Is your bootloader unlocked, it could be as you said it's giving you an error, if yes then download miui flash application on your windows, then go to fastboot by switching off your phone then turning on by holding volume down and power button then simply connect your phone to system and then the app on pc will scan the mi device there is an option for flashing twrp, voila! You're done

[Q] [SOLVED] Flashing recovery.img without fastboot?

Hi all!
My power button is stuck as pressed constantly, and cannot be unstuck.
So there is no way to flash recovery image under fastboot;
nor can I flash CWM recovery TOUCH using ROM Manager, due to network reason that cannot be solved from my aspect;
Flashify said "cannot find recovery block", thus unable to flash by it;
GooManager seems only able to flash TWRP that I decide not to use at present.
So what I want to ask is, is there a way, for our Nexus S, to flash recovery by an Android terminal command? Thanks in advance!

A great lot of thanks! This should be it!
[EDIT]
Tried it, seem to have no use... it said it successfully flashed image, but the recovery is still the old one (TWRP) instead of the one I chose to flash (CWM Touch)

[Q] Black screen. Please Help.

Hi guys I rooted my Z3 and installed TWRP so i could install a custom rom. So I downloaded the ROM, booted to TWRP, wiped everything, then installed the ROM. It said everything was successful so I rebooted my phone. Now there is a black screen. When I hold the power button, the phone vibrates for a second but nothing happens. When I plug my phone in, there is a red flashing light. What do I do?? Please help me.

That has a custom kernel so you need to unlock the bootloader to flash it.
To repair it you can restore the backup you must have taken in recovery before flashing the rom
or
Flash a stock FTF in flashtool from flashtool.net
or
Force a software repair using PCCompanion.

The custom kernel should have recovery in it (Probably) so you can try entering by pressing the volume up or down button when you reboot the phone.
EDIT, my mistake, the kernel is not booting.
Flash a stock FTF ending in .93, root, install recovery and restore the backup
or
Force a software repair using PCCompanion, downgrade, root, install recovery, restore backup

OK im in flashtool but when i plug my phone in to flash, it asks for drivers, but I have all the drivers installed. What should I do? http://gyazo.com/29bbe3a0b82d333acc8efe03be4275c5
goto C:\flashtool\drivers
run drivers.exe
choose Z3, fastboot and flashmode drivers
restart PC and try again.
Also, it would help if you show the whole log from flashtool.....

Custom recovery for xperia L

Hi , I have rooted my xperia L and unlocked its bootloader. However when I tried to install a custom recovery, it keeps failing. I have tried both cwm and twrp. For cwm there is no official support so I tried using a custom but it couldn't read it .
For twrp , even though the device shows up in the twrp app , its unable to flash the recovery. it says :
flashing recovery was unsuccessful. Either you already have this recovery installed or another error has occurred. Would you like to attempt rebooting now?
My goal is to install a custom rom on my phone. Can anyone please tell me how to move formward from here ?
Thanks
You must be on the latest stock firmware.
I want you to go to this link " http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/help/how-to-recover-xperia-l-t3129724/page5 " .
And to replay number #46 and download the attached file.
Extract the the file in your computer and open the cmd in the folder by pressing shift+LMB and write the code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
important:connect your phone to the computer in fastboot before pressing Enter, by holding the vol+ and connect it.
Now you can press entre you have now CWM recovery .
Boot to recovery and flash the rom you want.
Note: this recovery is for installing ROMs so if you want to use it with stock ROM so don't use it because it will stop the WiFi .
So just install it and directly install the ROM to have the wifi worked.
Don't forget to hit thanks
do I still have to use cwm rom manager? Because I tried that and it says it can't access the server.
So do I go directly to recovery by using adb reboot recovery ?
No there's no need.
After you done flashing your phone reboot it ,it will show you a led on Sony logo ,when you see this led keep pressing down button until it reboots to recovery .
I forgat to tell you that your phone must be powered of when fastboot
yeah no problem , I remembered to do that.. Got it. Thanks .
Quick question after flashing the rom , should I wipe the cache and delvvik AGAIN before flashing gapps ?
It depends on the ROM .
For example: CM 12 you mustn't flash gapps after flashing The rom, you must reboot to the ROM and then install a new recovery and then install the gapps.
In general I suggest to make factory reset before and after installing a ROM.

