Been googling for hours but haven't found a way yet.
@mufek were you able to find a way to do this?

Hi,
Have you checked the subtitle bottom margin option on MX Player settings > Subtitles > layout? It will help you to move the subtitle text to the bottom-most position.
PS: Please note that some advanced subtitle formats like SSA (aks, ASS) allows the subtitle makers to predefine the subtitle positions on the screen. So, this setting will not affect such subtitles.

@MXPlayer @USBhost @CDB-Man @Thirumalai.K
This bug is still present, even when we put the bottom margin on 0!
On nPlayer with these settings:
Movie from pictures:

Exactly!
We need more options for the bottom margin - value: -10 or -20

bump

I wanted to open a thread about this, but I might as well just post here.
I have the same issue.
That is with PGS. SRT is adjustable just fine.

Installed latest MX Player beta 1.33.2 version from here https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build and still same bug
Alse latest libffmpeg.mx.so.neon.1.32.0 codec is installed from here: https://github.com/USBhost/MX_FFmpeg/releases/tag/1.32.0

KODI, nPlayer, and the best of them NOVA player working Ok with a vertical position of subtitle!
Subtitle vertical position 40 in NOVA player:

NOVA Video Player - Apps on Google Play
Video player for local/network content with subtitle/metadata download support

still not able to put subtitles in the lowest position in android tv with mx player. Not even with mouse. What a pitty. NOVA is good but it lacks stability for huge libraries so mx player is the way to go, but that subtitle positioning is making me crazy.

It looks like a interface layout issue rather than decoder issue.
Would you try Android 4.0 compatible mode under Settings > Player > Android 4.0 compatible mode?

[Q] Styled Subtitle Update Speed

Hi
I like to watch Anime on my phone and MX Player works great for that, so first of all thanks to the devs.
Now there's only one little thing that is bothering me: a lot of sub groups use styled subtitles, which MX player can play fine, but for some reason they only update every second or so, while on my PC they play smoothly.
So i wanted to ask if there's a way to make the subs update faster, or make them play smoother?
Thx.
I dont know if this could work but you can try.
Settings>subtitles>h/w acceleration.
Let us know the results

But I can't notice any changes on heavy animated subtiles when enabling/disabling it (it was turned on, probably by default).
Probably subtitle renderer is single-threaded and have no buffering, so text updates as fast as it could be rendered in realtime.
The subtitles are updated every half a second or so. However, if you pinch in and out quickly (zoom in and out), you can see that the subtitles are rendered as fast as possible.

Is there any way of changing the update speed?
The issue of subtitle .ssa "styled subtitles" performance has to do with the fact that MX Player currently uses libass, which isn't the greatest option for decoding .ssa subs. The developer is working on an alternate framework... but that will take time as he has to build a lot of it on his own, instead of borrowing from something existing such as libass.
Or maybe a buffer mechanism may solve this issue?

1.8.x beta version will be better in;
1. Updating frequency increase.
2. Real-time rendering option introduced on Playback screen > Menu > Subtitle > Settings > Text > Improve SSA rendering, even though it will be effective only with SW decoder.
Beta version can be found on; https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build

MXPlayer Pro can't handle .TS stream from TVHeadend

Hi there,
I need some help in order to make use of MXPlayer as a player for my TVHeadend streams on Android.
I have a TVHeadend Server setup and working perfectly on my Raspberry Pi Zero. I'm used to watching these streams on a RPi 3 running OSMC/Kodi without issues.
Here's where I am stuck. I want to use MXPlayer to use these .ts streams to no avail. I only get a garbled image and a chopping sound.

I am in Brazil. Here we have as a Digital TV standard a variation of ISDB-T, called ISDB-Tb.
I know it uses H.264 and AAC.
Both AFAIK are supported by mxplayer pro.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry.
I am new to this.
Should I post this to another thread or provide the logs here?
Sent from my LG-K220 using Tapatalk
I have attached the logs,
Also, As I get home today, and sampled a .ts file. I've noticed that MXPlayer Pro can play this sample as you'll find out.
But it cannot stream it. It is NOT a bandwidth issue. I know that because the default video player can play (without sound) the same streaming coming from TVHeadend.
Hope that helps

I have tried to stream the video from a remote location & couldn't find any such issues.
The logs in your report are only a few lines. Looks like some other process is generating more logs & MX logs are getting erased before you collect the report. Can you increase the log buffer size in developer options of your device & collect the logs again after reproducing the issue?
does it happen with all decoders?
basically, HW decoder uses the same media player API used in stock video players. So, it should behave exactly same as your default player in most of the cases. What about HW+ & SW?
Here is the log with increased size (4MB)
I have tested with HW+ and SW.
With HW+ it behaves basically the same as HW with the difference that it plays a couple of seconds more before stalls with a garbled image.
SW: it plays, sort of, losing A/V sync. Unwatchable.
Hope that helps;
same here, instead of that if I save the stream to local storage, mx player can play A+V with HW

x265 10bit 1080p

I've been searching for a way to play x265 10bit 1080p files over Kodi, with an external player, since the native player, at least on this tablet, won't do this in either hardware or software decoding mode. I also know that K1 doesn't support hardware decoding of this files, only software decoding, I have no issues playing x265 8bit 1080p files.
From what I've searched and tested myself, this is what I could find so far:
- Using MX Player Pro with software decoding, as a Kodi external player, the files play fine, even some 4K files play acceptably well, the problem is that, because the content I'm trying to play is shared from my Nvidia Shield TV via Kodi upnp shared library, I only get the subtitles that are encoded inside the video file and not the external ones;
- MX Player Pro, as a standalone player, can't even detect my Nvidia Shield TV Kodi upnp shared library, and I don't intend to use local files;
- VLC, as Kodi's external player, will play the files with stutter, same as the native Kodi player, no matter what decoding modes I use, and still no external subtitles;

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- VLC, as a standalone player, will detect my Nvidia Shield TV Kodi upnp shared library, and allow me to select the subtitles I want, but still stutters;
So, what I would like to find out is, either a way to for MX Player to let me select external subtitle files, as Kodi's external player, or out how to add Nvidia Shield TV Kodi upnp shared library to it, and use it without Kodi.
If someone used a different method to solve this, please let me know, I really couldn't find much. Thanks!
PS: Before someone suggests this, I've already tried the Kodi forums, they're so nice and helpfull there... The result is that I've been talking to myself for the last week, either no one cares to help or no one really knows how to do so, a simple "it can't be done" would be better than nothing at all.

Question HDR10+ Pretty wonky?

Can't play any HDR10+ videos on my phone for some reason. It can only play HDR10+ videos recorded by the phone. When I open the "Video" app I can see a small HDR10+ icon.
However, the mediainfo says it's HDR10? And when I load any HDR10+ video it says it's HDR10 only??
The clip I downloaded was from this site.
The media info of the HDR10+ Test Video and the Video recorded from the phone. And of how it looks like in the Video app, Pic
You can see how weird it is, would love some insight
Plays good, no problem here.

I'm using stock android. I used the stock video player, MX Player, Just Video Player/Just Player, MPV and VLC. All of them have the same output. The Increase contrast has no difference with the output and the decrease brightness one decreases the brightness of the whole scene, nothing like what the demo pics showed. Also, I'm using the Vivid screen mode which unlocks DCI-P3 which would be great for HDR content, still getting nothing. I'm posting the photos of what I'm getting and what I expected to get over here.
