You cannot go back to 7.0, download and flash this firmware https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930V/VZW/download/G930VVRS8CRK2/249089/

I installed it. I want to go back to 7.0

You cannot go back to official stock 7.0 firmware after you upgrade to 8.0. Once the bootloader software is updated it cannot be downgraded.
The only way you can go back to 7.0 is to install a custom ROM.
This is why you should read about flashing BEFORE you do it so you understand what you can and cannot do.

Odin flash failed, device 3, binary 2. Help needed!

Hi,
I have a G920F, I was rooted and want to go to stock again. I have restored the device with Smart Switch, but now I am unable to flash any other rom. I have downloaded 3 different roms from Sammobile and get sw. check failed device 3 binary 2 at everyone. The current rom is form Italy Wind the latest OI9. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, probably you trying to install oldest firmware 5.0.1, download the latest firmware and try again. You are with 5.1, right? This error on odin happens, because you cannot downgrade the firmware. Hope this helps.
I think you can not downgrade even if it is the same Android version.
If it detects you are on a newer bootloader it will give you that error.
What I belive you can do is to extract the bootloader (sboot) and modem from the .tar file and flash ONLY the system through Odin.
Don't know exactly how to do that because I haven't done it but I think that would do; you will have to search and read my friend.
You will have the stock firmware but with latest bootloader and modem.
Hope this helps.
Note: As far as I know this will work if its the same Andorid version; you can not have Android 5.0.2 with 5.1.1 bootloader.

Hi,
I have tried what you said, but no succes. The firmware was already recovered with smart switch so the bootloader is the latest.

But did you try to flash without the bootloader and modem?

Use the firmware for your region, e.g. country of issue and figure out the region code e.g. XFA, XFE, etc.
Ok so I had the same problem as you. When you get this error in download mode, it's because you can't downgrade your bootloader.
The version of TW you're trying to flash has an older bootloader than the bootloader you have already install.
You need to flash the latest version of TW. You can find it on Sammobile or with the soft Samfirm.

Both of you, boot to recovery, factory reset your device, thrn boot to download mode, flash your firmware via Odin, if you still have issues, try these troubleshooting steps for a failed Odin flash.

Need help to downgrade my phone, help !

Hi XDA users, I have an issue. On my Galaxy s7, I installed a custom rom (lineage 16.0), but I now want to go back into a stock rom (8.0.0). Buuuuuut... When I try flashing the stock rom from Odin, there is this famous "FAIL !" message in odin and my phone says "SW REV. CHECK FAIL(BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 6, BINARY: 4". I think it's because the rom installed on my phone has is in 9.0.0 and the rom I try to flash is in 8.0.0, can I bypass this message ? Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

the binary message is what is telling you that you cant flash the stock firmware youre wanting to due to the current bootloader on the phone. There is no way for you to flash a firmware set that has a bootloader lower than 6 and as far as i know, the 6 revision is only for 9.0. No downgrade for you sir. Im sorry

Ok bruh

Trying to downgrade from 7.0 (3/2018) to 6.0.1 (2/2017), Odin not working

Hi, I'm trying to downgrade from 7.0 to 6.0.1. Odin keeps failing.
When Odin fails (after NAND write start), I see an error pop up on the Download mode screen (red letters):
SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 6, BINARY: 5
Tried different versions of Odin, and made sure I had a good copy of the right version of firmware from Sammobile.
Any idea if it's possible? Is there another way to do this besides Odin? Phone is not rooted, stock, Knox intact.
I've been off Samsung for a few years, and my memory is spotty... but would it help if I installed a Recovery, then flashed a custom 6.0.1 rom? Or is that also a problem?
Thanks for any help!
Mike
