I've bought a chineese model of 9i but I can't install Google services because one of the installation not end well. The only solution may be root it but it is impossible obtain the code from Huawei. I just bought a new Huawei P8 GRA-UL00 from China and currently the device has GRA-UL00C00B153 build EMUI 3.1.
I live in Europe and even I have chosen the English language settings, the device still has many Chinese specific notifiers, apps, and some other stuff and as you know, there are restrictions on google services, play store, etc..
I searched over the forum and also some other resources to learn whether it is possible to modify the phone as to be purchased in Europe. After I read many discussions, I am now highly confused.
Do I need to unblock and root the device for removing the Chinese stuff or is it also possible to do it by finding and installing a European firmware (if exists) from the manufacturer?
I will be pleased if you guys can help me in this issue.

I live in France and I have the same problem on my P8 GRA-UL10 with a B183 China ROM version.
I can easily upgrade to an other B173 China ROM version but I can't upgrade to B143 General ROM version.
How to install a B141 General ROM version ? Do I have to unlock the bootloader ?

Your best option is to select the ROM produced for Europe.
After preparation ROM root the phone and then unlocking the bootloader downgrade supplier.
Most likely your problem will be solved.

It was a hard task but I unclocked the bootloader of my GRA-UL10 (I also root it) but I can not upgrade my offical B173 China ROM to a official B143 General ROM, I see this message hpics.li/4d8b21f

Am from Nairobi Kenya, My wife bought me the Huawei Honor 5 Play CUN-AL00 from China and once back home I realised this phone doesn't have google playstore.
Its O.S. (Android 5.1.) is in Chinese. Basically I cant do anything with this phone.
I thought of flashing it or reinstalling Or Updating Android but dont know how to go about it.
I need to use this phone and i need Android that works with this phone and One that has Playstore.

If the device has been made for the Chinese market then you must search on google for a modified rom if available
You can also search for an international firmware version on the Huawei official website

Looks to me that Google Mobile Services ( GMS ) is the package you want to have on your phone.

Thinh here- I have the same problem- is that this Huawei Model, y7a (PPA-LX3), comes with EMUI 10.1.1.203 by default, so Googlefier does not work, as its made for 10.1.0.150 and below, and I cannot downgrade mi mother's phone cause there is not an older firmware. There's not "rolling back". And gspace does not work either. Is there any noob friendly way to get Gapps into this phone?

yes there is no firmware to rollback to. but i've been using the device for several weeks and what i identified is that you don't really need google if you need something like a playstore you can install apkpure app which have every app play store have gpace is not recommended and sometimes it gets pretty laggy on devices also if you need you tube you can set up youtube from quick app center it is like a browser version of youtube but it don't suck

Yeah, in the end I tought she's better off without google, at least privacy-wise, so I just debloated her phone and installed cool alternatives to gapps.

I'm looking to replace my Huawei Honor 5 tablet, which have been an absolute disaster with the lack of google play and any attempts to install apks fail to get it working consistently.
My question on Lenovo P11 Plus tablet is what is the difference between the Chinese and Global ROM?
I'm looking to buy the tablet off the official Lenovo website from taobao directly. (no Global ROM) The spec says Android 10, not 11.
My essential requirement is the ability for OTA updates, full google play support and certification. Just don't want the risk of having any issues with google play as my son will be using it and certain apps need connection with google play. Or is it regional locked in that if I use the tablet in Australia, I can't use certain features?
I am presuming streaming service will work with the Chinese ROM?

I own a P11 Pro (former CN). Because of Plus have different SoC I can't tell you how easy it is to change ROM. For Qualcomm it is easy.
The CN ROM on my P11Pro does NOT have Google Apps on it. It was complete chinese. App, Store everyting.You can change language to english but it remains all china.
After flashin ROW aka Global ROM it became fully international WITH all Google services as we non china people know Android.
BUT Lenovo can identify whre the device comes from, based on the serial number.
If you try to register it, you will fail with CN serial an overseas.
So there is no guarantee that a re-flased device keeps certified.
Before re-flashing you should backup everthing.
I have missed that so I lost device certification an Widevine.
On Qualcomm you need to backup seqveral partionins (better all) and a so called QCN with EFS.
Don't know how this works on Plus with Mediatek SoC.

.In your version does not bring Google Services? How weird, in mine yes, but I needed to install the apk from the Play Store to make it work.

I have some questions. I own a Huawei p30 pro vog l29 model, i wanna rebrand it to chinese model to get the HarmonyOs it is safe?
I will still have the official google services?

Thank you for your answer. But i wanna rebrand it to install HarmonyOs because only chinese models got Harmony os i have european model VOG L29 and i have emui 12.......................... i own alerdy the google services officialy because this model was not banned from US
