Audio Quality on the Honor View20 - Honor View 20 Guides, News, & Discussion

Audio Quality on the Honor View20One of the strongest features of the Honor View20 is the audio quality. I wanted to test the speakers, the internal mic, and the headphone quality. In order to accurately test the quality of the audio, we need to test it against other smartphones in its price range. So I tested the phone against the Xiaomi Mi 9 and the OnePlus 6T.
Recording Quality (Internal Mic)
I set up all three phones to be the same distance away from my mouth, and recorded this audio using the default audio recorders.
Results:
OnePlus 6T
Xiaomi Mi 9
Honor View20
Speaker Quality
To test the speaker quality, I step up each phone with the bottom firing speaker about 6 inches away from my audio recorder. I played a snippet of a movie trailer from YouTube, and had the media volume set to max. Here are the results.

Headphone Quality
Out of the three phones, the Honor View20 is the only one with a headphone jack. You can always use a USB Type-C pair of headphones for the OnePlus 6T and the Xiaomi Mi 9, but nothing beats the convenience of a 3.5mm headphone jack. When using headphones, you can crank the volume up nice and loud. The quality will obviously depend almost entirely on the headphones you're using. It's nice to see that Honor is still dedicated to integrating a headphone jack in their phones.

Audio quality in View20
What are the full sound specks in Honor View20? Does it support hi-res audio? Thanx in advance

Tiny, tiny little portable headphones amplifier

Figured I'd share what I found while surfing for headphone amps.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/658619/fireye-mini-review
The new Firestone Audio Fireye Mini is one of the smallest headphone amplifiers in the world, and offers improved sound quality across the board with all iPod, iPad, iPhones and virtually any MP3 player with a 3.5mm headphone output.
No matter if you have an iPod Touch or an iPod Nano, the Fireye Mini will provide you with better sound quality, with improved bass response and authority, and the ability to drive a more difficult load than woudl otherwise be possible.
The Fireye Mini could not be easier to use, simply charge via USB connection to your computer, and then connect to the headphone output of your portable music player, to enjoy great sound on the go.

This thing is TINY. And apparently it'll give a small volume boost, but the impressive thing is that since it has more power, you get more clarity and better bass. And it goes for ~20 hours on rechargeable battery, which is kinda neat.
$40 at Amazon Prime and available in like six different colors.

Yeah, it's the little tiny purple box in this pic. Also available in black & other various colors.

NOTE: This will NOT work with microphones. So if your headphones have mics, then you can use this with the headphone but the microphone won't work as long as this is attached.

Q: Rate the audio quality of headset for music player

How do you rate the sound quality of wired headset for music playback of quality MP3 or FLAC.
Also what headsets are people finding best on the mate 7 for music media.

and at home I have Audio-Technica ATH-ES7
IMHO, it is superb for flac with Dolby DTS turned on.
My headphone is Audio Technica CKS77X.
Player is PowerAMP with all effects switch off.
Yes the audio output is the best I have ever heard with my own custom headphones.
Kudos to Kirin SOC and Huawei research.

I know is not the place, but I need to ask you, does poweramp, to be more specific the unlock app drains battery on your phone? I found out that it did on my mate 7.
@Luinwethion
I am not aware of poweramp drains battery, with the highest thread setting for audio preference and +750ms audio buffer.
When DTS is on it drains more.. bcos u engaging DTS chip to circuit..

[ACCESSORIES][REVIEW] 2015 Anker Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker (A3143)

Hey XDA,
Here is my review of the 2015 Anker Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker including HD pics. I purchased this from Amazon UK for £39.99 and I'm sure it's available from your countries Amazon.
These speakers although small pack a serious punch and deliver crisp highs as well as bass heavy lows, a brilliant all-rounder with a premium look and feel. They are one of ankers newest devices in their audio range and they definitely do not disappoint, with a modern look, easy to use buttons with likewise connectivity and the added benefit of an AUX 3.5mm input.
These speakers will outperform anything within it's price range however you use it, whether connected directly to a PC watching a movie or pumping out your the latest songs on your phone, although I found I prefer it for gaming and movies. I had also recently bought a Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth speaker for around the same price and honestly it's just tucked away under this Anker one now.
Every device that is bluetooth enabled should work, that's including PCs and laptops (which from experience do not always work over bluetooth) and if not the 3.5mm jack offers a seamless connection with difficulty to other and/or older devices such as basic MP3 players.
Overall I genuinely cannot fault this speaker it has far exceeded expectations and also blown every other one I own out of the water!

Have you ever wondered why our Mi 4i has superb audio clarity..Secret Revealed!

Hi guyss ...
Hope your having superb time with MI 4i
So without much of a introduction ,i am going straight to the topic:angel:
Our mi 4i has one best audio out put out there ,hope you guys have same opinion as i am, as i rooted my device just out curiosity found that our device has Dolby audio even though Xiaomi never brand as dolby enabled device.I hope why did they never branded Dolby enabled device as many brands do.to add to my view GSM areana applauded Mi 4i for superb sound clarity
Qouted:
"The Xiaomi Mi 4i did excellently when connected to an active external amplifier. Matching above average volume levels with spotlessly clean output, the Chinese midranger is certainly among the better performers out there.
Plugging in a pair of headphones lead to a moderate hike in stereo crosstalk but no other issues with the audio quality. Volume remains above average too, rounding up an overall very solid performance for the price range."
I used 'Kernel Tunner **root ** " App from playstore and found Dolby audio is silently helping Xiaomi Mi 4i in music department.
please do check your xiaomi Mi 4i and do comment .

I am impressed with xiomi mi4i, loaded with miui 7.
This is the first time that I don't have the insatiable need to seek out a rom to replace the OS, miui.
All I need was to root it. And add swapp for easier access to my most used apps...

No stereo separation

Hello. I just jumped to a xperia 5 II from a huawei p30 and i was really anxious to try out the speakers and the sound quality. To my surprise, there is no stereo separation. Front phone speakers...ok, i don t mind. But headphones? Mainly i was using wired headphones from apple. But i also tried other headphones and same result. No stereo separation. No left or right output from tests on youtube. Is there a setting i m missing? I only find good opinions regarding sound. So i m not sure if my device has an issue or there is a setting i don t know about. Toggleing dolby on or of does not make a difference. No stereo on other apps also

I tried YouTube videos for left channel right channel test and everything seems to be working fine. Front Stereo Speaker, SONY 310AP Wired headphones and Sony MDR-XB950N1 wireless all working properly. I have Dolby Atmos and DSEE Ultimate setting ON.
Working now. Fiiiiiinally. When swaping, the sony took over all settings from the p30, including mono audio, which was activated on the other phone. All good now. Thank you
