Actually I never use any MIUI rom. But read many feedback about MIUI in XDA. I always like to use any TW based rom in any samsung device. Now I want to flash a full S8 port rom with stabilty,and good battery backup. And my searching for the same is going on.

BTW, what about the battery life of MIUI ?
I'm happy flash and replace roms. This current rom (may be long with this because it is as expected)
Rom sac23 port s8. Kernel moro 1.6.2 with some tweaks. I hope (and indeed already) can live longer battery for work, browsing, less video. I'm not intense to games and music. And wow, battery life is really amazing

I`ve followed this rom. Really good feedback from users. I`m waiting for this rom with RC. I love customizations .
BTW, I`m using Sperman Rom (V.2.5.0) with superstock kernel right now. Excellent performances with good battery life. Using this one with S8 apps and SonyMusic_with_SSE&ViperAudio sound mod. Good. :good:
I'm on khongloi s8 ported rom v2 + viper with Dolby Atmos, YouTube with no ads and background playback + stock s8 theme . Battery life is great..almost 6 h sot...with WiFi on , GPS, + 2 hr of playing games and mobile data on.

Yap mate. Stock kernel always best for battery. As an user I can share that SuperStock kernel also good for battery.

Sorry mate. We`re sharing for International variant of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I don`t have verizon variant.

8. Moded pixel2 launcher - obivously pixel launcher with some more customization
9. Redmi note 4 mic fix - for most of the Oreo ROMs there is a slight audio disortation while recording videos this can help to work flawlessly
10.viper4android - unleash the best sound mod settings for your phone speaker, headset, Bluetooth headset with many controls
11.youtube vanced - same as YouTube but without ads and we got background playback ...by install this module this app installed on your phone systemlesly.

1st you have to disable the YouTube app before installing YouTube vanced if it is done correctly and also problem persists ...then
I don't know what's the problem......
I suggest you to ask this in their module thread link .
If there is no solution.
Reinstall your ROM along with official gapps (8.1) not the unofficial one ....

I've been developing for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for quite a while doing the DTUX CORP ROM, and now that my device's hardware gave up i ordered a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Chinese Ed to continue with the fun of making roms and kernels.
I don't have previous MIUI past experience so i'm not aware of the good and the bad it brings, i've checked some youtube videos but is up to YOU to guide me on what should be added in order to improve the experience.
The rom will be MIUI based, debloated the maximun possible without cutting any functionality and with new mods added.

No, there is no third one. Indian == Global and they both will have same rom but China has different rom. There are some users reporting problems on RN5 China when using Global Rom like camera fc etc.. That's why I asked

Got it, the camera is different on the Chinese variant which is the logical reason for the fc's. So far I'm leaning towards working with the Global if i don't get issues myself.
It should not be much different, im downloading both bases and do an in-depth compare, but the base that gets more updates and mods would probably be the one to follow

1- IN MIUI , we cant hide media in gallery with turning on MI Cloud Sync. It will be really helpfull if we can disable this check.
2.. Instead it ll be good if we can remove all mi account related stuff from phone.
3. Bundled notifications (I think its already in oreo rom )

You can check a developer Named "Xpirt" who makes stock Lg Roms. one thing i really liked in his roms that he inculde a app in his roms which include many tweaks like customising buttons , status bar , changing nav bar hieght , etc .
As of now my device is locked due that 86006 error otherwise i can be tester for your roms , In fact it ll be really helpful if we can find any unofficial BL unlock method
1.If possible take China rom as base.I think China ROMs are more polished and optimize.
2.add kcal support.
3.safetynet patch.
4.viper4android
My suggestions for your ROM :
- Option to arrange list of apps alphabetically
- An app drawer like stock Android
- Xposed compatible

Kcal is kernel related, we need kernel source code to be able to add that.

I'm a little against xposed because of my experience with it. Don't get me wrong, xposed is awesome but the more modules you use, the more unstable the system becomes, so i prefer to try to add as much features to the rom in order for us not to miss it too much.
A modded launcher will be in my agenda :good:
Just The Stores
If you can just provide us with The Setting, camera, play store and the mi app store.

If possible add modded theme store (which can be found on all unofficial miui) because applying third party themes give headache now.

i want to say that we cant hide media in gallery without turning on mi cloud sync. I don't understand Mi logic in this case that why anyone wants to upload his personal stuff on cloud. it ll be great if you can disable this check

It is miui based. So, substratum can't rock because
Miui's theme engine is on the stage.
Could you make all themes free?
This is a 3in1 Magisk audio modification that enhances your audio quality and volume.
If you're using RUI please go to this thread. My guide can only be used on custom ROMs.
I'm not going to write a detailed tutorial or bother putting hours of energy into formatting this post unlike my previous guides. Say thanks for this to XDA mods and rules which try to isolate XDA from other development platforms such as 4pda or Telegram. Most of development for this device happens there. This mod is combination of:
Viper4Android, DolbyAtmos and ICEpower. All this was made to be compatible by building it upon the ACDB module and ViPER | Atmos mod. You can read more about them by clicking on their names.
Installation: Flash them as Magisk module from Magisk manager.
Don't forget to disable/freeze your ROM's stock Music FX or Audio FX manager and if you have com.lineageos.settings a.k.a Advanced Settings.
Uninstallation: Just remove from Magisk modules.
Tested: Pixel Experience+ Android 10, Realme Q.

