[APP][GAMES][4.0+] Space Shooter, Number Game & Weight Tracker all made with Tasker
The past month I got a little into Tasker and all the possiblities. And it escalated quickly - going from proof of concept to working/nice looking Apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.malte.ninegame - Nine - a number game (Play Store link with short video teaser making it look a little more fun than it might actually be.)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.malte.space101 - A simple Space Shooter (Play Store link with short video demo - showing the gameplay.)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.malte.watchyourweight - Weight Tracker (I really like this one as it shows you graphs and a little statistic and I use it every day. Also you can make all entries using only the Notification bar. Also import/export functionality. Short demo at Play Store site.)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.malte.cliffheighttimer - Height Measure Stopwatch
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.malte.ldt - Lightning/Thunderstorm Distance Measure Stopwatch
But after all those fun little project there are questions I keep coming back to:
Wouldn't I learn way more making these things with Java in Android Studio?
How much harder is it to make those things with Java (I once had a intro class in Java and know some C#, PHP, Javascript). I once made one of the tutorial note taking apps from the developer site - but although the logic might be quite simple the programming didn't feel too intuitive - might be a lack of understanding on my site though.
Each of the apps above took me about 1-2 days from start to finish (graphics, videos, programming). Does it take longer to make them with Android Studio?
Although they look good - I don't think of them as real Android Apps. Especially as they don't feel too responsive.
Would love some feedback a) on the Apps or b) what should be my next move if I wanted to make a real Java App? (Can you recommend an immersive progamming school - just finished university and am willing to pay for something I really enjoy? I would love to have some people around with the same passion. Or maybe a single developer that would want to maybe mentor me?)

[APP][4.0+] Shuffle My Life 1.7 (Vanquish boredom with random activities)

Hey,
This is my first major app I've produced by myself - it's called Shuffle My Life, and it generates random activities for you to do depending on where you are, what time it is, the weather conditions, and so on. For example, if you're near a park, there'll be outdoor activities. If it's after 10pm, you tend to get media-based activities like news, new music discovery, and so on.
It's currently in beta and being heavily developed, so I'm looking for feedback and ideas for where to take this in the future!
PS - here's some info about the permissions used:
Location - used to determine what places are near to you, to feed Google Places API (e.g. are you near a bakery? a restaurant? a park?) - Location is only stored on the local device, so if you delete the app, the data goes with it. You don’t need to use the app with location if you don’t want to.
File storage read/write - To be able to save images/videos you’ve taken with some tasks (this is upcoming for an expanded sharing functionality)
Find/use accounts - used for Google Play Games
WiFi connection and disconnection/network access - This can probably be removed, it was a relic from when the built in web browser needed to check if you were on WiFi before automatically loading a page (it now always prompts before loading a page).
Control vibration - For some fun feedback when completing tasks
Some ideas for the future:
- Localization and better support for other currencies
- Lots more tasks
- Some multiplayer element
- Better task submission system
I'm hoping I can take this idea and run with it, expanding it as I go - but I wanted your feedback first! Thanks for checking it out!
Oh, and the Play Store link is here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gadsby.shufflemylife
I like the idea but I think users need more info (may be more screenshots) about app.
Is it global? What about preferences? Why isn't it in Play Store?
It is in the Play Store, but I'm a new user so can't post direct links yet - I'll update it when I can!
It's not localized, if that's what you mean? The app should work anywhere in the world, though currency (I.e. the estimated time it takes to complete a task) is in dollars only at the moment. I'll add an automatic conversion at some point!
I'll add a couple more screenshots, good idea!
I just updated the app with a few fixes, including the ability to opt out of Google Play Games, faster loading times, a new splash screen, and crash bugs resolved. Any other thoughts?

[APP][4.1+]LaunchBox - a space launch schedule app

Hey there!
Two friends of mine and I developed a little app - LaunchBox. With LaunchBox you have an overview of all the upcoming space launches, mission info and times (choose between UTC and your local time). You can enable notifications for a single launch or for all of a specific rocket type. So you will never miss a launch again! Of course, a link to a video stream is also included (if available). The app is free and without ads, it's just a little gift from space fans to space fans. We're trying to keep the information as accurate and up to date as possible.
You can download LaunchBox here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.foschwi.launchbox
We're looking forward to your feedback!

[App][Widget][4.1+] Time Tracker ⏲️ Learn How You Use Your Time (Beta)

Play store:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.wxssoftware.timetracker
This is a simplified time tracking app with several charts and a lot of statistics to help you understand how you use your time. Full feature list is in the play store description.
If you do not already keep track of your time, I really recommend that you start. There are many benefits! It makes for a great New year's resolution.
Time Tracker is in Beta, but it is fully functional and ready to be used. You may post any comments here rather than email like the play store suggest.
If you have any suggestions for improvement, I would love any feedback!
