Editing rom navbar. Combined navigation and status bars - Android Builders Collective

I have been trying to achieve a combined navbar and status bar for nougat tablets like the tablet mode of the Android 4 family (4.1). I have done a lot of searches but have found very little information, especially doing this for later versions of Android( 6 and up). The least information I can get on how to achieve this will go a long way to make a difference and will be very much appreciated.
Thanks already.:good:

[APP][2.1+][No-Root] ChargeBar - MIUI battery bar

ChargeBar is a free, fully-customizable, feature-packed MIUI battery bar for ANY Android device on ANY ROM, no root required! Hopefully everyone will give this a shot, we're sure you'll like it. It includes more customizations that the actual MIUI battery bar! Like the app? Don't forget to hit "Thanks!"
Feature include:
The ability to start when the device has finished booting.
Automatic hiding in full screen applications.
Hiding in the lock screen.
Displaying a status bar notification/ reminder.
Configurable animation style (normal, right-to-left/ inverted, and centered)!
1% battery indicator for supported devices (and a hack for Motorola devices including the Defy).
Charging animations.
Changing the color (choose a static color or an interval based on the remaining charge).
1% interval options for color (unlike other apps there are no predefined ranged like 0-20%, you can select as many ranges as finely as you want. Even choose a color for every percent!)
Changing the height.
Configurable position (top, bottom, bottom of status bar).
If possible please consider donating, it supports development as well as removes the permanent graphical links at the bottom of the app (they are not "ads" per-say nor does this app require the INTERNET permission). Please refrain from re-posting the APK anywhere! We will take care of updating it on our website.
While ChargeBar is no longer in beta that does not mean that there will not be bugs. If you run into any issues please send us an email with your device, firmware, description of the problem, screenshot/ logcat, or any other relevant piece of information.

It looks great. Ill try it out whenever I can download it.
Awesome! Can you add an option to change color after a specific battery level? Like Change color to red after 15%

nice job....just what i need....like the animation when is charging
Thanks guys, I will certainly look into custom colors for specific levels and/ or times of the day but I don't want to look it into say 15%, 30%, etc. so I need to come up with a clever interface and ContentProvider to handle this.
Downloaded to my Xoom.
Works as well as the team battery bar app from market.
On 4.0.3 under status bar goes about 1cm from top of screen not at the bottom.

Ah, yeah. I don't have a tablet to develop or test on so that makes sense. I've got an idea how to fix that but am not entirely sure.

The latest update available on the Android Market or our website now has this fixed. The position option "Bottom of Status Bar" is not "Top of System Bar" for Honeycomb+ tablet users.
Keep checking in for more updates, and when possible consider donating.

Any chance of getting it under the status bar in ics?

Great stuff. Using it now.
some1 reported that it almost messed his device by changing the Height to a very high amount, like 600-700-800 range
only way was to wait till battery dropped and could see his screen again
suggest to limit the amount
Looks nice but i can't seem to make it show above your super status bar+ app.
Best thing that I can do is to make it show at the bottom

Alright, I've set the height in the latest version (beta two) to 99px, just to be sure that it can't do "too" much damage. Of course this option should be used with caution even at 99px, but it should minimize the impact.
Check out the Android Market or our website for the latest APK.

Fantastic app. Back in Windows Mobile times I used a similar one. One option I really liked was an ability to set the color to rainbow style (RGB spectrum). It made the bar really visible no matter what the background was. Could you think of implementing it in future versions?
I set everything and start the app but i don't see the bar in any location i tried. I tried bigger height but still nothing. Process is running. Any help?
Swyped from my Galaxy mini
i got this on my tf101 whithout knowing its only weeks old and i have found the thread for it !!!
following on from rgb i think the low battery states should be red then yellow then green. making a gradient

[Request] Various tweaks

Good evening,
I've been running stock ROM pretty much since day 1 with Xposed+GB to get all the eye-candy features, however i recently noticed that this framework causes my overall system to be "unstable" (random "flashes" on status bars & alike) and my battery drains very much faster with it activated. Add it to the fact i cannot use ART and - well - i'm not too keen to use it any further.
What can i do then to have stock rom's stability with some added features?
Browsing this section i found various flashable mods (like center clock and custom battery icon) and these would be the perfect deal for me, so i was wondering if there was anything for the following points, which are the only things i'm really missing from Xposed:
-quick unlock. Having to press enter after the PIN really annoys me.
-immersive mode to hide navigation bar
-PIE control.
That's pretty much it, these are the only features i'm really after but can't seem to find anything around, I don't know if i just overlooked them or i'm just blind (why not abit crazy). But here is where you come in!
TLDR: help.
Thanks
Regards,
Daniel

I'd recommend Minimus, it has all the necessary features and well, it's very minimal lol stable and is able to run ART, or "stock with goodies" is another good one also and just came out about 2 days ago i think
Managed to get rid of navbar by using a buil.prop command and using LMT launcher as PIE right now, absolutely flawless.
Still missing the quick unlock though, if anyone knows a mod/app or what else which achieves it don't hesitate to post it here!

