Ive been at this almost 12 hours and i dont know what to do.
Guides say to use LGUP Tool from LG to install the .KDZ file, but LGUP doesnt say my device is connected. Even though it shows in the storage of my computer. Guides said to use UPPERCUT.exe to fix the problem, but it didnt do anything and it still did not detect my device after i ran uppercut, and then LGUP again. And i dont know of any other way of installing the OS besides using LGUP.
I have come to this problem of trying to reinstall my OS because i dont have an OS on my android phone anymore. I accidentally removed it when i was in TWRP trying to fix a problem i was having with Google Play, which would crash, and i couldnt complete the factory reset. So i was trying to repair files, clear caches, and wipe anything i could to just let me factory reset, and i accidentally deleted my entire operating system and everything that was on my phone. I dont have any folders in the storage window in my computer. It just says my phones name, and i click on it, and nothing is inside. I just want to reinstall the OS so i can start from scratch again. If anyone can please help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I dont really know what to do.
Im on day two now, and i still have no been able to fix my issue. I have tried here, reddit r/AndroidQuestions/, and tried their Discord. I havent gotten one single person who has tried to help me out. And im not sure what else to try. Ive tried everything i know of to try and fix LGUP. No LG program will recognize my device. I had downloaded LGUP, LGFlashTool, LG Bridge and none of them say my device is connected. Forums say to download the Common DLL file and paste it into the LGUP and UPPERCUT folder, and then run UPPERCUT.exe. I have done so. I have run LGUP, it didnt work, then made sure the process was ended, then executed UPPERCUT.exe, and they still would not find my device. After literally 24 hours of actual time spent on this (excluding hours spent sleeping) i honestly just do not know what else to do.
Please help.
I was able to find this page:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/rom-fw-us99820e-twrp-zip-t3868415
I just downloaded the most recent file, put it into my TWRP folder on my computer. Booted into TWRP and installed the compressed Zip file and i was good to go.
I didnt know that there was Zip files for the ROM until a few short hours about and thats what i did and it fixed my problem.

You never want to user Uppercut with LG V30 on Oreo or later. You need Dev Patched LGUP.
Why are you asking here? If you have bootloader unlock and root and TWRP, then you followed the WTF instructions in the V30 thread. Why are you not asking there? A V30S is still a v30. That's why this forum is dead. Because all V30S users are in the V30 forum.

OK, you finally went to the V30 forum. Because that's what you have -- one of the V30 (Joan) variants. All the V30/V30+/V30S all run the same firmware.
We've told people this over and over....
V30S is just another JOAN "V30"

hopefully this will help out some people and the developers to make, fix, restore a not so popular phone. I did a total firmware dump and have uploaded to my 4shared folder. If anyone is interested or can tell me how to upload it here for developing i will be more than happy to share with those in need. I also have a spare phone that i would be willing to test anything made from the firmware dump i created.

Some time after rooting my Optimus Zone 3 VS425PP, I got locked into a boot loop. There are no custom ROM's, neither recovery nor OS. It's not bricked. Yet, anyway. The loading screen functions, then a little window that says "OPTIMIZING APPS 1 OF 5, PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE BATTERY..." appears. I've seen this before, but now, upon reaching "APP 5 OF 5," it reboots and repeats. I've tried several factory resets via the LG RECOVERY (MODIFIED,) as well as safe mode to no avail. Anyone? Anything? Help? The only recourse I can think of would be to re-flash the stock ROM, which I cannot find. Anywhere. Thanks, guys.
i tried contacting judthro for the same file; no luck

Unfortunately, I don't think this file is actually out there. I have REALLY been looking, even contacted the LG Development team. The LG Support Tool, etc. are not going to help you yet as they do not have the firmware on their servers yet. That's why the LG Support Tool will freeze when trying to do an Update Recovery on this phone. -- And I've tried them all: LG Mobile Support Tool, LG PC Suite, Verizon VS425PP Update Tool (from the mounted drive on the phone), LG Flash Tool 2014 to force different KDZ files. All provide nothing. All dead ends. The Optimus won't grab a COM unless it is the right signed firmware for the phone. You'll just sit there in Download Mode or in Debug mode forever with no result. We have to wait for the first update from LG from version VS425PP1 to whatever comes next so they have something to stick on their server. But...if you find something before then, please let me know! The update will eventually be released to the public. It'll probably just take a year or so.
Good thing is Wal-Mart sells these for under $12 (yes, that's right). I picked up seven of these quad-core bad boys at that deal. Just bugs the hell out of me I can't fix the one I over rooted.
this *might* be promising...

hopefully the op will chime in for insight. The 999MB isn't much good. It appears to be a RAR dump of all the partitions, perhaps made from a lglaf.py script while in download. Nevertheless, i havent found any way yet to push the firmware dump onto the phone.
I've had no luck, either.

