P30 pro vs OP 7 Pro - OnePlus 7 Questions & Answers

Hi guys. I bought a p30 pro 256gb Aurora 2 weeks ago.
So far I'm very happy with it but I'm thinking to switch to 7 pro.
What do you say?
Thank you

I'd say wait until we get it in our hands... ??

Clearly you will be little disappointed with the latter's front and back cameras in conparison to the former but then will be way more happy with OxygenOS, display and "fast at everything" nature.
...Rest, let's see

Why? Why u think about to switch?

I'm just thinking of it with no reasons don't know hahaha.
Let's see how the cameras will compare and we will see.!!
P30 Pro 256gb Aurora Power

I would switch only for the software and screen

i have a pixel3xl
i had a P30 pro but i hated the camera, everything i captured looked over-processed, fake selfie cam looked artificial, and beautified (even with it turned off), made me look alot brighter so i went back to my P3XL
im hoping the OP7P can hold its own against the top tier phones.

Weeks back, Wired chatted with the Imaging Director of OnePlus Simon Liu who said:
"I think we have a shot at competing with the first tier phones, I don’t think we can beat them, but the imaging world is always subjective."
Full story link:

......hence, better to keep the expectation low, lower than what the top tiers deliver.

i think "the imaging world is always subjective" gives a good indication it may perform as well
i mean look at the pixel 3xl and the p30 pro - some people swear that the p30 pro shoots better, but to me the P3XL is so much better in shots, i guess it is subjective and good idea on keeping the expectations low

When corporations do not have anything soild to justify in a particular subject matter, they generally use such terms. Especially, OnePlus has been hyping bigtime in anything they are good at(take "speed" as just one example) from the very beginning. What I've understood throughout years from OnePlus is they maintain a low profile in that particular aspect where they trail behind competition by quite a margin.
As for P3XL & P30Pro both are superbly excellent in their own terms with both having some minor cavities here and there, but OnePlus would be nowhere near either of them....I will be very happy if what I am guessing now turns out to be wrong later....!!!

So guys u think it's worth now that u saw some reviews?
I'm very sceptical...

Care about way better batterylife and camera and can live with EMUI , go for P30Pro.
Need speed ,smoothness and again speed ornamented by polished OxygenOS but do not care much about cameras and not so great batterylife(i.e. it's good, not amongst the chart toppers) then choose OP7Pro.
*I won't talk about DxOMark score of 111 given to OP7Pro and its underlined individual scores, reviewers don't agree with the idea of it having very good cameras.
*I can go on and on based on my own opinion, research and my hands-on experience but feeling lazy to write an essay

im i not a pro ? (purchase decision)

so ive been looking to move from my Pixel 3 to a oneplus and.
1- Size:im not into big phones, ive had big ones before and i dont want to go back:
the OP7 is a bit smaller, isnt any noticable on use, or is it just shorte ?
2-Notch:id rather had a teardrop than frankenstein (pop-up)
3- Screen style: straight bezzel is better than curved for me
many complain and i dont think im going to be into the curve
4-Warp charge: would be nice, but not having it aint the end of the world for me
5-Battery: the Non-Pro probably lasts a little more on its 3700 than the 4000 on the pro version taking into consideration the screen ?
6-Resolution and refresh rate: i know ill love it if i see it, but well i can let myself not get used to it, aint that a solution ?
7- MOST IMPORTANT is the camera.... i love my pixel 3 camera and im sad im "downgrading?" but is the OP7 even more of the downgrade from the OP7 pro when it comes to the main shooter if we forget about the wide angle ?
thanks a lot for your time, please weight in
main reason im leaving pixel is that it aint really supported in Norway, so i have problems sometime, no support for 4g calling and wifi-calling which i kinda a killer for me, because im a professional translator and need the call quality
the price difference of 200 euros between OP7 6gb 128gb and OP7P 8gb 256 is not much for me at all, but i just dont want a bigger more expensive phone that i dont really long for currently
If you can buy the op7 pro then go for it.Battery life is better on 7 mainly because of small screen and lower refresh rate and the main shooter performs the same as 7 pro.I personally use op7 and I don't have any complaints
In your case I would by the OP7 (non pro)
I was in the same situation before I bought the standard op7. I also doesn't like the bigger size and the elevator camera. And the curved display is also a con for me.
Camera quality is almost the same if you take normal pictures and nothing special.
Probably the OP7 would work out well...
Camera not great on OnePlus 7 or any other non 7 pro Oneplus,
Maybe go for a Mi 9T or K20 pro or indeed mi 9 which has teardrop notch but good camera,
I would personally get a 7 pro if I didn't already have a 6t.coincidently, I'm thinking of swapping my 6T for a Mi 9T for the greater number of features, better cameras and battery, though am hesitant because I do enjoy quick updates on Oneplus but am realizing a lot of updates are useless updates to weather and other Oneplus apps that you don't need

