Your absolute fave app

What is your absolute favorite application/game? The one you just cannot live without. I am excepting to see a lot of mainstream apps being called out, so to go along with that question, what is your favorite non mainstream app/game?
My fave mainstream app would have to be Facebook (lots of friends from england)
My fave non mainstream app would have to be SwingGame
I am hoping that we will all be able to find some apps that we have never heard of before through this thread.
Netflix and before that came I would say YouTube app impressed me.

Reddita. I don't think I've ever wasted more time in my life than the period of AR (after reddita).
gReader. Looks, feels and works great
Pulse. Never have I wasted so much time during work cause of this app. Best RSS reader!

I agree. Pulse is really quite amazing. The UI is beautiful
Pulse. Great app.
I would have to agree with Pulse as well. Was recently introduced to this app and absolutely love it.
+ on pulse. Save sooo much time with it.
Multipicture live wallpaper.
1- because I was going out of my mind when honeycomb cropped my pics
2- runs great with adw ex
Feedly :
Love it the away it allows me the add the feeds, read the same feeds on my phone and on the tablet , and also on my desktop (Firefox addon).
Beautiful interface on both android and desktop. Another nice feature is the suggestions of other feeds that I would like. Stopped using pulse once I found Feedly
The browser is my fav. Its the one app I couldn't live without.

I'm greedy, I have two ~ Evernote & Dropbox
Both serve me exceptionally well on all my devices; allowing data to be shared simple and easy.
Evernote: Totally useful - not a timewaster - your information available transparently on every device you own, simply awesome.
It used to be Pulse, until I found News360.
Honestly though, the browser gets 99% of the usage on my tablet. I use the default browser cause I;m a chrome user on PC and having synced bookmarks is a necessity. Opera Mobile would be great if I could add more than 9 speed dial buttons
If I may ask my own question about "Your absolute favorite app"
What is your favorite sports app?
I'm trying to find a good one for tablet. All the amazing sports apps, Score Mobile, Fox etc suck for the tablet... they wont even go into landscape mode!
For those who use Pulse, try out Taptu, its very similar but somehow cleaner and faster in my opinion. (news 360 is awesome though.)
But my favorite app is... either Dropbox or Youtube
I love Pulse.
Can't help but think that if you could hide the window which slides out from the left when you click a story by sliding it back, instead of hitting the back button it would be so much better.
Going to d/l Taptu & check it out as well. Cheers for the suggestion

For all of the folks that like Pulse - Check out News Republic - it's a really nice (and free) news app (I like it better than Pulse)!

Besides the browser and Facebook (Friendcaster for tablets) the app I keep coming back and spending lots of time in is Age of Zombies. The Survival mode is addicting. It's the only game I've found on the Android Market that I keep coming back to play. Everything else I get bored of after 5-10 minutes.
Still can't replace console gaming though.
Have to agree with Pulse. Its just so clean and epic...and epic.

[APP][1.6+][BETA] Kid Launcher

Here is the beta release for an app I made that will let you display only specific programs in an app drawer format. This is a home screen replacement, that will automatically deactivate itself on ext. This is to keep little kids out of apps they shouldn't be in.
The next release will explicitly block all apps that have not been selected. This is to prevent a notification coming in and the kid pulling down the notification bar and launching other apps that way.
Please give feedback either in this forum or through the app. I will be releasing a paid version after I work out some more kinks, and anyone who has downloaded the beta will get a free copy of the paid version.
Thanks for your feedback.
*******UPDATE December 8 Updated the attached apk to the latest Beta build. (1.1)
Will test.
We published the Beta in the Android market. You can find it in the original post too. This beta will work without restrictions until January 15.
We cleaned it up a lot since the last post, and we haven't found a device yet that it won't work on. Please give feedback.
This is by far the best kid launcher I have found. I will gladly pay for this app when it is released. Will there be any features to change the background?
Why does the Zoodles Kid Mode not appear in the selected apps under settings?
A big thanks to the developer...
Is there any way to change the background "wall paper" image in this launcher? It works great, but I'd like to personalize it a bit for my son.
we will make sure the custom wallpaper gets put into the final version. Also there seems to be an issue on some phones not coming back out of airplane mode automatically. Has anyone noticed this?
Thanks for the feedback guys
Are you still working on this?
Yes, we are still supporting this. The app came out of beta last week, and is now on the market. Please let me know if you guys would like any enhancements to the app.

[REF]Must Have apps....

