So you can connect your phone to a wireless connection, it just doesn't download anything? In that case, have you checked the same wireless connection with another device?

Yes and Yes....im seriously stumped !
the only thing i can think is that theres some sort of wifi radio issue on my phone , but id have thought that would manifest by not connecting to the network rather than not pulling in data .
ive factory reset phone a couple of times and reset my router, no issues on other devices
think ill go back to the store for exchange as im not really prepared and shouldnt have to piss around with a brand new device
its a weird one
Have you tried changing the channel of your router? Try a lower number, like 11. Or temporarily removing any encryption and/or changing encryption type?
Did u try resetting your router? I had the same problem last night. Taught it was my phone. Ended up being my router. Go figure ;-p

Tried that....now at work and connects fine to the network, deffo must be an issue with my home network
Problem for me is that networks and the like aren't really my bag , ive had a look at the admin page on the router and can see its connected and theres nothing immediatly obvious that i could say "that looks suspect"
so im not sure what the answer is
all my other devices mac, pc ipod/phone and previous htc work well and have never had an issue
getting on my tits a little
ill have another fiddle later and see what i can do
cheers for the comments tho
otherwise, i do like the form factor of the phone and ill even give sense a good go befor i probably switch over to ADW or maybe launcherpro
Solved!
Set up static IP address on phone ..... Worked like a charm
I find the same, except I think it has to do with encryption. I have tried with wep and wpa and I get an IP address but cannot browse. On unsecured it works just fine.
Like you found a static IP works, but I think it is the static DNS that is actually the issue here.
This is a cumbersome workaround if you use wifi all over the place, so I downloaded Static Wifi which says it will store settings per connection.
The only issue with this is that I think the device has to be rooted for this to work
Have you tried using the opendns settings
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
wifi reconnect
Hi all
Perhaps we all have the same issue
I have the HTC Sensation with almost 2 weeks now and i am having one continuous issue.
I have wifi set up at home the phone connects ok,however i also have a TV/Video sender, when i need to use the TV/Video sender i have to turn off the wifi(not ideal). The problem occurs when i turn off the TV/Video sender and turn the wifi back on,the phone will connect with the modem but not to the internet,Facebook,Twitter, emails will not sync, while testing i have discovered that if i "kill" facebook and Twitter and restart the apps all is ok again i.e facebook,Twitter and emails all sync.
Does anybody have an idea what is causing this ?
Rgds

I seem to have managed to resolve this by setting the security to wpa2 and i also altered the dhcp scope to force a new range of ip addtrsses higher up. Since I did that I've had no problems.
Hi there,
I am having an issue with my MK808B connecting to my home network. I can connect fine to numerous other hotspots (samsung galaxy nexus, ipad, mifi, etc), but for some reason it just does not want to connect to my home network.
My router is a Cradlepoint MBR-1000, and I am tethering it to a Pantech UM270 Modem for Verizon LTE internet. I can connect fine to this network on several other devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The MK808B shows strong signal, but every time I hit "Connect", it will say connecting for a few seconds and then just revert to saying "Saved, Secured" but without any connection being made. I have of course tried all the normal stuff about rebooting routers, etc. I have tried "Forgetting" the network several times and re-connecting - no luck. I tried setting a static IP address to my home computers thinking there might be an IP conflict issue, but that doesn't seem to be it. I also tried taking off all security on the network, but it still does the same thing.
Some of the other forums I have looked at suggest going to some "Advanced" wifi settings on android, but the MK808b doesn't seem to have that option that I can find.
I looked into my router settings and I do not have any unusual permission settings that I can tell - i.e. no "MAC address filtering" or "Access Control" enabled.
Admittedly I am no network expert, and it seems like there must be some simple issue that I am overlooking.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks!

Stupid answer, but have you rebooted the stick? I've seen that happen on multiple Android devices randomly, and a reboot always fixes it. You can also forget the network and try reconnecting and retyping your password. Either/both of those should fix.

Yup, tried both of those ideas. Thanks for trying to help, though!
I just got this phone few days ago and everything was great, up to yesterday. When i got home my phone cant seem to connect with my home network anymore. I have no idea what is going on and tried many suggested fixes like forgetting and reconnecting, resetting router, i even did a factory reset for my phone and tried few apps on the play store. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks so much for your time:crying:

Can you connect to any other wifi network?
If yes, then there is a problem with your home wifi router.
If no, then there is a problem with your phone.
EDIT: After a bit of searching, i came up with this,
Your wireless network may need to have your devices mac address before it can recognize and grant wifi access to that device. It turns out you need to add the mac address to your router so that it can let the device associated with the mac address connect to the network. If you don't know how to do this, or can't find another solution, call your network provider for assistance. They should be able to help you out. I cannot tell you how to fix your problem because I don't know (and don't want to know lol) your router address / IP address and password.