Meanwhile, as my LG cycles endlessly through my really cool "Jolly Roger" boot animation, I stumbled across a Kyocera Hydro Wave at Walmart for $20. I snapped it up to replace the LG Optimus Zone 3. I had big plans to root it, too., but I should've researched it first. The specs are great... but one check on Cyanogen's website probably would've saved me some trouble. Not one Kyocera device is listed there. XDA thread also throws red flags-no one can get root to stick. Well, I at least learned a lesson. Next time, I plan to purposefully buy a phone that can be rooted, has been rooted, has instructions online to do so, AND has at least one custom ROM available! No wonder this thing was $20! Keep us all posted if you stumble across a bootloop fix of some kind, and I'll do the same.
here is stock recovery for this device https://www.dropbox.com/home/Apps/Flashify/VS425PP/recovery
matt4787!
Either I am unable to open that link from an Android device OR the link given is to an unshared folder? It just asks me to log in and then says 'that folder does not exist in your DropBox...' PLEASE check out the SHARE link from within your DropBox and maybe share a new folder (and drop the stock ROM in there, along with what you might've used to flash it maybe?) We'd be very grateful!

To all who have a bricked, phone this phone has an update. Download the LG software assistant and put assistant in repair mode then boot phone normally and wait a bit. Run the repair assistant and let it run. Hopefully if everything runs well as it did me. Mine is restored and running.
Just ordered one. Is there root for this phone? Unlocked bootloader or forgetaboutit?
I rooted this phone and then tried to de-bloat, but I must have deleted too much. Now when I boot all I get is "Security Error - Authentication Fail #9"
I can get to Download mode, but none of the recovery programs recognize the phone. I installed the drivers, but still nothing. Is there anything I can do?

was your phone in a "security error" loop? for some reason the software assistant won't recognize my phone. it'll identify a plugged in phone when I connect it in download mode, but the device model never shows up

this one is troubling. hmm you got the stock rom from lg? if so then try downloading the drivers from verizon.
Any updates on recoveries? I hate being scared of tweaking due to not having a backup .-. Anyone find something? Plz lemme know, thx! Btw kingo root 4.5 seems to have root for this phone but super sume seems to brick it. Just a heads up eace:
So following the instructions here I rooted my LG Tribute 5 when I got it with Kingroot. And everything was fine for months. Until System Updates started to pop up regularly but I could never get them to install(they would error out). After a quick search I learned the updates won't install cuz the device was rooted. And a quick unroot would get the install to work.
I just unrooted through the kingroot app and started the updated. Before, when I tried the update it would error out about a quarter of the way through. This time the bar made it all the way to the end and then error'd out. I didn't think much of it. So since the device was stuck I took my battery out and back in. The device went through the boot process, then a No Command error popped up. Never saw that before.
So I tinkered with it a bit and kept getting the error. So I got into the Recovery Menu to do a full wipe and factory reset. I did that, but the No Command still popped up.
I know I can put a custom rom file on my external sd card and install that through recovery, right? The thing is I would like to install Slimrom, but there are a ton of downloads on the sites download page. So I'm asking for a little help on directions on a slimrom that will work on the LG Tribute 5.
And if there isn't a custom rom that works with a tribute 5,can I get a recommendation of one a custom rom that does? I'm into lightweight and minimalistic. By the way, I didn't have a custom rom on my phone, just had it rooted.
Thank you so much in advance for any and all help
No-one has any advice for me?
A little more info, the phone was on Android 5.1.1 before it started erroring out.