So you didn't have a OP7 and say camera is bad? Makes sense.
I switched from Mi9 to OP7 and I tell you Camera isn't better if you take standard pictures and nothing special. It's almost the same because the main sensor is the same. (48MP Sony IMX 586)

Believe it or not. OP7 Camera setup isn't the best, that's right but "better" always depends on point of view. It's not right if you say "OP7 is not great". That's absolutely bullsh.. You can take great Pictures even with one less lense.
Btw... I would never trust paid YouTuber...

Sorry for commenting on your new phone dude, your obviously very protective of that bad boy.But having had OnePlus 3,6,and 6T,I still believe OnePlus software is not good enough in the camera department. My 6T sucks without google cam. Xaoimi does it better IMOPO

Hi guys! Bought OnePlus 7 last week and have been playing with it for the past few days.
I have had my usage of flagships and budget phone, as my previous smartphones have been Galaxy S1, HTC One X, Motorola Droid RAZR, Xiaomi Mi3, Nexus 6P, Nokia 7 Plus and now OnePlus 7.
I was also very skeptical about the mixed reviews that this phone received for its camera and picture quality but after buying and using it for a brief time period, I am sure of one thing that it certainly is not "GOD level" aka Pixel Camera but the phone is pretty good for the price that is being offered.

Coming from a pixel 2xl, which OP should I buy?

So I see and read all the videos how disappointing the Pixel 4 series is. I'm thinking of getting a One Plus. I see that there are different varieties of the 7 series . On your suggestion please keep in mind thdt I do like My pixel 2xl size. For a big phone it's comfortable to hold and now too tall. I see that the 7 pro is very tall.
So I'm open to hear what you owners think. Also to stay with Verizon , is the One Plus website the only deal ? Lastly would you know what Google features I'd miss or not get
Thanks!

Hey man, I also used Pixel 2 XL since it was released. I was disappointed in leaks of 4 XL so I picked up 7 pro about 2 months ago. Size they are fairly similar in size, weight you definitely feel the weight difference with 7 pro bring heavier. Dimensions they are fairly close if you check. I definitely missed all the Google pixel features but a lot of roms have same experience plus more such as omnirom tresk mod. For the display alone is worth moving from Pixel 2 XL to 7 pro I think. Good luck man.
I've had pixels before, then I tried the OnePlus 7 Pro and have never looked back...
You will miss the Pixel quality camera. Works on Verizon really well. Best Android skin ever. Screen is great, speakers good. I have a 2XL and the 7pro. Android user for a long time. First time I can say in 15 yrs I have been looking at an iPhone. Google can't seem to get out of their own way. Pixel 4/4xl is just the latest example. Good luck.

Great info thanks!
1- What about buying?
2-I want to stay with my current line would I better off buying direct from One plus? They have the finance offer.
3- How is their launcher? customization ? At least equal to the Pixel Launcher or close to Nova?
4- What features did you miss from the Pixel?
Thanks
I came from the Pixel 2XL om Verizon network. I've had mine just a few days
1 - Bought mine direct from OnePlus. Guarantee it would work on Verizon network that way. Just make that phone call to switch to CDMA Less.
2 - I pay cash for all my phones. I did see financing on OnePlus site though.
3 - I used Nova Launcher on day one that I bought the Pixel 2, I also used it on the Nexus 6P before that. I'm currently using the Stock launcher on the Oneplus. I can honestly say that the Oneplus launcher feature rich and that I don't miss Nova at all. Probably the only reason I ever really used Nova is because of the stupid Google search bar on the Pixel 2 and 6P. You don't have that problem on Oneplus, You can remove it I would say its closer to Nova to answer your question.
4 - I think the only thing I'll miss is the free original quality uploads to Goggle Photos. The pixel 4 does have the original picture quality upload and no finger print sensor so those 2 things were the deal breaker for me for the price point they are asking for the Pixel 4XL with only 6 GB / 128 GB
I bought the 12 GB / 256 GB version. Gotta love those specs more that anything over the pixel series.
Hope this helps in your decision. Feel free to ask anything else.
Hey Jeff , nice write-up!
I thought that one of the beefs is that the p4 does not upload original photo quality for free.
How would I know if I should get the 7 or 7t?
Plus is it true that it comes with a screen protector out if the box.?
Thanks