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my nexus, I've noticed that my internet on my phone is acting quite...strange to say. I have a dual band router(d-link 880l) and on my phone I only use the 5GHz one. it's the only device in my home that has problems.
The problem is that when searching something using the google bar it takes ages until I get the desired result, on youtube app sometimes when I open it ,it won't load anything, the second I close it and open it again it works, some videos just refuse to start until i restart the whole application, sometimes whatsapp doesn't connect to their server I have to restart the app to get messages, or to see las act of people,on facebook messenger is the same story, when i send a message it won't send ,it acts like I have no internet connection, until I restart the app. Ironically I get CONSTANT 81mb/s download and 91mb/s upload in speedtest.net app.
I really don't know what to do ,i've forgotten my network, tried connecting on 2.4GHz,put my wif i mode only in 2.4GHz,enterd recovery cleard cache partition, unninstaled whatsapp, youtube,fb messenger, google app, deleted all google play services data, restarted phone, neither of those fixed it...
Can you help me...?
Are you running the latest stock ROM or some other ROM/kernel combination?

I'm running rastapop 5.1.1 LMY48I with elementalx 4.04 since august 2015 with no fancy kernel settings or mods, just adblock and xposed over the top.I started to have this problem since november.
I did a factory reset on the router and I still have the problem.
To rule out software being the problem, I recommend flashing back to stock to see if the issue goes away.
I own a D-link DIR-850 (dual band AC router as well) and I am experiencing kind of the same problems. I have a Nexus 5 with latest firmware (MMB29S) but have had these issues for a while already. My girlfriends HTC One mini suffers from these problems as well. Most annoying is the seemingly random disconnects from whatsapp, I guess caused by Google Play Services being unreachable as at that same time also the Play store and other services relying on it are unreachable. Not sure whether this is an Android bug or caused by a bug in the Dlink router, which off course has been reset to factory defaults and checked for updates several times
Strange thing is that at the times that the Play Services are unreachable, other (plain internet based) services such as browsing with Chrome are working just fine.
I did some research on this compatibility issue between an android phone and a d-link router after I discoverd I'm not the only one.
The problem turned out to be some bug that is present in a way or another in android since lollipop , I think that lollipop(my case) is getting stuck when trying to do a DNS lookup ,but the problem is that it only happens on my home network, I don't have any problems at my friends wi fi or a public one. So my router isn't playing well with lollipop or the other way around.
The only solution I found to this problem is to disable ipv6 on your router or on the phone. So I did ,made a script that changes a value in a file, here it is : "echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/wlan0/disable_ipv6". With this I disabled ipv6 protocols on my phone(i've verified "disable_ipv6" file just to be sure that the value is "1") . Everyone bragged about it that it sloved their problem. Well guess I'm not that lucky, the problem still persists on my phone...
I've tried everything in the book...guess that this brand new 150 dollar router is not that impressive as they say...
I don't really want to factory restore my phone,I want to be my last option...the guy above me said that it did the factory reset thing and it didn't work so guess that it isn't an option after all...
If someone can help me(us), i will be very pleased...
At my workplace we have an Asus RT66NU providing the wifi, where I have never had any problem with this.
As you are suspecting it has something to do with the ipv6 stuff, I'll be experimenting with this a bit to see if something changes. First test is putting the autoconfiguration setting to SLAAC+stateless DHCP.
Next step will be disabling ipv6 at all.

I tried with PPPoE( my internet connection ) on ipv6 that is shared with my ipv4 session with SLAAC + stateless DHCP and stateful DHCPv6 . At first it was promising but in the end it didn't really solve my problem. Just for the record ,I had my ipv6 settings before on local connectivity only .
Hello,
I have an issue on my android devices where on wifi I cant open some apps (they dont load the info).
I figured out that disabling my router IPV6 or using a VPN solves the problem.
All its ok on mobile network.
I already reseted network settings, and even the phone factory settings. Same issue.
This is really annoying because I cant simple disable IPV6 on every router I connect.
Anyone with this issue, or any one with a solution for this?
Best Regards
