Remote desktop with programmable buttons. - AT&T LG G3

Thanks for any help. I am looking for a app with programable buttons to play pc games from my android. I had one a long time ago but I can't remember it. What I mean by programmable buttons are this, like I use to be able to put a track pad on screen to control mouse movements, with adding any button to the touch screen like mouse click wsad. Etc. Thank you for the help. What I really am doing is wanting to control my pc through my phone on the couch which is to far from my pc and I don't want a wireless keyboard .

I found one, called splashtop hd gaming, but it wasn't on the play store cause it told me it wasn't compatible with my device. I found it on a weird site and downloaded it for free and it works fine and what I wanted, but I would like to have the play store version for 9.99, any way to by pass Google's obviously bad attempt to tell people what apps will and will not work on our own devices?

I use Unified Remote. Can't remember how much i paid for it, its been a while. But it works really well, and has various styles of remotes you can use. Media player remotes, Hulu, Netflix, Simple mouse control and keyboard, etc. There is a free version as well, that lacks some of the remotes, but you can give it a try before you buy.

XBMC Remote that scales!

WickedStyx has modifed the official XBMC remote app for the Viewsonic Tab so that it scales to the full screen. The GTab is a smaller screen than the SGT, but the app still now seems to scale to the full screen and looks much better!
Go grab it from his thread over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878016!
Very nice indeed. Controlling your xbmc from your Tab or phone is quite a neat party piece. However, as everyday solution, a standard IR remote with real buttons is far superior. 90% of the time I use the remote, I don't look at it, but rather find the correct button by touch.

The media PC in the lounge has an IR interface and is mapped to a Logitech harmony remote so I can use that to control XBMC. The PC in my room however doesn't have any IR (trying to get 3rd party IR interface working in OS X = hopeless). So I use XBMC remote on my tab or my Nexus-One instead.

[Q] The best remote?

Hi everyone,
I've just come into the world to Android from an iPhone. The one thing I'm really struggling with is a decent and easy to set up Windows PC remote control app.
On the iPhone I had Hippo Remote which was in a word perfection. Different profiles for different programs, a lag free trackpad and excellent keyboard. I can't seem to find any android app which has the same functionality and after looking for a while I don't expect too.
The main program I use is VLC. Can anyone recommend a VLC remote which is lag free, can make videos go full screen, play, pause, stop, rewind and fast forward and quite importantly enable/disable subtitles? I don't mind paying for it as long as people have had good experiences from it
I've tried a couple of free ones but can't seem to find one which either works or is of any use.
Thanks

Streaming phone`s screen to another Android

As title says. I have two HTC Sensation`s and want to connect one of them to TV via MHL Link, and use another one, but see it`s screen wirelessly on TV. I hope I explained it right. Is there any app that lets stream one phone`s screen to another?

Nope, your best bet would be to download an Aosp rom with working MHL, then connect to the phone by Bluetooth with a Nintendo Wii controller, you'll have to use the TV as a primary screen unless you want to sit next to the phone, you'll have to download an app to allow use of the Wii controller through menus, Wiimote is good!

for example to play games on TV from Sensation wirelessly. Or to watch movies and swap between them while sitting on sofa
Hi,
I do have configured my sensation with my Gtab to do something like you want.
There are a couple of possibilities:
A) using imediashare little (free on the market) on both devices you can stream from one to the other. You can also use the DLNA of the album apk.
B) using tablet remote (free on the market) you can control one device with the other. In that way you can have an Android TV.
C) get a BT mouse and keyboard, and control your phone remotely.
Hope it help.
Brgds

Bluetooth key board should work fine, the mouse would work as if its 4 directional arrow keys, going through and highlighting click able options, no cursor

in this video I can see cursor on Sense 3.6 (ARHD6.1.1). Do you think it`s fake? I`m not sure now Has anyone tried it?
edit:At 0:28 you can see cursor even in Launcher.
edit2: As in video, bluetooth mouse and keyboard works. Mouse shows cursor everywhere. The only problem is that both buttons on mouse works as click, no back button on mouse. But I have back button on keyboard, so that`s not a problem. ROM I`m using is PKMN v5.1.

I tried thaat, but it still lags too much to play game. But thanks for info, I will look at this app and wait for updates, maybe then it will be good
I believe that in order to pair the ps3 controller only root is required. So you dont have to flash aokp, dont have to lose sense for the controller option to work

Sense won't recognise half the controllers buttons and would have problems connecting, sense doesn't have a full Bluetooth stack like AOSP, so 70% of Bluetooth input is ignored
Now you can use our new app, VMLite VNC Server to do that, you run the server on phone, and open a browser on the other to view and control the phone. VNC Viewer should also work.

I use screen stream: https ://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobzapp.screenstream.trial
Works like a charm using VLC on my other phone to watch it.
Hi,
I'm on the same situation as you (OP).
I installed XBMC on the phone connected to the TV and Yatse (XBMC controller) on the phone on my hand. There are some games and good add-ons for XBMC so you can have a good all round media center.
Give it a try...

The only solution so far I got is to switch from original ROM to Christian Troy's CM10 including Zulu99's DroidMote patches.
I am still not allowed to post links, so if you're interested, PM me.
Don't know how similar but I love Splashtop 2
I do not know what "DroidMote" is, but I use Unified Remote as my Android remote control. I watch a lot of stuff on my computer, hooked up to my TV, and it lets me use my Android keyboard as my computer keyboard, and the touch screen like a laptop's touch pad. It's a little jittery due to latency, I think, but it gets the job done. From the couch, I can open VLC's Media > Open and browse my local (PC's) file system and play music or video. The free app has some limitations but is usable enough. If you know VLC's keyboard controls, the basic input remote works well. Only, I use SwiftKey Flow, and sometimes it doesn't send key presses to the system (it wants to build a word). I have a Tasker profile to open the keyboard selector when Unified Remote opens, but it's annoying, so I have it disabled presently.

Unified Remote has nothing to do with DroidMote. (I use both.)

Which AP for IR blaster ?

Does the tablet come with an ap that use the IR blaster; and if not any suggestions in this arena ?

Hum searching it sounds like watchon is suppose to do the job; thoough it is a bit confusing from the description of the app on google-play.

WatchOn does a splendid job in my opinion. You can select shows and genres that you like, and it will show you shows that are on specific to the categories and selections that you chose. You can change channels, set reminders, and set favorite channels. Pretty useful remote replacement.
WatchOn is definately the included app meant to be used for remote stuffs, but I found it lacking for my needs. I did like that it integrated with listings so you could find a show and point it at your tv and 'watch now', but I spent all the fun money on this tablet instead of upgrading the living room electronics.
It will likely work if you have a normal/basic tv setup, but I have a bit of an older tv and the tuner inside does not work too well. We use a VCR that gets a better signal off the cable for channels, but no way to make this app do channels on a vcr (or any vcr commands for that matter) and send volume controls to the TV. For reference, a universal remote can do that just fine, and costs under $20. I find it sad that they couldn't implement in software what a cheap universal remote can do...I will be looking to see if some other software is also usable with the IR blaster.

I would like an app that would be very simple and just add a functional widget to the home screen. Volume, channel up, down, thats about it. Tried a few from the Play Store but they all sucked and many were bloated overkill... something right must be out there.
Search for ZaZaRemote in Playstore, this is the best IR remote I ever used and have macros that I love.
edit:
Oupss..sorry its Smart IR Remote I mean. But peoples already recommended it.
I use Smart IR Remote for its simple widget ability... hated loading watchon when I just wanted to change channels or turn up the volume...
Smart IR Remote looks good, I am going to try it out.
