Could someone recommend me which Content blocker is the best (lowest cpu/ram loading, reliable ...) for Samsung Internet app ?
Available content blockers:
Adblock fast, AdBlock/Plus for Samsung Internet, AdClear, Adguard, Crystal Adblock, Disconnect free, Unicron.
Adhell3

i'm using Blokada to block ads across the entire device. Seems to be working pretty well. I don't know why you would want to block ads in ONLY one app?
using adguard without any issues so far. one of the best/easy to manage app. its just $9.95/year iirc. totally worth it.

This. Adguard (premium) is the truth. The only issue, or not really an issue but something I don't like, is that it won't block those damn video ads in YouTube. It basically blocks everything else and drains very little battery as well.

You're right. There is absolutely no need for it as long as you're smart. Its a ridiculous battery drain too.

I have used avast with GB and ICS and i dont have any battery drain problems, I use to use watchdog and avast was always very low in the cpu usage, apart from when i does a full scan.

I Use AVG Pro and never had battery drain issues..
For people who say AV is not required on Android, i had a malware attack on my phone and AVG immediately detected it. Later found that the same happened with one of my friend on his phone without any AV and his memory card started adding some unknown files automatically.
I use avast mobile security, the best I tried.

Really? Mine only uses like 4/5 percent?
Agree that we don't really need Antivirus for our phone but I do use Avast, mainly for the anti-theft which is great!
I noticed the battery drain is negligible.
If you ask me you dont need AV if you are smart enough.. because specially ICS takes alot of RAM resources... Just use some app like Droid Wall to control your outbound network access and you ll be safe

really? you could always disable it. I never liked Samsung specific implementations but I use it all the time when I'm browsing the web in full desktop mode. it's really useful for mouse hovers to trigger menus, video previews etc. without it I'd be forced to use the mobile version of web sites all the time which I kinda hate. it makes me feel like I'm using a wap browser in 1999 or an iPhone.
Anyone using flibpoard? My phone gets extremely hot and battery life socks when I use flipboard.
I disabled flipboard

I use flipboard but don't have that problem. I've disabled a ton of other apps including the "briefing" app. I think it's a widget of Flipboard. You might want to try doing the same use the "Package Disabler Pro" app. Also get the latest tmobile update haven't had any heating issues since upgrading.

Hi, eddykoodoo...
Yeah, Facebook is a bit of a crawling horror of an app that drains your battery, chews up CPU cycles and makes your device run hot.
If Facebook is not a preinstalled system app on your device, you could try hibernating it with Greenify, which can be run in non-rooted mode...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
Things get a little more complicated with Greenifying preinstalled system apps - you have to buy the donate version of Greenify and as I understand it, you also need Xposed installed, which requires an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery installed.
An important point to consider when hibernating an app with Greenify is you won't receive any notifications until you proactively run the app yourself, and take it out of hibernation.
Hope this helps.
Rgrds,
Ged.

The problem is even if greenify is an amazing app doing exactly what i'm looking for doesn't work if your device is prodected with a PIN.
Or better it work but after you open an app you already greenify it will stay open and you need to greenify manually i don't know if there is an option i miss

Yep, you're quite right.
I've just investigated this on my rooted Nexus 9, but with Greenify denied root access...
...and it appears that Greenify will not auto-hibernate with 'secure-key guard' (pin enabled lockscreen) **without root**.
My apologies for getting your hopes up.

It might be worth checking out some of the more lightweight 'web-wrapper' alternatives to the Facebook app, such as the following...
**Metal for Facebook & Twitter**
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nam.fbwrapper
**Swipe for Facebook**
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.happening.studios.swipeforfacebookfree
I use the Pro (paid version) of Swipe and its certainly a lot less resource intensive than the official Facebook app.
Anyway, just some thoughts...

Adhell.
Free, modifies knox firewall, no VPN.
More for privacy though, so not all ads are taken care of..

Why don't you just disable notifications for the app?

Disconnect Pro (in the Galaxy Apps store) is just as effective as root-based ad blockers like AdAway. The catch is that it is pretty expensive. I grabbed it when it was $5 a year or two ago. It goes on sale once in a while.
Apparently Adhell (Google Play Store) is almost as good and is completely free.

Most ad blockers use a VPN, which results in an Android OS notification (key icon) that can only be hidden if you block all Android OS notifications, which most people wouldn't want to do.

In earlier versions of Android, we could turn off just the VPN notification and all was good. But somewhere around Lollipop, they changed it so that it's all or nothing.
Good luck sir. I like to use AdClear, you still get the notification, but I have a widget on my home screen to turn it on and off. It's supposed to bed able to block YouTube ads as well, but I've noticed it's hit and miss.
Adgruad works for me

Same here. Adguard's pretty good. I was lucky enough to get a lifetime subscription for very little a couple of years ago. One of the best software purchases I've ever made.
I use Disconnect Pro for Samsung. It works very well but it would be nice if single adds could be whitelisted. I like a XenForo feature, where Amazon links can be posted with picture and price. Disconnect blocks this as an ad.
