Hello, everybody,
I have a couple of doubts that for more than I have searched, both in google and forums, I have not been able to find out.
Recently I bought an Isudar Head Unit (this -> https://es.aliexpress.com/item/Android-7-1-1-Two-Din-7-Inch-Car-DVD-Player-For-FORD-Focus-S-MAX/32808228875.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3da263c0xgGxNv) which had installed the MCU with version "MTCE_GS_3.01_3" and I installed the version "MTCE_GS_3.07". On the other hand I had installed the Android compilation "PX30 8.1.0 OPM8.181105.002 eng.htc.20181224.174229".
My question is, which Android update can I install from here https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip%20PX30%20%20Android%208.1 ? I thought I understood that I can install any of them. Is that right?
Can I also install the existing version of Android 9 (https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip%20PX30%20%20Android%209) ?
Thank you very much in advance
In view of that you have a PX30 with MTCE_GS it should be possible to install your stated Android 8 roms for GS.
Android 9 should go too.
All at your own risk!!!

Thank you @le_mi for your reply [emoji1]
May be I'll Will try to install Android 9 but first I want to know how to reinstall the actual version if something goes wrong [emoji6]
On the other hand, recently I read this post of Malaysk:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=79328013
So I understood I could install any PX30 MTCE Android 8.1 rom.
Can you confirm this? [emoji28]

Sure i think too you can install every rom but maybe there are different options in the setting of each rom. There only helps try out but you can flash back if there are some faults.
Wich Android 9 you want install? Stock or custom?

Well, in principle, I'm going to try this one (https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip PX30 Android 9/GS) that matches my MCU version, and I think is a Stock one.

I'm very lazy and I haven't tried to root the unit yet
but if I could flash a newer 8.1 stock rom, although from a diferent manufacturer (my unit is GS, and I flash a HXD one)
So I have been able to verify that although the MCU always has to be from the same manufacturer, the Android seems not to be necessary.

I just had to rename the file to update.zip on the HA file after I extracted, in case anyone else asks. I also have to figure out how to root mine as well, so if anyone has info for that I'd be interested....
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I found a possible root method. I would have to write the code into the update.zip and repack it then flash again. Even if that does gain root access, that still doesn't solve a custom recovery so I can flash zip files like magisk and Xposed.

One question, what was the original name of the file? Because I'm pretty sure isn't a name problem, because the recovery recognoice it well and try to flash it. But the problem is that the recovery can't open the file, so, as I said before, I think that your file is corrupted

Hi,
Did you manage to get Android 9 working on your PX30 unit? I have tried several times with different versions (GS, HA, LM, etc) but keep on getting the same error like you did.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi all,
None of these are my mod's and I have done nothing to contribute to them either, i just got pointed in the right direction and thought i'd share for those of you who don't know how to activate it.
To get CRT animation's and many more different tweaks. (But CRT mostly cos i love it )
Install this..
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Then this.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/ind.fem.black.xposed.mods
Activate them both and then go to xblast / visual tweaks and alter CRT to horizontal, save and reboot.
CRT should be on
Many thanks to the creators of Xposed, this is superb and I've overlooked Xposed for the most part in the past, but man I will be using this little lot for good.
Great tip buddy. Thank you :good:

Ah ok, yea i've not tried that yet but i'm still digging, I only really wanted the CRT animation cos i feel like my phone isn't quite complete without it ? If that makes any sense, looking forward to some good theming coming out too.
I've been using the 4.4 launcher and have been getting into the "Ok Google" activation which is superb might i add, the apk's are listed in this section of the forum, check them out.
To get the launcher to work you have to install both the search panel and the launcher, otherwise it won't show up.

Just change it to right.
I'm going to bring up both variants to N. Now I need help from you all. Below are the things I need from you all. Note root is not required
1.) Download terminal emulator
2.) Grab your bootloader name (yes this wasn't set on L but it's set on M.)
getprop ro.bootloader
3.) Attach your stock build.prop
adb pull /system/build.prop
If you see your bootloader name is already posted please refrain from sharing it again.

I think the point he was making is that there are 2 root methods (2 different programs, if you like):
1 is called KingRoot and doesn't work
The other is called KingOroot, and this is the one that has shown to work on these units.
He wasn't pointing out your spelling mistake!
Jeah i know, but i tried Kingoroot and it does not work. I havent tried KingRoot yet.
Try this

It is for other rockchip chipset...but under nougat as well

You must install and then run Kingoroot. At 90%, it usually hangs, then simply terminate and re-run. It takes a while to get the root done.

I'm almost at the end of my workday, I'll test it directly and report here.
@ikerg
Both apps doesnt work.
Toast message after 10 seks appear: "Root fail"
But thx for help.
I read about a method to enter the stock recovery via an update.zip.
So you are able to flash supersu.zip through stock recovery.
Anyone got an update.zip which is compatible with my device?

