WhatsCloud is an android app which allows you to analyze your WhatsApp chat history on the fly with only one click
Edit
Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.mordred.whatscloud
Project Page: https://github.com/sirmordred/WhatsCloud
We’re all using WhatsApp everyday and we are part of countless WhatsApp chat groups but Have you ever wondered statistical data about your chats like how many message sent so far? How many of them are mine? Which words are used at most? etc.
WhatsCloud might help you find out by analyzing your WhatsApp chats on the fly with only one click. It’s a data analysis and visualization app which features:
Analyze chat with each participants
Graphical representaion of statistical data via charts and graphs
Interactive graphs (zoom and pan)
Most active chat participants
Average message sending frequency
etc.
How is it working?
Although WhatsApp doesn’t give us a public API, it does allow users to export their chat history into a *.txt file.
WhatsCloud analyzes that user generated export of chat history on the fly and gives various graphical represantations of analyzed statistical data
There will be more features and different statistical data in the future, Feel free to send me your opinions requests via project page written above
CHANGELOG
-Version 2.0
Added custom date format selector (so users can change date format through settings if they face any issue on stats)
Newly added "word counter" stats and metrics for both common group stats and individual participants stats
Most active chat participants
Fixed various exceptions
Increased font sizes of text on charts and graphs
Eliminated duplicated codes
Misc. fixes and updates
-Initial Release
Enjoy :good:
This is a great app to compare how many messages you sent vs. your spouse, for instance. It has great graphics and word placement to see more stats.
Would love to see a share feature in future releases to send results to contacts.
I just read about it in the xda, let me try it and come back for my review.
Just installed, looks promising and fun!!!
One extrange bug is that I get active days in 2020, 2021.
And a recommendation\feature request: add a total word count to statistics, next to total message count. Checking some chats, I'm always down in message count, but for sure a made them longer hehe (sending this right now to github)
Hello bro! Could the data exported be used for training AI models/networks?
So we're giving permission to this app to read all our messages?
Hi
I use whatsapp business and a modded whatsapp rather than regular whatsapp. Can you add a feature to select what whatsapp version the user is running.
Cheers

No, the app reads only the messages you export in txt.
Not even close to open and read your WhatsApp chats database.

Okay thanks for clarifying! I'll give it a try!
What happens with the data I feed to the app after I got my graphs? Do the app keep it and upload it somewhere? I tried to find privacy policy for your app but couldn't locate it, so asking here.

It shouldn't make any difference i think, isn't there "export chat history" option on WhatsApp Business too? if there is, it should simply work i though :good:

WhatsCloud is just analyzes exported chat via stream on-the-fly and so it does not save that data stream to anywhere as .txt like file managers, it just does what it offers and thats all
Here is the privacy policy too mate: https://github.com/sirmordred/WhatsCloud/blob/master/Privacy%20Policy.md
Enjoy :good:
Very nice app, mate. Congrats.
Say, is it possible to add option to analyze stats per single world?
What I mean is this - I would like to track the usage of a single world over time.
So basically, I want to be able see most used words with their count and if pressed on one of them, to display their usage over the time.
Usage example:
To see the frequency of the word "crashed" over time in order to see how we improved (or gotten worse) over time at work.
Thank you very much!

Here’s an advanced good looking data, calls and message tracking app for you — Callistics - call and data statistics. It keeps track of all your call logs more efficiently than your phone’s in-built call log with advanced functions like specific day chart, number of incoming and outgoing calls and messages for day, metrics provided per contact, and many more. What is more you can see your mobile, wifi and roaming data usage in total or per application. In settings you can add numbers to excluded number list where you can call for free and send messages for free. These numbers are not counted in statistics.

Nice app, nice design and very simple, which is by my meaning usefull.
When i want to see statistic, it is sorted by months (billing periods). Is it possible add function, where users have possibility to choose own period? For example, i want to see statistic for previous 6 months in one graph.
P.S. díky za apku
will be added

Goal of Callistics - call statistics is giving users clear statistics of them calls and messages. In the main page of the application there are charts for calls and messages and in contact detail you can see how often you communicate with particular person. In the settings you can manage billing period, limit for calls and messages and excluded numbers list.

