Question Joying Zlink (CarPlay) and an inability for anyone to hear me over voice calls - FYT Android Head Units

Hey all,
Anyone have a solution for callers not being able to hear you when the call is taken through CarPlay over Zlink on a Joying head unit? My head unit is: JY-VO133N4. When I unplug my phone I'm able to have phone calls work great over blue tooth, so this appears to just be a Zlink/CarPlay issue. I can hear the caller perfectly, they just can't hear me.
Edit, they actually can hear me, but I come through with very low volume and with static, I'm undiscernable on their end.

Possible that it's trying to use the mic on your phone and not on the HU. I've done tests and this is what mine does. Where is your phone when driving?

Have same problem. zlink use phone mic?

I have the same problem, try to rec an whatsapp audio and listen after, It sound same when you make the calls and I think and the sound is too looow and pooor. My bluetooth calls are great!!! what could be the problem?

Same problem here, which got worse after updating to IOS 14.8.
I can hear all people very clear, BUT they hear me very far and distant (so it is of no use).
It is NOT a hw mic issue, nor a headunit issue, because when I kill Zlink and use the audio unit's bluetooth, all works perfectly.

My bluetooth audio works fine, It is a pity that the calls do not work, it is the only thing need for work perfectly

I know this thread has some age to it, but I recently started having the same problem that while using CarPlay through zlink, any phones calls, no one could hear me, but mics worked when connected to android BT. Also worked connecting a Samsung phone through android auto. Only occurred using iPhone and CarPlay. Been going on for a few months and couldn’t for the life of me figure it out.
Even updated to iOS 15 and same problem.
Today I finally got it working!!
This is what I did. Hope it helps others.
Connect to the unit and let zlink connect and go into CarPlay.
From within CarPlay, open google maps.
Press the microphone button in the bottom corner of google maps. You should get a pop-up saying that you have to allow google access to the microphone.
Immediately look at your phone, you should have a request on the iPhone to allow google access to the microphone.
ALLOW IT!
Then press the microphone button again in google maps. It should now allow you to use voice for searching.
Now go place a phone call!
This solved the problem for me. Hope it helps others.

Thought I'd found a solution but there was no microphone button on CarPlays Google Maps

[Q] voice search with a bluetooth speakerphone

so, i just got my first bluetooth device over the weekend, a jabra cruiser 2. it seems to work ok for taking and receiving calls but when i try to use the google voice search (call <name> or navigate to <place>), the phone's mic is what's used, rather than the bluetooth device. given where my phone is placed in its car mount (an airvent mount), the phone cant hear me due to the vent blowing on it. i cant find any setting to fix this. is it a limitation of google's app or a bug with the sensation? i wouldve figured when paired with a BT device, all voice related stuff would go through the BT.

Bluetooth mic doesn't work with voice search?

This just feels like I am doing something wrong or missing some setting somewhere, but this is what I am seeing.
I've tested using a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ as well as a BlueAnt S4 on an Evo with Synergy mod as well as an Evo with Fresh mod.
I can get the voice search app to open fine (using Blue Launch), the issue is that when I do the bluetooth microphone is no longer used and the microphone on the handset is used instead. This works fine in a quiet room, but fails horribly on the road. I've also tested this with other searching apps to verify it wasn't just the Voice Search app (default voice dialer fails as well).
You can test this yourself by sitting in a quiet room, starting voice search, then alternating blowing into the bluetooth mic then the handset mic. You should see the microphone icon on the screen fill up when you blow on the handset and empty to almost nothing on the bluetooth mic.
This seems like a major failing, something that shouldn't have been overlooked so I must be doing something wrong. How can I get my phones to use the bluetooth microphone when the bluetooth device is connected instead of the handset microphone?
Anyone have any idea or can point me in the right direction?