No, you don't need aml module for Redux 0.02 version. ACDB module is a brilliant and simple alternative for that and the module has it inbuilt. I believe it should work on enforcing but I can't know for I always use my ROMs with permissive selinux if not I'll flash Permissiver.zip.
I don't know whether or not should this module work on stock ROM but my guess is that it doesn't. Cos/rui has serious limitations and differences from generic Android vendor/system. This module was made to be compatible with most devices with simple android. It should work on most Android 10 based custom ROMs and probably it works on Android 9 based custom ROMs too.

Rui and cos are heavily modified Android systems. There is a high likeliness that serious modifications won't work on those systems.

It was quite expected. I told in two replies of mine that it is not recommended to install this on cos/rui but since not all of you seem to read the comments I'll add this to the main post with updated modules too.

Yes, I've it now added to main post in Disclaimer paragraph too. I wish I could but I'm no developer and seriously bad at scripting because I've mental problems making it highly unlikely for me to achieve progress in development. RUI is quite new and even for experienced developers it is difficult to make things work on RUI. Maybe with time Dolby and Viper will be available for RUI based ROMs too but I can't promise it.

Viper works on evolution, dolby atmos does not work (there is an icon, and when you click on it nothing happens). But the problem arose that there was a wild over-amplification of the sound in the headphones and it began to wheeze strongly at maximum values. How can I make the sound quieter back? Editing mixer files does not help and removing the mod does too. PS. I am writing through a translator

I'm sorry this is not your mod, so the sound made and the other where the sound is output to 2 speakers, I mixed up

On my pixel experience + I've got Acdb 0.48, Viper FX0.95 and Dolby Atmos RC4 installed. They work fine for me.

I installed this mod and afterwards my Audio was not working anymore. (Just Silent, no Error message)
I clean flashed the whole ROM (Evolution X btw) ... still no Audio. I am getting very worried. Do you have any idea on how I can fix that?

Idk what caused the problem but the issue should have been gone with ROM flash. Even disabling them from Magisk ought to solve it for they're just systemless Magisk modules. If Magisk is removed or modules are disabled they have nothing to do with system. So the issue probably lies somewhere else. Try clean flashing your ROM by: 1) full wipe except external SD 2) flash Rui firmware only 3) flash custom rom 4) Flash Magisk
The issue should be gone. If not it's not a module related issue and I can't really help you.
If dolby can't open with Audio Modification Library
To install
- Flash ACBD-0.48.zip ( flash with add module in magisk)
- Reboot
Flash Dolby or Viper ( flash with add module in magisk)
- Reboot
- Done

I've used several of the ROMs that are available for the OnePlus 9, and the feature that i miss the most is the ability to spoof the name of the phone to make it work as a pixel. Is there a way to make this happen in the original android 12 rom with root?
The reason for this is the unlimited space in the google photos.

There are magisk modules for both tasks your asking about. One for photos and one to change fp
Did you figure it out? The Pixelify Magisk module is what you're looking for if not.

I would try it but I'm on a custom ROM and happy with it for now. It works flawlessly on 11.2.10.10 as well as a custom ROM that's using OOS12 firmware.
If you use the Magisk bootloop protector it should be relatively safe to try but I understand now wanting to risk it. Having to restore is a tedious process.
Pixelify isn't supported (yet?). You can however install Lsposed and use the Pixelify GPhotos module for that functionality.

Hii what custom tom are you currently using? and i wanna try custom roms too what rom is overall stable mainly for camera use and gaming.

I am using Nameless. It's pretty good but my fast charging broke. It starts off fast and then slows down. Hoping a fix is coming. Also beware that the stock camera hasn't been sorted so you will have to use a GCam mod.

I'd just go to the custom rom, OOS 12 is pretty bad
Can anyone help me? I installed pixelify (via lsposed) module & Universal safety net fix by kdrag0n however since I have rooted, my phone keeps getting hacked. Like last time all my gmail accounts got hacked in the midnight & morning my phone was hot. I thought it was bcz of mod apk so I uninstalled. Tbh my insta & Twitter also got hacked many times & it posted some bitcoin stuff even before root. Does any brother here know what's happening to my device? Would be thankful.
