Great App!!!
Thank you for this app, it's really really nice.
Btw I have a question about the notifications. How it works? Are we notified when the show air or can we customize this (like be notified 1h before?).
For now you'll be notified once the shows have been aired. I use the date provided by trakt.tv. Depending where you live, you may be notified in the middle of the night . I know I can improve this part

Good to know. Maybe you can ask users if they wanna be notified before or after the air date (in hours). Also ask them the range to be notified on. For exemple let's say I only want to receive notifications between 11am to 9pm, if the show airs at 2am, then the notification will be postpone until 11am.

Once you have added a host, you should be connected to it right away.
To know if you are connected to Kodi you should see the yellow game pad at the left bottom corner. If you click on it, it will open the remote

Yup, I thought about a similar system
I've made things much simpler to add a host. In the last version 1.5.3, it will try to detect host automatically. No more IP address and port to enter if everything works fine
thank you....this surely looks promising...pls can you add the movcr site as one of the providers in Wako?
I have also created an issue in gh for a feature request.

I've been looking for a LONG time for an android app like this. Anyone have any idea where I might be able to find one.
This is a pic from the iphone app which basically shows when the next new show airs on only specific shows you enter in the app.. nothing else is there like on the TV guide app where you browse channel/time..
Thanks for all your help.
I'm looking for something smiliar... Would be awesome if someone could create an app that works a bit like http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/
Of course I could always load up the website, but would be better to have it as an app. If someone has the time and skills to do a proper app with a good UI I'd definately donate a beer or two.
tvguide.com has an app on the marketplace. There's also tvlisting from jersey productions.
I tried those apps and they arent really what I'm looking for, for anyone who has had an iphone and used "Tv forecast" you will know what I mean..
Instead of sifting through channels 1-900ish trying to find the right show you input it into the program and it comes back with the next NEW showing.. nothing more, no bloating of other random channels you dont care about.
I'm just looking for a similar android app, that would make my iphone -> n1 transition really complete!
the tvguide.com one allows you to put in favorites and it shows you the next showings.
Shoot an email to the dev of TV Forecast, maybe they'll port it.

Okay, this is bad a**! I always forget when shows I like will be on. Thanks for the heads up on it.
try TV Show Favs from the market, there is a free ad supported version with 14day premium trial inside.
this app in my experience blows tv forecast out of the water, and is so good i opted to pay for the premium version. even though all the features you want and need are free!

Hi,
After the success of the beta programme (over 100 people wanting to signup!) I decided it was time to re-write the platform to allow me to add more features and improve the overall "feel" of it. I also have plans to commercialise the platform, allowing it to be used by businesses/individuals who wish to monitor devices remotely.
The client application for Android is available freely from here and can be included in a custom ROM if you wish to make it persistant across factory resets. I do ask that if your are a ROM developer that you let me know before you do this, and also credit me in your release notes.
There will be 3 main licenses available to you:
Basic
Standard - comming soon
Expert - comming soon
(These apply to your account)
Basic

Standard

I am also considering the possibility of an API which a business could use to extract information and use it in their own way. Please contact me if you are interested.
How to install?
Remove any older versions from your device
Install the latest version from above
Goto "http://promethium.mobi" and signup
On your phone, follow the instructions to register your device against your account
Login to "http://promethium.mobi" and have fun!
I haven't moved any old accounts over, so you should signup again.

Hi,
I have created a geolocation app a bit like MobileMe or htcsense.com for any Android 2.2 device with Market. Allows you to show your device on a map and make the alarm sound, all via a web portal.
http://promethium.mobi/
This site is the main portal, There will be limited accounts to start with, just 20. These will be BETA accounts as I need people to trial the system to get feedback etc. Currently the email address has to be unique, but doesn't need to be a valid address, however this will be useful when you try and report issues.
Once you have signed up, the latest APK for the client application will be downloadable from the portal toolbar. This app will ask for the same login credentials used on the portal, and once connected you are ready to use the portal functions.
Check the site periodically, as I will allow more signups as the application progresses.
Please can we keep all bug reports within this thread, I would rather develop this in the open.
Enjoy,
Rich

OK people!
Thanks to all those who already registered, just a few spaces left if people want to signup. Please only signup if you are happy to engage in helping me improve this platform... any accounts created but not activated within a day will be removed!
So far I have made quite a few alterations, improvements to the UI on the portal, as well as more interactive feedback. This means that you need to re-download and install the client app - this will overwrite the current one, and will keep all existing settings
Enjoy!

One more suggestion though, idk if it's possible, could you have it force turn on gps? I normally leave it off so if I actually do lose my phone, it would just give me the giant radius of the cell tower location...
Also, I notice you're using dyndns. Is the computer/server you're running it on going to be up 24/7?
**EDIT**
One more suggestion, a "My Phone's Location" button on the portal that snaps to the location and centers it.

Sorry, starting from Android 1.5 cupcake, you cannot programmatically toggle GPS. It should be fine to leave it enabled though.

Hitting "Refresh Location" does this now, but it takes up to 5 seconds to move across the map, I will look at making it snappier

I have read through the SDK documentation and the best you can do is prompt the user to enable it. So kind of misses the point
I have also altered the JavaScript code so that clicking on the location refresh button zaps you to the marker instantly, but you still have to wait until the phone updates the server to see the latest result

Yes, more features will be coming soon, including a "Lock" ability. This is quite a complicated one though, might require the user to select a "secure" lock screen prior to first use.
I also thought of some wicked uses for the Nexus S, but that will have to wait until I get time ( here's a clue: Peekaboo! )

Hello Everyone,
i've finish working on my application RemotifyMyDroid, and uploaded it to the market place toy can download:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.yazan.remotifyMyDroid&feature=more_from_developer
it sends notifications to your PC, when you got event on your mobile,
best case when you are charging your mobile in a room, and setting in another..
however you can use it in different purposes ...
the phone and the PC should be on the same LAN,
in future i may upgrade it to work over the internet ...
it notifies for those events:
1- Incoming Call (shows the caller number to)
2- Outgoing Call (someone using your mobile to call a number)
3- Your mobile is fully charged (in case you were charging it)
4- Someone unplugged the power of the charger.
5- New Incoming SMS.
to download the PC server
http://www.yazandroid.com/
and go to RemotifyMyDroid (1st link) and it contains some screen shots to.
also have a look at my other FREE 2 applications there
your feedback is appreciated
Yazan.
Sounds great, but I think setting this up might be a tad harsh for general use (firewalls etc). I would suggest building an intermediary platform (web service) to communicate to. That way you can have a very easy setup. For instance, you can use the Google login service to identify yourself from the phone and the notification program and that's it then. No IP's or port numbers as most users don't know what that is anyway.
But for the techies, good start.
Cheers

You sure have created the only app that after 5 seconds finds my CC every time. For whatever reason, youtube, netflix, the official CC app, and my computer can rarely if ever find the CC. You and google music have done the impossible.

That would be pretty nice ! My goal would be to extend Android sharing standard so you could potentially share any kind of content instead of inputing it manually
