[ROM] SM-F900U Stock and combination rom - Samsung Galaxy Fold ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & O

Here is some firmware that I have acquired, will update the post when I get more.
Stock Firmware:
Coming Soon
Combination Firmware:
SM-F900U FA90
Combination firmware is only to be used to recover the device in case it is bricked or you have messed something up

Mine just in case

Newb question: what app do you use to just look in the ext4 files, without burning to a new partition?

sadly androidfilehost is damn slow for me.

7zip. Reads almost any FS image. (if its a sparse image when 7z fails to open you need to use simg2img first on it)

SM-G532G/DS

Scrap piece of information
Well, I don't have this phone but it is just a piece of scrap with zero new information.

Can it enable esim
Can flashing comb stock rom help enabling esim using imei calc

This is a great post. I like this topic. I found many interesting things from this site. Thanks for posting this again.

[Q] samsung galaxy player 50

My sister have a Galaxy Player 50 with eclair...this PMP seems to be the same as the galaxy 3 (same resolution...and some other things) so can I flash lestatious or other rom on it ?
This hardware is not a phone...but maybe ?
Maybe I can try to flash...but if the pmp become soft bricked...it's over since i can't found an galaxy's 50 firmware...
Darius, I'm stuck with a brick galaxy player. I can try to flash with a galaxy 3 firmware if you want
Do you know how to make a dump of your device so you can share with me the original firmware?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14493414
I don't know...but I'll try to find
Thanks!
I tried the firmware of galaxy 3, but didn't work
I dont think that its possible, first of all, despite being an android device, it doesnt have radio features, gsm 3g etc, only wifi, there are features that our phone does not support
Anyone found a solution for this yet? Not being able to test this device to it's full potential is really frustrating. Games are laggy and apps just do not run smooth on this one.
Has anyone tried z4root on this? I did and it freezes at "acquiring root shell".
@fedeff: how did you brick it?

I'd gladly try it as long as Samsung gives me firmware, don't want to end up with a nice looking little brick here.
Is there any way that that an installer/firmware file could be saved in the device for backup purposes or something?

factoryfs.rfs is ur firmware backup....
@arunmcops: Thanks for the instructions. If someone try this and upload it'd be great for me.
@anon3524: I accidentally reseted the device to factory, trying to fix a problem with wifi (it suddenly stopped working one day).

Ok, I am down to do this process you just explained as long as you or anyone explains to me how to recover the device with this "factoryfs.rfs" in case it gets bricked. You'd have to explain with detail how to grab this file and what to do with it etc. Also, if you could give further details on the initial process, that'd be great since a few things are unclear (to a brave noob like me).
Other than that, I am willing to try it to see the results.
BRING IT OON! *warface*
@arunmcops - I've got one of these, so have uploaded the file you wanted here - sorry, not allowed to post links yet:
dl.dropbox.com/u/6491656/Samsung/factoryfs.tar.gz (please don't flash this, its not a full rom)
I haven't made any changes to the base firmware other than renaming a couple of the phone.apk's to .old (cell standby was eating battery, and this device doesn't have a sim).
For fun, i've also uploaded a dmesg log
dl.dropbox.com/u/6491656/Samsung/dmesg.log
One other thing, i think the partition layout might be slightly different on this (might be wrong, don't have the phone) in that the internal sd card is mounted as /sdcard and the external one is /sdcard/sd.
Hope this helps!
Chris
@ctaylr Thanks for uploading the file.
I tried to load it using Odin, but it get stuck while uploading the file. The device is detected, but I think it's not transfering anything.
Is it possible to restore it form sd card?