[Q] Bluetooth Voice Command prompts not loud enough / Nexus 5 and Pioneer CD-BTB200

Hey,
I am having trouble with my Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Adapter, which is a common problem, according to the very few available threads on the internet.
This also didn't work with any other Smartphone before i.e. Samsung S3 or Blackberry Bold 9700.
Cliffnotes:
-pairing, media streaming (different source) and receiving and making calls works great! No issues there
-transfering the contact list results in a big mess, I have to dig in there if I can figure it out or if I just transfer one contact after another....
-now for the problem.......I installed Cyberon Voice Commander because it gives me the best behaviour and voice recognition since I am a native German speaker. Google, Dragon and AIVC don't work really well. But it doesn't matter which voice assist app I use, because it is the Bluetooth adapters fault. The Nexus 5 is rooted and runs stock Kernel with KitKat 4.4.2.
When I press the voice dial button on my Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD deck it activates the Cyberon Voice Commander app (or whichever is set as default). so far so good, that is what I want.
But! the dialog between me and the phone is almost impossible because the output volume over the car speakers is way to low. I have to literally pick up the phone and look at it's display to see what the voice commanding app is doing because you have to wait until it is finished asking what I want to do. (just holding a phone is illegal in Germany)
Assuming the app understood me right and starts dialing everything turns to be fine from that point because the volume of the actual call is perfect!
When the phone talks back to me I have to crank the volume all the way up to understand it a little bit and then turn it back down fast before the phone call starts or it'll blow the speakers out....since my car is quite loud when on temperature I don't think I will understand anything when I am driving.
I heard that the app TASKER could be programmed to raise the Bluetooth volume at a certain point and then lower it again. I checked but it only goes up to 15, which I already have set before with the stock volume slider. Additionally I have no idea how to configure Tasker to (maybe) get rid of the problem.
Has anyone ever heard of a similar problem and / or has an idea how to handle it?
Again, it's only the voice command prompts that are way to quiet when I start the voice dialing function via Bluetooth, everything else is fine.
Fixed the issue with SoundAbout!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix&hl=de
Now the voice prompts play loud and clear over the car speakers! Every other volume managing app failed miserably!
I used the latest Beta Version btw, going to buy the Pro Version soon.

I did very little changes to the settings, if anyone is interested I can hook you up with some screenshots

I have this issue as well. SO what did you have to do with this app?

bluetooth no call audio pixel

I used to be able to hear calls and media whilst connected to bluetooth in my car. one day it just stopped working. media still works but when i make a call or receive one, there's no audio. calls ,audio, and contacts are all checked in bluetooth settings. i've forgotten devices, rebooted, reconnecting, and nothing helps.
bluetooth connects to everything fine, but no call sound over any accessory i try. got a new car and it won't work in there either. i'm on android 7.1.2 .
searched all over and plenty of people are having these issues but none of the posts i've read solve my problem. any help would be appreciated
Hey hey, I have a 128GB pixel with the same issue. I actually opened a case with Google support today about it. about 3 months back, only phone audio stopped working in my car. I was hoping the 8.0 update would fix it but it did not. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. I tried everything on my phone - even factory reset. Media audio works, I can play Spotify just fine but when i get a call, I can not hear the other person and they cannot hear me. The phone indicates it is connected via bluethooth... I'll try to update this post with what they find.

128G pixel here. This happens with every Bluetooth device I connect it to. 2 car stereos, 2 speakers, and a headset. All worked fine and suddenly one day... Didn't. I was hoping O Would fix it with all the Bluetooth bug fixes and changes they implemented.
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Darn, so the issue is a bit different. Mine works fine on a couple of other speakers I have.
Did anyone ever solve this? I've got the same issue, but it effects *all* my Bluetooth devices, but only when I am switched to my secondary user profile.
I've reset the phone app but no dice.
My phone will say it is connected to the Bluetooth device for the phone call. If I switch to speaker or phone and then back to Bluetooth, it works. Anyone else have similar?

