Rooting South African Androids - General Questions and Answers

I am a digital/mobile forensics student - and need to root a few devices ...
Samsung J2 SM-G532F - G532FXXU1ARF3 (Baseband Version) G532FXWU1ARH2 (Build) - 6.0.1
G532FXWU1AQG4 (original build)
Samsung J2 SM-J250F - J250FXXU2ARL2 (Baseband Version) J250FXXU2ARL1 (Build) -7.1.1.
Vodafone VFD 1100 - MOLY.WR8.W1449.MD.WG.MP.V41.P4.T3 (Baseband) 18001 (Build) 6.0.0.
so far I have managed to softbrick both samsungs and have flashed both of them - thus wiping all relevant data and evidence ( a resume generating event) and still havent managed to root either phone -
I have attempted to use Magisk, Wondershare, CF-Auto Root, oneclickroot, KingoRoot and Twrp - all of the above have said that they do not have custom root kits for my baseband version - I really do not know what to do now - if anybody is able to assist me I would very much appreciate it.
I now desperately have to root all devices to attempt to recover deleted data.
I am not prepared to try anything unsafe with the vodafone as yet because of what happened with the samsungs.

Root Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930W8 Exynos)

Hello everyone,
I just got my new S7 from Telus and my goal now is:
Root the phone
Install a clean stock ROM (bloatware-free)
Now I've been reading a bit but I'm a little unsure whether I'm looking at the best solution out there, or even if I'm on the right track.
These are the 2 options that I'm leaning towards following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/recovery-official-twrp-herolte-t3333770
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/sm-g930-exynos-cf-auto-root-t3337353
Can you tell me if the TWRP route is the best to follow?
Also, I can't seem to find a Stock ROM, can you point me to the right one for my phone? (Sorry, my searching and Googling skills needs an upgrade.)
Installing twrp wipes the phone, so you lose everything. If you install cfroot first on the other hand, you can backup your stuff with titanium backup and other apps and then install twrp and restore your apps at the end.

I'm ok with the wipe as I just got the phone today so I have nothing important there.
So would you suggest that I use TWRP over cfroot?
--Also, do you know where the right stock ROM is? I still can't find one.-- Oops, sorry I thought the link you have was part of your signature. I got my ROM now, taking a long time to download though. Haha.
Is there another download location I can use? I messed up the slow download and now I have to wait a long time just to start over with the slow download.
TWRP install does not wipe the phone. If you want to use TWRP to backup/restore data you have to format data (which does wipe the phone), because TWRP does not support the samsung encryption yet (no timeframe for this).
You could still use TWRP to install stuff on /system.
I would go cfroot and flashfire.
quick question here: I've got 930w8 from Bell (Canadian version). on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ I Cannot see CF-auto-root root for W8 version.
Is it safe to guess that auto-root for 930f (exynos) will do the trick?

You can use Cf Auto root for G930F, is working
Hello!
Just wondering if this CF Root will work to root my device still?
It's April 4, 2017, so this thread is really old.
I've gathered that I can use CF-Auto Root G930F and have that downloaded..
I got my phone from Virgin and live in Canada
It's a Samsung Galaxy S7
Model Number : SM-G930W8 (LU2BQB6)
Android Version : 7.0
I'm trying to spoof Pokemon GO haha, and apparently I need to move some apps to a system folder or something.
First thing first though, figure out how to root.
Quite frankly, I'd be willing to send someone a couple bucks via paypal for any assistance at all.
I can tell you that cf autoroot for international model works on android 6.0.1, not sure if will do the job on android 7

Need Help, At & T galaxy s6

Hello there, i just purchased a second hand At & t network unlocked galaxy s6 and want to root and install custom rom like noble rom etc in it because i am tired of At & t bloatware. so i want to know that how i can install it? is there any issues of bootloader locked etc? currently i am on lollipop 5.1.1 and software is up to date.... in odin menu it says
system status: custom
Reactivation lock: Off
knox warranty: 0 (0*0000)
I want a summarized instructions which i couldn't find anywhere else... so posted here.. urgent help is much appreciated
AFAIK, the AT&T variant (920A) has a locked bootloader and therefore you cannot install a custom recovery image (like TWRP) to traditionally install custom ROMs. You may be able to install a ROM via Flashfire once you root via Pingpong, as folks in the Xstre ROM thread have reported they could indeed install that ROM (provided you're already on MM and have the MM bootloader/radio on the phone). I actually just returned a 920A for a 920I for this exact reason.
You may also find success in the "Samsung Debloater" tool, search for that - I used this on an AT&T Note 4 about a year ago and it worked well to disable the carrier bloat.

