Bricked Galaxy S6 - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, i have a very big problem. My Galaxy S6 is bricked, i install Galaxy Note 8 rom with android 8.0, unfortunately, most of the applications did not work because i have root, I wanted to get back to android 7.0. When I wanted to install the stock rom in odin (the system was one-shot) FAIL jumped out - just then the phone was bricked. I tried install the four file system, i tried android 7.0, 6.0.1 and 5.0.2 with PIT file. This dont work, i have FAIL in odin. I also installed the factory binary rom and it does not work either.. I use ODIN 3.13.1, 3.09 and 3.10.6, it dont work on any :crying:
I could not get into recovery so I downloaded TWRP, the phone shows SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 logo and the red word Recovery is not seandroid enforcing. Please help, i dont have any idea to repair this..

Need help with my non-booting SM-N915A

So I wanted to downgrade to 4.4.4 from 5.0.1 with the downloaded ROM from this forum. I used odin 3.04 and loaded up the BL, AP, CP, and CSC. it always failed. Well in my finite wisdom tried adding a PIT file that I found for the device and also reformat. My phone starting giving me the yellow triangle of doom. After that i read that just installing the PIT file fixes that so I did and it succeeded but now it loads up the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro powered by Android screen for a few seconds then reboots back to the same screen. I can now get to recovery mode and download mode but recovery mode says disabled on all options when selected. HALP!
Edit: In recovery mode, the bottom says, dm-verity verification failed...
At the top it says the following
Android system recovery <3e>
KTU84P.N915AUCU1ANK2
Myself if you can access Download Mode ,
Then reflash stock 5.0 because there's no way possible to backroll to 4.4.4 once yer on Lollipop
(Read the Forum it's all over)

[SM-N900] How to downgrade from 5.0/4.4.2 to 4.4.2/4.3

WARNING! THIS WILL BREAK YOUR WARRANTY! I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR BRICKS, BOOTLOOPS, ETC. IF YOU END UP HAVING A 500 DOLLAR BRICK, IT IS NOT MY FAULT AS YOU ARE THE ONE WHO DECIDED TO DO THIS PROCEDURE!!!!!!
THIS GUIDE IS FOR THE SM-N900. IF YOU TRY THIS ON ANY OTHER DEVICE, YOU WILL 99.99999% CHANCE OF BRICK!!!!(NO SM-N9005, N900V, ETC.)
Hey guys, so many of you are wondering if you can downgrade from 5.0 to 4.4.2 or from 4.4.2 to 4.3. I see many people say this is not possible, but it is!
you'll require:
A windows machine with a sensible version of windows (no windows 95, 98, etc.. )
OR
A mac that either dual boot windows and os x or running windows in a virtual machine (this is what I'm doing)
Odin - Download here
A SM-N900 device running 5.0 or 4.42
A stable internet connection
USB Debugging enabled on your device. If you don't know how to enable it, check here
Boot loader: http://www.mediafire.com/?edp1iw3qzwhtoij (Only if you're downgrading to 4.3!)
7-Zip - Download here (WinRAR WILL NOT work)
SamFirm - Download here
And last but not least....
A brain
Okay, let's get on with this.
STEP 1:
Download and install everything I listed above!
Back-up all data on your device.
Unzip SamFirm and Odin to respective folders on the desktop
Open SamFirm by double clicking on the exe
You will be greeted with the application. You now need to specify what firmware you want to download. Enter the model name as SM-N900 (All caps!). Next, you'll be prompted to enter your region. For downgrading to 4.3, enter XFU as the region. For 4.4.2, enter BTC. Don't check binary nature and select auto mode. On the right, select decrypt automatically and then press download.
The firmware will now begin downloading. Wait for the download to complete.
STEP 2 (Only if you're downgrading to 4.3! If you're downgrading to 4.4.2, go to step 4) :
Power off the device. Boot to recovery by holding home, power and volume up at the same time. Do a factory reset. Power off the device again and boot to download mode by holding the volume down, home and power buttons. You will be greeted with a warning. Press continue. Open odin and wait for odin to recognize your device. Select the BL tab and select the bootloader.tar that you downloaded. Next, go to the options tab and unselect auto reboot. Then start the flashing process. DO NOT SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER, PHONE OR UNPLUG THE DEVICE DURING THIS PROCESS!
Once the flash has completed, shut down the device and reboot to download mode.
STEP 3:
Next, take the decrypted zip you downloaded. Open the zip with 7ZIP. Extract the tar.md5 file and open that with 7ZIP. Extract the contents of the tar.md5 file. Delete the sboot.bin, then rezip. Select all the extracted files and right click. Click 7-ZIP > add to archive. Select archive type as tar and then recompress.
STEP 4: Go back to odin, and press reset. Go to the AP tab and select the new tar you just created or if you're downgrading to 4.4.2, select the tar.md5 extracted from the zip. Wait for odin to process the file. It may appear that odin has hanged. This is normal. Wait for it process the file. This time, select auto-reboot from the options tab. Then, start the flash. This flash with take a minute or two. After it finishes flashing, the device will automatically reboot. After the splash screen, it may appear that the device has hanged due to the black screen. Wait for a few seconds, and the startup animation will play as usual. At this point, you should be successfully downgraded!
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE MOBILE NETWORK OR IMEI ISSUES, THEN FLASH THIS OR THIS MODEM IN CWM OR TWRP
If this helped you, please press thanks.