Do you have a custom recovery as well? If it is only the stock recovery, which blocks most zips, your very option may be to use LG UP and the stock dz file and return the device to stock. The process to update can be done from that point.
I'm pretty sure I only have the stock recovery. I knew i should have installed TWRP...
So just search for LG UP and the stock firmware and they should be easily accessible?
Thanks for the reply xanscorp.
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0KV4b0_G1PQZW95ZmloejU5dFk
The LG UP program and .dz file are in there.
That's awesome! Thank you very much for linking the files for me.
I'm gonna do this in a couple hours when I get home and I'll let you know how it went.
Much appreciated xanscorp
One last stupid question... Just the LG Up and.dz files are the only two I need right?
I'm guessing so, but just wanna be sure.
Yes. It'll put you back to stock.
Unfortunately I haven't yet found how to get the ZV5 firmware fully rooted (i.e. a custom recovery) but it can be partially rooted with KingRoot. (http://www.kingroot.net/wap)
I just finally got around to giving this a shot. Sheesh....
Anyways I downloaded the files, put them on my external SD card, popped my SD card into my phone, then booted my phone to recovery. I went to install update from SD, and the phone didn't find any files. Hmmm....
I'm definitely doing something wrong. The .msi file looks like an executable. So I hopped onto Windows to install it. It installed, but when I run the program it can't find my phone when I plug it in.
I'm about to just give up, trash this thing, switch to a different provider and get another new phone. This time I won't mess with Kingroot. I'm pretty positive that's the app that screwed things up. I've had three different phones, rooted all three through different methods, and never had a problem.
Things files are to restore from a pc using LG Up for Windows... that's why it's a Microsoft Installer (.msi) file.
Yeah I figured that. But when I plug my phone into the computer my phone isn't recognized. I'm assuming because it boots straight to a No Command screen.
So since the computer doesn't recognize it neither does LG Up. Any trick to get around this?
Still haven't gotten this phone back to working. This is the first time I've really been stumped after a brick.
Please...anymore help?

You find annything cause my same phone did the same thing
Sure haven't bud.
I've tried the help in the thread with no success
I just got a Flex 2 for cheap. Model H955
First thing I did was update from 5.0.1 to 6.0.1, with LGUP, using a KDZ.
It went well, phone seemed OK. Then I noticed I had some leftover contact from the previous user. I decided to re-flash the same KDZ, using this time the refurbish option, since it seemed to be the cleanest method.
Bad idea. It seems the flash stop at 27% on LGUP, and 18% showing on the phone screen. It goes pretty smoothly up to that point, then nothing seems to happen anymore. As if it was still updating normally, and this step is just a bit long. Except after 45min, nothing had moved.
I stoped (just by exiting LGUP) and restarted. Once again, no problem. Phone detected, no error. But nothing happens after 27%. LGUP is still running, still showing the time elapsed increasing.
I decided to try another KDZ, and that's when I realised you're supposed to use TOT file to refurbish, and not a KDZ ! Except that if you select a KDZ file on update mode, then switch to refurbish, the process start without any warning.
So, now I'd need a TOT file. French or european. And I can't seem to find any ...
Edit : as I keep googling this, I realise that there might not be any TOT file for h955, and I might have bricked my phone.
****.
Please someone tell me there's something to be done ... I didn't even root or did anything special, I just wanted to restore the stock system. What kind of software let starts the process without any warning when the wrong type of file is selected. That's just stupid !
Edit : It seems h955 TOT files just don't exist. My best bet might be to flash h950 tot files, then update with h955 KDZ and hope for the best, though logically it should not work. But since right now I can't even turn the phone off ...
Actually you can get a tot file from kdz. Just download this tool from here then extract the kdz file with it, You will get DLL file and a DZ file, Rename the extention DZ to tot, That's it. Happy flashing...

