Hello Mates,
i bought a oneplus 6 and at the same time one of my Friends bought a Oneplus 6t.
I read and watch many YouTube Videos About the differences.
But i found out that my camera doesnt shoot such good pics as the 6t.
Why? It has the same Hardware! Specially the night mode pic of 6T shoot much more better pics then my 6.
I am very disapointed about that. Why ??? I read there are gcam mods and try some of them but night mod is not good as well.
Can i do something?
Thank you in Advance
Best Regards

This Gcam port is the best i've tried, currently using the most recent one, everything works, including SlowMo, and the app is extra smooth :

I'm going to OPO6 too from Note 8 lol
Both shot at dusk. Pretty impressive.
Hi all,
I bought OP6 few months ago and went back to pixel 2xl. I was gonna go for pixel 3 but not gonna do it because of alot of issues with the device. Anyway im thinking of buying a OP6 (no 6T ) but the only thing hold me back is the camera. So my question is how's the current development with GCAM + OP6? Is is working like on OP3 + Gcam? HDR working + greenish photo issues have been fixed? Highly appreciated your input
Don't know how it worked back with the OP3 but I come from a Moto G4 Plus and GCam was miles better than stock on that phone although it was very slow to take shots.
My experience with Gcam on my OP6 has been really good. I didn't start using Gcam until a couple of weeks ago but I'd say it's pretty solid when it comes to regular photos. Video doesn't work but the stock op app works fine for that. When I compare pictures between stock and gcam the gcam can be a bit too aggressive when it comes to background blurring and zooming in on text on a whiteboard is better on stock though nightcamera is miles better on gcam.
My point being that gcam isn't superior in every single way compared to stock. Don't know if it might be gcam not working the same as on pixel 3 or the stock just being superior in some scenarios.

Let me get this straight.
You bought OP6, then went back to Pixel 2 XL (because the camera wasn't good? Or is it something else) Then you wanted Pixel 3, but it had issues.
So you want OP6 with the power of a Pixel camera by using the Gcam mod apps?
Ok, I think I can advise on this particular scenario, since I have been testing it extensively.
1) When in good lighting conditions, the stock camera of OP6 is almost as good as cameras of other flagship phones (iPhone XS, Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Mate 20 Pro etc.) I have seen multiple reviews of this camera, and during daylight, it's excellent. My own shots with this camera were very good as well.
2) When in dim lighting conditions, the stock camera of OP6 uses an oversharpening algorithm that makes images look grainy/noisy and also makes images lose a lot of fine detail. Gcam does superior noise reduction, and preserves a lot of detail, but the images come out softer than other flagship phones' . I would definitely use Gcam for low light shots.
3) However, a lowly GS9 cam (which I have access to) is still superior to this OP6 camera, in both daylight and low light scenes. There's not a large but definitely noticeable difference in detail and focus at night, and a slight difference during the day.
Conclusion: The Gcam app will not change your camera experience, unless you take a lot of shots of dimly lit scenes. Using the Gcam app will significantly help you bridge the difference between the OP6 camera and other flagship cameras.

Lol. Yeah i went back because of the camera. Once you use a pixel it is hard to find a good camera phone. Yes. I dont wanna go for Pixel 3 due to remaining issues. Here is the thing, only thing i love about Pixel devices are Stock fluid system + superior camera. But i was a oneplus user few years back. Thanks for your long explaination. May i ask you how do i get GS9 cam apk? Only drawback of coming to OP was the camera. Im gonna give it a try

Sorry, but GS9 camera comparisons are from an actual GS9 phone, which my friend owns.
If your sole issue is camera performance, then don't go back to OP6. It's just not as good as flagship cameras.

totally agree. let's also say that other flagship could cost (in some cases) more than 2 OP6 put together.
comparisons are soooooooooo sweeeeeeet..
I spend most of my free time looking comparisons between phones but we gotta face the fact that there is a CONSISTENT price difference between a MATE 20 PRO or the lastest iPhone and an OP6 (or maybe two, lmao), and still I think that so much money won't giustify the quality difference.

Thank you both. The reason that pixel camera is great beacuse it is just point and shoot. 9 out of 10 it will produce blurr6 free perfect photo without any editing. Most of other cameras won't do that. To be honest im not a photographer or i dont take photos alot ( like used to be). So it is good that i can relay on a camera that will capture that moment without a fail. But if the GCAM port can catch up to that I'll ho back to Oneplus. I know that there is a huge price difference. Thanks though. Really appreciate your help
Hey guys
I'm looking to ditch my SD855 Samsung S10+ for the OP7Pro. But i need to know if the panoramic photos are sorted now. I had the 6T and always the panoramic photos did not stitch correctly and were all over the shop. I ended up installing GCAM just for good panoramic photo stitching as the OP camera software was rubbish - but TBH I would prefer to just use the inbuilt app if it works good.
If anyone can confirm the panoramic pics stitching is ok now with the OP cam app, then I'll drop the $$ and get the 7 Pro
Many thanks in advance

Decent. But panorama are not made for close up photography truly. Try a city skyline or something you'll probably find better results
Yeah, everybody lives in between skyscrapers naturally :good:
No such thing here.
I always used GCam for panorama on my OP6, the stock camera app was bad at panorama.

