Tanix TX3 Mini-H sound problem - General Questions and Answers

Hello! I need some help. It seems that my Tanix TX3 Mini-H Android box device turns off audio output when sound volume is low. If I watch a movie and audio dynamic range is high (some scenes are too low volume, you can barely hear them) on low volume parts the sound cuts off with a distinctive click sound. It comes on as soon as the volume gets a bit higher with the same click (crackle, pop) sound, like the audio output is turned back on. In some scenes sound goes on and off for a few times and all you can hear is that clicking, crackling noise. If audio stream in a movie is normalized (low dynamic range, i guess) everything sounds ok. There is no desync or anything. Device has s905w chip, Android Nougat 7.1.2 and is hooked up to a FullHD TV with a HDMI cable and nothing else. I tried different cables and different HDMI inputs on TV, still the same. Changed around audio options (PCM, HDMI Raw, SPDIF Raw) - always the same. Only thing that helps is to amplify the volume of a video in Kodi. I can clearly hear this issue in Android menu, when I am selecting app icons. Before and after every "select sound" (sound Android makes when i select icon with a remote) I can hear that same click. It's like the device turns on it's audio output, plays the sound, then turns it off. At least that's what I think it's happening. First i thought it was the tv but I have an IPTV box hooked up on HDMI for a quite some time now and it never made such a problem. Can I do something to fix this?

HDMI Volume Issue

Just got my hdmi cable from monoprice and hooked it up to the TV so the kids could watch a movie on Netflix. I am having a volume issue. I cannot control the volume through my speaker bar so I control the volume off my tablet and Netflix. I have them both all the way done (just before mute) and the sound is still loud.
Is there something I did wrong or am I missing a step? Otherwise the picture looks great with no other issues.
What I noticed on mine is that the player might not control the volume as I used just the stock player and had to adjust everything via the TV. I turned the volume on the tablet all the way down and I still had sound out of the TV. Didn't make a difference. This might be how the audio is being routed through the tablet where it bypasses the tablet's volume control completely. Netflix could be in a category of programs designed to do these bypasses. However, you could try a saved movie or clip via SD card and test with some different players to see if all do it or just some. BS Player I've heard is a good one to try out.

[GUIDE] Fix for Thin-Sounding Rear Speakers

I couldn't find any threads about this so I'm not sure if anyone else has already found out about this, but I'll share my findings here.
For those of you who own a Pure XL or have watched/read a review about the phone, you may have came across a point regarding the phone's "thin-sounding" rear speakers.
I own a grey Pure XL and to me, it sounds like the phone is EQ'd to have high treble and low bass by default when outputting to the rear speakers, which makes it sound like it is lacking in substance, somewhat lifeless, and again, really thin-sounding.
There may be music that sound good with this EQ preset, but I haven't came across any (yet).
The common solution is to only listen with headphones, which sound slightly better (but will sound a lot better with the Hi-Fi/dts setting turned on, depending on your taste)
Thankfully, there is a solution to this that lies in the stock system Music/Video app, which is that dts setting.
All you need is any audio or video file with an extension that is supported by the phone.
In Music app:
Play your audio file
Tap the bottom section of the screen where it shows your track name and artist, along with a circular 'play' and 'next' button.
Tap the icon with three squares and a triangle at the bottom-right (beside the circular 'next' button)
Tap 'Equalizer'
Turn on dts
DONE!
In Video app:
Play your video file
Tap the oval dts option on the left side of the screen so that it turns red
DONE!
You can only change the dts sound settings if you have headphones plugged in, but it's way better than the lifeless sound that comes out the speakers without it.
This doesn't just apply to only those two apps though. I've tested this with the YouTube GApp that came factory loaded and it works with it. Will need others to confirm that it works with other multimedia apps (Spotify, SoundClound, etc...)
The result? Better-sounding rear speakers! The lows are now MUCH more apparent and the highs have been brought down to reasonable settings, resulting in a much more richer and balanced audio experience (but don't quote me on this, since I'm no audiophile).

