Can anyone let me know which headsets work with the Nexus 4? I have a few sets from a nokia and htch but each give me a different problem.
Either the microphone on the lead does not work or the volume is quiet coming out of the headphones.
So if anyone has a good experience with a specific set please let me know.
Requirements:
Microphone on lead
Good sound quality in both directions.

I use Klipsch S4(II) in-ear headphones, specifically their Android variant. Mic just has the one button (seeing as Android doesn't seem to support 3 button mics).
Sound quality from ear phones is great, same for the mic, I regularly use it for calls.
I've had problems where other mics on earphones wouldn't work properly with my N4, mainly that I'd sound very quiet/far away to the other person on the other end of the call. Something about low input gain from the mic. Haven't had that problem with these though. At least not as badly though. Look around there just now, seen it's still an issue with N5 apparently...

I'm using a very cheap pair of headphones with a microphone...just a random thing i picked up from ebay. Paid a whooping 1£ for them and they work just fine. THESE. There are sellers who sell them for less than that

Your description is exactly what I have been facing. Looking at those headphones they are pretty expensive. I'll wait and see if anyone suggests something cheaper that will work also.
Otherwise I'll take a look at the klipsch. Thanks for the tip!

Wow so these things really work? You don't sound far away when using them in a call? Can't go wrong with these if they work well!
Well, I didn't use them too much but the people i talked to when using them did not complain about anything

For that price, can you even listen to music with them?
How's the sound quality, compared to other, more expensive, well known brands?
A lot of Philips headphones work. Apple, Sony (when it was Ericsson, don't know about now), nokia and some other brands I don't know use other wiring for their headphone jack. 3 rings on the pin, every pin has an other use

I am using the samsung S2 headset and it is very good with nexus 4
I'm using Urbanears Medis Plus. They come with a textile cable, in different colors and three different ear pieces, so that they fit perfectly, very good for sports. Sound quality is good, microphone works and they've got a button to play/pause or skip tracks
Hi, I have a Note Pro 12.2 which I carry in my bag all the time. I just added phone service. I am concerned that I might miss important phone calls or messages. How is the Gear 2 phone capabilities? Somebody mentioned that there is no noise cancellation. Is it convenience to use it for making phone calls? How is the speaker and microphone quality? Can I use it for audio recording? is the recording clear?
Its very good if u keep in prespective its still a watch. I can talk with arms swaying while walking, on the steering wheel while driving... on a very noisy day, like with anyother speakerphone u will have issues though.

agree; its surprisingly clear and loud, and no one has complained about the volume or sound quality yet..
I found the Leeco CDLA headphones only 12 euros here: Link

Yes it is safe.
I received my LEPro3 in US last week.
Overall, I am very impressed with phone but have issue with CDLA earphones.
During calls, mic goes on mute once screen goes off. If you press power button to bring up screen, mic starts working again.
Tries both CDLA enabled/disabled, CDLA earphones/non-CDLA with converter.
Anyone else seeing similar issue?

Yeah dude is because of a software glitch that this s*#@ happens, it turns off power to the USB port when you turn off the screen so either Bluetooth headphones or leave the screen on (i know it's ****ty but o well)
for me, with headphones connected, my mic goes super-low and I'm barely audible after i activate the screen once it goes dark...not when the screen has gone off. the only workaround i've discovered is turning speakerphone on and then turning it back off with headphones still connected during a call. i think it's the waking of the screen that's the issue, not when the screen goes off. can anyone else confirm?
I just tried the included earphones and listened to Dolby Atmos videos. I was blown away with the quality of the sound. Sound that I would only hear in state-of-the-art theaters nowadays so I strongly disagree that the earphones were cheap by any standard.

