Hardware revision MI A2 lite - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello.
I suspect that this smartphone was assembled with different types of hardware. Is there any way to verify it?

Hello; yes the difference of LCD panel is an established fact that involves different settings.
But since dozens of bugs are recorded on some of these smartphones: adaptive brightness, WiFi, call reception, SD management etc., it is reasonable to assume that we are in the presence of other non-homogeneous hardware components.
Greetings

Hi IlSaro,
Yes, You Are Absolutely Right. I Have Seen That Different People From Different Region Are Complaining Lots Of Bugs In A Same Device. May Be This Could Be From Hardware Difference.

Dear I Don't Have Any Idea How To Check The Hardware Version. May Be Someone Can Answer Your Query.

From an older dt2w thread...
With EBBG display or with CSOT display. EBBG = without dttw, CSOT = with dttw. You can check it with *#*#6484#*#* (6484 = MIUI), tap on Version Information and search for LCD or TP.

There's a heap of hardware info in there. I don't know of any attempts to map the various hardware bits though, except for the 2 screens.

Somewhere I read that there are devices with other camera sensors (non Sony) aswell.

could the "TP" parameter be sufficient to identify and compare the hardware version?

Double tap 2 wake doesn't work for me at all, I haven't encountered any issues other than using "Open Camera" with optical stability turn on, I can see the color isn't lining up right and the green border appears.

Hi IlSaro,
I Have Noticed That, There Is A Difference Between Your Mobile Camera And Mine Mobile Camera. It Means That Some Other Hardware Component Will Also Not Be The Same For All Units.

Hello and thank you all for your readiness.
My intent was to identify the hardware components and associate them with the defects encountered by different users. I for example find a bug in adaptive brightness management,
the camera is not great, but considering the cost of the smartphone, I could not expect better.

Huawei Mate 8 camera takes blurry pictures

Hi every one.
I bought Mate 8 3GB RAM (32GB) today.
Every thing looks fine but the camera disturbed me.
Photos that it takes are very bad (too blurry). but Photos from the close object are ok and it seems that the problrm is the focus and it can't do it well.:crying::crying::crying::crying:
What is the problem? Hardware OR Software?
Now it's updating to B162 (From B103) and i hope it fix but nothing mentioned about the camera.(Can this update fix it?).
Thnx a lot.
Yes. update should fix it.
But it didn't.
Nothing special happened on B162.
I tried Google camera app and I had the same problem.
Is that Hardware Problem??
:crying:
Can Any One tell me it's a SOFTWARE problem or HARDWARE ???
It's bothering me.
thnx a lot.

Yep. This is pretty clearly something that software cannot fix. Hardware problem and I would say it is related to autofocus. Take it to service.
I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue. I suggest you take it to the service center for repair or replacement.

This happens usually when light falls directly on the lens. This light acts as a backlight on the image. So, click pictures in backlight mode by using a custom camera app.

Hi guys,
I'm experiencing a weird issue with the volume buttons. After a while of using my phone without a reboot it happens that, if I hit a volume down or up button, the volume jumps many steps by just on click. It gets almost impossible to adjust the volume properly. The only thing to get normal volume behavior is to reboot the phone. However after another while the volume button bug appears again.
Does anyone have an idea how to repair this bug?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Check for any updates released by the company. Mostly, issues like this are fixed in updates. If nothing works, try flashing a custom ROM.

Hello guys, maybe I'm a bit offtopic but here's my question. I want to buy a new android smartphone (I'm coming from Apple's iPhone 5S) and I think I'm gonna buy one of the Huawei. However, I'm a bit confused. I'm in between of the P9 Lite (the 3 GB Ram variant) and the Honor 8. I'm not gonna go heavy use on either of them but I want to have good multitasking as I often forget to close background apps and I don't care about heavy gaming either. Here are the advantages and disadvantages I figured out myself yet:
Honor 8: OTG, more RAM, USB-C, fast-charging
I didn't found anywhere the SAR values
P9 Lite: FM Radio Receiver, 100€ less on my country, IPS Panel
Less RAM, no OTG, high SAR values
The other thing I'm concerned about is about the modding of the smartphones. Are there any custom roms, or cm roms?
If anyone could help me I would very grateful. Does the 100€ more worth?

Honor 8 all the way,it s worth the 100$. The SAR as i saw here on XDA is one of the biggest, like 1.42( no ideea what ??).
But the camera and the speed is better than the P9 lite, and the design, the design is way batter, and the battery i think.

Thank you for your reply mate. As I find out with further digging SAR depends on the band your are on that moment. And yeah the max value is pretty high.

Yeah wow, looks pretty shoddy, but considering I don't see repair parts for the special edition anywhere, I don't think we'd have a choice. I guess with a case on it afterwards you probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway. Quick question - have you compared the connectors of the backlight for the Kenzo and Kate? Is there any difference? Wonder if it might be software related?

I have just ordered it, it was available for the gold one at least. Previous to the payment I calculated shipping cost to Finland with my address and it was 0€, it said also the delivery time was 7-10 days. After they´ve received the payment (39,42€), they sent an e-mail with the real delivery time: 11/05. So from 7-10 days to 23 days...
I will have time to check some youtube videos about LCD replacement and decide if I will do it by myself, meanwhile I´m already asking for budget is some shops... I´m not quite slick about assemblings/ replacements.

I tried this at my desk at work and the phone shows North where south should be and South where north should be. I grabbed a co-workers iPhone and his pointed north perfectly. After shaking my phone a few times, it eventually corrected itself, but was easily thrown off by moving it again.
My only guess is that our phones are VERY susceptible to electromagnetic interference.
Or you can simply try to reboot.

I can confirm that my compass now works properly in my home. My office has hundreds of electronic devices connected to numerous WiFi routers. It seems to support my hypothesis that our phones are just very sensitive to EM interference.

GPS and call quality still an issue?

I understand call quality has just been updated but both this and GPS seem to be a recurring concern on the official asus forums.
I've read many posts of calls being quiet but fuzzy and how GPS is grossly inaccurate.
I'm wondering whether people are still struggling with both or just a few isolated cases. Anyone have any experience they'd be happy to share?

For the GPS, maybe that has to do with the European GPS system issues of July 2019 (see this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_(satellite_navigation) )?