1. i have the 7 / 7T & the 7T Pro, if you're into heavy gaming i'd suggest you pick up the the 7T Pro, if not, the 7 Pro performs really well on the 12GB ram version.
2. Yes, all of the OnePlus 7 devices come with a pre-installed screen protector & a silicon case inside.
If you have more questions, feel free to shoot them my way
Jeff,
What about warranty advice?
Also, do you think my pixel sim would work or do I ned to contact Verizon for a new sim?
Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks
I must say... If you rely on a good cam, the OP should be not your choice. Unfortunately.
But if not, everything speaks OP7pro. The screen is amazing, performance great. 90hz ftw!
And i don't think the 7t pro is necessary. Unless you game a lot.

Did anyone see my last couple questions-
Warranty advice
Can I take my pixel sim and plug it into the OP?
On buying I think I'd go with the 8GB. May this time around to enjoy a little money saving. I'm kind of tired buying super expensive phones. Plus I'd be going from 4 to 8GB.

What advice do you need regarding warranty ?
Yes you can use your sim on it
Since you're going for the 8GB ram one, If the difference between it and the 7T Pro is not sky high, take the 7T Pro.

I decided to swap my Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 Pro 5g and it was serious mistake. Advantages of Oneplus 7 pro in compare to old one Pixel 2 xl are;
- ultra wide angle
- phone is a little more responsive but it's not really something which makes noticeable difference for me. I know that most nerds cannot prevent erection while talking about oneplus 7 performance but I don't share their experience at all
- fast charging is huge improvement especially in compare to Pixel 2XL
However the Pixel 2 XL also has a lot advantages in compare to Oppo Oneplus 7 Pro;
- Absolutely everything else is much much better in Pixel 2 XL. I even prefer Pixel screen because of curved display is probably the worst 'improvement' in smartphones history.
Pixel 2x is much better overall device in my opinion than Oppo op7p. I was able to find out three Oppo advantages over Pixel however if compare to g8s and probably any other flagship it's worth nothing. As example I will compare with LG G8s;
- ultra wide angel in LG is wider and overall camera experience are better mainly while recording
- G8s is still very responsive and in daily tasks the same lightning fast like OP7P
- Faster charging in Oppo is worth absolutely nothing because of limited compatibility with my chargers and it will never replace wireless charging
OnePlus is not water resistant. It's not a problem for me at all in normal circumstances but this phone has quite large gaps not only between frame and back which collect a lot of dirt. It's look terrible and I have never seen that in any other flagship. Overall Oneplus is good phone but it's not flagship. This phone is rather very good mid ranger with flagship soc because everything expect soc, ram and storage is in oneplus far worse than in any flagship phone on market. I regret that I bought this phone. Swapping Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 pro was huge downgrade for me.

First of all, it's his own opinion, it should not affect what you decide on buying or not.
To simply put it out for you, if you want an AMAZING camera, don't buy the oneplus, if you want a good camera, then go for it. That's for the camera only.
As far as the reply from the guy/girl above, i have really no idea why the negative bash over the OnePlus, i've been a OPO user since their 1st device, and tbh i've never..EVER.. considered any of thir devices a Flagship or a Flagship killer like they say.
The OnePlus 7 Pro and the 7T and the 7T Pro, i have all three, and all three are performing AMAZINGLY for me in all situations, except for the camera, when it comes to taking pics i user another device, but that does NOT mean the OnePlus camera is bad, no, you just cant expect it to perform like the Pixel phones, that is all.
You want the OnePlus to perform super good camera wise? Get the GCam port APK and unleash the camera powers with that
Again, like i said, go for the 7T Pro, since you're aiming for the 8GB Ram 7 Pro, if the price difference is not huge