Hi...thats probably because it isn't intended as a flashable rom. Its just a dump of the stock firmware so that arunmcops asked to see to see if it had any resemblance of the galaxy 3 f/w, to see what we'd have to do to get a working custom ROM on this device..
Please don't attack it with any kind of Norse God ...especially until there is a confirmed route back to stock. All thats contained in the files is what you have on your device already - so there is also absolutely no point (for now).
If your having trouble with your device now, you could try doing a factory reset or playing about in Kies - i've fixed my device once after I got curious and flashed a custom ROM on here (which fyi completely messed it up - something like E:multi_csc: error: open /efs/imei/mps_code.dat because we dont have an IMEI code on this device) and then got it back working again - unfortunately i can't remember exactly what I did. Otherwise if this doesn't work I'll see if i can make a working stock package for Odin.
@ctaylr, yes I'm having problems with my device. It got soft bricked. I couldn't make it work using Kies. The only thing I can do is to start it in Download mode. If you can make a working package for oding that'd be great
This might help

Thanks!
@fedeff Ok. i'll have a look over the weekend and see if i can make something that flashes.
Quick questions
1) do you have the 8gb or 16gb version?
2) have you tried going into recovery utils and doing a "wipe data/factory reset?" - you can do this by holding down home, volume down and volume up while turning the unit on - i seem to remember this fixed it for me, but it probably depends on how far Odin got while flashing. If your unit is already bricked, i can't see it doing much further harm

1) I have the 8gb version
2) By doing "wipe data/factory reset" is how I got it soft bricked. (the device wifi suddenly stopped working, and I thought that would help) After that it kept entering in the recovery mode. Then I tried to flash it with odin, now the only thing I can do is enter the download mode
Thanks again for helping me!
News?
Hi! I also like the others I am interested because my Galaxy player has 50 brick and I need someone to do dump the firmware so I can flash through odin! Please would you be my salvation and many other who have this player and would like to fix without waiting for the assistance of a month
Waiting for an answer I greet and thank all users who want to help me

EDIT:
listen to me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726673 This is the guide on how to get the dump of your fimrware if someone kindly did this process with its galaxy player 50 and then upload the file . tar obtained would help all
I don't think it is as simple as that.
If you fully read that topic above, it tells you. That will ONLY tarball the files in the /system folder. It doesn't dump the the bootloaders, efs or produce the initrd, which is also part of the firmware.
In fact that backup is exactly what i linked to earlier here, and doesn't flash properly through Odin. I don't know Odin very well (i use a ZTE Blade and clockworkmod normally ) but i'm going to take an educated guess it needs all of this information to successfully flash the player, and trying to flash without all of that probably won't work so well.
If i'm wrong, please let me know and i'll do what i can to help.

[ROM][ODIN] P500VPBMB3 Sprint 4.1.2 Firmware

P500VPBMB3 Sprint 4.1.2 Firmware
For some unusual reason there is little to no development for the SPH-P500 and absolutely ZERO official firmware available for the Sprint model. This means, if you soft brick the tablet trying to install something you should not have, you have no easy way of getting back to the stock firmware. In addition, getting to the 4.1.2 version of the firmware is a royal pain due to the massive amount of "PATCH CHECKS" and assert checks built in to the OTA update. This means any deodexed system or a number of other reasons will be rejected if you try the OTA update while on non-official or approved firmware. So, for your convenience, I have compiled a simple ODIN-Flashable TAR file which will jet you up to speed installing the latest official Sprint 4.1.2 firmware.
Details:
P500VPBMB3 Stock w/ MB3 Modem
Package Includes: BOOT, RECOVERY, SYSTEM, MODEM AND CACHE ZONES
Download:
P500VPBMB3 Sprint 4.1.2 Firmware
Password on the archive is: www.mobiletechvideos.com
How To Flash:
BACKUP YOUR FILES AND DATA BEFORE FLASHING...ALWAYS. First extract this file using WinRAR or a program capable of extracting a RAR package as the package inside it is the TAR file you need. This was done to save time on the download. Once extracted, using ODIN, select PDA and choose this file. Now place your tablet in DOWNLOAD MODE by having it powered off, then power on by holding POWER and VOLUME DOWN until you see the on-screen text come up. Release the buttons and press VOLUME UP to enter DOWNLOAD MODE. Now click START on ODIN. Once completed (takes around 10 minutes), it is advised to enter RECOVERY MODE and perform a FACTORY DATA RESET for the best bug free experience since I don't know what ROM you are flashing from.
Did this help you out? Great, I'm glad it did! Click that THANKS button next to my name if you have the time. Please note, if you find yourself in a hard/soft brick situation of any type on any advice, give me a shout via PM or email through the contact page on our site. We also offer repairs on a number of other issues.
27 downloads and nothing? I'd love some feedback so others can be confident in the firmware.