Hi!
After hours of Googling you are the first I found who has the same error.
I have a Lenovo TAB4 8+, my kid wants to use Zoom and his Bluetooth headset but only the speaker and mic on the tablet works. I tried fresh install, without luck:
There are 4 type of users:
- Owner (primary - this is the only profile which works for calls on bluetooth headset)
- Standard Users (secondary - bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Child (bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Guest
The bluetooth headset is working with other devices, but not with this one. Unfortunately I have no other android device which supports multi-user.
Moreover, there was an hour when bt call worked from secondary user, but couldn't find out what is the problem.
Can anybody help me on this?
Best regards,
Karoly

Question Poor Bluetooth call quality

Greetings. I am the owner of a FYT UIS 7862 device. I have now done all the workarounds regarding the poor microphone quality during a call via Bluetooth.
I have connected an external microphone and disabled the internal microphone (via adhesive tape on the two contacts).
Here is the external microphone: https://m.de.aliexpress.com/item/1005001585070997.html?gatewayAdapt=Pc2Msite
Then I reflashed the firmware with the config.txt and this content:
persist.sys.zlink.mic.vol=9.9
persist.audio.mic.senstivity=1
persist.btmic.gain=10
persist.btspk.gain=7
Nevertheless, the call quality is really extremely poor. Then I installed a recorder app and recorded my voice. The test showed a clear sound image, it really sounded very good. But as soon as you make a call via Bluetooth, the quality is very poor.
Does anyone else have an idea what I could do? Thank you guys.
I had the same issue with Mekede M300S FYT116. This extra content is not valid for this unit, flash back the original config.txt and try.
The same for me, anyone has solution on this?
IMHO : Change the microphone !!!
I think I tested about 15 microphones (recovered from various devices) until I found one that works perfectly.

I have now ordered a Sony XA-MC10. Will report on Monday whether it works. If Sony is no good, what then?
I also ordered an expensive Panasonic microphone. But, unfortunately, I was not satisfied with him; also by testing several microphones I solved the problem. The "winning" microphone is a no-name.I don't know exactly, but it could come from a mobile headset...
I connected the Sony microphone today and what can I say: it works perfectly. Now everyone can hear me clearly and understandably. By the way, I paid 25€ for the Sony XA-MC10 new (on eBay) and can highly recommend it.
I'm glad you've sorted it out. Can I make you a question about your bluetooth connection? I also have a FYT 7862 and calls occurs without problem, but regarding the bluetooth connection: does your radio connects to your phone as soon as your get inside your car or do you have to connect it manually?
For me, the smartphone connects immediately with Bluetooth of the headunit. It takes one second.
But the headunit always connects automatically to the last Bluetooth connection. If I was connected and then my wife drives the car, she has to connect manually. The same then when I drive again afterwards.

Thank you for replying. Ok, so my unit does exactly the same but it doesn´t keep "My Favorites" on the main screen, it wipes it all, through the change. Does yours keep the "favorites" of each of one connections?
Once again regarding the Bluetooth connection: I put a button on the home screen of my wife's smartphone and mine. You click this once briefly and it connects immediately with the head unit, should it not happen automatically. This saves a few annoying clicks on the smartphone. You can easily do this via Macrodroid.
Regarding the favorites: No favorites are deleted, everyone has his own. I do not have this bug.
Thanks for that tip. In fact it saves a bunch of time! I'll see with the developer why my favorites get wiped.
Macrodroid is a powerfull one.

hi, did you replace the microphone or did you also disable the internal microphone.

I have replaced the microphone. Also my head-unit had a setting in its Factory Settings an option to choose internal or external microphone. I Opted for an external one there. But even with this setting with the included microphone and one other, the other party in the call could barely understand what I was saying. Since I have installed the Sony XA-MC10, I can have a normal call. Yes, people say there is interference and noises while driving, but the call apparently is clear enough. Maybe it is worth mentioning previous two microphones were center windshield close to rear-view mirror. This one is installed on the left-side roof-support (or whatever it is called), a bit closer to me.

Same here, it's a good microphone. My unit doesn't have an internal microphone so no interference issues.
The only issue left is a bit annoying still: The other person hears an echo of its own voice, I guess my unit picks it up from the speakers and transmits it back to the other person - the echo stops once I mute the microphone.
My voice is clearly heard (unless I mute of course).
Must be software related, because the issue doesn't exist in calls using Microsoft Teams and the like (installed on the unit and using the same microphone and speakers).

Thanks for providing the solution with the sony microphone, but I wanted to ask you about the most recommended configuration of the "config.txt" file.
Did you respect the factory settings?
Or have you modified it?
