Hello guys,
I got a second hand J3 (J330FN) and I'm trying to flash TWPR in download mode, But i keep getting the FRP lock come up (Not at boot but when i try to flash something)
My understanding is without the person who owned the phone before me logging in (so they can remove the lock) I cant get access to flashing?
So; can i just flash the firmware after a wipe of the cache and factory reset as I've seen described on other forums / videos?
Edit; OEM is already ticked

If oem_,unlock is already enabled then you are likely rmm locked. If you see RMM Prenormal in download mode you will need to wait 7 days until you can flash anything.
Thanks for reply. So I had more problems with this phone. I've managed to flash the TWPR but now boot loops, wiped everything in the hope that it would at least wipe (First few times I just got errors)... so now i have a phone with TWRP on it and no custom roms to install?
I've got an A3 running lineageOS 15.1.... was hoping I could use the same rom but I'm currently unable to find a source.
I've tried flashing the custom rom back from sammobile but It copies something and then resets. nothing comes up on the screen, but its back lit.

Confused. Why did you wipe your rom?
because it was erroring when I was trying to wipe cache so I thought it wouldnt work, but it did.... Have I broke it?

Which error?
I dont know. I cant remember, was red, Thought it wouldn't make a difference if I could flash another rom because it would just fill up where the old rom was.
Is there a reason I wouldn't be able to flash the stock rom back tho? Then I can start again....
I tried the CSC file not the CSC_Home and its been stuck like this for like 15 mins

Attempted to follow the guide here on my old Infuse to breathe some life back into it, but I can't get it to work. Installed the drivers through Kies, Odin detects my phone in yellow. I follow the guide to the letter, but after flashing 'reset' in blue and getting the green 'pass' my phone simply doesn't reboot, nor can I boot it manually. I've removed the battery a few times and it doesn't change the situation. I can still boot into download mode with no issue and have tried flashing a few times, but I'm having no success booting the phone after Odin is done, nor can I get into recovery mode.

I never tried this flash before, but I do have a couple questions before proceeding...
Is your phone AT&T or Rogers?
Are you able to get back into download mode (that is, by method of device fully turned off, holding down both Volume Buttons and inserting the USB cable)?

AT&T, the model is I997. I can still get into download mode, but I can't boot normally, nor into recovery mode (by holding volume up + volume down + power button; Samsung logo never appears). I used the included version of Odin with both the UCLB3_Unbrick_1.1.zip and UCLB3_Unbrick_root_1.1.zip files on the linked thread (I tried both).

I always recommend this one for AT&T (could never try it myself, as I was a Rogers user), but you may have more luck with this (option A or D).

Tried this a few times and it keeps failing. It'll get about 1/3 of the way there and then my computer will make the 'device disconnected' noise and Odin will fail. I left it in download mode, plugged in, without attempting the download to see if it was an issue with my cable or port, and it didn't disconnect...it seems to only be happening when I attempt to flash the md5.

For some reason option D is taking an unreasonable amount of time to download (it's been over an hour now), so I had initially skipped it and tried options A and C, with the same results. I'll report back once I am actually able to get option D downloaded.
Same problem with every option. Progress reaches about halfway, then fails.

Good evening,
Try my mirror:

Options are limited, only "Option C" but it should be enough to get the job done.
Cheers.
I factory reset my Samsung Grand 2 then charged it. When I saw my phone it was updated in kitkat. I accidentally hit the install and reboot. But after that, it stuck in logo screen. I've tried to wipe data, cache and everything. So, I flash it with odin with correct latest firmware. But it keeps on failing and appears firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. Ive tried to fix it with Kies but there's no chance. I also brought it to service center but they said it keeps on failing and the program cant enter.

See if you have the proper firmware and read the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/general/stock-firmware-grand-2-google-drive-t2849501
Or else you could ask help from anyone having a similar phone in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2
I tried the instruction but it didn't work still failed. I also tried to flash it with original stock but it says SW REV CHECK FAIL : [sbl1]Fused 1 > Binary 0
Im losing hope. Please help :crying: :crying:

Just tried to flash my SM-G920X It's a demo version of the S6.
( No calling. I'm ok with this it's not my problem)
Because it had the retail mode software installed that is a nuisance. I tried to flash over it many times. The retail mode locks the bootloader and can't be removed, its an administrator. wiping with android device manager just returns to stock+retailmode. retailmode documentation now says it can never be removed.
recovery mode wipe is forbidden.
cfautoroot and twrp both fail - its the retailmode lock
I tried flashing with G920FXXU1AOE3_G920FXEU1AODQ_XEU.zip with the *Phone bootloader update* ticked. It's a full unbranded rom from sammobile. It should have a bootloader?
It replaced the bootloader!!!!
Then hung. reboot phone.
"An error has occurred while updating device software. Use Emergency recovery function in Smart Switch PC software."
I can't. it demands a code from the programs last try when the update failed. Or you can try to use the sim registration serial number online check. But I no have sim! It's not registered. (it is not stolen I've already had a back and forth with samsung email serial number check. I got it from ebay)
Cannot power off! stuck on either download mode or emergency warning. Both bright blue/green whole screen. left it plugged in last night so it didn't drain the battery flat. Was very very hot this morning. I put it in the freezer for half an hour.
Think I can still use odin. It says added. I can still get it into download mode.
Just need to totally reflash the thing. But with what???
when I try to reflash bootloader I get...

