I'm not sure if I understood good, but, this is that new Sense UI 2.1 (e.g. from Desire S), but Android base is still 2.2.1? If yes, so it looks nice... I would rather get Gingerbread

I once had an old radio, it played music in black and white, but when I thought about it, most music is black and white when you read it.

So this is a branded ROM by a carrier because it's x.xx.832.x.
Does anyone now which provider from which country this is?

I meant that this is the same as 1.84 for Orange, just different operator I suppose.
I have recently update my nexus s 2.3.6 to 4.0.3,
the usb transfer rate from PC to phone is 600kbps at max,
is there any solution for this?

its a known issue and effects everyone
Only solution ATM is if you're rooted and have clockwork recovery use that to transfer big files. If not then out of luck
Transferring smaller files like roms...ect fine threw OS.
I Ave like 1.25 Mb from OS and 5mb from clockwork recovery ...clearly an IC issue hopefully will be fixed in next OTA or a dev figures out

Hi!
For me works very well , I get 1.5~2.3 Mb/s when transfer big files
---------- Post added at 11:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:35 AM ----------
I think you need an update of drivers : http://www.4shared.com/rar/_bgEMHqk/Nexus_S_Drivers_x86__x64.html
and....correct Root & CWM for ICS 4.0.3 ( it's proprely monted USB into CWM) : http://www.4shared.com/zip/Uj3mr3gL/ICS_ROOT_RECOVERY.html
{Tested on I9023 & I9020a }
Good luck ! ( works perfectly for me ! - I9023 )
Into CWM - I get 5Mb~ 11Mb/s when I transfered an 118Mb file...I think it's very well....
i think it's the lack of EXT4, On gingerbread, I get 5.5mbs transfer rate while my ics transfer rate is at about 2mbs
Painfully slow for me as well, which is a deal breaker, flashed back to gb again, wtf are Google thinking? Any fix for this yet?
I have this too, it does say USB mass storage mode when its connecting and when its connected but its very slow. Model GT-I9020, stock update, no root. Was much faster on GB.
Works
It works on my galaxy s2 with ice cream sandwich.
i dont have ICS, but i have the same usb-problem on 2.3.6
usb-transfer-speed is 4 mb/s at best. usually around 3.5 mb/s.
what could be the problem here? obviously somethign is wrong. on my n900, i get around 10-11 mb/s iirc. at least a very satisfying 2-digit number.
i saw that the android sdk comes with usb-drivers. will installing these improve transfer speed?
Oopa already posted
I havnt tried but I take it that full wipe and reinstall rather than upgrade dosnt cure it?
It's a known issue which won't be fixed until Google release an update or if you either use a custom ROM or a rooted device and the ability to change system settings and modify the SD cache size.
I've been using AndSMB to transfer files. It's faster than MTP for me, doesn't require a custom ROM, and I don't have to be stuck with a tether.
Scott
I've been unable to go over 98 KBps since I upgraded my nexus S to ICS
best workaround is to use CWM to transfer files
i was transfering music to my phone at 800KB/s and now through CWM its at 3,82 MB/s

Even for ics that's way to slow

The ICS brings down the speed to around 1MPps.
Try using a different USB cable and port.
I thought the problem was due to the manual update I did, but it looks like that's not the case.

Which is a usb device right?
The 700KL is not just a 700T with additional hardware, it has a very different SOC. So even if you manage to flash the firmware somehow, the chance of bricking your device is approximately 100%.
*facepalm* You'd be better off throwing it off the balcony.
The KL has a different processor. What do you think will happen if you install the Snapdragon Q4 Dualcore driver on a Nvidia Tegra 3 Quadcore processor?

whats, roughly, the exact differences between TF700T and TF700KL ?
Odp: [q] tf700kl on tf700t
So you want to use a 3G USB dongle with TF700?
If you have the keyboard dock - root your device, then download PPP Widget from Google Play. There is a good chance it will work (it works for me, YMMV depending on the modem brand).
If you don't have the dock - purchase an OTG cable and try with it.

It'll be a different baseband. I don't know why it wouldn't work. You said you have a backup, just try it out. Maybe you can confirm if it works for other Rogers users.

There aren't any flashable roms made from the new stock ICS, so I don't think you'll be able to simply find another baseband and still use the rom. I think you'll have to wait a few more days for that, someone will release a flashable rom.
works perfectly fine ! with the att base band i get 4G and everything
now i just have to get rid of the att apps (bloatware) and ill be good
thanks for attempting to help me i appreciate it :good:

They likely will. EU was supposed to get the ICS update on the Optimus 3D. The Thrill 4G wasn't even listed for an update, yet it got it first.
As for getting rid of bloatware, I got rid of mine with Titanium Backup Pro. I removed all the AT&T junk, along with the 3D games, Kindle, and Yellow Page without an issue.
Hopefully someone can port to i9505

I believe you need the source code. You have to wait for the final release that Google makes available, the most you can do is a dump and catch the apk's

Should be very likely.
There were ports of ICS and Kitkat for my old LG P350 device. Why wouldn't there be ports for M. The S4 should run it just fine.
I would be satisfied if s4 gets all L updates cause android M wont be released almost 100% for s4...or maxbe samsung has some other thoughts [emoji14]
After I saw that Google released the source code, just do not know if it is 100% platform ....It would be nice at least be able to use part of the optimization of ART and battery (doze project). I'm using the GearCM (optimized version of CyanogenMod) for i9500 ... is that changing the manifest can do a partial port?
I might try build it, see what the crack is.

He is talking about official manufacturer release.
Generally, after 18 months the manufacturer drops update development for a phone. It's been 2 years since the S4 released. Samsung already has 2 devices on which they have to work + their next flag ship.
I doubt they are going to spend more time on our 2 year old device.
We will surely get AOSP versions of M but official samsung version might be unlikely.

I'm pretty sure there won't be any official Touchwiz M for the S4 and considering the fact that 5.1 isn't even out for the google play edition S4... i'm pretty sure the GPE model will not see M either.
Yeah probably s4 stops at L,s5 will probably get M too.
Android 'Biggest update ever' failed badly, now Google should get serious about the quality of updates.
we need the Camera API 2.0 by Samsung, so we will use a perfect version of the next cm13 rom!!! i really hate the bad quality of camera apps in CM 12.1 !!!!!!