Hello all!
I would love for you all to give your opinion on the OnePlus 9 camera in comparison to something like my Pixel 4 XL. My OnePlus 9 which I purchased on eBay arrives tomorrow and I am slightly worried that although the battery and performance will be a huge upgrade over my 4XL I'm concerned after reading mixed reviews about the image quality.
Coming from those who have tried pixel devices do you feel that the OnePlus 9 is in any way comparable to the pixels image quality? If you came from a pixel are you satisfied with the OnePlus 9 camera performance? Is it at least acceptable for someone like me who has children in a lot of sports in likes taking action shots?
I appreciate all of yours input and thank you for your time
My Pixel 3 XL took way better pictures across the board. The lack of OIS on the 9 is unforgivable. I use the GCam mod that was posted around here and that's at least passable but the only thing I like about the OnePlus cam over the Pixel is that it doesn't blow out reds. As someone with rosacea, it's nice that a minor flare up doesn't make me look like a tomato.

can you give me the link for the gcam u r using? thanks a lot i cant find good gcam for op9
I just switched from the OP9 to a pixel 5, which i believe has the same camera sensor as the 4, and I think the photos on the OP9 were much nicer. Sure google has good processing but the image is so grainy on the pixel 5.
On the plus side my pixel 5 isnt crashing / randomly rebooting five times a day so i'm happy.

Coming from pixel pro 6. Love the camera, hate the size of phone. Know I'm giving up some great features by going smaller but what are you early owners seeing with the camera? Anyone planning on finding a gcam ported to it? Heard someone ported google photos also so magic eraser would work.
Thoughts please why I impatiently wait on my phone to arrive.
Good enough. Definitely better than than my Flip 3
The 3 seemed to lack detail and colour for me.
I've been searching xda for the gphotos port with magic eraser, but nothing is coming up for non pixel devices... Let me know if you know where it is plz!
Samsung now has object eraser, works same, however you could try this: https://www.smartprix.com/bytes/how-to-get-pixel-magic-eraser-on-other-android-phones/

I took some Flip 4 pics today to see how it goes, the color rendering seems ok, decent photos in good light conditions. No overkill, just point & shoot camera - things we were expecting from this phone.
The camera on this phone is definitely no Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro; however, I think that should be a given when upgrading. I installed The Greatest GCam port and was impressed. The issue with the ports that I have found is that they don't mimic the new camera software on the Pixels. The one that was closest did something weird with my camera lens and made everything spherical looking.
Been using pixel since pixel 1, the camera is not as good as pixel's, even compared to a pixel 3 (2018).
The picture took by Samsung is more colorful than pixel, more colorful than real.
And the picture took at night is worse than pixel. Pixel's algorithm (night sight) is absolutely needed.
Is there any working G Cam port? Thank you.
Haven't found a gcam port that doesn't crash yet, but Adobe is working on a camera app that is suppose to have similar AI to Pixel, along with some other great stuff. Don't know when it will be released though
The camera is certainly a step up from last year's device but not quite flagship grade.
It excels in well-lit areas absent of any fast moving objects.
A working GCAM port might convince to me to reconsider it as a daily driver (as I literally have no other qualms with the device).

Tried the BSG camera port. The good news is that everything seems to work. The bad news is that I took a number of test comparison shots with the Samsung camera (both lenses, night mode, portrait mode). The Samsung photos were clearly superior each time. If nothing else, makes me feel good about the camera built into the phone.

Can you take the selfie using the front camera? I tried G Cam from all mods and non of them has a working front camera. You can preview from the front camera, but you can't save the image.
As for the "superior", it's just personal tastes. Many people like the raw and real feeling of the G cam. Samsung's camera is too "vivid", the sky is bluer and the trees are more green, FAKE. And often lost the details because of the color management. G Cam, just captures the real world most of time.

Sorry, I've already deleted G Cam, so I can't test the selfie cam. Didn't think to try it.
Came from S22U, so my experienceis not applicablefor everyone.
For sure, the camera is not like in that phone, especially I'm missing the telephoto one. Night shots are more messy and such.
On the other hand though, it's not that bad at all. Night shots are doing what it supposed to do, day photos are great.
In my mind, I can say that the cameras on Flip 4 gets "Decent +" mark