Tried it through the music app (didn't need music on the phone just click more -> equalizer). Had Spotify playing in the background and heard a major difference. So much better.
Thanks!
This is great. Thanks

Volume for jack 3.5 output on Philips 49PUS7272

Hi,
So first of all I hope I am posting in the right forum! And that the issue has not been addressed already (I couldn't find it via search...)! If I'm wrong on any of these please excuse me
So here's my issue:
I bought a Philips 49PUS7272, which runs on Android TV. I works like a charm, but as most TVs, the speakers are kinda ****ty.
It's an issue for me, as I plan to use it as my main media center, for movies/TV but also music from google play music/youtube...
So I plugged my amplified speakers to it via the 3.5 jack output (my speakers only have RCA or jack input).
It works, but in order to adjust the volume I have to go through the Settings>Sound>Headphone Volume, if I adjust the volume directly with the remote, it only has effect on the TV speaker but none on the jack output
So it is quite annoying to go through about 10 clicks before modifying the volume.
I checked and I have the possibility to disable the TV speakers completely in the settings, so at least they do not annoy me anymore, but still I would like to be able to control the volume on the speakers directly through the volume buttons on the remote...
Anyone has an idea ?
Thanks a lot !
Edit: I don't know and couldn't find what processor is on this TV ...

New head unit install has static noise

I have just installed an Erisen 7591-HA (PX5) into my 2010 Golf Gti and I am getting static and digital processing sounds through my speakers.
If I mute the head unit there is no static or other sounds.
The digital processing noise happens when playing music via usb and Spotify when selecting the next track.
This is my first Android head deck and I am really disappointed.
Sound is going through an Alpine PDX-F6 amp.
I have tried disconnecting the radio plug and removing the head unit from the dash but no change still has static and processing sounds.
Sound issues remain if the engine is off it makes no difference.
Static and digital sounds do not increase with volume, it remains the same no matter what volume it is at unless the head unit is muted.
Good quality RCA and speaker cable was used.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same issue with a Belsee unit I installed last week. Do you have a line-level filter in your harness? I have a theory that the line-level filter that's included in mine is unnecessary, as it's coming straight off where the RCA outs would normally be (and those are line level already, right?).

No I do not have a line level filter on mine.
I have tried using an RCA GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR but this done nothing.
Below is a link to the sound I am getting from the head unit, you will see it only makes the sounds when volume is not muted.

Same issue on my PX5 KGL unit, not tested with filters or similar...
I read somewhere that the LED color-changing caused interference - and I noticed that you have yours setup that way. Have you tried setting a static color? Also, make sure all of your wiring is clean and try to keep any speaker wires away from any power wires (although that is more applicable to an external app setup).
Can you hear the noise at all while music is actually playing? Obviously, it would be better if it wasn't there are all, but if you can't hear it normally (only hear it when nothing is playing), then I wouldn't sweat it too much. All you can do is make sure that your wiring is clean and maybe try adjusting the LED settings and the "pre-amp" settings under the factory menu (maybe see if reducing the "System" setting under "Voice" helps reduce it). Once you try using things like ground-loop isolaters, etc, then there is a chance that the music fidelity is reduced even more.

Yeah have tried all the above and nothing changes.
The sound quality is poor also with higher ranges being really scratchy.
I am sure the unit would be fine if not using a higher end amp and just running the speakers off the head unit, I have read a few posts online and on youtube that the RCA output signal can be really poor with certain brands.
I just sent the unit back today for a full refund and will now be buying a brand name such as Alpine, Pioneer etc etc

Stock S7 sound crackle

Whenever I play any media the sound is complete fine - unrelated to speaker crackle or bluethoot crackle. I don't think it is a hardware issue or an app issue. Not headphones either - I tried a few.
The thing is whenever the sound cuts off (or is extremely low) - depending on how the media was made, I hear a crackle like when you put a needle on a record player. As if the lack of sound makes the phone try to boost it instead of cut it off and I get noise.
For example I get crackle when changing songs or when a Youtube video starts and stops and some of them have it in the video itself, because audio can be cut on multiple places throughout the video.
You can see (hear) how this can get annoying.
I tried all the sound options, but nothing seems to change it, one guy even suggested sound issues can be related to the dinamic oled screen option, but that doesn't fix it either.
Does anyone know something about that?