1 - I do not have a warranty on mine. You have 30 days after purchase to signup for whatever it is Oneplus is selling. I probably won't get insurance at all.
2 - I just switched my sim from the Pixel 2 to the Oneplus 7 Pro and called Verizon's 800 number and talked to tech support and they did the switch my device to CDMA less over the phone. Took just a few minutes.
3 - I though about going for the 8 myself over the 12. I used my sons student beans discount so I got mine for just a little over $700. If I did have the discount I would have gotten the 8 for sure. Plus buying from Oneplus you can avoid paying tax. That is it or miss on Amazon these days. Far as 7 pro 12 Gig Ram, I see its no longer available on Oneplus web site. They must be out of them.
To answer a few questions from your other posts:
1 - I know can always pay to have your photos upload to original quality to goggle photo/cloud service. But free is free. And it was free on the Pixel 2, lol.
2 - Yes the screen protector comes pre-installed. They also give you a nice clear silicon case as well.
3 - I would of considered the 7T if it came with 256 memory or a Micro SD slot.
4 - Far as that negative review. I would take that with a grain of salt. You show me a new flagship phone and I will show you a negative review, lol.
IMHO, I feel that OP7 Pro is superior to the Pixel 2XL in every way. Even the Camera with its 3 lenses. You won't be disappointed.
To Inpain and JeffBea, Thanks!!!
Now I'm a bit on the fence for the 7T pro or the 7pro.
I'm not a gamer
I want a good camera, but it;'s not a deql breaker.
I'm a performance guy but I'll probably go for the 8 Gig on either model. Can't see spending the extra $200 plus unless you have a serious case to persuade me
Thanks Again,

find X2 pro on EE

Just received my oppo find X2 pro this morning from EE.
Brilliant phone!
I recently had the Samsung S20 ultra (exynos) and wow this is miles better ? 12gb ram 512gb storage what a beast?.
I did think it was a dual SIM phone unpon ordering even tho I don't use 2 Sims it seems weird how they removed this feature.
Disappointing not dual SIM.
Lovely piece of kit almost as good as Huawei p40 pro.

That's strange, Find X2 Pro is overall praised for its excellent color reproduction. Detail is also top tier, actually even beating P40 Pro by a very slight margin (in ideal lighting conditions).
My advice is: don't return it. ColorOS 7.2 is about to come (I'd give it 2-3 months before it reaches us) and, among other nice improvements, it releases Oppo Camera SDK allowing other apps (such as Snapchat, Instagram, gcam) use all its lenses.
So if you're willing to wait with maybe a little bit less top-tier camera (perfectly top-tier and well-rounded in my opinion though) by then, you will get a very capable gcam rather soon.
Nah, I will return it. If 7.2 improves it enough I will buy it again at a reduced price
Welcome to England where you can buy things use them and again use them, then you feel disappointed and sen it back, then after couple of days you buy it again but this time cheaper
The phone is good stop whining
I've had the S20 ultra and the iPhone 11 pro and p40 pro this year and I'm impressed with the camera on this phone compared to them and I'm not saying there crap as there all good shooters and there's many strengths and weaknesses in all of them, I think it's very similar to the p40 pro but I prefere the colour this phone produces rather than the p40 pro as the p40 seems over saturated a lot of the time to me where this phone seems more life like.
It's a brilliant phone and I will certainly be upgrading to the next oppo find x next year regardless to what apple and Samsung, Huawei, Google bring out in the future.
Holding this phone compared to anything else, you get to realise how premium this phone is.

The phone is good. But for £1100 I expect more than just good. My 18m mate 20 pro is better in every way except refresh rate and processor. Gone back to that and haven’t looked back
Wouldn't have another SoC other than Snapdragon hence why I didn't get a Samsung or Huawei, Kirin & Exynos will forever be inferior
Out of interest, what firmware version is the EE supplied handsets running?
My SIM free from Amazon is currently at CPH2025CPW_11_A.30
It has CPW in the name which is not showing in the name of the version on their website. ROM versions get a bit confusing! I think Vodafone is VF but not sure if EE has its own version.
Also whilst I remember, if you are in a 5G area, does it work OK and show 5G in the top? I've got 5G enabled but when I do a manual search for providers it doesn't show anyone with 5G but I know the local 3 mast is 5G! I thought that would be in the list
Cheers

