Samsung Pay - Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) Questions & Answers

Does the A7 (2018) have Samsung Pay? On the GSM Arena listing of the specs for this it lists that it has Samsung Pay. I just got the phone today and can't seem to find it

Make sure if Samsung Pay is available in your country.

Seems like A7 is compatible with NFC paying via Samsung Pay.
Also in Russia software A7 comes with Samsung Pay preinstalled.

Well, this phone supports NFC payments, but be careful because Samsung Pay is not available for this device in all countries. The only way to be sure if it is compatible is checking the list of available devices in the Samsung's webpage from your country.
For example, Spain was one of the first countries implementing Samsung Pay but the A7 2018 is not compatible here.

[Q] How to check MST support

I would like to know how to check whether a S6 model supports MST technology or not?
I just want to know because at local shop a Samsung representative told that S6 sold in my country doesn't has the MST chip. According to him Samsung Pay won't be launched here.

I should have posted this in the General section?

S2 & Android Pay

With the S2 having Tap & Pay (NFC) I was trying to get it to use Android Pay, but I can't figure this out. If the S2 is waiting for Samsung Pay, my S2 will be waiting awhile because I have a Note Edge on Verizon. Anybody get this to work?
I think Verizon is sending out an OTA update for Samsung Pay support. The other issue is waiting for Samsung to send out an update to the watch itself for Samsung Pay support.

I would be very surprised if the S2 supports Android Pay. I don't think it will happen considering Samsung has its own very good payment system. I've been using Samsung Pay for over a month now and it's great. I think Samsung Pay support for the S2 will be coming sometime in November.
I tried using my S2 at Walgreens where I've often used my Nexus 5 to pay. Had nfc turned on on S2, but it didn't work. Only tried it once, so no idea if it was a glitch, or isn't supported.

It won't work until Samsung issues the firmware update.
I don't have the link, but I read that Samsung Pay is not coming until November.
Why will it not work for Android Pay? Samsung Pay is great and all, but it was made for NFC & MTC and the S2 can only do NFC. do you think the Edge or s2 will get update to where you can choose?
I wish listed the Samsung Pay app but it doesn't work with my bank or Phone! thnks Samsung!!!

Easy. Imagine you made a great payment system. And imagine a company, competing with it. You also made an awesome watch that can handle mobile payments. Now think, will you work with competitor to setup a way to send payment data over bluetooth, over your own API to the watch, or are you going to do it to your own payment system, with your own engineers?
It's pointless for them to open it up to competitor. Yes, it will make sense from consumer standpoint, but not from manufacturer. Why open up to others, while you can just swing your userbase numbers around.

Samsung Pay won't work on Gear S2 imported into Australia

I bought my Gear S2 from a company called eGlobal which is a grey importer. I thought all was well until I tried to install Samsung Pay on it. I've read on other forums that these imported Gear S2s won't install Samsung Pay. So...
1) Is there a way of forcing Samsung Pay to install in this situation?
Or
2) Is there a way of installing the proper Australian ROM onto the Gear S2, which would the presumably allow Samsung Pay to install?

I'm in the same boat, Kogan.com are selling the Gear S2 Classic with the international version. Thus I cannot get Spay or my bank's NFC apps as they are restricted to Australian devices only

Samsung Pay

Has anyone confirmed Samsung Pay MST functionality?
I see info on the web that the A50 has S-Pay but only via NFC.
other websites say that the A51 has NFC and MST.

Global rom on Snapdragon N20U version ?

Hello guys,
in my country (france) if i import a N20U with the snapdragon processor, i know for example samsung pay and volte doesn't work and updates software maybe not in same time (and different?), my question is, can i flash a qualcomm version with a global rom intended for the model with exynos processor? and if it's possible samsung pay volte etc work like the europe version after that?
Maybe it's a stupid question but the last time i used odin for flash a phone it's in 2012 so .. ?

1) I wouldn't assume that Samsung pay and VoLTE wouldn't work - it's actually likely they would, as Samsung Pay appears to work if the phone's CSC is for a country/region with Samsung Pay, and VoLTE appears to work if the phone has your carrier's frequencies and your carrier supports it;
2) Short answer is no, you can't flash an Exynos ROM on a Snapdragon model;
3) if your goal is to get a Note 20 with the Snapdragon processor, I would suggest you also check out the thread on the HK SM-N9860.

Hope it is helpful. I would add that while Samsung Pay likely would work in France using a U.S. N20U, it would be the U.S. version of Samsung Pay, and therefore not all cards from France would necessarily work with it, as again, Samsung Pay appears to be inextricably linked to the phone's CSC (country-specific code).
That said, as you will see in the thread on the HK SM-N9860, users are reporting good success with Samsung Pay outside of HK, for example.
Would welcome others weighing in on the compatibility and pros/cons of different ROMs with the various models of Note, as my knowledge is very limited in that regard.

I live in the UK and volte works perfectly. I tried with 2 different mobile operators. The same with wifi calling. Samsung Pay also works perfectly, it just displays Chinese promos.

Just until VirtualWaver replies, that's right - because it is the HK version of Samsung Pay on that model. His point was that he was using it successfully outside of HK, in the UK.
The key differences between the HK model and the N20U you are considering (apart from US vs HK Samsung Pay) is the HK model is dual-SIM, and comes with 256 GB of storage (versus the US base model's 128 GB).
Note as well the discussions in the threads about getting 5G on the HK model, which may be problematic.

Yes, promos related to country of CSC (Hong Kong in my case) - see the attached screenshot.
I have SM-9860 imported from Hong Kong (via Wondamobile).
All works great, only Hong Kong related ads in the app instead of your local ads and it doesn't allow to use UK transport card, only Smart Octopus (HK travel card) but this is only to touch in in transport without turning on the phone - you can still touch in and pay in public transport by swapping to Samsung Pay in lock screen and authorising the payment via biometrics.
I added my UK bank card and a few store cards and they all work flawlessly.
Confirmed Samsung Pay worked in Canada too ( SM-N9860 ), however not anymore since I rooted

This csc is annoying because the phone will have updates at the same time as China and I read that the updates are really later than in France