How could this be adapted to work on N900t? And do you have pics to confirm that you got bootloader back to 4.3? I thought that was not possible
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 2
Sorry the n900t is a snapdragons device so it will not work
I am on kitkat right now. I upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4.2 again so I cannot 0ost the pictures. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the quick reply. But I thought it was impossible on all note 3's so it was worth finding out
Bootloader download page asks for decryption key. Please upload it to another file hosting site. Thanks. And as you have downgraded to 4.3 is the battery life better than kitkat or lollipop?

Sorry about that I updated the link. Battery life on 4.3 was good.
Followed all the instruction properly. Flashing Bootloader failed the first time as I used Odin 3.7. Flashed with Odin 3.10 and it worked. Flashing the repackaged tar file didnt work twice. It always got stuck while flashing. Then I used Peazip to repackage and it successfully flashed with Odin.
OP please upload the modem to another site as well. Am stuck without mobile network :/
Tl;dr Successfully downgraded to 4.3. Almost.

Are you sure that if I did this way and I lose the IMEI and after that I flash The Modem.
it will succeed?

Yes. I lost the IMEI at first but then i flashed the 4.3 modem and everything worked again.
Hi, I tried to do this to downgrade mi N900. I followed every step, everything work fine (supposed).
After I flashed the moded 4.3 firm (without sboot) my phone died, first time boot show something about a kernel error
Now I can't go into download mode or recovery mode.... It just says "Samsung note 3" and reboots 2 o 3 times and thats all. It doesn't even show that the battery is charging...
The steps i did ->
Downloaded Firm from sammobile -> SM-N900_XFU_1_20131129160104_fifz3b44bv
Downloaded 7 ZIP
Downloaded Bootloader.tar (From the post)
Flashed Bootloader.tar -> OK
Open firm with 7 zip, erased sboot.bin -> recompress to tar -> OK
Flashed recompressed TAR without sboot.bin -> OK
Firts boot -> Black screen with red letters saying something about a Kernel Error
Second boot -> Shows "Samsung Galaxy Note 3" (like usual) reboot, shows the samething again and reboot and then power off
I tried to go into recovery mode -> FAIL
Tried to go into download mode -> FAIL
Can anyone here help me ?

That screen is for flash external things like custom recovery, stock firmware (original), bootloader, Modem etc.
This is not for downloading with internet,
& for Odin- first you need download stock firmware of your device the from sammobile website, downloaded file is in Zip format, have to extract it first you will get 'your firmware name.tar.md5 file , install usb driver on PC, then open odin 1st, then connect mobile in download mode you should see in above column 0:[COM-] & in log you will receive 'Added' message something like this it will confirm that your mobile is connected successfully, then in Odin select PDA or AP section select your extracted tar.md5 file, wait sometime for loading tar.md5 file in odin again you will see the file is added in log section then finally you can hit start button...
Wait till receive pass message or this will reboot automatically your device.
Best luck