Ok got me the oneplus 8 pro on (H3G) UK and well that was a big let down in the camera department and battery life not to mention display issues , anyway within my 14 days I can exchange to pretty much any phone they have so camera is pretty important so I toy'd with idea of p40 pro but without Google was a bit off putting so I decided on the S20 Ultra and well let's say I'm not blown away with the camera on that,
has just been updated and is kinda beta especially auto focus was main issue at the time , so my question is should I while I'm still in my 14 days retun S20 ultra for the P40 pro as s20 ultra 100x zoom is well waste of time I know anything pretty much past 30x is a blurr but over all watching YouTube video although samsung looks more natural colour's the detail of the p40 pro can be slightly better its very subjective in most comparisons I can get over the fact there's no Google but should I switch or stick with the ultra and hope samsung can improve further anybody actually switched from s20 ultra to p40 pro and regret it or are you much happier , I know on paper s20 ultra spec wise display ok 120hz at 1080p isn't ideal but display is beautiful and 12gb ram and stereo speakers and tech better front facing cam ,again subjective . I just don't know want to do , thanks for reading hope you can help decide , Lol stay safe [emoji4]

Personally, I'd prefer the P40P and that's not just because it's cheaper and better value depending on how your needs. It's also important to summarize and weigh up the pros and cons for both devices. If you're in the UK with a Exynos CPU, then I'd personally avoid the S20 Ultra altogether due to the hot attention it's been getting for its inferior battery life and CPU performance.
Screen - Samsung (120hz, brighter and higher quality display, no huge pill-shaped punch hole notch)
Battery Life and Charging - Tie IMO (P40P's 5G chipset is more efficient since it has a built-in 5G modem and Huawei tend to be more memory aggressive with closing down background apps). Exynos S20 Ultra isn't as good as the Snapdragon model as it's less power efficient so its chipsets just aren't created equally. Some proof shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63T5lrDivn8
Camera - P40P (doesn't have the auto focus issues, has superior night mode, slightly better zoom, front cameras are one of the best and even though the wide angle has a smaller field of view, it's a far bigger sensor which lets lets you capture better detailed shots)
Software - Samsung (as Huawei are banned from Google Play Services but you can still sideload most of the apps you need)
Overall aesthetics and design - P40P (mainly down to personal preference but the S20 Ultra is too big and chunky in my opinion and the sleek Frost Silver back, along with the smaller and tidier rear camera bump makes it a winner for me in the attractiveness department)

The OPPO Find X2 Pro is very similar to the OnePlus 8 Pro though. They have near identical camera specifications (same main sensor), battery size and screen.
I see it as an overpriced version of a OP8P and with inferior software updates since OnePlus are better at releasing new firmware regularly than both Oppo and Samsung. I wouldn't consider it.

If you're purely after a flexible and strong camera performance across all lens and don't mind losing Google Play Services, the P40 Pro is almost impossible to beat in my opinion. The latest .131 firmware update that just came through about a week ago further improves its shooting performance and it can now take macro shots to an extent (I've posted a few other photos in another thread).
The S20 Ultra with its Exynos chipset is just not worth it. Every user has complained of auto focus issues, poor battery life versus its Snapdragon variant and the price tag has set a lot of expectations for perfection which Samsung couldn't deliver (there's a reason why the S20 series sold 50% less than the S10 series and petitions were started demanding Samsung to answer why they separated these two chipsets across various regions) - I'm not against Samsung but this is a sign that there's problems with this phone. The autofocus issues and its inability to take close-up shots are supposedly being fixed in the Note 20+ though.
The OnePlus 8 Pro on the other hand is the best all-rounder I'd say and I'd choose it over the S20 Ultra any day because the screen is just as good as the S20U, has Snapdragon 865 and not the Exynos and is regularly updated with new firmware (a friend of mine coming from the P30 Pro said it was a nice upgrade). It takes great videos too and is amazing value.

I've had the 8 pro and wasn't at all impressed tbh camrea wasn't good and battery life and screen issues with greys and black looked wrong and washed out are stick with P40 pro I think it has best camera option that I'm after and battery life and optimization is Stella on Huawei's I can always install my bank app on tablet so not a deal braker tbh to hell with trump hopefully once he's out the ban will be lifted ,

OP8P's camera is a solid performer, but it's far from a flagship champion in the photography department in my opinion since the P40P is superior in both hardware and software.
Another reason why The P40P is also great in the battery life department is because there aren't any Google Play Services and other Google-related processes running in the background 24/7. I can disable most of Huawei's app services whenever I want, including their App Store, HiCare, HiSearch and their other apps quickly and easily. Yes, even though the battery capacity is only 4200mAh, Huawei has great RAM management and it's not as bloated anymore with other unwanted apps (at least the global version is pretty clean).
I have both the S20U and P40P, i have to say the Huawei is the better device hardware/software wise i u set it up properly HMS/GMS/ICE BOX. I previously had a P30P and i loved it thought i would go Samsung but honestly they are not top of the crop even if the price is.

