Hi,
Is there any options to disable or enable the notification about system software update?
Thank you in advance.

From everything I have read... there is no way to prevent to notification for system update. This is particularly annoying as the 'system update notification' will interrupt alarms. My update notification comes in the morning (every day lately), and the alarms (Google Clock) have been broken.
Bit of a problem.
I don't know if it works but you can switch off automatic system updates in developer options

Guys my pop up notification for 5.0.1 has arrived. But I don't want to update. How can I get rid of the notification from constantly showing in my drop down bar? I've selected "later" but it keeps coming up every so often. I'm running a rooted N5 along with the brilliant XGels and Gravity Box. I really don't want to lose these great apps.

Download this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rs.autorun
Open in advanced mode, go into it's settings and enable for system apps.
Then in the UI (if its annoying, try in landscape), tap on Google Play Services and disable everything with "SystemUpdateService" in it.
Blocking the notifications from SystemUI/framework in Settings could block other system notifications, and it'll still download the OTA (download wakelock) until you take it.

Gravity box has settings for blocking notifications of apps. Use it.

The notification for 5.0.1 only occurs while on 5.0. Gravity Box is not an option.

Thanks mate. Will try.
Wakamatsu, I'm currently on 4.4.4 and getting the 5.0.1 update message.

Odd. I would think that you would get the 5.0 update notification first. If you're on 4.4.4 and not using ART, GB is definitely a way to go.
Like Lethargy said, use Autostarts to disable all the receivers with "system update service" in their name. That's the only way to completely block your phone from downloading the update without any wakelocks. Or the easy route would be to disable notifications from play services, but then the update will still be there, it just won't show up in your notifications tray.
I'm not sure about this.
Just hold the notification and then drag to App- Info and Force stop that .
If that works reply me.
Even I'm eager to know if it works.

There is no need to. When update notification appear go to GravityBox settings and block that notification (from play services). Thats all. You don't need any third party app for doing this.

Or you could long press the notification, use the app info menu and block the notifications for the play services, without using gravity box.

You could, but with time notification about update will appear again. That's because untick notification in stock settings will not block all notifications activity and you can't disable everything with "SystemUpdateService" as Lethargy descripted well.
On the other side, GravityBox will do this entirely.
Regards, Zagor
P.S. I do both off solution on my phone with 4.4.4 - Xposed, so thats why I'm so sure about it.

I think there are 2 apps generating the notification for I once stopped the first and other started to appear but after stoping that one it never appeared again.
I have an app that I don't want to update. Any way to disable the market update notification?
I've found some old thread but the solution is quite involved.

Thanks
Just go to playstore and disable auto update, if it's from Samsung apps then do the same but on samsung apps.

Yes. But that still get the notification. Annoyance aside, if I'm not careful and click on update all, it will get updated. Is there a way not to even show the update notification?
Go to the Settings > Apps then select your app, Uncheck "Show Notifications" checkbox and done. Maybe that help you.
Try user Cevem's way, it could work. If not then please post a screen shot, that way it would be easier to know what the problem is exactly.

Sorry. I meant the notification from Google Play that an update is available. Not the notification from the app.
I've found 3C toolbox. Its unlink function appears to be permanent, compared to what TB does
I recently bought my pixel 2 and some apps won’t send notifications. I already tried setting them to “not optimized” at battery optimization.
Both of the apps are news apps… both are set to “on” at the notification center.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Won't send notifications as in the apps aren't appearing in the notification drawer and are supposed to be? Perhaps in the apps themselves you need to go in and enable push notifications from notification settings within the app settings. I know with CNN and FOX this has to be done. Try that, otherwise install and reinstall. Doubtful this is a phone specific problem.

already asked to honor support, there is no solution to disable them,
only oreo 8.1 has the option to disable them, otherwise they would have to add it...i doubt they will...
The only way is install the app: AutoNotification
->in the Notification Blocking menu,
->add a new voice with:
App: Android system
Filter Title: "displaying over other apps"
and remember to disable battery optimizations for AutoNotification

Thanks. Will try. On another note, Should i expect any future updates like security patches, or an 8.1 update for that matter, for honor 8? Just curious.

for what i know, i don't think they will update to 8.1, they would have already done so, avoiding the 8.0 version...
updates for this year 2018 surely, both bugfixes/improvements and security

actually, you can! it's just hidden between unaccessible menus.

I am having issues with my alarm after Oreo. It doesn't seem to activate while the phone is in deep sleep. Any fix for this? Already tried turning on the priority display in notification.

@ahadshah
Thank you for this hint!
I created an apk to open that hidden menu directly! :good::victory:
Anyone can now access it without installing nova launcher
OpenAppNotifications APK Download
This is the steps to disable notification "displaying over other Apps":
->Install and open: OpenAppNotifications
->Open upper options menu and select "Show system processes"
->Find and open "Android System"
->Turn OFF for each app "displaying over other Apps"
Screenshot of what it looks like when that happens? They aren't in a rush to get Oreo out in North America.
I have a problem after oreo update...while charging only 'charging' is pop up in lock screen instead of 'fast charging' & there is only one bolt symbol in battery icon instead of double bolt symbol...have u faced it?
Is there any easy way to bring back notification peeking settings on Android pie as I need to turn it off for some apps and not others but still get visual and audible feedback (no do not disturb mode). If anyone knows an app that can do this or if it is possible to directly port it from Oreo I'd appreciate it.

Notification peeking is the name for when you receive a notification and a pop-up drops down showing a preview of it. For example Snapchat "is typing" notification

I think your talking about heads-up notifications... in order to disable that on a per app basis.. just go to settings/applications and find the app you want it to stop for and choose notifications. Choose the specific notification category you want to stop and change the 'behavior' from 'make sound and pop on screen' to just 'make sound'. Hope that's what you were looking for!
