You'll need Chrome 74 and above. Open Chrome, type "chrome://flags" into the address bar, type "dark" into search. You'll see two options, enable both and restart Chrome. Go to settings and enable Dark Mode. You may need to restart Chrome a couple of times for the setting to show up. :good:
P.S. XDA still shows up white but some other websites will be dark.

Using latest FF on my 8010.
I cannot enter text in boxes e.g if I try to use ff to enter text in user name and password boxes nothing appears in the boxes!
Any ideas?
Is this on all sites or just one particular site? If it on just one, there is probably an issue with the layout of that site, have you tried desktop mode or switching the ua?
I usually stick with the stock browser because I don't have any issues with it. Also, you can try hackers keyboard on the market, in the setting you can set a persistent notification to call the keyboard up whenever. This can help if you need to type text but the organic keyboard doesn't want to stay up. I've had this problem with some flash inputs in the past and hackers keyboard was perfect for this application.
I have never used Light Manager before, but the idea of different colored lights for different types of notifications sounds useful. I have tried to get it to work for the past 3 days, but I can't find a combination of options that will work.
Is anyone using it successfully who might let me know what their configuration is?
I appreciate your time.
Did you remember to turn on the LED in your phone settings? You go to Settings>Notifications>Tap the gear in the upper right. Make sure you turn that switch on.
When you first open light manager it will prompt you to allow notification access which can be found under your phone's settings>apps>little gear at the top right>special access>notification access. Make sure light manager is checked. (It asks you to set that up right when you first open light manager)
After that just it should start working. Go into light manager and start setting up your colors and stuff. You can test each notification you set up (just have to make sure to turn off your screen while the test is going on)

I just re-installed it and got the notification message, now it's working fine. I don't know how I missed it the first time through. Thanks!
I just gave this a go but ambient display kept coming on every few seconds for no reason.

Yup. I installed the free light manager to test and as soon as I turned the screen off ambient display kept turning on every few seconds.

This is a bug the developer is aware of. It only applies to "Alternating Mode". I switched back to normal and it stopped.

Oh ok awesome. I didn't try that mode but will give it another try with that mode enabled.
I also had some issues with LF. My gmail functioned as it should, but I could not use sms or other apps. The developer told me how he got things to function properly. I have had no issues sense. Here is what you need to do. Just change out the app you want for notifications.
I'd recommend the following.
1. remove the contact specific notification you have set up and the standard text message notification.
2. get a text message from the contact you want specific notifications for and don't yet read it.
3. go into lightflow, notification settings and press "+" and select from all installed apps and select messenger.
4. Press "+" again and select from an outstanding notification and select the unread text message and select it and click add.
5. Find this notification and click on it (then press the pencil icon in the title to give it a meaningful name)
6. Enable the "notification person matches..." switch
7. Finally in notification settings click on the 3 lines with an arrow button at the top and drag the contact specific notification above the default messenger notification.
This is the setup I use on my 5x and 6p and pixel. It also allows you to do similar for pretty much any app or for example switch when a particular word is in a notification so it's quite customisable.
Cheers

This isn't about lightflow. This is about light manager.
lol sorry!!!
When a website changes the stock address bar to anything other than white, I am unable to swipe to scroll to the next tab.
For instance, androidpolice.com changes the address bar to blue and I am unable to swipe to another tab, left or right.
Anyone else experiencing the same or willing to try to replicate?
I'm seeing the same issues. I did reach out to Essential support but haven't heard from them yet.
Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
I had this problem but once I used the whitelist editor app it went away. I had to also disable my navbar in chrome but I was able to pull down to switch tabs on every website after that. If you need the navbar back just swipe up from the bottom.
I've noticed something similar with my Facebook app. When you try to pull up on the bar at the bottom of the app it immediately snaps back and will not allow you to access anything within it.
I found that Chrome Beta has no issues with scrolling, as colored address bars does not extend into the status bar as they do in Chrome.
What's weird is that I tried this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/es...ured-how-to-make-camera-flush-status-t3682107 and it fixed the chrome issue
My phone is now updated to One UI 2, Android 10. I was expecting this to result in eg gmail app being in dark mode, but it is not. I've checked for the themes option in Gmail settings but it doesn't exist.
I also tried force Dark mode in dev options but this did not sort it. Also this did not seem to force whatsapp into a dark mode.
Have you tried a complete system cache clean up from recovery?
It is worth trying.

Tried this. Now have Gmail in dark mode (as set in display settings) Thanks for the tip [emoji1531]
WhatsApp still not in dark mode when force dark mode is enabled.
Most of my apps went dark except for Google one. Even my bank app did which i thought wouldn't because of the security factors.
But its not perfect Facebook and Mesenger seem to go dark but you get inverted colours on most of it, if i want to use them i have to turn off force dark mode.
I would like Google to bring back Dark cards for Google Feed and assistant.
Use #hex if you want to customize Some backgrounds like gmail, maps, Assistant ect.
Hey all,
I have downloaded Snapchat on my Mi 10 Ultra. I am facing an issue with the friends list that I have. Everything in the app works great. But, when I try to send a photo or a video, the next page for selecting the names of people I want to send it to is in white and the names are in white too!! When I check any name it gets changed to blue and I could see who I selected. But, before that I couldn't see anything.
Side Note: I have enabled Dark Mode. Because, I do not like a bright phone. I am keeping this all the time. But, is it the thing that is causing the issue? How will I mitigate it?
Note: I have just tried changing to Light mode instead of Dark and all the names appeared without an issue. So, how do I get Snapchat to show names in other color other than Light grey and white in Dark mode so I can see them.
The problem is, that functionality of some apps gets broken when MIUI goes into Dark mode - it's more than a system theme, it forces dark mode onto apps as well.
For this reason, there's an option under Settings -> Display -> Dark mode -> (scroll down a bit to see the Advanced section) -> Individual apps.
There, tap the search bar if the app list doesn't come up at first and look for Snapchat, or whatever you need, and toggle dark mode off for this app.