Used S6 and have no idea how to root

I've researched multiple rooting tutorials and have found a lot of guides based on the auto-root file from www(.)autoroot.chainfire(.)eu
However, I still do not know what to do with this. From my research I found out that there is a possibility that the bootloader is locked and that is the reason I am scared, if I brick this phone I will not have a phone for another 2 years. If I flash a new clear android 7.0.0 stock for the S6 without the O2 addon bloatware with the bootloader locked it will brick my phone since this is some sort of security feature.
What I want from my S6:
- VERY good security, I will be banking on it alot, using android pay, etc so I need it to basically be hack-proof etc. Im not going to install apps like lucky patcher which are not from the play store.
- A new clean stock version of Android 7.0.0 without so many O2 apps that I cannot uninstall.
- Root access to remove certain system services and increase my battery life
I am a previous root user, 1 year ago being on my rooted S3 which I rooted using KingoRoot with one click. Now I come back year later to a new phone 3 generations down with things like the locked bootloader and KNOX. Could anyone explain what I can do at this point?
Phone specification essentials:
Name: Samsung Galaxy S6 O2/EU
Model Number: SM-G920F
Build Number: G920FXXU5EQE5
Android Version: 7.0
Knox Version: 2.7.1
The device still has a simlock, and I was told that the sim lock is installed in the ROM. So if I were to flash Im assuming the simlock would be removed however I still have a pending order for the unlock code coming in 7 days.
Try with a TWRP and a Magisk' - SuperSU it's a will be less-stable for now' (Seriously who are be use at This for now?)
Addition advantage it's a doesn't Permissives of a Magisk (Still "Enforced")

Is it still possible to root my Samsung Galaxy J7?

Hello! I'm trying to root my phone and I am at a loss. I am pretty new to this. So, not surprisingly I soft-bricked my phone but luckily I was able to restore everything with Smart Switch but I read about how updates can prevent rooting. I've tried a variety of guides but I keep wondering if it is even possible to do at all as I keep seeing comments about how some phones are not able to root at all.
Phone Information:
• Name device: Galaxy J7 (2016)
• Model number: SM-J710FN
• Android version: 6.0.1
• Build number: MMB29K.J710FXXU3AQF8
What I have tried so far:
• This XDA guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/how-to/root-galaxy-j7-sm-j710fn-root-t3448389 (UNAVAILABLE)
• KingoRoot
• KingRoot
• OneClickRoot
• Dr. fone
• TWRP recovery (which gives /Data error no matter what file system I change to in Advanced Wipe. It does work but the phone keeps bootlooping after)
Unfortunately the video with the guide on XDA doesn't work. Does that mean it is outdated? Should I maybe flash the firmware back to the original (before update)? Or is it entirely impossible? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Rooting Android Samsung SM-G532F

:crying::crying::crying:
I am desperately trying to root an android SM G532F - It has been a nightmare.
I have tried everything - Magisk, TWRP, CF auto root, 1clickroot, Wondershare and kingoroot.
I have done so much research and it just hasnt worked.
Magisk, twrp and wondershare arent compatible, CF autoroot failed.
The first time I attempted to root my phone, I managed to flash it but it didn't root, and all it did was wipe my entire phone, then I flashed it with root-and-boot and the software I downloaded locked my phone and asked for a password. So I reflashed and managed to unbrick it but i still havent been able to root it.
I live in south africa and our builds arent popular for oneclickrooting apps or an development apps .
If anyone is able to help me I would really appreciate it.