You are facing bootloop after flashing stock rom right? Random reboots? One question, did odin flash official stock firmware without giving any error? If yes and still you are facing radom reboots i.e.bootloop after flashing stock firmware, then just power off your phone by pressing volume down+power button..When screen will turn off, immediately press volume up+power+home button simultaneously until you see Samsung galaxy s6 logo, release keys..You are now in stock recovery, from there choose wipe data/factory reset option..After reset complete choose wipe cache..After wiping cahced data is complete reboot your phone..It will boot normally..

u10if Try flashing only the pit file ZEROFLTE_EUR_OPEN.pit. Then, after you have flashed the pit file, flash the XEF firmware the OP told you to download. I had the same problem as you, and thats what I did, and I am now back up and running and on the XEF Android 7 firmware.

Sudden random bootloops, flashed stock firmware but can't get past 32% "erasing"

Sudden random bootloops, flashed stock firmware but can't get past 32% "erasing"
Hi, how are you? I have a SM-G920F. I was using stock 7.0 firmware (I never rooted it or anything) and one day (like a month ago) it suddenly began to reboot by itself. It can be stuck in a bootloop for 2 straight days and then suddenly boot normally and use it for a couple hours until it starts bootlooping again. It was happening completely randomly.
I was told it was something to do with the motherboard but since I was not completely sure after a month of having this issue I decided to try my luck with flashing kernels/firmwares/roms, etc. I flashed TWRP, aldeon kernel, tried to flash Nemesis ROM but couldn't get past to around 20% in aroma installer, I tried the emergency recover of SmartSwitch and everything was going smoothly until it got to 32% at "Installing system update" at which point it stops with a message "erasing" and goes back to the bootloop. At this point I have access to stock recovery.
After unsuccesfully trying to flash stock 6.0.1 firmware with ODIN and reading some people having trouble to downgrade due to cm.bin and sboot.img I decided to flash stock 7.0 firmware with ODIN but after succesfully applying the update the phone reboots with the "installing system update" screen and then it gets once again to 32% and it says "erasing" after which it starts the bootloop. At this point I have no access to recovery. I read somewhere that this could be fixed by doing a factory reset after the first boot, but since I had no access to recovery I couldn't do it. Then I unzipped the .md5 with the stock firmware and replaced the recovery.img with the one from the TWRP tar file. I flashed this new "modified stock firmware with TWRP recovery" through ODIN and after succesfully passing I could enter the recovery after the first boot (without getting to the installing system update screen), I did a factory reset but after rebooting the system I was once again stuck in a bootloop.
I'm stuck with a bootlooping $500 paperweight. :crying: I'm afraid it could be something with the motherboard any help is greatly greatly greatly appreciated! :highfive:
PS: I don't know if providing the last_kmsg log would be of any help. I tried searching for some of the messages it contains but couldn't get to anything.
One day I installed BTU rom on XEF it worked for 2 days then after I updates OTA my phone rebooted and stuck on boot logo forever...I flashed XEF ROM it worked...after 2 days I lost imei I restarted and it stuck on boot loop...I flashed it with octopus box with new imei certificate it worked with different imei...I recommend to do backup for efs folder then start flashing things from there if didn't work try repair shop to flash it with a box tell him to try marshmallow and nougat and check certificate ( if you have knox down) ( if you have knox still good return it for repair where u buy it )
This is the last Samsung device for me I will never buy Samsung in my life this piece of krap devices are not that good I'll support Google devices forever

Hi! For some reason when I click "Check Update" I get the following error:
SamFirm v0.3.6.0
Could not fetch info for SM-G920F/PHN. Please verify the input or use manual info
Could you please verify it's working for you? Maybe it's because I'm trying from the PC at work and perhaps the proxy is not allowing me.
Thanks for your help!
Download latest ROM here

Thanks for your help!

After fixing my laptop I could download and install the firmware like you told me and it finally booted up! It's been 12 hours since that and I haven't experienced a single reboot. I hope it stays like this. Thanks A LOT!!
Hi I used these instructions to get my phone back up and going. I had Rooted it and it was fine when I tried to turn it on this morning all I got was the blue LED lit up and nothing. So I just wanted to say thank you.
Mike
After one week without a single reboot I've had like 4 or 5 in the past two days. It's still usable but I'm afraid it could get worse.