At first big thnx to Superace69 for this...
And me too..For posting this....
This is a list of recommended apps to make your Android experience an awesome one.
The apps that work under the hood like the rom and ram script are for Galaxy FIT. Afterwards, everything else works for every phone.
I'll be adding apps over time so keep on coming back and checking!
I feel like the FIT has a lot of apps and themes to choose from. Here is a list of the apps I believe are epicly awesome.
What's a phone without space and some right app management? For that, I recommend s2e. It moves all the Dalvik Cache to the SD card. When I first installed it, it freed up 92MB of internal memory that I didn't knew what getting used up.
S2E: https://play.google.com/details?i...aWt1bi5zMmUiXQ..
A pretty good ram manager for any phone would be Ram Manager. It keeps your phone running smoothly and worry free.
Ram Manager:https://market.android.com/details?i...dGlvbkZyZWUiXQ..
For backups and more app management, I highly recommend Titanium Backup. One of the best apps out there hands down. You can batch move all your apps to SD, back up all your apps and system data or just apps if you like. Its so epic, it even backs up all the data on a game. Since I like to switch things a lot on my phone, I use a lot of back ups and Titanium always has me covered.
Titanium Backup https://market.android.com/details?i...dW1CYWNrdXAiXQ..
Now for themes; I highly recommend the ICS theme from AChep. This theme completely spices up your phone to the newest and fancy ICS. It changes up everything. Its the BEST ICS theme you'll find out there.
ICS Theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1313722
For some really awesome ICS live wallpapers, here are some epic ones;
ICS Phase Beam Live Wallpaper: https://market.android.com/details?i...NzaWMubGl0ZSJd
And Ice Cream Sandwich Live WP: https://market.android.com/details?i...BhcGVyLnBybyJd
The second one is a paid app but its really worth the money.
Anyway if you want more kickass themes, check out this post! They rock
More Themes!:http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/1...hooser-themes/
Afterwards, I present to you the awesome Roboto Font. They new font looks really cool and a different font gives a whole new feel to your phone. To install it, you must first install Font Changer, extract the font and put it in the Font Changer folder in the SD.
Roboto Font: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1309621
Font Changer: https://market.android.com/details?i...FuZ2VybGl0ZSJd
Next up is an awesome add-on. It gives your status bar a whole new makeover with the ICS style. This add-on also hooks up your phone with the ICS transitions. In my case they're really fast and work wonderfully. Another epic piece of work from CM7.2's dev.
[ANIMATION][STATUS BAR] ICS for CM7.2 by J.A.F. :http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1360899
To mess with your system files or just check out whats inside your SD, I recommend Root explorer or ES file explorer. Whichever one fits your taste.
Here's another ICS look changer! Themes your lock screen to the ICS style! Just flash it and everything will be fine.
ICS Lockscreen:http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...70&postcount=1
Root Explorer: https://market.android.com/details?i...RleHBsb3JlciJd
ES File explorer: https://market.android.com/details?i...HJvaWQucG9wIl0.
Now if you want to get rid of all of those ads (Or mostly) I present to you AdFree. This app blocks out most ads from getting to your device.
AdFree: https://market.android.com/details?i...ZC5hZGZyZWUiXQ..
Now, what's an FIT with a whole bunch of customization but still with the same old bootanimation? Here's where this thread comes in handy; its one of the largest repositories of bootanimations. Pick one that suits your taste and enjoy!
Bootanimations: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20634060/Android-Hilfe/bootanimation_bios/download.html
If you like cloud storage; DropBox is what I recommend. The simple UI makes everything really easy to use. If you don't feel like going through the hassle of connecting your phone via USB just to pass a simple file, you can always DropBox it through your PC and download it to your phone. (Lazy, I know )
DropBox: https://market.android.com/details?i...LmFuZHJvaWQiXQ..
Here's the best notepad ever. The only issue I have with it is that you can't set it as a sticky note widget. But besides that, it does EVERYTHING you can possibly think of.
Evernote:https://market.android.com/details?i...5ldmVybm90ZSJd
The stock gallery app is kind of slow and sluggish sometimes so here's a little something to speed up your picture viewing experience.
Quick Pic: https://market.android.com/details?i...GljRm9sZGVyIl0.
Need some help in math class? Here's a scientific calculator to make things a little easier!
RealCalc: https://market.android.com/details?i...5SZWFsQ2FsYyJd
Now for web browsing... There's a whole bunch of browsers out there and I can honestly say I've tried them all except one I didn't download because I had the mini version already. Turns out that one that I didn't try was actually the best one. I'm talking about Opera. Opera is smooth, slick and speedy as hell. Its got decent features to use. If you want a max customizable browser, go for Dolphin HD.
Opera Browser: https://market.android.com/details?i...LmJyb3dzZXIiXQ..
Dolphin HD: https://market.android.com/details?i...nlCcm93c2VyIl0.
A new browser has been discovered. Its fast and the UI looks really good. Its called Nineski Browser.
Ninoski Browser:https://market.android.com/details?i...LmJyb3dzZXIiXQ..
For music, I really like Power AMP. The UI is very cool and it has a couple of themes you can use to switch it up a bit. The equalizer is pretty good too and it has some customization that could change up the way you listen to music on your phone. It offers a 15 day trial and then you have to buy the app. Its another one thats really worth the money.
Power Amp: https://market.android.com/details?i...aW9wbGF5ZXIiXQ..
If you like to keep an eye on what your usage is, whether its data, calls or sms; Traffic counter is the one for you. It counts every single MB of data that enters or exits your phone and is pretty accurate.
Traffic Counter: https://market.android.com/details?i...WNjb3VudGVyIl0.
Here's another counter. This one details everything you can possibly know about your battery!
Battery Monitor Widget:https://market.android.com/details?i...2NjNzEuYm13Il0.
Now this next one will make your life A LOT easier. This next app can make a widget of almost ANYTHING you can think of in your phone. Its called Widgetsoid and it works wonders.
Widgetsoid: https://market.android.com/details?i...mNvbS5qaW0yIl0.
There are a lot of people having the "Insufficient storage available" problem when downloading apps through market, Here's a fix:
MarketFix:https://market.android.com/details?i...1hcmtldGZpeCJd
Here is another beastly app that EVERY ROOT/CUSTOM ROM USER MUST HAVE.Which ever one fits you. Point is, you need to have it.
ROM Toolbox:https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result
I never thought I'd put this app in here because of all the flaws but they finally fixed it. Facebook 1.8.0. The update is completely in sync with the web version and everything just simply works wonderfully.
Facebook:https://market.android.com/details?i...9rLmthdGFuYSJd
And well, if Facebook doesn't work for you, here's a complete (and better in my opinion) replacement!
Friendcaster:https://market.android.com/details?i...3RpZnlGcmVlIl0.
This next app speeds up the reading and writing speed of your SD card for less waiting time. If you're like me that waits an eternity for the SD to get scanned at boot, wait no more and install this!
SD-Booster:https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result