I agree with you! I have never had such a high quality listening experience right out of the box from a cell phone with manufacturers provided headphones. I don't have experience with other cdla headphones, but these totally kill regular 3.5mm earbuds.
I just listened to them this morning and could not believe it. With Atmos and cdla enabled I was very impressed by the quality. Unfortunately for me I have an ear shape that does not work well with these headphones or any in ear ones similar to the iPhones.
I bought the CDLA earbuds at gearbest. Costing $15. Shipping was superslow as it took more than a month to arrive. I guess that's party due to december. Anyway Gearbest are reliable.

Surely they are loud, way to loud if you really pump up the volume. But I'm not very impressed by the sound, could be because I struggle to get a good fit. I find my Awei and Xiaomi Pistons with silicone and the adapter to be more comfortable better sounding. Currently I'm waiting for a couple of bluetooth earbuds to arrive.
The earphones Work with my Le Pro 3 and also with the mi 5 from my girlfriend
The quallity is good, but there is a noise when cdla ist enabled. But its okay.
And ehm where I could watch a Dolby Atmosphäre video?

LeMall US offering 50% off accessories including CDLA headphones now until 1/05/17. Now is a good time to get a back up pair. ?
I have got the headphones from Honorbuy with 15 $ and it works very good. On ebay the same headphones are around 25 $. Is there an option to turn off the leds on the headsets?
Do the leds have any function or is just for aesthetic view?

I assume it's there to indicate that they're "on". It would be cool if the color changed when one of the ear buds aren't working.
Has anyone tried using Earhoox or similar EarPod covers to help keep the slippery suckers in place? I've had a little bit of success using the rubber covers from my old Samsung earbuds (the OEM set that came with my S6), but it's not a great fit, and they still fall out of my ears, just not as quickly as when the LeEco buds are naked. I like the shine quality from these things, but they fall out almost immediately after I put them in my ears.

Proper etiquette aside (hint: don't use speakerphone while doing your "business" in a public bathroom), rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S8's speakerphone performs. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it's loud and it's clear.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Get headphones or a bluetooth speaker for like 100bucks. You got an s8, dont tell me you dont have 100eur more to spend on something
The quality is good but honestly if it went a pinch louder then it would be perfect
speaker quality is par at best. obviously no improvements in the past 2 or 3 generations.
people have a hard time hearing me on speakerphone. speaker for me is just barely loud enough.
hopefully they will fix in coming updates.
Does anyone else get a laser beam sounding tone on high pitched sounds
The quality and loudness is not good enough on the speaker phone. Honestly, i have a lenovo vibe s1 costing $135, sounds better and louder. Sorry to say, i had to say this, as i was comparing the loudspeaker clarity with Huawei honor 6+ and lenovo vibe s1, both of these phones performed better than s8
I like having the front firing speakers since my finger sometimes covers the speaker when I hold the phone in landscape with one hand. With the bottom speaker, I have to kind of "cup" the speaker to "direct" the sound frontwards. The sound isn't bad, but I do prefer the front firing speakers for this reason.
On calls, with Verizon HD calling, it sounds amazing. With regular calls, it sounds pretty good usually, but if I'm outside, I often find myself selecting the "Turn on extra volume" option.
I'd have to say it sound a bit on the quiet side. Since it is very similar to my G4, I've already got use to it.
I traded my S5 in for an S8 and transferred my ring tones over from the S5 to the S8. Even at full volume on the S8 they are much quieter than the S5.
I love modem strike online and it sucks cause how you hold the phone it covers up the sound. Sucks. You can't 'cup' and play
My S7A is the loudest phone I have heard compared to all my friends and co-workers.
Speaker on the S8A is really that bad?
I got my S7A just befor the S8A became available, I'm considering dumping my S7A and getting the S8A.
Hmmm, maybe a major update might include a fix for the amplifier.
Could also be the location of the speaker on the S7A.......
I actually just had to send mine in due to the loudspeaker being all distorted sounding. Was really disappointed because I love this phone. I sent the phone in for warranty repair. I will reply with how it turned out.

Coming from a Moto X Pure, which had stereo front facing speakers, This was is the best way to describe it. It totally sounds like laser beam sounding tones and it drives me insane.