Haha it seems that way! Well thanks for your response. Nice to hear from somebody about this. For some reason the Tab 2 10.1 forum members seem to be dead but want development anyhow without any input!
There are a lot of people here in a german forum there is mostly nobody ...
i hope you get some feedback! if not: there is not problem first things that will reported are problems
Haha, how true! No news is good news right?
problem and feedback if it works...
Hi. I am pretty new here (although I have been a member for a while, I have not really been active). I do have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 inch display model P500VPBMB3. Perhaps I can try out what you are talking about if it helps me with my problem below and then I will be more than happy to give you feedback.
PROBLEM
I never really rooted a device before but I am at a loss here since the current version of Android that I have on my device is 4.1.2 . It's working OK but I run out of space very often since I only have 16GB of main memory. I would love to upgrade to 4.2.x so that I have the option of storing apps on the external SD card. I am not clear exactly what you are giving us here on your thread. If you can explain it to me and especially if it does what I am outlining above I would want done, I would love to give it a shot and then give you some feedback.
Either way thank you for helping is Sprint tablet people whether or not what you have above will help me.
Thanks

You will actually want to look into custom recovery combined with a custom ROM to enable this type of option. What I have provided here is a stock firmware (stock operating system). This is actually already what you have installed on the device.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. You seem to be a helpful sort of person. I am sorry to be so dense but I have no idea what those things are. Is there a place where I can, sort of begin from scratch to learn all about these things or can you please fully explain what I need to do here?
I get that yo said that what you are offering is what I already have. What I don't understand is what exactly what to look for. I do know that if I install the wrong thing, I can brick my device. What I don't know if how to find what I am looking for. I already tried it in the search box-that's how I got to your thread.
This is honestly a very tough section as the P500 is a rare unit that has little to no development. You are in the right sub-forum but finding any mods for your unit may not be possible at this time unfortunately.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! You can root with Kingo root and make modifications with xposed. I just have been so busy with work.
I will flash this when I have time. Now I can be more risky with flashing because I can now go back to stock ROM.

Hello, I know its been almost a year, but I tried to flash this ROM and get stuck after the tab reboots with the message "POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE", is there anything I can do to restore the tab (I did not do any backup).
Thanks a bunch
Do you have the Sprint model? If so, try re-downloading it and flashing again. Afterwards, perform a factory data reset.

The tab comes from China but in the options i've seen SPH-P500 so I supposed it was a model made for Sprint.
I did flash again and reset factory but nothing changed.

That is definitely unusual though the fact it came from China. This likely is NOT the right firmware for your model. The back of the unit should have the model number. See what it says...

Wow!! I made a mistake!! I bought this tab to have some fun rooting and installing custom roms. I should have checked the forums first to see if there was any support. Thanks for what you've provided here. I'm going to at least try to root and install xposed.
I have a sprint gtab2 10.1 that's out of contract, so i'm willing to start working on things if needed.
if we no longer need to use the Sprint data can we flash a SPH-P5100 rom for wifi only ?
resurrecting an old thread. Need to find the original firmware for sph-p500. This appears to be it, but I can't find or get the password to the .rar file. I can't find the firmware anywhere else after a TON of google searches. any help appreciated in either getting the password to the .rar file, or a different place to download the firmware.

[RESEARCH|MT8127] Bootloader hack ideas for LeapFrog Epic

I dunno, but I thought maybe I could make a separate thread about a possible way to poke into the LeapFrog Epic's preloader so it could accept unsigned images. LeapFrog won't spill the beans for us, as their staff (falsely) claims to know next to nothing about it, so unless we somehow managed to social-engineer them into giving us a signed ROM or an unlocked bootloader, our only chance is to patch it so it would ignore the lack of digital signatures.
What I've done so far is to run a strings check on the preloader and uboot binaries - fastboot seems watered down somehow as it lacked references to "oem unlock" and so on, but none of that Amazon Fire-style failsafe seems present from what I can tell.
Preloader: http://pastebin.com/H9QbzqC0
lk: http://pastebin.com/kSxRKYna
Boot files from the latest firmware revision are attached here, so if anyone is interested, please please please let me know so we can fix bricked units and finally port TWRP to this underrated kids' tablet.

