Right. Could have a bad download, or sometimes it takes a few tries. Usually it's the wrong USB port, having something running in the PC tasks, or bad cable.

Plug your Nexus 7 into a computer and then press the power and both volume buttons at the same time. Then you can boot into recovery.

I tried that. I can get into fastboot no problem. I'm running pre released windows 8. Could that be the problem as to why I can't get into recovery?

It's not a problem of the op kernel or win8 but know issue that some Nexus 7 unmount recovery. There's a specific thread for solve this....but in my case don't work
Inviato dal mio Galaxy Nexus con Tapatalk 2
I also had an issue with the 28 June kernal. Wouldn't go past boot screen or load into recovery. Could still access fastboot though.
/remember that nandroids are your friends
I was able to boot into recovery using the N7 toolkit. The problem then was I had to use the toolkit to force it to boot into android. I tried flashing Trinity's and Franco's kernel but it would not flash via TWRP or CWM.
Ended up having to flash the stock image to get my tablet working right. As per another post having a similar issue I would stay away from the June 28 kernel.
The older kernel also put my Nexus in a bootloop
Ah well better reflash
So does any of these kernels work or only put the n7 in boot loop? BTW what's the difference between the two?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
ones newer than the other, by the looks of it both bootloop the device :/
really regretting not backing up before doing it
edit: I reflashed the boot.img (extracted it from my ROM) and all is good now. Gonna do a titanium backup just to make sure incase it's unstable
Wow I really wish I had read this thread before flashing. Just bricked my device
hi i already asked about this problem in the general questions but only one dude answered and he didn't even bother to read the whole Q

After installing from twrp and getting system not mounted... I posted a question here as well as searched the net so i found this guide with the flash tool.... I used it and everything went well.... My phone booted up with stock kitkat and recovery... Everything seemed fine...
The battery was at 5%... I restarted the phone and it was stuck at bootloop again... I was too tired to try again...

Sorry no clue. Boot loop on stock firmware and especially if it booted first and won't boot again sounds like a general hardware problem.

Two days ago I set off on a journey to root my phone . I Followed a couple guides and every site stated that you need Twrp. The thing is im running marshmallow on the D850 and any time I try to boot my phone in recovery I get "boot verification failed" and get a black screen with the notification flashing and this even prevents me from even doing a factory reset. From lurking the forums i've learned that the best way to fix is to flash back to an older version of android but most of these guides seen old and out dated and I cant seem to find a kdz for the D850 . Thank you and your help will be very much appreciated.
also the i installed the LG USB driver (to use the LG flash tool )but Ports (COM & LPT) are not shown in device manager mostly because the phone should be on so the drivers will be shown...
Really I read many many threads and I tried to follow it but no success
I could not find D850 kdz..

If you follow the general back to stock guide you'll see that the D850 is TOT method only. You'd download the tot file and use LGUP to flash since your on MM

You don't press power.
With the phone completely off hold down vol down while plugging in the USB cable that's connected to your computer.
If that doesn't do anything try vol up instead.

That's not the same error. That's showing its detecting the phone but it doesn't know what it is. Where you running MM 6.0 before? If not it's going to be easier to use the old kdz method.

I got rooted and I enabled wifi Hotspot
But I am wondering :
as I know if I upgrade to lollipop or Marshemllow I will lose root... So is the same will happen with wifi tethering(Hotspot )
I mean
WiFi tethering enabled in KitKat >>> upgrade from kitkat to lollipop or Marshemllow >>
Tethering will be stayed enabled or will be locked?

You cannot update while rooted. You'd have to unroot and updating would replace the tether changes. Also it seems like your not on AT&T which you cannot update anyway unless you have an AT&T sim.

2- if rom custom installed shall I lose wifi hotspot which was locked by att but now enabled with kitkat after root ??