No Volume Buttons. Is flashing custom recovery from 12s impossible?

Hey Guys,
I want to flash twrp to my OnePlus One, but CyanogenOS12S won't let me without a hardware boot into recovery mode. My OnePlus' volume buttons do not work, thus i cannot do a hardware boot to recovery mode. When i boot into cyanogenOS and try a software reboot into recovery mode it defaults to Cyanogen's stock recovery. (And yes I have unchecked "update Cyanogen recovery" in developer options)
Is there any way for me to flash and access a custom recovery? I very much hope there is as I would like to have this phone rooted to perform nandroid backups and to attemot to fix the low mic volume issue when im not on speakerphone.
Appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Mrcalebw
easiest way is going to be fastboot flash a new recovery like twrp using fastboot. Just google. As of now you have stock cm recovery installed
Cannot leave the fastboot screen

Hey!
Thanks for the reply and help. I tried to do this, but once I
fastboot falsh recovery recovery.img' which is successful
then 'flashboot boot recovery.img' The fastboot screen lights up brighter and my oneplus disconnects from adb and my computer and i have to do a hard power off by holding the powerbutton.
And I'm back where i started without a custom recovery to boot into.

If your phone is rooted. I guess it would be. Then try this steps to reboot it to recovery
No need of pc.
1. Download TWRP manager from the play store
2. Open the app
3. Open menu in the app by touching the left top corner of the app.
4. Touch on the reboot option and then
5. Touch on the reboot to recovery and touch yes.

Hi,
Thanks for your help. The trouble is that i do not currently have root on my phone.
If its possible to get root, without having to boot into custom recovery that would be fantastic.
I'm beginning to feel like this might be a lost cause.
I'd love any suggestions though!
Is the bootloader of your OPO unlocked??

And how do i flash supersu zip from fastboot? Without having to temporarily boot into a custom recovery?
As far as I was aware you cant flash supersu unless you have a custom recovery installed, which i cannot install (original post issue)
If theres a command I'd be very grateful!

I have tried a couple of toolboxes. The trick there is that adb commands only send once the phone has booted and is on debugging mode. When full boot happens, the cyanogen stock recovery overwrites the custom recovery.

moto g stuck in bootloop! rooted! unlocked bootloader! but usb debugging disabled!

the title would sum it up guys!. its a falcon! i have twrp installed, but even when i go to recovery it reboot before i can do anything! help please guys! when i go into fastboot mode (i think its called fastboot, idk i am a noob, by pressing power and volume down key) , all options are visible and its stable, i.e it does not reboot! however if i go to recovery, it starts rebooting! usb debugging is disabled! idk what to do! is there any way i can enable usb debugging via fastboot? help please!

In case of a bootloop, I suggest you download a new rom and install it via twrp's file manager, using a pendrive/otg pendrive. Else, your can flash the stock motorola firmware using fastboot. that method always works in case of softbrick.
Tried to reflash twrp?

Hey, thank you the problem was solved but then I installed CyanogenMod 13.0 on my moto g. After a day of use the phone automatically stopped working and i restarted it. Didnt display screen after CyanogenMod animation. I booted into TWRP recovery, was backing up data into a usb otg when the backup failed and the phone rebooted itself. Now it doesnt even display the CyanogenMod startup animation. I tried to enter twrp recovery again. It shows the main blue screen with twrp written on it but doesnt proceed further instead it restarts. I tried flashing twrp recovery again but the same problem persists. please help me out
Try flashing stock ROM, then again TWRP and CM13 via TWRP. I suggest this version of TWRP (NOTHEME version!).