Would also like to know is this is possible
If I may ask, how did you extract the strings from preloader and lk? Did you use a hexeditor or there is another app?

I used this utility to do a strings dump off an Epic ROM:
http://split-code.com/strings2.html
It did turn up some interesting stuff but I was wondering if a binwalk or perhaps an IDA disassembly analysis would do wonders so we can finally poke into this tablet.

Thanks for the tool but I cannot seem find a way to use it.
@gursewak.10 or @smartmanvartan please chime in to help us because they were able to hack the preloader of k4 note and lk of RCA Viking Pro respectively
I also know a friend who is willing to donate a spare Epic, if that helps.
As for using Strings2, the following batch script should work:
Code:
@echo off
strings2 %1 > test.txt
pause
Just drag a binary to be analysed into the batch file, and a resulting text file with strings and stuff should be generated.
Hello friend
You need to tweak lk to unlock bootloader . i am giving you my phone's both files(.you can easily compare them.
on unlocked bootloader u can flash unsigned images via write memory option of SP flash tool .
Try HxD hex editor

Hmm, I can flash the preloader to my leapfrog via SPFT, but not anything else. Write memory works, and I can flash stuff one at a time to it, but I couldn't get the tablet to force itself out of flash/download mode and into normal mode. There's no reset button, and not even taking the battery off does the trick.
However, on my working Epic, I can alter the demo system image, flash it back using Write Memory and still end up with a working device, just as long as the preloader isn't messed with in any way. Right now I am at a loss as to how to revive my other Epic, short of taking it apart and shorting KCOLO and GND. It also didn't help that the testpoints aren't labeled at all. :/
Also, I did a quick logcat while running the FOTA utility, and I managed to get a few URLs off the said logs. Problem is that while the ZIPs may be of some use, they're incremental and there doesn't seem to be a full scatter/zip image to restore a faulty unit. There definitely needs to be a way to patch the bootloader so we can do whatever we want to it, but is there any one of you guys who are experts when it comes to MTK modding?
Any more ideas?
Anyone, please?
Bumping in case there's anyone interested in poking into this.
Now this is interesting let us see what we can do.

You happen to have an Epic with you? Please let me know if you need more than just the firmware images. I've tried contacting LeapFrog regarding this issue to no avail. They did give my friend and I the kernel sources, but it's no use as the bootloader has to be unlocked for custom boot or recovery images to be used.
Is anyone willing to test if SP Flash Tool 5.1532.00 works on the Epic? I managed to flash a complete system image to a bricked Epic but I was unable to revive it as it has been bricked prior due to a botched preloader flash. The ROM's on my main Epic discussion thread, but one should take note to flash just the boot, recovery and system images and see if the device still works.

Are you able to muck around with LK or sbchk using IDA Pro or some other tool? Makes me wonder if merely deleting /system/bin/sbchk would disable boot-time checks or if there's more to it than just that.

GREAT NEWS I MANAGED TO GET ROOT WITHOUT UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER ALL YOU NEED IS TO
1.download your firmware and extract it
2.extract the boot.img from the firmware and put it on your phone REMEMBER WHERE YOU PUT IT SINCE YOU WILL NEED THIS!
3download magiskmanager install it and open it.
4click install and choose the boot.img it will install magisk into it
5.put it back in your firmware folder on your pc
6 look for a file that says Checksum_gen and run it
7 once that completes use spflash tool and load your scatterfile and flash JUST THE BOOT.IMG wait for the reboot and you have root!

