Do you use the original cable that comes with the phone? It's vital. Also, make sure you have the latest version of Odin and try another pc. Odin can be buggy like that sometimes. Did you restart the pc after installing the drivers and odin?

The only drivers you need are the Samsung USB Drivers for Mobile, you need them in order for your pc to read the phone.
Here's a link: https://developer.samsung.com/common/download/check.do?actId=698
Again, make sure you restart the pc first after the drivers are installed.
Try checking if your pc has any updates from the device manager, there isn't a specific method to do this, you can try looking it up.
If all fails, try another pc, if possible a different branded one or maybe a newer one in case there's a missing or incompatible driver on the current pc.

I got the same message some days before the update was avaible in my country. You'll probably be able to upgrade your phone soon, just wait.

that cant be it ... the update has already been released and others have already updated
If you know how to flash...just flash DDKP2 using odin twice
I got the same problem. After waiting for months, I reflashed it with odin. So no other way except odin or samsung service center for us.
update through odin ... sammykies the most ever stupid flash program
odin is very easy

Can I install stock firmware without using a computer?

I have a SM-G920F phone and I recently flashed the UK version of Lollipop to be able to participate in Marshmallow beta program. I didn't like it because it didn't support my gear VR and I went back to Lollipop. Now I have the UK version installed on my phone and I can't get rid of the Android 6.0 beta OTA software update notification.
So I would like to flash the Nordic countries firmware but my pc is broken and I don't have admin permissions for my pc at work. It there a way to flash it without a pc?
If your phone is rooted you could use mobile Odin but without root there is no way to flash without a pc

I know about mobile Odin but my phone is not rooted. I think I just have to wait until I get a new PC.

Willing to donate to anyone who can help me fix my S7!

Hey XDA. I have a canadian G930W8, exynos flat S7. I had it rooted on stock. MY FRP lock is off. I am selling it so went to flash stock, to unroot and have it fresh for next owner! Upon trying to flash stock Bell mobility firmware i got from the official samfirmware downloader tool, it gets about 30 seconds into recovery and fails. Now my phone cant access anything except download mode. I cant connect to smart switch because it doesnt detect my phone when plugged in while in download mode. I've been using ODIN 3.10, 3.11 and 3.12 Can anyone offer me any help? I am willing to throw a few bucks your way if we can get it up and running. Thanks so much

Flash Twrp and reformat storage and delete everything on your device. then try to use odin.
you don´t need to be in download mode when you connect to smartswitch....
Also SmartSwitch doesn´t need to detect your phone...
All you need is your modelnumber and S/N. you need to do it viA Rescue option in Smartswitch.
i hope you understand what i mean .... if you need help PM me

OI5??? That version was 9 updates ago from back in September of 2015. Have you been stuck on Lollipop then for 2 years?
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-27682
Maybe time to update then? You've missed out on quite a lot of good updates(Marshmallow and soon to be Nougat). Why don't you want to use Odin btw? It's probably one of the best and easiest ways tools for updating your device firmware. It doesn't affect knox or your warranty or anything either if that's what you're worried about. It will get you quite unstuck from Lollipop too.
Anyhow, here is the most recent firmware version in case you do decide to use Odin:

Maybe your phone is rooted and that's the reason why you don't get ota updates. Flash latest firmware with odin, no other solution
I just selected software update to confirm and my phone does nothing also. I guess t-mobile is getting ready to send the big update to nougat. That's probably why it's not working. Give it a few days and try it again.

If your phone happens to be rooted or knox tripped you'll have to use odin to flash the update.

General Stock OEM firmware download links

Just posting this here for later reference:
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a53/firmware/
(all version downloads are available at this link)
For those who are new, here's a good guide for flashing this firmware using ODIN:
https://www.getdroidtips.com/samsung-a53-5g-sm-a536e-firmware/
I recommend samfw as it is a much faster site.
My A53 is not possible to flash stock firmware via ODIN. It always fail even though I use correct USB A to USB C cord. Tried both downloading software from SAMFW and SAMMOBILE. Checked flashing for other devices (A51 and A52), and my computer flashed with no problem. What should I do? Do Samsung restricted flashing firmware via ODIN on A53?

I flashed my A536U1/DS with ODIN no problem. Downgraded from the April security patch to the March one. Idk what model you have, but might be worth trying different usb cables and different ports on your computer.

I found that I couldn't get it to work on my MacBook Pro through the thunderbolt port. Tried for ages on windows and macOS. (M1). Using a Windows computer worked.

Thank you for the reply, but I am using the Windows computer.
Anyone know if it’s possible to convert Verizon A53 to Regular US or EU versions
