[FASTBOOT] Patched boot for V10.0.8.0 (April update) - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

Patched by Magisk v19,
also added stock one - extracted using Payload dumper.
Hope you'll save some time.

Grazie!

Thank you very much.
But, in order to make it work, I had to go to the settings of the magisk app to put the update parameters in beta mode then it worked.
Someone said the boot has been patched with the beta version of magisk.

I will try this. Thanks.

Hi. Is there a new patched image for latest magisk?

When i try to flash it with the magisk manager app it reboots automatically when it's backing up the stock boot img

[SOLVED] Can't update to Magisk 18 on Android P

I tried to flash to magisk 19, 18, and 17 without success. I sideloaded and installed the newest april 19 security update OTA, I also grabbed the boot.img from there.
I tried using magisk manager to patch the image, I've tried using TWRP to install it to boot, as well as flashing with the zip... But both methods yields the same outcome, I get an infinite load (or boot loop ig?) and it won't work.
I flashed back to the original boot.img and phone works again. I also installed magisk 16.7 (by sideloading the zip) and my phone is now rooted again. Please help me, how do I use a later version of magisk (preferably the latest stable one)?

Try flashing the magisk uninstaller prior to flashing magisk.

Thanks, that actually works.

Cannot flash Magisk properly

Hi, I am trying to flash magisk. I patched my boot.img and flashed it via fastboot. But it didn't work, Magisk app was still showing as not installed. Then, I tried the Recovery method (flashing the magisk zip), it tells that magisk patched to the boot.img file but this method didn't work too. But it said magisk patched to the boot.img. What can cause it?
My rom: Xiaomi.eu 21.12.8, Android 12
My device: Xiaomi Mi 10T (apollo)

Flashing the Magisk patched boot.img only installs the necessary binaries to gain root access, you have to manually install the Magisk Manager app to take advantage of the binaries that it installs. Flashing the patched boot.img does not automatically install the Magisk app on your device as part of the flashing process.

Lost root after installing TWRP. Can anyone share patched boot image for 11.0.5.1.GM21AA?

As above, I would appreciate it if someone could share a copy of a Magisk patched 11.0.5.1.GM21AA boot image. Thanks!
P.S. - Do not update to Magisk 24 or 24.1 unless you want to have to mess around with your phone!
Here you go.

I also had problems with updating Magisk trough the app. No root after reboot.
Could not get root access with flashing magisk in twrp. I tried several version of magisk but nothing worked. Ended up using the patched boot.img
Dont know what the problem is.

Thanks a lot!
I managed to get Magisk 23 installed, would the patched boot image be different from yours?

How did you do??
I tried to downgrade Magisk to 23.0 due to the lack of Magisk Hide but now my OnePlus 7 Pro is no longer rooted. So I tried to re-root it in several ways (flashing boot.img previously patched with Magisk Manager or by directly installing Magisk.zip with TWRP) but nothing to do, still without root...
I would like to try to use another boot.img but I would need one taken from a rom 11.0.5.1.GM21BA and patched with Magisk 23. I can't find it on the net.

Once you've upgraded to 24 or 24.1 it seems that the only way to go back to an older version is to use the built-in uninstall button in the Magisk app. Just trying to flash a new boot image over it doesn't seem to stick.
In my case, I had to:
Uninstall any version of the Magisk app
Install 24.1
Extract the boot image using Payload Dumper
Creating a 24.1 patched boot image to re-root my device
Uninstalling 24.1 using the uninstall button in the Magisk app
Install Canary Magisk (23 should work too)
Create a new 23 patched boot image and root using it
Still have not gotten around to fixing my MagiskHide and SafetyNet failing though, I think that requires some cache clearing and other steps to resolve. Also somehow managed to get rid of my TWRP accidentally along the way too, so I'll have to reinstall that again.
Thanks a lot!

I only see an "Install" button in the Magisk 24.1 app. I don't see an "Uninstall" button.
Were you already rooted when you saw the Uninstall button?

See steps 1-4. You have to temporarily root it by flashing a patched boot image (that was patched with 24.1) so that you can use the root privileges to uninstall Magisk. It's kinda ass-backwards I know...lol

Yep, that's weird. I was having (a ton of) trouble getting my phone rooted at the time, so that's why I didn't see it.

General Magisk 25.1 stable is out

Just updated from 24.3 to 25.1, everything seems fine.
First update of the manager, no problem. In manager tried to update magisk from 24.3 to 25.1. No errors in the log, but my phone (Mi9T Pro) didn't get past the Miui logo. Flashed 24.3 in Recovery again.
Any thoughts on how to update?
Edit: Solved. Dowloaded zip and flashed in recovery. All's well.
I have problem - I followed guide (https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-magisk/)
On my Xiaomi A2 (jasmine_sprout) I've extracted boot.img, patched with app and flashed boot from PC and after reboot I have Magisk app version 1.0. After running it it want's to upgrade but after downloading and confirming upgrade it upgrades, icon is changed to magisk app and then it is fall backed to basic version 1.0. Tried to adb install v25.1 from pc and it says:
adb: failed to install Magisk-25.1(25100).apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package com.topjohnwu.magisk signatures do not match previously installed version; ignoring!]
After manual unistalling remaining v1.0 new can be installed but when executed it is auto degraded to version 1.0
Could somebody give me a clue what happened?

Did you use magisk 25.1 to patch boot.img? And are you on Android 12?
I'm on android 11 And I've used magisk version 25.1 to patch boot.img
If you have twrp, try flash magisk in twrp.

Same here
OK, just flashed new custom ROM (Android 12.1), then Magisk 25.1 zip via twrp and finally Magisk apk app and it just works fine
Glad it works.

Extracted Stock Files

So I see a lot of people using magisk patched boot images that are really old. It'd be better to patch the image yourself from magisk and use that. The problem might be that it's not that easy to extract it.
You can find most of the stuff from stock rom extracted by me here. The files were extracted from the Indian varient. Make sure to use the appropriate files for your stock rom. The index site does have other files like some old and unstable kernels so don't go flashing everything you see from the root directory. This just started as a personal archive. The domain is free, so idk how long it'll stay active either.
As always, use everything at your own risk.

Yes, patching the boot image is the recommended way to install Magisk.
The official guide does ask to patch AP wholly for samsung devices, but patching the boot image itself is faster.
Official Guide
I don't understand why I get bootloops if I update to v25.x from v24.3 from the Magisk app (using direct method). As I understand it, it also (re-)patches the boot image.

That's how I updated too. Try flashing the magisk zip directly.
Or, only update the magisk app, patch the boot image, rename it as boot.img, put it in a tar file, and then flash it to "AP" using Odin.
Hmm... this is funny. I patched the stock boot image and flashed it using Odin and still got bootloops. I took a full nandroid backup beforehand so I was able to get everything working by flashing TWRP again and restoring the previous boot image.
I get bootloops if I install v25.x from TWRP after installing a rom or update to v25.x from v24.3 directly or by patching the stock boot image. The only one that's left now is flashing v25.x zip from TWRP (while having a functioning system with v24.3) but something tells me it's going to end in bootloops too.
