Cannot unlock bootloader - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hi. I cannot unlock the bootloader of my xperia xz premium(G8141) I tried the official Sony method and also with the flashtool. When I put the phone in fastboot mode it only gives blue light and the phone doesn't communicate with the computer.

Go into your phone and type *#*#7378423#*#*
Then look in Service Menu/Configuration - Rooting status
If it says No then there's not much you can do.
It may also be a driver problem, Windows10 has a habit of not installing drivers, but not telling you they failed.
Try Zadig
Sometimes you have to go into safe mode and use 'driver signing dsiabled' for installing drivers in Win10 to work

Thanks it worked. Windows had trouble installing drivers.

[Q] Xperia L Drivers?

Hello,
My Windows 7 PC is not able to detect the drivers for Xperia L. I have already installed the PC Companion and also installed the Flash Tool drivers, ADB Universal Drivers. Still it doesn't detect the device.
ADB Debugging is enabled.
Can you give a download link for the drivers?
Thanks.

Try a different approach. Go into your device manager on your PC. You can go into device manager by going into properties of MY COMPUTER or Control Panel\System and Security\System
When your device is connected, do you see an exclamation mark in devices. Reinstall it by finding drivers manaually.
IF this all fails, just delete the device and refresh it.
Another very useful trick is to delete the unknow device (xperia L) and restart your Xperia L. Then search for device changes. it will be detected automatically.
Is your MTP ticked in Xperia / Connection/ USB connection on your phone ?

Unfortunately, I have done all that. Isn't there a driver setup file for this phone? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
Thanks!
I'm facing the same problem.
I'm tryng to unlock the boot loader following the instructions on Sony website, but when it comes to use fastboot it just keep saying <waiting for device>.
And I have installed all the stuff you said, too.

Good Luck.

the whole of this was my phone was softbricked. I wanted to get into recovery so I could use ADB to try to fix it. When it's softbricked, ADB won't start up, therefore I could use ADB.
Trust me, I know how to use ADB, I just wanted to know if there was a key combination to get our phones into recovery mode with ADB because ADB wouldn't work because my phone was softbricked. It had nothing to do with me not knowing how to use ADB or how to set it up, it had to do with my phone would brick it self before ADB started, so therefore I couldn't send any ADB commands.

DRivers for Xperia L
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46681107#post46681107
Problem solved. It was tricky, though.
Having PC companion installed wincrap didn't make me choose other drivers.
So I disabled the signature verification for drivers -> rebooted -> connected Phone while pressing the vol UP -> opened device manager -> select s1boot fastboot (which had a warning icon) -> selected driver manually (the .inf file we replaced following the first steps.
then i just used cmd as in the guide.
et voilĂ , bootloader unlocked.
I hope this is helpful to those who faced my same problem.

Hey,
Use Flashtool's integrated BLU method . Faster and easier! You only need your bootloader unlock key provided by Sony and that's it. Flashtool wil even read your IMEI so you don't have to input it manually. And it doesn't matter if your phone doesn't get recognized by your computer. The important part is that your led is blue.
Succes, and hope I helped!

Can't unlock bootloader after upgrade

Hi
My phone is international NXT-L29
I was on Ephemeral B180 rom but i decided to upgrade it to get emui 4.1
I flashed back stock b180 rom, and after I flashed stock b321 rom
ROM works great but i would like to get root and twrp back again, but everytime I try to go through fastboot i get this screen on picture.
I logged into my dc unlocker again and followed the procedures (manufacture mode, unlocking,...) and dc unloccker tool informs that the phone was unlocked...but no, when I do adb reboot bootloader i still get the same message on the picture.
I saw other suggestions here on XDA, i confirm oem unlock is activated on developer options...i made factory reset and then "vol+- power" (with or without phone connected to PC) but i dont't get any option to unlock bootloader. I always arrive to a menu saying that the phone is looking for upgrade and tries until 5% is reached... (if I keep waiting it does not fisplat error message, only waits and waits and after a while it reboots normally (i don't have any dload folder either on phone or sd card)
Any suggestion to solve this is highly appreciated
many thanks
Try to get ur unlock code from huawei website maybe this can help.

I retrived my code from DC Unlocker (it has an option to read bootload code) but the problem is thar when I get de Fastboot&Rescue Mode the phone does not react to any command i can type on PC
Can I replace the stock boot.img that comes inside the UPDATE.APP file byone decrypted boot image of same rom?
If that would be possible then flashing this "modified" UPDATE.APP would solve the problem?
Many Thanks

I don't see any kedacom usb device folder...
Check if the device isnfound by the computer. Restart in fastboot mode then on your computer type "fastboot devices" you should get a device and its serial. If you're not getting anything its a driver issue.

Open control panel when your phone is in this state (it's fastboot mode) and you should see the folder I talked about.
It seems drivers issue, i hate windows 10
Try different usb port, and try to remove the drivers and install them again.
Make sure no usb device connected to any other ports.

XZ Premium (G8141) [Bootloop] [Bootloader Lock]

Hello, I need your help. I mention my problem: I have a XZ Premium (G8141) in the state of (BOOTLOOP) after updating the Android. I did the following: Try to repair the firmware with Xperia Companion, also flash with Newflasher and none of this worked for me. I would like to try to unlock the boot manager since I have it blocked but I can not because I do not have the USB debugging active. Any way to unlock the boot loader? Thank you very much and excuse me for my precarious English. Regards!

Can you describe what didn't work for you with Xperia Companion?
If you can't effect a repair with the Sony tool, the chances of you negotiating your way round finding and installing the drivers required and flashing the files required to root the phone, in the correct order seems pretty slim. The fact that the phone boots means that it's not bricked and the boot partition is ok.
There is no way to activate USB degug without getting into the OS, so repair or flash is the only option.
Have you installed the Sony drivers ? If you are using Windows 10 you will need to install these drivers with 'driver signing disabled' via safe mode.
You need to have the phone turned off comepletely before trying to connect it to Xperia companion repair, something that's easy to overlook. Hold the volume up(+) and the power button until the phone vibrates three times, then follow the instuctions on the compaion repair. Holding the volume down(-) when connecting the USB lead when asked to do so.

I tried installing the drivers that you gave me with the signatures of desperate drivers and now the Xperia Companion does not proceed to flash
Hello, the Xperia Companion tells me that it was restored perfectly. As for the drivers, they do not show me any errors in the device manager. Although I do not remember having installed them by deactivating the drivers' signature. I'll try that, although I doubt it works. Thanks for answering!