Yeah the S8 volume sucks.
Hey guys, I didn't seem to find any information about the speakers in the review section of the forum. I know OnePlus has been using the same single downward firing speaker with their phones since they began, and just want some opinions and insight as to how good they are. I know they can be easily muted with your hand, but are they at least loud and clear? REALLY considering the upcoming 6t, but just want to know if the speakers are at least good enough. Thanks!
Speaker is weak.. Really weak. Root + ViPER4Android makes it somewhat better.. But yeah you can't fix bad hardware with software.

That...... Bums me out. I REALLY hope the 6t has either a better speaker or a stereo pair, that'd really be nice! But shoot, weak as in tinny? Or weak as in just not loud enough?

Not that loud and really rubbish sound =p but then again, the only speakers I liked are the stereo speakers I don't really use it that much so doesn't bother me really.

Well shoot, I'm coming from a Motorola Nexus 6. I'll be leaving behind a QHD display and stereo front facing speakers for this device. I decided OnePlus because I definitely want a device with a great dev scene, but these trade offs man! Lol
The op6 speaker is better than any Samsung single speaker. For single speakers it's not that bad. I can hear it in my pocket.
I'm gonna agree with Gizmoe, I think it's actually quite good. Last few devices were Sony Z3 (dual speaker/ stereo), Moto z3 (dual speaker/ stereo) Nexus 6p (dual speaker/ stereo) LG g6, Samsung S8+ , and now OP6...for a single speaker it sounds pretty damn good. Also there are stereo mods for OP6 as well as Viper for even better sound.
It's easily my favorite device.
Speqker is pretty good... Can't say its worst or bad. But defienetly gives crystal clear sound while listening to video or youtube.

Alrighty! Yeah I'm not expecting anything amazing, but just so long as it sounds okay I'm good! Yeah ditching stereo speakers and QHD is hard for me, though I checked out my buddy's 5T the other day and remember thinking "that screen is 1080? It looks GREAT!" But then I covered his speaker with my thumb and well......... LOL But just hoping it sounds at least okay, I'm gonna take the dive and go for the 6T this time. I really hope there's a red color option on launch! The red 6 looks soooooo awesome to me!

I was kind of spoiled coming from a Motorola x pure edition with 2 stereo front-firing speakers. They sounded loud and high quality with minimal distortion. The op6 doesn't hold a candle but I would say it is serviceable.

That's because on the S9 they started using the bottom speaker and the earpiece speaker. It's not just one speaker.

Thank you for pointing this out! I had no idea! Guess that's really not a good comparison, huh? Sorry.
Considering it's a single speaker it's pretty decent, im easily able to speak on calls on the speakerphone which always has been my benchmark for how loud and clear a speaker is on a phone. The position of the speaker is crap, very easily mutable specially while playing games but if flop the phone where notch if your right side, that issue can be overcome.

I didn't even consider gaming. Wow, that's something to think about! Well I'm going to watch the launch event tomorrow and decide, but it's a tough one. Coming from a Nexus device to a OnePlus? I'm leaning towards it because Nexus is no more and the new pixel phone??? I considered it, but for something I've going to look at several times a day for a few years or more, that notch is atrocious! Just insulting really.
Notch on Pixel 3 is super ugly and not to forget only 4 GB of Ram which means reloads (already notched by reviewers). For OP6T, it should have onscreen fingerprint scanner which may be the new technology but I can bet it won't be as fast as conventional fingerprints - that makes it a fail for me. Only thing to envy for OP6 users should be the teardrop notch. Gluck with decision making
The 6T will have stereo bottom firing speakers. Where the Jack was is replaced by a speaker. The fingerprint reader is going to be slower though and isn't always on. Making the experience slower than on the 5, 5t and 6. It's the reason I didn't wait and bought a 6 just a week ago. I figured the first to market with this would be more gimmicky than functional.