Very Nice & useful .. keep up the good work...
Will you consider adding data details also?
Great design, simple and nice. But it's lacking call time rounding and UTF-8 character support for SMS. So all the data is pretty much incorrect for me, I can't rely on it at all.
Nice design and simple to use
Liking the app. It's really simple. Keep up the good work. :good:
Feature request
Amazing app!!! Does exactly what it says!
If you have time, could you also add the stats for data connection too? and limit notification?
Please add Data Monitor Support & a Dark Theme wuld also be nice to have..!!
A nice UI and useful app.
Please add option to exclude Telemarketing nos.
I've added two screencaps from the app Phone Fee Assistant. This is the kind of stuff I need most: (1) when I open it up the first screen should be a complete summary of the current month (in-out call times, number of calls and texts); (2) I need a month-by-month report where I can see minutes and texts used, all at a glance.
That's the only app I ever found that does this, which is why it's the only one I use.
The graphs and top caller/texter breakdowns are nice, but I only need them occasionaly, whereas I want to keep an eye on my minutes and texts all the time. And I don't like having to dig through several screens and dropdowns to see what's going on.
period summary
monty by month overview
Great app bro'. I'll bye the pro version!
So far so good.. But could you add widgets to display the stats please.. Both on the home screens and/or Drop down notifications.. Thanks
Great app, nice and simple design.
I feel that in Brazil this would be a must have app and an easy and justifiable sell. There is no unlimited data plan here and mobile operators have no app nor web statistics for keeping up with your phone usage. I've been looking for an app to do it for years and there is only one UGLY "Telecomtrol" app that is far from easy to set up.
For this to work you would have to make a few changes to it:
By law any call made in less than 30 sec is considered 30 sec of usage.
All operators have unlimited call for other phones from the same operator. To identify which operator the contact number is there is an app that changes contact type to the operator name. It is called "Qual operadora?" This info could thus be used to discriminate between statistics, leaving those calls out of the bill..
Phone calls between diferent states are billed apart. You must be able to control those as well..
PT-BR translation - send me a PM, I can help with that.
That said, you can charge for it. People WILL pay. Regards.
Really great app and great UI !
Future request:
a) Data counting
b) Cost summary would be awesome!
THX !

It is WRITE_CALENDAR permission. Required for the calendar search and events creation. I do not know why the google name it so. Happy to see new permission model in Marshmallow, - app has support for it.
waw, this is just what I was looking for.
I've been using Call Informer, but isn't updated for a long time ago, and ... most of the times it doesn't work, so this is what I need.
but ... I think it should display all selected fields ( see image below), but I see only notes. Second try I saw also email. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, can this app display notes included on my contacts details?
Thank you for this app, anyway, I'll start trying from now on ...
I don't typically use the native dialer and my carrier number. Instead, 95% of my calls are made/received through Hangouts. Will this work with Hangouts? If not, can it be implemented?
This app is a great idea, by the way!

HappyID should show all available information if android address book contact has one of course. On Marshmallow app should has right permissions available for access the address book. Please try to reinstall (please do not forget to backup notes first) or kill app, maybe something goes wrong.

I understand what you use the other permissions for, but what do you need/ use the following permissions for?
Calendar:
* read calendar events plus confidential information
* add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owners' knowledge
Other:
* full network access
* view network connections
This is definately an app I would pay for if I can get a clear understanding of the reason for the seemingly unnecessary permissions, especially the full network access permission.

Thanks. That was the answer I was afraid of. As it is now, the Hangouts incoming call screen is abysmal.
Good luck with the awesome app!!
I've had the desire to have an application like this this about 4 months ago.
And it's a pretty good implementation! Do you think it's possible to show the last exchange/sent/received SMS between you and the caller/person you are dialing out. I feel that this would be a tremendous help.