I think the only method to root could be by means of adb from computer and inject the supersu

In factory settings type 'adbon' and then 'adbwf' and that enables adb wifi.
That gets me into the unit and I've then pushed su, and apk to data/local/tmp but I'm too thick to go further!
Pushing the intel sofia adbwifi package kills my HU completely, lot of hunting to find 7.1.2 20170731 to flash back!
Using 'RK3xxx Firmware Tools by SergioPoverony' allowed me to turn 'ro.secure' to 0 in the boot.img, repack nupdate.img and boot normally.
If I unpack 'system' and straight repack back, the unit will not even come up with the boot logo.
I think we need a pure 'root 7.1.1 - 7.1.2 PX3' thread that remains purely on that topic! There are bits and bobs dotted over XDA and 4RU but nothing concise. There must be a way to get root just so I can disable all the apps I don't use.
adbwf doesn't work for me.

Your welcome. Great idea.
Does anyone have a solution in the meantime for the root problem. I would like to bring TomTom to run on my new HU.
I really need to root my mtcd device, hope somebody finds out how to do it :good:
Well I've got as far as SuperSU just failing to update the binary.... hopefully getting there. But it is through and wifi. I have no idea how to go about it without.

@IProfessor Thank you for the hint to use the HiSuite Proxy SW, it looks really good.
But I have one question.
I searched in the TEAM MT Database for the wanted Firmware. I took the Version SHT-AL09C432B163 (8.0.0.163) (FullOTA-MF).
I get the following files from the filelist: (the links are in this Post, I'm not allowed to make a new entry with external links)
- update.zip
- update_full_SHT-AL09_hw_eu.zip
- update_data_full_public.zip
Can you say me how do I have to insert these three links in the HiSuite Proxy software?
Or where I can find the links I need?
I have to downgrade to version B163 or below.
Devicedata:
Model: SHT-AL09
Build-Number 9.10.0334 (C342E3R1P3)

I can confirm you that downgrade is possible, I've tried with my Mate 10 Pro and the update appeared. But I don't know how to use the other two packages in the build, I think it's better to don't go forward because if we don't understand exactly what HiSuite wants we could brick the device.
Little hint: if HiSuite still doesn't see any upgrade check Rollback Os or Developer Os on HiSuite proxy and when HiSuite shows there are no update click switch to another version

Apparently roll back roms are consist of two files only, CUST And Preload ex:
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3501/g1699/v339009/f1/full/filelist.xml ( Named as BLA-L29-CUST 9.0.0.2(C185) )
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3501/g1699/v308870/f1/full/filelist.xml
( I've got those from official requests of HiSuite )
If you can find such files for your phone I guess then you just have to put them in the app and keep url of Base rom empty.
if no then you could go by the other way, System Recovery
Pick a full rom, CUST and prelaod of it, boot into fastboot and let it do the job ( notice that I guess you'll lose your internal data in this process )
I've tried finding rom for your phone, that's 8.0, unfortunately I couldn't find a 8.0 CUST neither 8.0 Preload for any region of your phone...
Though I found a full package for your phone, versioned as 8.0, you might try that alone in reovery mode it will either work or bug it up, wanna risk for the sake of science? :silly:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1943/g1719/v200086/f1/full/changelog.xml
( Though as it's one filelist that includes several zip packages, I guess hisuite gonna bring all of those and make it work out for them )

Yes if it's softbricked (fastboot works) you'll be able to recover it as I did.
If you want to update there's no way for ALP-L09 because Huawei didn't release emui 10 firmwares

It's simple, follow this steps:
1. Install latest version of HiSuite and don't run it
2. Open HiSuite-Proxy as administrator and click on httpcomponent.dll, it will search for httpcomponent.dll located usually in C:/Program Files(x86)/HiSuite and let the tool patch it.
3. Set HiSuite to use a proxy and use ip 127.0.0.1 and port 7777 as HiSuite-Proxy says
4. Find your BASE, CUST, and PRELOAD packages on FirmwareFinder, they are needed to perform a system recovery and then insert their links into their respective textboxes in HiSuite-Proxy;
5. Open C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Local/HiSuite/UpdateDogDev/HiSuiteConfig.xml and add an entry for your phone model if there isn't
5. Then you can follow these steps https://github.com/ProfessorJTJ/HISuite-Proxy/wiki/System-Recovery-Rom-Instruction-(-Soft-Bricked-)

If you want to restore it because it's softbricked you 'll need these three zips. If you write here your model cust, for example (ALP-L09C432) I'll post here the links you have to use. Don't try to use another cust version

Is that Team MT's multitool? Why are you using it?
Do you have hisuite installed? Because hisuite installs the necessary drivers with itself
