Root and flash ROM a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10 1 P5210 - General Questions and Answers

Hi
This is my first post here, I'm not a developer or in any way a pro but I am reasonably savvy, so bear with me ?
Is it still possible to root my Tab 3 P5210? And then flash a custom rom of android 6 upwards?
It currently runs on android 4.4.2 but im not sure if that was the version it was purchased with originally. I tried recently when i followed instructions from another thread on here but i soft bricked my device (same as OP - passed on odin, tab stuck on loading screen), although i did recover it back to its previous state eventually. I was using the latest Odin V13, but im not sure if the version of android or odin version needed to be specified for using the right apk(?)
files?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Rooting procedures for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GSM

Hello XDA.
I recently got a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GSM from a cousin asking for me to root it and install CM on it for her. I am quite familiar with rooting, unlocking and installing custom ROMs but that was on Nexus devices. After some searching around the forum, I find it a bit odd & different from how the process of doing so in Nexus devices.
My questions are:
1) Does it work in the same procedure? Unlock bootloader -> Install recovery -> flash SuperSU (root) & ROM
Because that's what I did with my Nexus devices and it worked fine.
2) Does ADB work the same way? Does fastboot even exist in all Android devices?
I haven't tried yet, as I do not have the proprietary cable with me.
3) How do I completely restore back to stock by flashing?
I saw an Odin method (which I am unfamiliar with) but it says, it requires me to be in Android itself. What if I am stuck in bootloop?
Thanks so much.

[Completed] Restoring a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 SCH-I925 (Verizon) to stock image.

I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 SCH-I925 that has some form of a custom build on it. The settings are locked with an admin password. It appears to be customized for a specific use and I'm trying to determine how it can be restored to a stock image of the appropriate Android build so that it can be put to good use. I've tried searching and find different instructions on how to install a fresh build and IPL to a stock system.
Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks for your expertise.

[Completed] [Q] Note 4 Help With Root + Mobile Odin

Howdy all,
Just as the title say's, I'm in doing a Note 4 root and am coming into some trouble's since it's my first time doing one.
I follower the how to post by Chainfire , Proceed'd with the process with out issue and installed a few apps that are for root phones and they all seem to work fine.
Search'd around a bit more for a custom rom to use, and decided on trying out X-Note.
Installed the Mobile Odin app and open'd it after the install was complete but i get the following message:
Device model not supported (or not detected - check root) !
Generate a dump file that may help make this device compatible.
Phone Details:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Model Number: SM-N910G - Android version: 4.4.4
Now all that's out the way its question time.
1: Where do i send the mobile odin text dump too?
2: Will X-Note G-910F rom be compatible with G-910G?
3: Can it be flashed using the window's odion via usb cable?
ps.
Any other suggestion's for a nice rom would be great, as well as any tips on what not to remove from system app storage.
Went to download the Dr.Keaton Rom and it gave me spyware on the installer :| Anyone got a safe one with no malware attacked to a downloader?
Hi,
All roms will probably show up as viruses/malware ... As they are customized firmware, Usually rooted and all of that will show as exploits to a virus scanner. If you are worried, read the last few pages of any rom thread, whatever current issues there are will be discussed.
As far as your other questions, Here's a dedicated help thread for your device that you can ask for help in,

Good luck!

SM-G920W8 CF-Auto-Root has old version

Hey I'm new here and hope I've got the right area to post in if not can you please direct me to where I can request an update to the CF auto-root for SM-G920W8, it is at 6.1 but I have 7.0
Hey I have an SM-G920W8 and I'm attempting to root for the first time just for pogo to get around the new update.
I've downloaded odin and the guide I was using last night warned not to flash a rom with a different version than your phone or it could result in bricking your phone.
I've figured everything else out, my phone is recognized and I can boot to download but I'm afraid to flash the old version.
I have no idea how to create any of this on my own so I'd like to formally request an update for this version of the phone.
Thank you for your time and directions.

Chainfire I am also wondering if there is plans for any CF-Auto root for our Canadian phone now that the Version 7 ROM is out?
Is there anything needed from us to get this update of CF-Auto root added to your list?
if no CF-Auto root can we flash the SuperSU 2.82 using TWRP for our phones? I tried 2.79... and TWRP stopped part way through and got a bootloop when i rebooted the phone.

Need help un-rooting my S7

Hi All
I had and still have the latest software for SM-G930F
I followed a tutorial to root my s7 but then realised that root does not work properly on android 8.0.0
I would love some help to un-root my s7.
Baseband version
G930FXXS7ESL5
Build Number
R16NW.G930FXXS7ESL5
I have used odin to re flash original firmware but it still says the device is rooted.
like Samsung pass comes up this device is rooted so this option is unavailable.
i used sm-g930f cf-auto root, magic-disk and no-verify-opt-encrypt 6.1 and have twrp 3.3.1.0-herolte
it will only let me re-flash android 8.0.0 original firmware witch i though would wipe the the phone completely and un-root but i was most certainly wrong.
i wold love my s7 back on android 7.0 or below so that i can have a custom rom installed.
If you need more info let me know and thanks i advance to all the developers, moderators and users.
thanks
John
Hey there, since you have twrp already installed you could look into some of the custom roms if you want theres even Pie roms with OneUi avaliable, i have almost no experience with cf autoroot but if you want to completely get rid of previous system files before flashing the firmware select the option 'nand erase' in odin and make sure you fill every file to its respective field.
I would suggest against using 'plz' 'pls' in the title or your thread because that will most likely get you ignored, feel free to give me an update if that worked for you!
