Radio app disappears - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hello there! I've got erisin ES2896B in my bmw E46, and I dislike the launcher so I've decided to get a new launcher and create a custom menu, however my radio app has disappeared with couple other apps like music player when I've opened nova launcher, on my old one I can still see it, but when nova is on I can't find them anywhere, I've tried to install another radio app but it doesn't have any audio output or simply doesn't work, can someone help me please?

Add Music and FM Radio icon back to all apps

I'm rooted with undead's ROM, modaco's 4.0.0.9, and I've deleted the media room app which is the only way to get into music and fm radio outside of a widget or home screen shortcut. If I delete the htcsetup apk file and do a factory reset so-to-speak I get the music and fm radio shortcuts back in my app drawer but the weather app will NEVER show my location, other apps do though, but I don't want to keep it like this since I would imagine other built in things probably aren't working from not going through the initial htcsetup after a factory reset.
With all that being said, how do I simply get the music and fm radio icons to show up in my app drawer? I've gone through the htcsetup wizard as im supposed to which ends up removing or calling something to remove these 2 apps.
For some reason the icons don't show up in the app drawer when you use the stock launcher.
I use GO launcher EX, the MT4GS has enough power to really get some use out of it and turn on all the fun animations and such.
As soon as I switch launchers, the icons are in my drawer.
I think, if I remember right, that other launchers show the icons too, like ADW and such, but the only one I use anymore is GO so I am not sure.
This was something that aggravated me, I don't like or use widgets and media room was gone from my phone a long, long time ago.
I like the HTC stock music app, I think it's really well done.
Not exactly all the info you were looking for, but it's a step on the path.
I haven't really got a handle on the sense skin yet. So i can't answer that. I'm still learning.

Xshortcuts to create any icon(even hidden apps) on the desk. You can uninstall media room and access music with this free app fyi.
Well any app can be made a shortcut on the homescreen/desktop.
What I noticed though which is quite interesting is that if you delete the htcsetup.apk or something like that from the system/app folder and then format data and cache, which is essentially a factory reset, the fm radio and music shortcuts show back up in the drawer. Probably what's happening is that this initial setup wizard hides these 2 apps to encourage the use of the media room app. My only concern is how would I make sure things such as weather will work if I don't go through the initial setup wizard?

Same here, although I can access soundhound and tunein from the music app...
Never had this issue.
My Soundhound Icon is here sitting on my apps menu.
Just wondering... Do you have your apps menu to show All apps?
Mine is still there, however the girlfriends is having that issue...
*Edit1* Did some digging, there are more apps having this same issue. Mounted to the computer and found some files in .android_secure, turns out it's the missing ones. Funny thing happened while I was typing this out, HTC actually called me regarding another issue I have been dealing with and I informed them of this issue as well. He tested and saw what we see. He'll be getting back to me tomorrow on both issues. I'll update once I know more.
*Edit2* Uninstall soundhound, and reinstall from the market. This will automatically create a new icon on your home screen, but it still won't show up in the app drawer. Good temp fix. Also, using the built-in google search widget you can find your installed apps that don't show up, including Tune In Radio, which I have never seen in the app drawer.

Same issue here. The icon for tunein radio disappeared out of the blue from the home screen and the list of all installed apps. The only way to get to it is through "settings- apps- all".
*Update*
HTC Called me back last night. They are still running tests and will be working on this all week. They plan on contacting me back by/on Friday evening. They are also testing the calender notification issues.
Wow- please keep us updated. Thanks!

"Android TV" Experience - What's missing?

hey all
So I recently got myself a Nexbox A95x to play with, hardware is really nice, looks sleek, then I turned it on.. The first thing that hit me is the launcher UI is horrible.
To cut a long story short, I've looked on the Play Store and I can't seem to see any launchers that look anything close to the UI experience of Google's Leanback launcher so I'm wondering what you guys recommend as the launcher for one of these types of boxes?
Also, is there any apps you use to be notified on your TV when you get an sms or whatsapp etc?
I should also note I'm a dev, and I'm seriously considering building something better than what I've currently found out there so far so I'm interested to know if I've missed something or if the state of TV ui apps atm really is lacking..
You could try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.awe.dev.pro.tv
Once it been set-up, it's very good. You can change artwork of apps and rearrange with ease.
Does this replace original launcher? Or does it act app like? Does it start itself when booting android TV?
I know this thread is old but I recently purchased the A95X and wanted to share my thoughts for anyone who may find this in the near future.
The A95X isn't the greatest box by any stretch but the TV Launcher linked here has made this box worth using. I've been looking for a way to sideload the Google Android TV Launcher but this device is not listed as compatible with the play store listing. Still searching for that but in the mean time, TV Launcher is a quality app that does run app like but you just set it as the default launcher and it starts when you boot the box. I recommend it.

I will also suggest you to use HAL launcher.

How do I completely remove Netflix from H96pro+ ?

I recently bought a H96 pro android tv box which came with MBox laucher and some software pre-installed. One of the pre-installed softwares is Netflix which has a banner that occupies a substantial part of the screen.
I don't use Netflix, and don't want it in my box. So I tried to unistall it, but the banner still remains and now, when I click in, it the laucher crashes. There isn't also any setting available to configure the MBox laucher initial screen.
I liked MBox laucher, found it OK, my goal is just to completely remove Netflix.
But as I couldn't find any way to remove it even in internet forums, I decided to try another laucher only to find I can't change the launcher also.
So my question is:
1- how do I remove the Netflix banner from the initial laucher screen in mbox laucher ?
2- only if it's really not possible to change this, how do I change the laucher for H96 pro+ ? I tried to install Google Now but it won't show as an available laucher in the configuration.
did it
I run Nova launcher and it showed me a menu to change the launcher. It isn't apearing in configurations but that solved the problem.

More than one App hidden in One

Hello,
I allready started a thread about that and I'm sorry to repost but I think in this section I might find more luck.
So my problem is, that I've a crappy china android device, on which a very poor version of Launcher3 is preinstalled. I wan't to install a different Launcher like Nova.
But the thing is as soon as you install any other Launcher, most of the Apps disappear.
All those Apps are hidden in one App called com.ts.mainui8, and the shortcuts to the individual Apps are only stored in the stock Launcher. Never shown in the app tab of settings or anything else, just custom shortcuts premade on the stock launcher.
So how do I recreate those App Shurtcuts on another Launcher? Is there any App I could install that tells me the exact path of those shortcuts on the stock Launcher and even then I still not know how to make new complete custom ones.
I am usually a Windows guy, in windows for example the explorer.exe contains many many Applications, like most settings, to create a network settings shortcut for example you have to type "C:\Windows\explorer. exe" ms-settings:network-ethernet . There must a way to do a similar thing in android, but how?
Really hope anyone could help me with that, thanks people.
OK finally found a Solution for my Problem, the App Activity Launcher allows to ceate certain shortcuts, thanks anyway
