas on how to solve these freezing issues? Anyone else having them? I thought it was a hardware problem, but I can leave the phone in Download Mode for as long as I want without issues (not very useful as a smartphone that way though ) However, even in the Wipe Data/Cache mode it still freezes.
Thanks!

Reflash with new updated French 5.1.1 ROM via odin.

Hello,
I have a Galaxy S6 running the latest 6.0.1 XEF stock ROM (no root) before Nougat.
I have choosen not to update to Nougat for the moment as I prefer to wait for better Nougat releases.
I was quite sure the settings of my S6 were set in order to disable search/install of updates. But yesterday, while connected to my network using Wifi, my S6 has started to download the Nougat updates! But, as I said, I don't want it for the moment. I stopped Wifi, then it stopped downloading the updates. I tried to go to the update settings of the S6 to disable updates but it is not possible now to go the "About device > Software update". And each time I connect to WIFI, it resumes the download of the update .
In the application manager, I found 2 apps related to "Software update": for only 1 of them it is possible to stop it and remove cache and data, which I did. I thought I would have cancelled the download of Nougat update and bring me back the possibility to disable update. But unfortunately, it has no effect. I also tried to wipe cache partition, but the same: it has no effect and each time I connect Wifi, it resumes the download of the update.
So, how I can cancel the download of the update and be able to access to the settings to prevent from downloading/installing it??
Thank you for you help!
There's no need, Nougat is stable now.
If you still doesn't want, let it download the update (because you can't cancel it) then block notifications from both updates apps from the settings.

Really? Latest release for XEF has still the same changelist and I read several complains regarding battery life and lags into the Gallery app for example...

I had very bad battery life on Nougat, i was on UAE firmware. When i bought this second S6 i made a decision to stop using custom roms so i tried to flash another firmware, took the last XEF ( from April) and flashed it 2 weeks ago, my battery improved a lot specially in standby , no issues or whatsoever.
Thanks for your feedback!
phone is full, now what?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but it seems the best fit.
Basically the same question as above: "How do I cancel an OS update download in progress" on my Samsung S6
Reasoning is a little different though. Accidentally I started the update process but during the download my phone ran full.
And as you might know, with a full phone some apps dont work.
Of course Android gives me the option to remove files and apps but immediately the free space is occupied by the running update....
Any ideas?
tia!
Ever since I upgraded my Verizon S8+ to firmware G955USQS1AQI6 two months ago, I have been noticing decreased battery life (last night my phone lost 22% with aod turned off, most of the drain coming from Android System and Android OS) and more stuttering in general, which is why I have been scared to install anymore updates on my phone. I want to downgrade to the G955USQU1AQGL firmware, which was what I had before installing the crippling update. The question is, if I flash the firmware to my phone from my computer using Odin, will I lose any data? I am asking because a factory reset is ABSOLUTELY the last thing I want to do for my phone.

Yes you will. No you can't do it without a factory reset.
Backup your stuff first
Hi there,
Sorry for the noob(ish) question but I've lost base some time ago and now I thought I might look into getting the phone updated if possible.
This is European 034 dual-SIM version, Oreo 1.30.401.2, unlocked bootloader, running Magisk now.
I did some research through the forums (spent whole evening on this) and only got confused. I'm not looking for spoonfeeding, just clear answer what should be my path if I want to get the Pie - is it worth on U12+ btw?
I'm familiar more or less with cli and adb, twrp are no news to me as well.
Many thanks

first step, flash RUU Oreo on your device. This provedure erases everything, all files, twrp too.
Then search update from settings and install updates up to Pie.
So install,if you want, twrp magisk ecc...
When somebody will release Ruu Pie, we could skip previous procedure
I will update you about my last night. I have tried to update the phone but I've flashed the Exodus rom instead of Imagine.
Took me most of the night and morning to get it back up and running - the fix was to use force update script I found on 4pda. Im running rooted Pie now.