Holy ****! There is something very wrong with the way odin deals with these things.
I just copied out the recovery.img file from the stock rom I've been trying to flash. Copied it over the one in here twrp-2.8.6.0-zeroflte.img.tar as suggested by this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/solved-stuck-download-mode-failed-odin-t3104736/page2

me facing almost same situation, I want to remove demo crap from it, so I just root it as my first step but now phone is hang on Galaxy S6 live demo unit, I try to flash your recovery but I was not much lucky so please can you give some tips to solve issue, thanks
Hello,
A bit of back story first - yesterday, my mother's Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) suddenly rebooted to the device's logo screen ( the "Samsung Galaxy S6....powered by android" one) and it's been stuck there since. There had been no "tinkering" so to say with the device; debugging was disabled, the bootloader had not been tampered with at all, and all the updates were done through the official android route. The last major update was around a month ago, to Nougat from MM, after which I cleared the cache. The latest update was about 10 days ago, a minor Nougat one, but the cache had not been wiped.
Now down to business. The phone does not turn off at all. Holding the power button and the volume down just reboots it to the same screen. That being such, I cannot access recovery mode. I can however access Download Mode which makes be believe that all hope is not lost.
Using Odin, I attempted to flash a stock ROM, which for this model was Android v5.1.1, and now I understand why that wouldn't work. At this point instead of the logo screen, it showed a blue screen saying something along the lines of "An error has occurred while updating your phone, please use Smart Switch emergency recovery". I had tried to connect to smart switch before but it wouldn't recognize the device. I was saving initialization as a last resort.
I then flashed the most recent MM ROM for this model (which I found on sammmobile) using Odin, having read it was possible to still downgrade, and believing that perhaps Nougat was causing this problem. And it was successful, except the phone now returned to the logo screen. Again, with the same problems as before. And I still couldn't wipe the data and cache because I still couldn't access recovery mode.
Finally I connected the phone to Smart Switch and chose to initialize it. After going through all the steps, and downloading the files, it said it was successful but the phone is still stuck at the damn logo screen. I can still access download mode for what it's worth but I haven't a clue now as to what I should do next.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Download and run this;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841&d=1467715462
When you open the program, type the values given here;
Model: SM-G920F
Region: PHN
Auto: Selected
Manual: Unselected
Binary Nature: Selected
Check CRC32: Selected
Decrypt automatically: Selected
When you write and select options given above, press "Check Update" and then press "Download" to download factory firmware for your device.
Once the download has been finished, extract the zip file that you've downloaded via SamFirm.
After unzip it, download and run this Odin (even if you have another one);
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3804544&d=1467772303
When you open it, press BL and select file which starts with BL from downloaded (from Samfirm) and extacted zip folder.
Do the same thing for AP, CP, CSC.
When you set 4 files to Odin, connect your phone to your PC in download mode and click "Start" on Odin.
If this method doesn't fix you issue, you have to replace the motherboard then.
no luck

thank you so much for your answer but it does not seem to have worked. I did everything as instructed but I'm not quite sure as to why this is happening exactly. This is the log from Odin, maybe it'll help:

It appears to have loaded successfully but it is still stuck at the logo screen. Could you please explain why this not working would mean I would have to replace the motherboard? Thank you once again
(also I'm running Odin with only "Auto Reboot" and "F.Reset Time" ticked, don't know if that will help)

Odin log says that there's no problem.
The produce I've wrote above is the last think you can do on new Samsung devices.

Do you have any idea what could have caused this issue? Would changing the motherboard be guaranteed to fix this and if so, how?

Replacing motherboard will not help You unless You have a way to program EFS and IMEI information to it.
my tablet shows encryption failed message, reset phone but nothing happend when i click on reset button, moreover i tried going to the wipe data/factory reset option but my tablet wont allow me to go that menu, it simply restarts the device.
anyways i read that i should try and install a new firmware for my device but i did try using many odin versions and different firmwares, this is what odin shows me:-
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..

<OSM> N8000XXUDNE5_N8000OLBDNE3_N8000DXUDND1_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