I'm really into the Hardware and aesthetic of the phone, and I think the P40 Pro is the best on the market in that aspect. It really feels premium and worth the price. It's the perfect size and weight and the materials are top notch. The Samsungs S20's just don't feel their price which is the first thing that lets it down to me (the Note 10's were much better in that respect).
If you have some patience and are good with technology and can side load GMS on the P40 Pro I'd definitely recommend it. It's the first phone out of the recent flagships that I want to keep for the next 12 months.
Another option I'd suggest is the Oppo Find X2 Pro. ColourOS I actually find I prefer to Oxygen OS. The camera is excellent and the phone feels and looks quality.
Thanks good to hear , yes had p40 lite briefly had issues getting GMS working on that but alot of the vids aimed at the p40 pro gave up with it in the end , hope to have more success with p40 pro just to be on safe side and to get my Google fix I've also ordered a oneplus 8 12GB green so will have the best of both worlds preferred it over the pro having the p40 pro as main camera phone dont see the point in getting another pro as well Roll on Monday and good buy Ultra [emoji3]

Question OnePlus 9 Pro compared vs Pixel 7 Pro?

Anyone here coming from the OP 9 Pro?
I'd like to know which screen is easier to read under direct extra-bright sunlight.
And which has louder, fuller sounding speakers?
Anything else you think is interesting to note as a difference.
The screen on the Pixel is comparable to the 9 Pro. It's got a peak of 1500 nits when on auto. I have zero issues seeing it in the sun.
I didn't have a 9 Pro, I had a 9, but the speakers on the 7 Pro are way better. The 9 had basically no bass to speak of and the 7 Pro has a moderate bass response. It travels through the back of the phone and makes it vibrate in your hands a bit which was unnerving for me at first but the quality is definitely excellent as that was a chief complaint I had about my 9.
I'm loving the fact that apps don't just randomly refresh for no reason. I can swipe away from Chrome and do something without worrying about the page refreshing when I come back. RAM management was always really annoying on OOS12 and would often result in me being unable to log into my accounts because I would swipe away to get my 2FA code and the page would reload. Happy to say that I can actually play games on this thing and come back to what I was doing hours later and it's still there.
The camera is way better on the Pixel side if you like the point and shoot idea. The OnePlus is better if you like to tweak things although I think eventually we will get a nice GCam port that adds all that functionality back to the Pixel as well. I have not been disappointed with a single picture I have just randomly snapped with the Pixel whereas the OnePlus I never trusted it to get it right on the first so I took 3 or 4 and checked them out later.
Battery life for me has been better than my 9 but this seems to really vary for people and comes down to how you use the phone. I thought I would miss the rapid charging of the 9 but in reality I only have to charge once every 19-26 hours so it's a moot point and I can get 50% in 30 minutes which will get me through whatever I need to do where I won't have access to a charger easily.
EDIT: Actually, from looking up display tests, the Pixel should be much better than the 9 Pro. Without auto brightness the 9 Pro maxed at 500 nits. The Pixel achieves 1000 nits full scene brightness without auto.

FYI, fully functional GCAM is already there since the phone came out. Check the Gcam from BSG, there is even a "dedicated" group for the Pixel 7 series and Gcam including a few people who made config and lib. Of course, Gcam already performs FAR better than the stock Google camera.
Also, I got the 9 Pro too, and the camera doesn't even come close to Pixel 7 Pro's.

I may have to look into this. It seems like Google made the camera even less functional than it was on the 3 XL from the settings department. I've been happy with the output but sometimes I would like more control.
I have both coming from 9 pro. You can definitely see the pixel 7 pro screen in sunlight. The nine pro also is pretty good. Couple thing to note that stands out to me, the pixel screen feels/appears a little bigger to me, I believe mainly due to screen curve with the 9 pro having much more curve. The one thing that surprised me was the pixel screen being rated #1 Android screen on DXO_Mark, since the screen does look nice, but I think as far as colors, etc, the nine pro has pixel beat with ability to produce, I believe, 1 billion colors, and the pixel like 17 million. I still prefer the pixel though for the record, since the 9 pro and Color Os saga when Android 12 came out. Also the pixel camera obviously is pretty hard to beat for double click power button, point and shoot. The pixel has been pretty nice except for the charging speed.

