I do not care too much about Knox, Samsung Pay and OTA updates.
Would camera or some other hardware became useless if DRM key is lost like in Sony Xperia mobiles?

Confused on which rooting guide to follow

So I'm pretty confused there is a lot of information out there and it's conflicting one another in my view. I want to achieve root on my stock rom and possibly be able to flash custom roms. My situation is I have the Sony Xperia E3 D2206 model with stock android 4.4.2 and when I punch in the code it says that my bootloader is not unlockable. I have installed flashtool and drivers and tried the "BLU" button and it says it cannot unlock my bootloader.
From my understanding I can still somehow root this phone, can somebody point me to which guide I should follow for my phone?
Thank you.
Can someone weigh in, I'm sitting here a long time with my phone in hand.

Can all versions of Xperia Z5 be rooted?

I'm going to buy a used Xperia Z5. To confirm, can ALL VERSIONS be rooted and have a custom recovery (such as TWRP) installed on them? It would be E6653 but not sure which country it is made in or designed for.
before buying just check for bootloader status by typing in the dialer app
*#*#service#*#* > Service info> Configuration
In this section it should be like this under
Rooting Status:
Booloader unlock allowed : yes
if its like that then you are good to go.

What exactly is this? Does this make it easier to flash custom ROMs? I wouldn't mind having a new kernel that increased the volume of the speakers...

Yeah I've read that but the XZs and XZ premium are still
not in the unlock bootloader list. So i can't unlock bootloader

You've been able to unlock from the start.
Just select XZ, same with XZS.

But that is only for the H8216 (single sim) and H8296 (dualsim) 6GB - there is no build for H8266 (dualsim) yet xD
This wouldn't need a drm fix?
This also switches the Rom from xperia to pure AOSP?
Without the special features of the XZ working?
Not yet working for my best buy bought h8266. Says phone not supported.
My Xperia H8266 is also not supported...yet or never?

It was unlocked but just checked and now it is. If that's the case regarding testing out Android P then that sucks.

The disclaimer in developer site says branded phones aren't supported. But can't you just flash another region's ftf to debrand yours? Does xflasher support XZ2?

S6 KNOX Tripped - New Firmware

Hi all,
I tried to flash a new firmware to my S6 but got a message stating KNOX Tripped. I took it into the Samsung store and the couldn't flash a new firmware. I've emailed a phone repair company explaining my situation they said they could flash a new firmware with the KNOX Tripped message. Is this true? Why couldn't Samsung do it?
Thanks, Kristof