No, I was not able to extract contents of the dz file. Someone could try to add the header info to that LG kdz python program on github maybe? A while back that used to be simple to accomplish.
Guys here is the boot_a/b for the firmware you posted here. Thanks goes out to @runningnak3d who made updates to @emdroidle's work. (KDZ extractor: Here)Amazing work guys. boot_a/b
Update: Currently trying to upload the system_a/b folders already unpacked. Ill post the link as soon as its finished
Update System_a/b Here
Been lurking and leeching since my first android, trying to contribute on this G7, just upgraded to G710TM10N on this sim-locked G7, if I can provide anything to help anywhere. I can try to pull the same files if redundancy helps

Thank you sir, see if you can try to pull the recovery.img. The firmware didnt seem to include one. I may try and download an older firmware and see if i can recover it from there instead. If everyone can help with this search, it could prove important.
Recovery is included in boot_a, boot_b in system A/B phones which the LG G7 has. It is included there so phone can update without needing a reboot.

While you are correct that recovery is in boot, it is not needed for the A/B updates. The only rational reason they stuck recovery in boot is to make our lives difficult. Also, not all A/B phones ditched the recovery partition, just the majority of phones with Qualcomm processors that use their reference abl.
FYI - the much easier way will be to incorporate TWRP into laf ... or just forgo download mode completely, and use the laf partition.
Lastly, now that I can decompile abl -- stay tuned for ablsploit (to be used in conjunction with lafsploit). I am not saying with certainty that it is possible yet, but I am feeling confident.
Oh, one last thing for real this time -- don't think about cross flashing ANY model G7. I have downloaded all available KDZs for each model, and LG got smart and they all have different RSA certs.

I kept hitting security key issues, possibly due to my limited usage of adb and fastboot. My phone had already updated so I don't see the download anywhere, I guess to the A/B partition setup.
and good luck to you, runningnak3d

Successfully Flashed BNTV450 Stock Rom on BNTV460 Nook 7 (2018) Tablet

Greetings my tech peoples.
Just wanted to let everybody know I successfully flashed a BNTV450 Stock Rom on a BNTV460 Tablet. As I said in a previous post, I bricked the little guy trying to get root (it got stuck in a bootloop after I patched Magisk to the boot-sign img and then flashed it) so I thought, why not be creative and see what you can do with the little guy.
Now there are problems. A **** ton of problems. It isn't what I would call functional. Screen keeps going Red on the borders and flickering. Start thing crashed. But I can get in and finagle to developer options and such. Flashboot and ADB still working though. Keep in mind I flashed with SP Tool via scatter file.
But hey - it can be done!!!!
Also, just for note, I've also been able to flash a boot img of the 450 over an installation of the 460 stock rom - did that unlocking the device. Honestly, that caused less problems but I wasn't able to get root. Also, it naturally erased my unlocking but fret not, I've unlocked the thing 3 times in the 12 hours I've had it.
This is my first nook device, and my first timed dealing with new android, Oreo. But I just wanted to give the hope out there.
Hopefully better news in the coming days.
You wouldn't want to share your scatter file and your stock firmware would you? Trying to recover a 450 that won't boot past Nook screen. I cannot unlock it because the volume key does not respond. I have been able to flash 1.02, 2.04, and 2.05 boot and recovery images from ipdev's thread with no change. Also got a 1.02 system.img from him but that did not seem to fix it either. I do not have adb access at this moment either so cannot logcat.

This is the 450 firmware I used:https://mega.nz/#!Ds5lTCRD!MT8za1cUYOfEkSXGZB57gIsWr12ogWs9YotDoHZLwQ4
Scatterfile is in there. Keep in mind I got it from an unverified source - use at your own risk just in case it has that piece of software in the OS that B&N knew about which you can read about here: https://techcrunch.com/2016/12/22/the-new-barnesnoble-nooks-come-with-free-malware/

Sorry bro, it kept redirecting weirdly. I reposted the link in the previous post and it should work.
Here is also the site I got it from: https://www.xsfirmware.com/nook-bntv450-mt8163-android-6-0-firmware-flash-files/
Back up and running. Thank you.

No prob dude.
If spflash tool is working, but you have not a correct scatter file. You can use "Wwr_MTK tool" to read back the whole emmc and read partition table from preloader, the tool will make scatter file and full image copies of the firmware partition by partition
I did this, but now I can't log into the B&N account, and if I try to open nook settings, it asks me to log in, and again, it doesn't let me...