Dear XDA-developers-Community ,
We are a team of two students from Europe and we would like to present you our new free Android application BirthdayBrain. [GOOGLE PLAY]
The issue we want to solve: Frequently when a friend’s birthday comes you either forget it or even though you get reminded, you often don’t find time to congratulate the way you would like to.
Our App BirthdayBrain gives you the possibility to choose a convenient moment to personally draft your birthday wishes instead of congratulating on the actual birthday. You can do so easily prior to your family and friends’ actual birthday and your birthday wish will be sent automatically on your preferred platform, SMS or WhatsApp. The notification of the successful delivery reminds you again of their birthdays, your thoughts are with them once more and you can await the thank-you note at ease.
We would to like to present you some features of BirthdayBrain:
★ Import date of birth from FACEBOOK
★ Import from CONTACTS: name, phone number and the date of birth if recorded
★ List of birthdays including profile images designed with the latest Android platform
★ AUTOMATIC SENDING of your personally drafted birthday wish with SMS or WhatsApp on birthday
★ Easily change the default sending time of your SMS or WhatsApp message
★ Preview screen: gives you a summary of your birthday contact as well as birthday message and shows if the birthday wish is already sent successfully as SMS or WhatsApp message
★ Use as a REMINDER only: you can easily change it from automatic sending to only use it as a reminder and vice-versa in case you feel to have enough time to send birthday wishes on the actual birthday

=> Customized for all age groups – also for companies: BirthdayBrain gives you the possibility to manage all birthdays of your employees. As a company leader or HR manager – you can easily conjure a smile on each and every employee’s face by sending them a personal birthday message as SMS or WhatsApp.
Congratulating the most comfortable, personal, emotional and time optimized way – that’s the added value from BirthdayBrain!
We are looking forward to receiving your feedbacks, personal opinions and questions.

Thanks for your feedback!
The basic idea is to use the app for birthdays, since we want to close that market gap for "automatic sending" of personal birthday wishes. Nevertheless, it actually works for every occasion if you want to get reminded or send a personally drafted message automatically on a specific date. For now you could add a new contact with "Name (Anniversary").
Does that answer your question ?

Hi,
That goes into the question of steelersmb. Basically you can add every Name and date you want and get reminded or automatically send either a birthday message or a message for an anniversary/another date. If it is a specific event and not only a birthday, you could add a contact with "Name & Event" to get reminded and draft a specific message for it.
I hope that helps.

Notifix
Content Aware Notification Management!
Hassle free categorization of notifications based on its content and type.
Notifix uses app type and processes notification content using machine learning to automatically group notifications into their respective categories - not just based on the app's name. Not just another notification manager!
You can later check those grouped notifications without losing content and the link that the notification carries.
It is powered by TensorFlow™ and is continuously being developed. Feel free to pour in your suggestions!
It automatically categorizes notifications into either of the 5 categories: Primary/Promotions/News/Messages/Social, and they can be separately viewed without losing the deep-link that the original notification carried.

Permissions explained:
I have given a brief explanation in the Play Store listing.
Notification access: To read incoming notifications and categorize them.
Usage access: To see last used application and clear old notifications.
Contacts: To skip processing SMS/Messages if the sender is in contacts.
Phone: To find the default dialer and skip processing/grouping its notification.
I store the already determined app type and live notifications locally to make it easy to sort. There was also a plan to display an archive of cleared notifications (not carrying the deep-link). So storage is also needed (SQL databases basically).
Hoping to find alternate ways to accomplish those requirements so that those sensitive permissions aren't needed.

In the screenshot, it's saying updated 1 app Google Docs on the first line, the second line it's saying updating Google Docs, which was supposed to be disappeared after the first line appears.
And once this happens, newer notifications from Google Play will not be grouped under this group anymore.
Hope you can understand what I'm saying.

why is the "Read contacts" permission needed?
and if possible, could you elaborate on the following 2 permissions as its the first time i saw them in apps?
- "run the application's scheduled background work"
- "update component usage statistics"
thx..
Sounds interesting, but any chance of making the account linking optional? The app won't even start unless you provide a Google account, which is something i'd rather not do until at least after i test the app to see if it's for me or not.

I store the already determined app type and live notifications locally to make it easy to sort. There was also a plan to display an archive of cleared notifications (not carrying the deep-link). So storage is also needed (SQL databases basically).
Hoping to find alternate ways to accomplish those requirements so that those permissions aren't needed.