The Pixel supports HDR10 which means it supports 1.07 billion colors as well. SDR is limited to 16.7 million but HDR is not.

To point out the statement regarding "saturation" on OP9 Pro compared to Pixel 7 Pro. Keep in mind that "higher" saturation doesn't equal "better". Pixel 7 Pro is above OP9 Pro in terms of display for various reasons, one of them and one of the most important one is the color accuracy. If you need saturation, you can always use a third-party app to boost it. Same as it was done on OP9 Pro through the "Wide-Gamut" display setting.

Thanks for pointing this out, that makes sense now, and I was wondering about this. Overall I've been pretty happy w/ the pixel and I have increased the saturation.
I would say the Pixel 7 Pro is a far better phone in every way. The only thing I am missing is the silent, vibrate physical button. I get 5G pretty much everywhere. Pixlel 7 Pro gets 5G in places my OnePlus 9 pro couldn't. Im back on Nova Launcher after 3 Oneplus phones I didn't really need. Pixel needs it to remove Google search bar.

Easily the Pixel 7 Pro is easier to read
I have both and frequently switch between the two.... Gaming is better on the 9pro obviously... The fit in hand is better on the 9pro and this is a big deal to me... I also like the build better as the screen doesn't feel so hollow... Speakers edge out to the 9pro... Standby drain edge out to the 9pro as well... I shoot RAW when I can, so the camera isnt that big of a factor for me but the 7pro is great for dim, quick shots...
There are some differences with smoothness including this website on Firefox... The 9pro is consistently smoother... It gets choppy more often with the 7pro...
The 9pro also stays cooler ... Dunno what this really means though, maybe it's just better at "hiding" the heat whereas the 7pro let's the heat expand out...
These differences are very close... The 9pro just got OS13 and seems much better than 12...
If I were to pick between the 2, I'd stick with my 9pro because of fit in hand AND the super fast charging... Too convenient...

I went from OP 8T + and decided against the 10 Pro in favor of the Pixel 7 Pro. It's a great phone designed around real world performance ignoring benchmark performance. It's like the only phone that runs 2 main cores with a 2+2+4 setup when all other phones run 1 big core. Screen is excellent, especially brightness

I understand, I've been a OnePlus fan since their creation. The concept behind the company was a true flagship killer concept. Sadly by the time the 9's hit they went down the drain. I'm really happy with my Google Pixel 7 Pro, but the slow charging is a bummer
OnePlus software was ahead of its time.
But the hardware was behind the times (IMO) until the 9 Pro.
But that was the same time they went out of date with software.
I used to have the 9 pro, but I sold it. Its battery was horrifyingly bad (maybe the device was faulty). The vibration was weak and the speakers were OKish (no bass and depth just loudness).
As someone mentioned above, I can confirm that the camera was hit or miss with heavy colour saturation.
Furthermore, I liked more the curved screen of the Oneplus, the front camera placement and the extremely fast battery charging. Also, I was getting better cellular reception on the Oneplus 9 pro, maybe due to its modem and support of 5g in my country.
So far I'm enjoying almost every aspect of the Pixel 7 Pro. For the initial price bundled with the pixel watch, I think it was the best deal currently available for new premium android.

A 9 might've been a better choice from the start then a 10 since it was before their whole "pay to unbrick" nonsense. But i guess oneplus helped me find a good phone in a way by being the first ever one i returned. I feel a llittle dumb getting something soo expensive when i could get comparible preformance for 300 dollars instead of oneplus's laughable 700 or 800 dollars
I bought Pixel 7 pro today. Im reverting back to my OP9. I couldn´t find a way to pass safetynet on
GP7. I have full root and passing on my OP9 A13.
i will return the Pixel tomorrow, sadly.

I never knew you could even pass it without usnf. Aren't all 0hones nowadays hardware verified or whatever? I don't even care if i pass personally since i use websites for banking and avoid gpay because it failed me. One too many times (unrooted)
