Ok so I just installed the Dasaita 10.2 4gb/32gmb 1din in my Jeep JK. AWWWWEEsomme. Now I would like to add a custom rom. So as most are aware this unit has no physical buttons, that being said, I was wondering if anyone knows were the SD slot and the pinhole reset buttons are. Don't wanna have to pull unit back out if I don't have too.... HotAudio????? LOL
Also any suggestion on the best Rom too run on this unit, thanks all

Yes a permanent fix would be buying a button from Ebay for a few bucks and replace it.

I got the new button in and put it in and nothing changes. I took the button out completely and it disengaged the power button completely. So it must be the internal mechanism. Any advice on how I can fix that?
Thanks

Did you check the continuity with the new button? You bought the button that required to solder to the main board right? not just the power button cover!
Here is link to check continuity and replacing the power button: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWbahqYdtaI

I assumed that you soldered the button correctly, I would use an ohm meter to test the continuity when the button is pressed and released, just to verify that the button is good and make sure all solder joints are good. If all the above checked out, then the last thing is replace the main board, shop on Ebay for a clean ESN board (price range from 80-90$. I don't know if you want to go all the way or just use xposed app to by pass the button and wait to buy a new one?

Could you explain to me what soldering it correctly means? held it to the motherboard with a clip so that the prongs were close to or in the holes and i soldered the back side.
Thanks

Usually, after soldering, you need to verify continuity, sometime you may experiencing cold solder joints, where the lead is there but no contact. The board is coated, so you need to sand down the contact so that when you applied the lead, it will make contact.

I'm going to try again tomorrow. I just don't know how I can get the two little prongs under that button soldered into the little holes on the motherboard. Any suggestions? Would liquid solder work?

So I think i messed something up resoldering it. Now it wont turn on at all. I talked to verizon and they are sending me a new one (for free). What is the best way for me to reformat my phone if it wont turn on.
And
Should i leave the button unsoldered inside the phone. or attempt to resolder it back on so its just there?
I dont want to be charged for tampering with the inside of the phone.
Thanks
Resolder the button back on and send back the dead phone. I'm not worry about the software but messing around with hardware is more concerns.

Core Board replacement

Hey guys,
I have a Witson Head unit that is bricked or something, it has only black screen and the backlights flash when press power button or reset button. I tried so far every way to recover the unit with no success.
A person from Witson sent me 2 files to update the unit but did not work. So he told me that I will need to replace the core board.
Is it something that I can do? It must be from the exactly same model and vendor or the core board are "generic" for all MTCD units? Just in case the core board from witson is more expensive than for others.
Thanks for your help.

Hi guys.
I bought KD Android 5.1 MTCD, 1024*600 car unit 3 month ago.
Unfortunately just after replacing the car battery (replace battery is sometimes with a number of small sparks) the unit completely dead, no screen, no power, no sound and it is not turned on at all that is bricked or something. I cannot see even the lollipop logo.
I tried so far every way to recover the unit with no success. It has only black screen and the backlights flickering when press power button or reset button.
The company say probably because of main board failure and suggest me finding someone to check the main board if it have any problem or not.
Would you please help me how I can check the main board?
Is it possible that main board have no problem and the core board have problem?
How do I find out the problem is related to the main board or the core board to order it?
Thanks a lot

MTCD screen is displayed mirrored

I am facing a very strange bug since yesterday on my MTCD KGL.
The screen is mirrored, but the touch panel is not. So everything looks like seeing it through a mirror, but the touch panel is still in the correct orientation.
So e.g. a "Cancel" button is displayed as "lecnaC" and is on the right, but I still have to touch on the left to push it.
Even the boot logo and the recovery are mirrored.
WTF???
Do you have an idea what is going on with my unit?
Damn, this thing is not really usable anymore.
Just another "cheap" China product for the bin.
I should have better lit some cigars with the three 100€s...
So out of nothing it mirrord en before not?
Then it's software problem so fixable... flash MCU, flash image.
Everything comes form China nowadays, besides you know the risk if you want to buy cheap unit...

Yeah, did that already. Didn't help. That's why I'm like wtf...
Meanwhile I found out, that when I'm playing with the hardware power button, pressing it until reboot, that's flashing three times, then randomly pressing it short or long, I can change the mirroring from "flip over short side" to "flip over long side". But that's even worse. Did not manage to get it to correct orientation.
I know sometimes you win, but this time I seem to lose heavily.
Thanks pal.
This happened to mine and i couldn't understand what happened...tried every setting and a factory reset with no luck. And then one day it fixed itself. HOWEVER i did read on another forum a display cable comes loose inside and causes this. Just need to open it up and re secure the display cable...
This happened to my mtcb joying unit. I asked the manufacturer and they said it's like the graphics chip.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Normally these use a long ribbon cable to connect the internal boards together and then another to connect the display board to the LCD.
On my last unit the LCD cable was pinched by the metal case, causing random display issues.
Taking it apart and readjusting the cable so it was not pinched solved the problems.
Most manufacturers put the ribbon right at the bottom of the case, so any pressure on the bottom of the LCD can cause issues.

EONON GA2171S - Does the volume knob have a push-button for power?

Hi everyone, the other day I could swear that I had held down the volume knob on this unit and managed to get into recovery mode... I have since tried again and the knob doesn't respond at all. It doesn't click or anything.
Just wanted to check if anyone else with this specific unit has a button or am I going crazy
I'd say most likely I broke the button somehow?
Ever figure this out? Had same thing happen. Pulled it off and put back on again and it worked. Apparently can push in too far.

Yes I did thanks! Same as you I pulled off the knob and found that it just pushed too far on the shaft. They had a piece of masking tape wadded up inside the knob to space it, but it has obviously compressed with use. I added some folded paper and pushed it back on the shaft and it has been fine ever since.
I did not know about the tape. If happens again, I will do the same!

Or figure out what you own in an attempt to find out or narrow down from the many posts/ info and contribute to further discourse, apparently.
If looking for support, you've got to help others here help you, which does require a little effort. If that's not for you, probably contacting the reseller should be a first call. You might have tried the reseller, but how one can know without your commentary.

Tried the seller, now since 6 months, so far no help. Have not found any one that had the same problem, but thanks for your reply anyhow
When you power off and back on, does the splash screen show up reversed? This would help indicate whether the issue is software problem vs a hardware problem. Once the unit is booted up and everything showing up backwards, do the touch screen elements respond to touch in their new reversed positions? If the on screen elements in their new positions respond to touch, that would indicate that the digitizer essentially is reversed in addition to the LCD underneath. Quite odd, indeed.
I would suggest to connect a USB mouse to the unit and use that to navigate your way to the factory reset menu and give that a try.

Thanks for your reply. Yes when staring up the splash screen is reversed as well. To use the Icons you have to touch the screen on the opposite side of where the icon is displayed. I will try the suggestion with the mouse to navigate and report back,
Thanks again
