Hello.
I have an philips android TV and i'd like to know if is it possible that with some key of my remote control can change the speed to 2x, 4x etc when i'm playing a film without having to enter to play/speed/ and modify the speed touch to touch.
Thanks so much

MX Player only supports the keyboard shortcuts at the moment. Each TV manufacturer has a different set of keys on remote for different kind of functionalities, and it makes it harder for us to support everything through the remote.

WickedStyx has modifed the official XBMC remote app for the Viewsonic Tab so that it scales to the full screen. The GTab is a smaller screen than the SGT, but the app still now seems to scale to the full screen and looks much better!
Go grab it from his thread over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878016!
Very nice indeed. Controlling your xbmc from your Tab or phone is quite a neat party piece. However, as everyday solution, a standard IR remote with real buttons is far superior. 90% of the time I use the remote, I don't look at it, but rather find the correct button by touch.

The media PC in the lounge has an IR interface and is mapped to a Logitech harmony remote so I can use that to control XBMC. The PC in my room however doesn't have any IR (trying to get 3rd party IR interface working in OS X = hopeless). So I use XBMC remote on my tab or my Nexus-One instead.

The only solution so far I got is to switch from original ROM to Christian Troy's CM10 including Zulu99's DroidMote patches.
I am still not allowed to post links, so if you're interested, PM me.
Don't know how similar but I love Splashtop 2
I do not know what "DroidMote" is, but I use Unified Remote as my Android remote control. I watch a lot of stuff on my computer, hooked up to my TV, and it lets me use my Android keyboard as my computer keyboard, and the touch screen like a laptop's touch pad. It's a little jittery due to latency, I think, but it gets the job done. From the couch, I can open VLC's Media > Open and browse my local (PC's) file system and play music or video. The free app has some limitations but is usable enough. If you know VLC's keyboard controls, the basic input remote works well. Only, I use SwiftKey Flow, and sometimes it doesn't send key presses to the system (it wants to build a word). I have a Tasker profile to open the keyboard selector when Unified Remote opens, but it's annoying, so I have it disabled presently.

Unified Remote has nothing to do with DroidMote. (I use both.)
Just wondering if it's possible, via any apps or remote control, to control my iPod touch through my android device. Mainly i just want to change music, so I'm pretty much looking for a remote control application.
Thanks.
Thanks for any help. I am looking for a app with programable buttons to play pc games from my android. I had one a long time ago but I can't remember it. What I mean by programmable buttons are this, like I use to be able to put a track pad on screen to control mouse movements, with adding any button to the touch screen like mouse click wsad. Etc. Thank you for the help. What I really am doing is wanting to control my pc through my phone on the couch which is to far from my pc and I don't want a wireless keyboard .
I found one, called splashtop hd gaming, but it wasn't on the play store cause it told me it wasn't compatible with my device. I found it on a weird site and downloaded it for free and it works fine and what I wanted, but I would like to have the play store version for 9.99, any way to by pass Google's obviously bad attempt to tell people what apps will and will not work on our own devices?
I use Unified Remote. Can't remember how much i paid for it, its been a while. But it works really well, and has various styles of remotes you can use. Media player remotes, Hulu, Netflix, Simple mouse control and keyboard, etc. There is a free version as well, that lacks some of the remotes, but you can give it a try before you buy.

Universal remote.
I love subtitle gestures (seek to previous/next subtitle) but this feature seems to be unavailable when running on Android TV (no touch screen there). I think it should be trivial to add this functionality, at least, when using a gamepad
Thanks

We already have many keyboard shortcuts for various actions. We will discuss with our product team about the possibility for this one. Till that, You could use mouse to achieve the same.
Thank you for your reply
A gamepad has three different left/rigth controls and they are now doing the same thing (10 seconds back/forward). Programming one of this controls for subtitle navigation should be a 5 minutes effort. Android TV apps should be gamepad/remote friendly. Keyboard & mouse are not normally present in this platform so I'm not convinced with the solution you have proposed (that is Ok as a workaround). I assume that a solution for remotes is not easy (not standard/free controls available) but that's not a problem, as I said previously, with gamepads
Thanks in advance

May be, I could explain a little more. When you use any directional control keys (whether it's a Remote or Game Controller or Keyboard), android generates the same key events (i.e KEYCODE_DPAD_UP, KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN, KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER). Most of the android consoles has very simple remote with simple navigation keys. They depends on Navigation Keys for Seeking / Volume change. So, If we change right/left key it will break everything.
