twrp + root + NexusOS-9 custom ROM s6 - Android General

Hey! So let me get straight to the point . . . I used Odin flashed the TWRP recovery, installed SuperSU zip, installed NexusOS-9 ROM, then installed OpenGApps. However, my SuperSU app did not show up and Root Checker says I did not successfully root my phone. I have a Samsung S6 SM-G920T. Did I "root" my phone yet? and how come it shows up as not rooted? Please help. The Custom ROM and Gapps all work but it just says not rooted. Thanks in advance!

Root Faild

Hi, I tried to root my device many times and I have the same result with each try ( root fai code 0x174B87) with kingoroot , I cant root my at&t device SGS4 (I9505xxUFNB) "4.4.2 kitkat" , I dont know how to deal with this problem but I hope u find one and help me , I suffered from along time ago hoping to root my device
Thank u
i9505 is not the ATT version, it is the international version. If it is indeed the i9505 version, then just use Chainfire's CF Auto Root package or put Chainfire's SuperSU zip on your phone and use Odin to install TWRP recovery, reboot directly to it before it boots to the OS and install the zip.

[HELP] root problem

hello guys
i have a Samsung galaxy S6 g920F running on 6.0.1 with baseband G920FXXU3DPB6.
I have previously rooted my phone using CF-autoroot. Suddenly today when i tried to use superSU, it said "There is no SU binary installed, and superSU cannot install it. This is a problem!. If you have upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root".
As i said above that i have rooted after i updated to 6.0.1 and was working till yesterday. i don't know what happen today that it started giving me this error.
I even downloaded latest cf-autoroot from its site and flash it through odin, but still no luck.
Can anyone please help me.
Thanks.

Magisk v9 with 6045

Hi to all
I am trying to install magisk v9 in stock ROM without any success. Always after the installation phone boot to bootloader.
The Bootloader is unlock and when I un-install the magisk v9 the phone working properly.
Any idea how we could install magisk v9
Try factory reset or another version. I had installed Magisk v7, and few days ago updated to v9.
Great finding!!!
In Stock 6045 it is possible to install magisk-v7 or Magisk-v8.
In stock 6045 (5.0.2-010 02) it isn't possible to install Magisk-v9 via Manager or temp TWRP.
In case of temp TWRP device is stack to bootloader. It is possible to uninstall Magisk to work properly or install Magisk-v8
Any idea how to overcome the issue

root your device, install permamently TWRP and no problem then
Stuck on Android splash image during boot, after downloading and installing Magisk Manager and Apk 12.0. I was rooted through KingRoot, SuperSu installed busybox as well. I uninstalled SuperSu (through in app options) getting ready for MagiskSU.
Heres the deal. Even though I have twrp working, I cant use it cuz of a broke screen. Im thinking a factory reset via hardware buttons is my best option. But how?
6045O running the Panasonic Eluga Switch. Rooted, twrp satana 3.0.0.1 installed

[Q] Is it possible to Flash .ZIP without root?

I have Galaxy S6 (920F) with Android Nougat.
I have managed to install TWRP Recovery on my device and it is allowing me to install .zip files. But my phone is Not ROOTED.
So my question is,
If I flash .zip(s) now that are made for my device, will it be installed successfully?
or my device will stuck on bootloop?
Well, if you are flashing some files into directories that don't require root to access, it will work.
But lets say you want to flash ported system app (like message app). It will not work, since it requires flashing into \system and that directory requires root to be accessed and modified. :good:

ok then
basically, boot into recovery, flash twrp, reboot, boot again into recovery which now is twrp then flash another zip and in the end you have a custom recovery and root, righr?

How did u manage to install twrp on sm-g920f ??

can't root S7 (SM-G930F) in system mode.

Hello XDA !
This is my first post..sorry for my bad english.
I bought a S7 (SM-G930F) Android 8.0 and i rooted it then i noticed that was just systemless root.. and it's totally useless for me because i want to uninstall system apps and change build.prop..
so I flashed the stock rom and reflashed TWRP, then I executed a command to force SuperSU to install in system
(echo SYSTEMLESS=false>>/data/.SuperSU)
and I installed SuperSU.zip..but it stucks on bootloop.. I tried many different SuperSU.zip versions even a modified version for system mode root, but nothing works..
by the way I installed no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip before installing SuperSU.zip !

i havent rooted an S7 in a while, but dont you just flash twrp in Odin with the reboot box unchecked and once the flash completes, reboot into twrp which will present you a slider that says something along the lines of "slide to allower SU access" or something like that. Once youve done that, then you flash magisk in TWRP, boot, install busybox, and you should then be asked if you want to grant SU access to busybox, if it does that, youre all set

Thank you so much for your response !
I did everything in the correct way, i flashed twrp with reboot option disabled.. and i formated data then reboot to recovery and I installed no verity and after that i installed SuperSU and it's done successfully but it ended up with a bootloop..
also I tried to install a system mode supersu.zip and it freezes TWRP and stuck on "installing"
I think literally I can't do the system root.. so i did systemless root.

im well aware that TWRP is a custom recovery, i remember when it first launched and people were converting from CWM to TWRP. Anyways, if youve successfully installed twrp, try factory resetting the device and then booting. You should only need to flash magisk in TWRP and busy box in the OS once booted
