Unofficial twrp and custom rom flashing on doogee s70 lite. - Android General

To anyone that is not familiar running media Tek chipsets like I am here is a guide and some info for anyone that wants to flash a custom image and recovery on there doogee s70 lite phone. Before I start.
WARNING !!!!!This will void your warranty and potentially damage or brick your phone. Do at your own risk. If your a beginner look into unlocking your bootloader and rooting your phone before attempting this. To do this you will need to unlock your bootloader I did mine by simply enabling developer options. enabling oem unlock and booting into adb and fastboot from my computer. to get into fastboot first intstall the proper drivers and Android device manager on your computer then in a command prop type "adb reboot bootloader" then "fastboot oem unlock" was that simple for me.
Flashing recovery.
First there is no official or unofficial recovery for the doogee s70 lite yet as far as I know. you can port one for this phone using the mediatek scatter file for this phone . there is a guide here on XDA if you want to go that route. What I tried and actually had work since they are almost identical in specs they both use the mediatek hello p23 soc. I downloaded and flashed the unofficial twrp recovery for the doogee s80 lite and so far so good it has the same issues as the s80 lite with encryption ECT ECT but I had no problem flashing it to the recovery partition in fast boot. And when it does boot up the twrp recovery says "ulefone power 5" don't be alarmed I'm sure it's just another twrp image that has been modified if I remember correctly the maker was "Nemo Nemo" anyways thank you for the twrp port. Also you don't have to flash a custom recovery if you don't want to but now you have the option.
I did everything in fastboot and you will have to use fastboot for flashing a custom version of Android.
Flashing a custom rom/os
Ok I did not know this but this device is project treble compatible if you do not know what project treble is look it up. Anyway you can flash project treble compatible generic Android images on this device. I am currently running the unofficial version of lineage os 15.1 on my doogee s70 lite with no major issues or bugs yet.
Also I have not tested it yet to see if it works but from what I can see so far is that it has enabled the Miracast display option again I'm not sure if it works yet I have not tested it I'm also not sure if this phone will support it hardware wise but I did notice it and tried it with no issues or freezing. I Am planning on flashing resurrection remix and trying it out anyway hope that was helpful for more info check out porting on mediatek devices, check out project treble ,also check out the resurrection remix project and of course the lineage os project thank you.

Help
Hi, what version of the linage os 15.1 did you install? Doogee isnt´t in the compatibility list...

It was phussons unofficial lineage os GSI treble rom.

It was phussons unofficial lineage os GSI treble rom. Also I did have some compatibility issues but I think I flashed a older version of the GSI rom. This phone checks out as project Treble compatible but no one has done any development specifically for it alone. I had the best results flashing and running the phussons project Treble asop Android 9.0 GSI rom I had cell service and everything worked fine the only issue I had was the mediatek engineering mode would not work. From what I understand it has something to do with mediatek and there processor code not being open source don't quote me on that. but because of something like that nobody has done hardly any dev work on this phone and others with media tek soc's.

TI needed to make work miracast. Finally i sold the phone and bought an ulefone armor 6e. That was the solution. Thanks

S80 here, worked using SP_Flash tool to flash twrp and UnofficialLineage18.1(with no GAPPS) IMGs. Used no-verity6 to temporarily gain access to encrypted user partition, reboot into TWRP and factory reset....WHEW... it was about 3 days of fkn around.

Treble Rom Testing

Disclaimer:
Only use TWRP for zips and Fastboot for images as TWRP isn't 100% stable yet. This would be my recommendation to anyone else looking to mess around with treble and custom roms. That is unless you know what you're doing. Also I am NOT responsible for any dead or bricked devices.
This threads purpose is for testing and documenting working treble roms for our Moto G7.
Roms that work:
Havoc OS
Roms that DON'T work:
All of Erfan's GSI Ports
Resurrection Remix
Q Developer Preview
Pixel Experience
Prerequisites:
Bootloader must be unlocked
ADB must be installed on a working PC
TWRP installed or able to boot from Fastboot
How to install:
Reboot to bootloader
Install boot.img in fastboot (Linked HERE)
Install the rom.img of your choice in fastboot (Rom must be ARM64 AB also make sure to flash system with the command "fastboot flash system -u your_image.img"))
Wipe userdata in fastboot
Reboot to TWRP and tap wipe, advanced wipe, system, then repair or change file system, then resize file system
Install Magisk (optional) and OpenGapps (also optional but recommended) in TWRP
Reboot and enjoy
PSA - If anyone finds any other working roms please report it on this thread and I will test the rom and update the thread accordingly.

I'll probably give them a try sometime soon here but just a word of advice. I think only phh-treble roms work on our device atm. So any rom based on the phh-treble source code.
I'm not a fan of project treble. the roms are too buggy. I really miss the days of lineage nightlies. there is literally zero development for the G7
Yeah well treble is just fine. No one wants to develop for specific devices anymore cuz once the correct patches are upstreamed to the treble source code the ROMs will work fine. Phh already has 99% of everything working out of the box for the g7. Just not Bluetooth audio and there isn't an overlay for the notch yet (easy fix).