I personally like having a loud phone. But since our FIT's speaker is a little too low, I fix that up with Volume+. Works wonders. There's a free and paid version. The paid lets you set your volume higher. Here's the link:
Volume+:https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...cm9pZC5sdmgiXQ..

Astro:https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=search_result
This next one is one I found out about recently since I didn't like the dialer of a rom I was using. Afterwards, it became my replacement dialer for every rom I use xD. Here's exDialer. Has some pretty cool themes too.
exDialer:https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=search_result

REMOVE BLN! it wont work with our model because we dont have an LED in soft buttons like ACE.
Good list, but needs screenshots for users like me who are too lazy to manually check on each link to view the app. imo.
I double agree on Titanium, Quick Pic, all the ICS links, and Drop box.
Although, I prefer Dolphin HD over Opera.

Here is another app I've been using for a while. and wanted to share with you. As you know, samsung used to include a popup browser in previous Note versions but no longer includes it in later versions. This app does provide an alternative Popup Browser using the stock browser. So basically, when you open a link for example in twitter app, you choose Popup Browser and it will launch the stock browser in a popup window with the requested web link. As simple as that. Future versions might include a selection of browsers but for now the stock browser will do the job.
Just install the app. There is no launcher icon but when you open a web link from third-party apps, you will see Popup Browser as one of the options. Just select it and keep browsing.
NOTE: This app does not have the INTERNET permission nor does it have ADS or analtytics so your browsing privacy is maintained.

[APP][1.0] Go Home Screen > Go To Launchers Home Screen By Turning Upside down

INTRODUCING "Go To Home Screen' For Android.
How often it happens when you're in a class, messaging or using your favorites apps and someone just tries to poke into your mobile's screen! That's annoying.
We're proud to launch a VERY simple yet a VERY powerful Android Application that makes your phone go to home screen, just by turning your phone upside down or waving against the proximity sensor in a blink of an eye!
heart emoticon
Don't forget to leave your positive reviews (5 Stars) as it helps a lot for the app to grow.
Hope the app helps you out
WHEN TO USE
Say you're in school/office. Someone just turns up and you don't want him/her to see what app you were in, you can just turn over your phone and it would take the phone's launcher to home screen.
This helps you as you don't have to hit the home button of your phone, as people would know that you just tried to hide something. Turning over the phone is stealthy.
WHICH PHONES ARE SUPPORTED?
Any android phones that have proximity sensors.
KEY FEATURES
• Proximity Sensor: Go to home screen of the launcher when turning over your phone on desk or by covering the proximity sensor.
• Notification: Notify to have a time record as to when the app was flipped over.
• Scheduling: Set schedule to turn on/off Go Home Screen. You can set it on when in school or office hours.
BATTERY USAGE
It should be not significant. I experienced about 1-2 per cent extra consumption on the test device.
UNINSTALL
Can be uninstalled just like another android application.

Haha thanks a bunch brother! That's a valid point there Sometimes you just wish to pretend that you're not using the phone, specially in classes xD Just by putting down your phone on the table could do the job Thank for the feedback. Your reply has defitenly made me think to reconsider my tag line (Which is in fact not to repel the bullies but is in fact to minimize the steps to reach out the home screen in tricky situations.)
A promo video is coming out soon. Would love to portray the core idea behind.

In the case of bullies it'd be a good idea to have a discreet way to activate the camera to record them. Flipping the phone over would be perfect..
It's about time someone made an app to combat bullying but it needs a direct approach. There's no better way to catch a bully than on camera.
Everyone at some point in there life becomes a victim of bullying whether they realise it or not but as soon as they realise they always wish they had recorded it.. But how do you record a bully without them realising it? Simple.. Turn the phone over and it starts recording!.
How many times has your boss treated you bad and you needed evidence to prove it?. Bullies at school, police abusing their uniform.. The list could go on.
Regardless of whether it catches audio or video, evidence is a conviction.