Sounds interesting, but any chance of making the account linking optional? The app won't even start unless you provide a Google account, which is something i'd rather not do until at least after i test the app to see if it's for me or not.

I can make it. But logging in is currently needed for the app to function properly (it's also used for easy categorization inside the app other than just saving your preferences).
I'll look for ways to do that. Hopefully within 1 or 2 updates I can do that.

I know that feels strange (being a user myself). I have given a brief explanation in the Play Store listing.
Notification access: To read incoming notifications and categorize them.
Usage access: To see last used application and clear old notifications.
Contacts: To skip processing SMS/Messages if the sender is in contacts.
Phone: To find the default dialer and skip processing/grouping its notification.

thx for the detailed explanation.. :good:
Hi!
I'm testing your app, it looks quite good. But I have a problem: it doesn't show the message category. It hides all the mails and messages of Telegram and WhatsApp without showing anything. The rest of categories are right.

Sounds strange. Can you try changing the delay period for Messages?

Thanks @Primokorn for making this list of names!
It is time for a new, modern, open source, privacy friendly email client for Android.
I have just released a first alpha version for feedback on the design and features.
Not for production use yet!
Most of the stuff basically works, but be prepared for crashes and error notifications.
Safe email is a working name, but it is for several reasons not a convenient name, so suggestions for a name are welcome.
Great idea and big project.
Good luck !
I'll be following you.
Thanks
For the name, what about NetMail ?
As I always say with your new projects: "Downloading..." Feedbacks will come later.
I finally left K9 mail after using it for several years.
Thanks again for your work for the Android community!
I have just released alpha version 0.2
Alpha versions are not for production use!
Changelog/download:
https://github.com/M66B/open-source-email/releases
In case of error notifications you can now send me a logcat via the navigation drawer menu, but please check this XDA thread first to prevent me from looking into the same problem over and over again.
Feedback about the design, structure, navigation, features, etc is very welcome.
Great first impression so far. Thanks Marcel!

The reported problem will be fixed in the next release:

If you were wondering why you occasionally need to refresh messages in most other email apps, including the Gmail app, to get new email: these apps don't start a foreground service like this app does. This means that especially recent Android versions will kill the background service(s) of these app after some time, which will results in not only missing emails, but also in polling/synchronizing again, which is a waste of battery power and of internet bandwidth.
The foreground service of this app will synchronize messages in real time with the disadvantage of showing a low priority status bar notification, although the notification is a reassuring sign that things still work and it even shows some useful information, like the number of operations pending (mark as read, messages to send, etc).
If you use a well known email provider with this app and the provider is not listed in the account/identity screen, please provide the details of the provider (name, IMAP/SMTP host name/port number/STARTTLS) here.
The details of the current providers are here:
https://github.com/M66B/open-source-email/blob/master/app/src/main/res/xml/providers.xml
Downloading, as it would nice to have an alternative to samsung email...

Just set up several accounts and tested, synchronized messages are extremely fast. looking forward to further development. Thanks!
Great idea Marcel @M66B, I am using K9.
Subscribed for use....keep it up!

I don't know if it's a well known email provider but including mailbox.org would be great:
<provider name="mailbox.org">
<imap
host="imap.mailbox.org"
port="993" />
<smtp
host="smtp.mailbox.org"
port="465"
starttls="false" />
I'm really looking forward to test your app!

Did you test if this provider works with the app?
I have just released alpha version 0.3
Changelog/download:
https://github.com/M66B/open-source-email/releases
A number of bugs were fixed, but this is still not for production!
Been using K9 for years, haven't found anything else I've liked to replace it. Looking forward to this -I'm a big fan of your work!
For yahoo.com:
imap.mail.yahoo.com:993,SSL/TLS true
smtp.mail.yahoo.com:587, STARTTLS True
When I try and configure yahoo with imap.mail.yahoo.com, port 993, it says "IDLE Not Supported" when I click on the OK button.
I am able to configure the SMTP server however with no issues using port 587
Provider: Posteo
<provider name="Posteo">
<imap
host="posteo.de"
port="993" />
<smtp
host="posteo.de"
port="465"
starttls="false" />
Tested and it works.
How does Fencemail sound?