Thanks a lot !!
As I kept looking into my half-bricked phone, I wondered if this was really the solution. Reading every messages in threads from this forum, I realised that refurbishing with a KDZ should have worked after all !
It might be that my problem is with driver installation after all. My phone is already stuck in DL mode. And when I plug it in after installing the drivers (no matter wich one), it cannot finish the installation for the phone. Error 10 : device could not be started.
I'm wondering if it's necessary to install the driver with a functionning phone before flashing ...
Nonetheless, this post that I had not found might be incredibly heplfull ! I will try it.
If anyone else is willing ot help me, for memory the situation is as follow.
H955 phone, only boot in download mode.
Refurbish using LGUP stops while flashing "system". Exact percentage vary depending on the KDZ I use, but it's always while doing system. There is no error, but the phone screen stops moving, and nothing more happens.
Flash tool 2014 crash while trying to get phone informations.
Drivers for COM port and USB device can be installed fine, but the phone in itself cannot finish the installation due to "code 10, device did not start"
I'm not sure what to do now, so any help is welcome !
And nope, doesn't work :/
"Unsupported KDZ file format"
Aaaand phone is now OK.
In the end, after trying 3 different drivers and flahing tools, what worked was ... the official one.
Went to LG website, downloaded official driver lg support tool. Told LG support tool to repair. It downloaded it's own image, and flashed it alright.
Now running on clean 6.0.1 install, can stop messing with the phone and actually use it.
Hey everyone!
So, just upgraded from my Note Edge to a Stylo 3. I'm going through my usual ritual of boot, root, remove useless apps, Xprivacy, migrate data, move SIM card, a process that's getting progressively more annoying but I do want to thank everyone who makes the tools used to make this happen.
Anyway, I got to a point where I must've frozen an app I shouldn't have or something; ironically Jrummy's App Manager wouldn't work thereafter...nor would 'Messages' or a few others. I disabled Xprivacy, used Titanium Backup to defrost every app I'd frozen, disabled AFWall+...and still, things weren't happy. "Okay, let's just factory reset it and start over!", I said to myself. And, I did so. Now, one of the apps I froze was "EULA"...which is a requirement for the initial phone setup, thus preventing me from completing the initial setup wizard. "Okay then, let's just wipe and reload". I found the T-Mobile KDZ file from one of the dozen sites I've been to in my quest, and the LG Flash Tool. It wasn't until I tried using LGFT that I gained a true appreciation for Samsung's Odin, because the 2014 version doesn't seem to want to talk to my phone, giving me the "can't find server" error, and unlike the instructions I was following, the screen didn't indicate that the file was actually moving. The 2015 and 2016 versions of the tool both seem to want a DLL file, which is nowhere to be found.
Now, the saving grace is that I do still have access to TWRP, so if there's some variant of "chmod 777 -R" I can run on a directory somewhere to make sure EULA.apk and its friends are all defrosted, and that's possible from TWRP, then I'd super appreciate a tutorial on how to do that. Alternatively, if someone knows how to get LG Flash Tool to actually shuffle the bits out the USB port, I'm open to that as well.
Thanks for reading. I appreciate your consideration and assistance.

[SOLVED]
Yep! I managed to poke and prod a bit more, and solved my issue. For the other folks around these parts, the key is this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295
I used Uppercut, as directed, in 'Upgrade' mode. I used the KDZ file downloaded from here:
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-tp450tn-firmwares/
I opted for TP45010c_00_0821.kdz, because I didn't want to run the risk of upgrading the bootloader and preventing myself from rooting.
Once I used Uppercut, it wiped everything, and I was able to restart the process again.
I hope it helps someone!

First thing always when you get a custom recovery is to make a backup right away that way if things get messy you can recover, most phones and even this phone a guy has a flashable zip for TWRP, Uppercut works too but it's very easy to mess things up and you think it's not working because you did something wrong but as the guy above mentioned uppercut is what you will use, if that does not work for what ever reason then you have something else going on, driver's or something. If you can boot into the phone at all, then plug it in and tell it to reboot to bootloader that way you can flash it using uppercut, if you have access to twrp you can try that zip file
After unsuccessfully attempting to root my device, I was left with an unbootable phone.
I have tried everything to get my phone back working, with no success and I am losing hope.
I've used both LGUP (with 4 different firmwares, all NAO_US) and LG Bridge, all reporting success at the end, however my phone still does not get past the initial boot screen.
If I reboot it, it will show "Erasing.." and reboot right back to the LG boot screen, and proceed no further than that.
The only thing I can think of is because my phone is OPEN_US, and won't boot using NAO_US.
NAO_US is the only KDZ file that will work with my phone, every other KDZ I've tried just throws an error like "error (OPEN_US->AMZ_US).
I have turned Google inside out, as well as almost every LG firmware website, and have downloaded at least 40GB worth of KDZ files, but I cannot find
OPEN_US KDZ anywhere. I'm not sure if flashing OPEN_US will even work (though, why wouldn't it?), so I may be searching for something that is useless to me.
My LG G8 is Factory Unlocked, purchased from Best Buy - and it seems like nobody else on the planet has this variant. If someone has an OPEN_US KDZ file, I would be extremely
greatful if you could please link it to me. Otherwise, my LG G8 is now a glorified paperweight.
UPDATE:
Fixed!
I was able to locate an OPEN_US KDZ and flash my phone with it. Turned out I had overwritten the wrong partition in QIFL when trying to unlock the bootloader. I had to extract the firmware and manually reflash this file, but afterwards, my phone was successfully booting.