What modules are you using with edxposed?
Is there a way to install with TWRP?
How did you install RR. Was it fresh? Did you try to dirty flashover phh asop?
@CurbThePain sorry to go kinda off topic, but i have a g7 power, is it necessary to have a different kernel than stock (magisk patched) to boot a gsi on g7? Sorry if its a stupid question, im new to the whole treble/ab devices scene, and after the last rom i used, stock android is very lacking in features (came to the g7 power from sony xzp, existenz rom, non treble, a-only).
MIUI GSI from Erfan's ports works bro

Was unable to get Resurection remix or MSM xtended to boot. RR gets stuck at boot animation. phh's trebble runs ofc.

Yes, you can install it with pc using any supported tool but fastboot is not possible.
There hasn't been a way to unlock the bootloader. The only way we can enjoy any tweak is what we have achieved, that is root and customize recovery.
My Firmware is X573-QL1668DEF-O-191126V50
1. Is it possible to flash this Recovery without EDL Mode.
Due to Locked Bootloader We can't able to Any ROM that's weird

Hey man, yeah there will be updates, more than likely monthly when the new security patch comes out, sooner if there's new features released. As for OTA updates, it won't happen as long as the builds are unofficial. But updating is no problem, just download and flash the update in twrp and reboot

Got it to install. The essential part for me is -
Download/Install firmware with the latest version of Moto Flash Tool
After that flashing works like a charm. I will post more updates shortly.
Edit: Boot to system failed :-( with unable to open loop device. I tried it multiple times, all the steps from the start, but unfortunately same error. Does it matter if flash the Android 10 or 11?
I will attempt if I get the same error with omnirom.

After using all available rom for motorola one fusion plus I can say that this rom is more stable and can use as daily driver.
Everything working fine.. Only one problem is widevine decrease to l3... And i think its bacoz of bootloader unlock.
Banking app and UPI aap working fine.. Without magisk.. Root.
But i root my device and by just hide root all app works fine.. Bt in new canary update of magisk which remove many features....ie magisk hide. And module section.. Now cts failed with root.. But u can fix by enabling zygisk and it will work fine..
Only sbi yono don't work with root... Bt yono lite is working fine..
All thanks to developers.
I really liked the ROM, but unfortunately the fingerprint doesn't work on it, I don't know if I did something wrong when installing the ROM, but anyway... I had to go back to Stock ROM, I will wait the factory att to Android 11, is better...

I too faced the same issue. In bootloader mode ROM got flashed but with errors. Then it go to Fastbootd and system keeps showing waiting for device. It got struck. I then had to flash stock ROM via lmsa to proceed.
EDIT : This was happening because drivers were not updated on my PC running Win 11. For that I had to connect my phone in bootloader mode to PC. Just went to optional updates. There I installed 2 optional updates one named Qualcomm and the another one named Android ADB, Try again your phone will boot up in this Custom ROM

Hey ich habe mir verschiedene Roms runtergeladen es fehlt immer die Datei payload.bin
mache ich was falsch?
soll fehlt heißen!
Mod translation via GT:
Hey, I've downloaded different ROMs and the payload.bin file is always missing
am I doing something wrong?
should mean missing!
I have a XT2067-3 (running Stock Android 11 - RPIS31.Q2-42-25-1) and have never installed a Custom ROM on it or rooted this device before. I followed Motorola's website instructions to unlock the bootloader using the key provided by them via email.
After that, I successfully flashed the ROM (after a few errors, I had to install the Google USB drivers as well, apart from the Motorola Drivers). When the phone rebooted into fastbootd, my Windows (10) would not recognize the phone. Installing the Google USB drivers through Device Manager worked immediately, incase anyone else runs into this error.
My main question is, can I flash a Custom Recovery (like TWRP) after flashing this ROM?

I flashed twrp and it's not working ..... The ota updates are not installing as well ( I guess ota updates require a recovery )
I did install another recovery and it's still not working so I manually flashed the update .....

Phone stopped booting after flashed 2 custom rom.

Hi guys
I have an oppo r7sf has 1.5ghz Qualcomm 4gb ram.
I flashed project spectrum first, then installed linage os android 9 and mokee os android 9 also.
Both of them wifi didn't work.
I already asked for that here My old post
Then i flashed lower version of android then NONE of them boot up.
I guaranteed that i installed with the same strategy.
Format data, dalvik, cache and system partion at the advanced wipe section.
Next get the rom and installed both rom, root and gapps.
It just hang in logo for 10s and shut down.
Your browser is not able to display this video.
Now even linage os 9 that i flashed before also not booting.
I even not to install either root or gapps or both but the same result
The only custom os i can boot is project spectrum (flashed again XD)
I am thinking of the recovery of this phone.
I flashed almost all version of twrp but only a *third party* one ran.
Link to the post itself The post
Intrestingly, he has almost the same problem as my phone: error 7, all version has dtb error- happened to all *genuine *twrp
Link to recovery that they uploaded: Third party twrp that worked
I also heard that most oppo phones, new or old are not easy to installed custom rom, and if it did, most essential things will not work with full of bugs.
I think i give up on this phone now. It will be put into my S21 ultra 5G box. I will bury it right after my dead dog's location within a week.
I have prepared, you must be fast!