[Q] A few questions

Hi all
I have removed the xposed framework and gravity box from my Nexus 5 as I have switched to the ART runtime as I was fed up with poor battery life.
A few key features I am really missing.
Status bar brightness change (like CM)
Advanced volume control where when you push the hardware volume keys you get the media slider too
Volume key hold down to skip track with display off
Quick settings from dragging on right side of status bar (not silly two finger Kk style)
Battery percentage number always displayed
Resizing the horrendsly massive navigation bar which takes all screen space up
There were more things but those were the main...
My Nexus 5 is rooted and unlocked. I don't mind if I have to use adb to do some of the above or flash etc. I'd like to stick to the standard ROM. I'd also not like to install a million third party apps which also require resources and permissions...
Any suggestions? Does Android L improve on the above?
Thanks very much
Laurence
These are custom features. Xposed was the easiest way to get them. Finding a custom ROM is the other way.
Either Xposed or a Custom ROM. Xposed won't work with ART.
I know that's the problem . I wanted to keep stock but there is just far too many lacking features - come on Google give the advanced users a few more options - even if you hide it away...
I'll have to flash the Cyanogenmod ROM. I see that they have the M8 (4.4.4 ) version of CM 11 which is which I think has all the features I need and more. Maybe a good thing anyway!
I think Android L has a few problems reading up on it for now... I know it is a developer preview anyway.
Thanks
Laurence

PAID PROJECT: Nougat or Oreo AOSP status bar signal and wifi icon colors and mods

I would like to hire the right developer for a personal project.
I absolutely dislike white statusbar icons. Most, if not all substratum
themes do not touch the status bar icon color, some use overlays to
change the background though. There is a substratum overlay for wifi icons but this seems overly
complex for such a simple icon swap, and there have been changes made by google
to prevent the signal icon from being changed, at least according to the developer.
In earlier versions of Android, SystemUI.apk could be extracted along with framework-res,apk, and the
resources swapped for icons of my choosing. I am going with an AOSP rom
based on Nougat (AICP, or Resurrection). I am not working with Sense roms. My understanding is that Oreo further limited
the ability to change statusbar icons, that would be my reason for going
with Nougat. I would rather stay with an Oreo build of AICP but that is not a must.
If you are interested, I would like an estimate of the time it would
take you to:
1. Tell me which files to pull and send to you
2. Determine where the resources and/or code must be decompiled/edited to make this
work, that is, signal, wifi, other icons of my choosing. I can provide the icon files.
3. Send me the edited files
4. I will test
5. Work with me to handle the bugs
6. Once we have a working setup, draft an outline of what you did which
would enable me to decompile/edit the appropriate apks or files so I can
do this myself later with different icons.
A bit about me:
I am tech savvy, familiar with the linux command line, adb, etc.
I am working with AOSP roms on a HTC M9. Rooted, S-OFF, it is a GSM
variant (himaul). But I am not a software developer.
I am not looking for an app to do this for me. But I am seeking out the expertise
to reverse engineer what I need to make this happen and do it manually.
In my hours of pouring over xda I read somewhere the inability to choose
the icons is a google policy. I can't stand the modern UI white, washed
out colors but themeing can take care of most of that. In case you ask,
I'm currently on 4.3 on a HTC M7 from 2014 and I have got to get going with a newer
device.
I realize your time is valuable and this will not be a trivial task (or expense)....I only ask you to reply having enough familiarity to dive in without too much OJT.
Please do include your hourly rate. I would have no problem if this work is made GPL and free to post here, if you like.
Thanks!!

Question Full immersive mode??

Just got 7a from google store online (no carrier lock), coming from OP7 pro on Android 10 been running without navigation pill or status bar... (well it was invisible? if icons were hidden) used System UI tuner for that phone.
Seems every command I want to use in System UI tuner is broken in Android 13 on this 7a device because I can't get immersive mode or transparent "pill" nav to work...
Read ADB commands stopped doing these commands a while back as well. I don't care to do much more to the phone but get immersive full use of screen. I would also like to get rid of date and time on home screen and the google widget at the bottom of home screen BUT not a priority.
Haven't had to root a phone in ages.... is this the only way I am going to accomplish this? If so is there a guide to follow to get this end result? Apparently I'm a born again noob.
Thank you to anyone for insight

Rooting is easy. You can check the PixelFlasher tool here on XDA. And using Xposed + AOSP mods will do the trick.
